Right and wrong... Morality and immorality, these are just perspectives.
What is right to you, might prove to be wrong for someone else. And, sometimes, there are no right or wrong at all, as it all depends on what your heart feels.
Mira had tussled with the cruelty of fate all her life, and for once she probably stood a chance to see happiness.
Suresh's decision of taking her responsibility by marrying her, and giving her son a father's identify was something that had filled everyone's heart with respect for him...
He was indeed a noble person... A person whose 'good' would certainly weigh down the 'bad' in the scale of life. He had always taken the right decisions, but once... He had fallen in love with the wrong person.
He had never intended to defame his love. He too, had craved for an epic love story like the duo that stood infront of him...
'Always all over each other'.
The thought sizzled his heart, but only for a moment, as the soft gurgling noise coming from the little angel made his heart calm down into a ethereal soothingness.
In that hospital corridor, standing under the flickering tube light, Suresh had held his son for the first time...
'His son', why not? Young Anirudh Chatterjee would be the reason for him to live, and through him, he would do his penance.
Suresh's eyes teared up as the newborn cooed happily at him. He had given him his little finger to hold and young Ani had gripped it with all his might.
"Congratulations Suresh Da." Anirudh patted his back gently, as his eyes reflected pride for the man he had called an elder brother.
Suresh looked up... But, in that moment, he couldn't look straight into Anirudh's eyes as a sharp pang of guilt rose in his stomach, making him feel sick to the core.
'Anirudh Roy Chowdhury had never been unfair to him..
But, still he had abhorred him...
He had wished him dead...
He had planned to kill... Such a perfect seemless plan. Had that superintendent wouldn't have intervened...' Suresh couldn't think anymore as his head started to reel as his heart wretched violently in the apprehension of 'what ifs'. He moved towards the wall, pressing his back against it for support, taking deep breaths to calm his agitation.
"Suresh Da... Are you alright?" Anirudh's voice reflected concern as again the guilt conscience started to rise higher in Suresh.
"I'm good... I'm good... I just need to sit with my son here." Suresh murmured as he cradled the baby in his arms and sank down in a chair.
"The mother has gained her consciousness, but is very weak... Those who would like to meet her can go inside." A young nurses announced as she came out of the labour room.
Anirudh touched Bondita's shoulder gently, breaking her from a thoughtful trance as Bondita shuddered in response.
"Shona... What happened? Are you alright?" Anirudh lowered his voice and asked her gently.
Bondita couldn't reply as her sudden discovery had shaken her to the core.
'It was Suresh Da? All these while?' She questioned herself as she looked up at Anirudh's happy face and tried to utter her thoughts into expression.
"It's that... Well..."
But, she failed to speak as Anirudh cupped her face lovingly.
"I'm very happy Bondita... All these while the thought of Mira's wellbeing was troubling me beyond measures, and now I'm relieved that a noble person such as Suresh da is taking her responsibility."
Anirudh spoke his words in one breath as Bondita noticed emotions sparkling in his eyes.
"Don't you want to meet Mira?" He asked her again as Bondita forced a smile and nodded in response.
"Then go at once... JethiMaa is also inside... I'll be here, with Suresh Da."
Bondita clutched the old medical reports, the proofs of Rishit's innocence and the evidence of the hideous crime that Suresh had committed, hiding behind the masque of a goodness!
But, who was she to decide?
Who was she to judge what's right and what's wrong!
Who was she to give a verdict!
But, in a moment of undeniable rage, Bondita darted her infuriated gaze on Suresh as she walked passed him. She stopped right infront of his chair and looked straight into his eyes... as her face reeked of abhorrence.
She saw him cradling Mira's son in his arms as she spoke the words sharply.
"Kshitija was with child when she was killed... I'm glad this little one atleast got to see the world."
Suresh's expression changed. From a happy contentment, his face turned pale as a diseased soul. His hands started to tremble as Bondita quickly took the newborn from him.
"Do you think you deserve to hold him?" She moved a little closer as she hushed the words to him, before walking straight inside the labour room.
