Knight in a Broken Armor

The night was pitch black, with heavy raindrops pounding against the jeep's roof like a thousand drum beats. The wind was howling fiercely, and the trees along the road were swaying wildly in the storm. Anirudh could hear the sound of thunder in the distance, like an angry beast roaring in the night.

The jeep was an old model, with worn-out leather seats and rusted metal frames. The dim light inside cast a yellow glow on their faces, making them look more tired than they were. Anirudh had his elbows on his knees, his head buried in his hands, lost in his own thoughts. Officer Davidson was scratching his thick beard thoughtfully. He had a lantern jaw, and a no-nonsense attitude.

"Left a week back, eh? The address in that letter says Faridpur?" Davidson asked, breaking the silence.

Anirudh nodded. "Yes"

Davidson raised an eyebrow. "Faridpur? Have any idea which part that would be?"

Anirudh shook his head. "No."

Davidson sighed.

The jeep hit a deep pothole, causing both men to jolt in their seats. The rain was now coming down in sheets, making it hard to see the road ahead. Anirudh's mind was racing with all sorts of possibilities, some of them too terrible to contemplate.

As they drove on, the storm only seemed to get worse, and the road became more treacherous. Davidson was constantly barking orders at the driver, trying to keep the jeep on the right track. Anirudh could feel the tension in the air, as if danger was lurking around every corner.

The jeep rattled along the bumpy road, with the sound of the raindrops hitting the roof and the windshield. Anirudh's eyes were fixed on the muddy road ahead, lost in his own thoughts. The storm outside was like a wild beast, growling and howling, as if trying to break free.

Davidson, who was sitting beside him, seemed to be in a hurry. Anirudh sensed his restlessness and asked him,
"What's the matter, Paul?"

Davidson let out a deep sigh and replied, "I have some unfinished business to attend to." He sighed again. "Every minute spent is one step away from him, Satyakirth." He paused again. "As i said, we have intelligence that he's planning something big in Chattagram in the next few days. I need to catch him before he can execute his plan."

Anirudh felt a chill run down his spine as he heard the name "Satyakirth." He knew that Satya was planning big this time, and under no circumstances he wished his friend to succeed."

While his thoughts were occupied with Satya, Anirudh's mind couldn't help but wander to his own worries. His brother Batuk was missing, along with Mira, god knows in what state, and he had no idea where they were, or what had happened to them.

The storm seemed to be getting worse, as if it was mocking their worries and fears. The wind was howling, and the rain was pounding against the jeep with renewed ferocity.

Anirudh could see Davidson looking out of the window, as if he was searching for something. Suddenly, Davidson turned to him and said, "We'll find your brother, Anirudh. Don't worry. And we'll find Mira... That girl had gone through hell in her life, no more." He paused and placed a hand on Anirudh's shoulder.
"We're going to Faridpur, and we'll search every inch of that village until we find them."

The jeep continued to rumble along the muddy road, with the storm raging outside. Anirudh tried to stay calm, but he couldn't shake off the feeling of fear and dread that had settled in his heart. He hoped that they would find Batuk soon, and Mira, both safe, and all his speculations wrong, and that the storm would eventually pass.

.................................................

Batakrishna was alone in his hut, listening to the sounds of the storm raging outside. The heavy raindrops pelted against the roof, and the thunder boomed like an angry giant. The glass of the lantern had shattered into a hundred pieces, scattering tiny shards of glass all over the floor, but it wasn't time for him to look back.

"Miraaa... "

His heart racing, Batakrishna called out Mira's name several times, but the sound of his voice was muffled by the sound of the thunder. Fear gripped his heart, and he felt emotionally numb. He desperately wanted to see Mira and was scared that something bad was about to happen. The storm mirrored his mental state, as if nature itself was conspiring against him.

"Miraa... Can you hear me?"

Without thinking, he stepped out of the hut and began walking aimlessly through the storm, calling out her name. As he stepped out of the hut, he was hit by a wall of water, soaking him to the bone in seconds. The mud was now thick and slippery, making it hard to keep his balance. But he trudged on, determined to find Mira. The rain was relentless, pounding on him like a thousand fists, and the wind was howling through the trees. He felt emotionally numb, his heart heavy with fear and worry. He had to find Mira, he had to see her one last time, before it was too late. The rain was coming down so hard that he could barely see his own feet in front of him. The path was treacherous, with deep puddles and mud. He thought of all the difficulties that Mira had faced in her life, and he felt a sense of hopelessness.

"Where are you? Miraaa... "

Batakrishna's mind was in turmoil, as he trudged through the stormy night, his eyes darting around frantically, scanning for any sign of Mira. The rain continued to pour down in a torrential downpour, as if the heavens were mourning with him. The winds were howling like a pack of wolves, and the thunder rumbled like an angry beast, adding to the feeling of dread that permeated the air.

He walked aimlessly, his feet sloshing through the mud and the water puddles that had formed on the ground. The path was now treacherous, littered with debris and obstacles that made it hard for him to keep his balance. But he pushed on, driven by his desperate need to find Mira. He was the only soul out on that night, in that storm, as if the universe had conspired to make sure that he was alone in his suffering.

"Miraaaa.. " He screamed her name again.

In the midst of the storm, Batakrishna's eyes caught sight of something unusual on the ground. It was a white garland, tangled in the mud and rainwater, partially hidden under the debris of the storm. The garland's once-beautiful flowers were now discolored, their petals wilted and torn, a far cry from the vibrant adornment that had graced Mira's hair. Batakrishna frowned and picked it up, his heart sinking at the realization that it belonged to Mira.

"Mira! " He was panting now.

He clutched the garland tightly in his hand, his mind racing with thoughts of what could have happened to her. His fear and anxiety increased tenfold, and he was sure that something terrible had befallen his beloved Mira. His thoughts were of losing her, of not being able to see her again, of a life without her. He feared the worst, and every step he took from there on felt like a step towards his worst nightmare.

"Miraa... " He called out again. But this time, his eyes were greeted by a silhouette of a woman standing dangerously near the broken river bank.

Batakrishna saw Mira standing there, defeated and broken, he felt a surge of overwhelming emotions wash over him. Relief, for finding her after an arduous search in the storm. Fear, for what he might find when he reached her. Sadness, for the state in which he found her. He felt a lump form in his throat, and his eyes stung with unshed tears.

"Mira! " He gasped.

His heart sank at the sight of her defeated form, standing like a wilted flower on the river bank. Her shoulders were slumped, and her body seemed to be weighed down by the burden of the storm. The rain had soaked through her saree, making it cling to her frame like a second skin. Her hair, once adorned with the white garland, was now matted and tangled by the wind and rain. She was a broken bird with broken wings, unable to fly. Her face was hidden from him, but he could sense the despair and hopelessness emanating from her very being, like a dark aura.

He wanted to run to her, hold her and never let her go, but he was rooted to the spot by the sight of the rope tied to her foot, dangling into the treacherous waves. A feeling of dread filled him, as he realized that he might be too late to save her.

"Wha... What are you doing?"
He couldn't conjure words anymore.

Mira turned towards him once, and then she spread her arms, closed her eyes, and let herself lose.

"Miraaaa.... Noooo.... "

Batakrishna saw Mira let herself fall into the river, and heart skipped a beat. He felt numb, lifeless at that instance. He watched helplessly as she disappeared under the treacherous waves... Lost... Perhaps for ever...

A thunder crashed, bringing him back to his senses, and without a second thought, Batakrishna ran towards the river and jumped in after her. The cold water hit him like a thousand needles, but he pushed through, driven by the force of his love.

"Mi... " Waves swelled to muffle his cry.

The rain was still pouring down in sheets, drenching him to the bone, as he fought against the dangerous currents. The roaring thunder and flashes of lightning only added to the chaos around him. But none of it mattered to Batakrishna as he battled through the waves.

The river was unforgiving, pushing and pulling him in different directions, threatening to drag him under just like it did to Mira. But the force of love was stronger, and it gave him the strength to push through.
The night was a blur of darkness, rain, and waves, but Batakrishna didn't give up. He battled with nature itself to find his love.

"Miraa... Come backkk... " He swam against nature.

Just a little of her red saree was finally visible to him, afloat, and it was enough for him to take the leap of faith.

As he finally reached for that cloth, Batakrishna somehow got hold of her hair, and then her body. He pulled her into his arms, fighting desperately against the currents. Her body was limp and cold, but he held onto her tightly, determined to save her. He ducked first, keeping her afloat, and somehow managed to free her from the entrapment of the rope. The pitcher sank in no time. He fought against the currents for both, and the power of their love finally gave him the strength to make it to the shore.

"Mira... My sweet... My heart... "

Batakrishna's heart was racing with fear and anxiety. He was trembling, and his breathing was ragged as he lay Mira's unconscious body on the muddy shore, desperately trying to revive her. He was madly in love with her, and the thought of losing her was too much for him to bear. Batakrishna frantically pumped Mira's chest with his hands, trying to get her lungs to function properly. He could feel the weight of her body, limp and unresponsive. He felt his own heart pounding in his chest, a deep sense of desperation welling up inside him.
As he pumped her chest, he could feel her ribcage moving under his hands. He gritted his teeth and pushed harder, willing her to take a breath. After what felt like an eternity, Mira finally gasped for air, coughing and spluttering as she fought for breath.
For a split second, Batuk was flooded with relief, but when she still didn't open her eyes, he felt a fresh pang of despair.

"No... No no Mira... My love, my life... You... You can't leave me... No... "

He gently cradled her head in his hands, his fingers tangling in her wet hair. He could see the faint rise and fall of her chest as she breathed. But she made no attempts to regain her senses.

With a surge of emotion, Batakrishna leaned in and pressed his lips to Mira's, pouring all of his love and passion into the kiss. Raindrops continued to pour down on them, mingling with his tears as he clung to her limp body, lost in the intensity of emotions.

"No Mira... Please... Don't leave me... Come back... Please... I beg you... "

He wailed loudly.

Mira half-opened her eyes, after an eternity, her body remained limp and shivering, as if on the brink of death. Batakrishna held her closer, trying to warm her up and comfort her in any way possible. He felt a mix of relief and fear at the sight of her semi-conscious state.

"Nothing will happen to you... You hear me... I won't let anything happen to you..."

Batakrishna cried and Mira closed her eyes once again.

He lifted Mira's limp body and cradled her in his arms like a precious jewel. The rain had a devised treachery, and unable to walk forward, Batakrishna flung her on his shoulder. As he began to walk, his silhouette recreated a sense of devotion that reminded the nature of the image of Shiva carrying Sati's lifeless body. It was the power and madness of love above all. The rain was still pouring down heavily, but it felt like a warm embrace to him now, as if nature was comforting them both. Nothing else mattered.

The droplets of water glistened on Batakrishna's torn shirt, and his drenched dhoti clung to his legs as he trudged through the mud. But none of this mattered to him anymore. All he could focus on was getting Mira to safety and ensuring her well-being. The sound of the rain mixed with his rapid heartbeat, and he continued on, unrelenting in his mission to save his beloved.

The path was now filled with obstacles, but Batakrishna navigated them without hesitation. The jagged rocks that would have otherwise stopped him were insignificant compared to the weight he carried on his shoulder.

Mira's body shivered uncontrollably, but Batakrishna held her closer, his embrace warm and protective. He didn't care about the difficulty of the path or the harshness of the rain. The only thing that mattered to him was getting Mira to safety.

"A few more minutes my dear... Hold on..." He continued to murmur.

As he approached the hut, Batakrishna was greeted with another disastrous sight. He saw that the roof had collapsed under the weight of the storm. Rain was pouring through the holes in the thatched roof, and the walls were slick with moisture. Shards of broken glass from the shattered lantern littered the floor, glinting ominously in the dim moon light.

"Fuck! " A curse came out unknowingly.

He hesitated for a moment, unsure of where to take Mira, but then he remembered the empty cow shed beside his hut. With a determined look, he made his way over to the shed, pushing open the creaky door.

Inside, he found a small space with stacks of dry hay bales piled up against the walls.

The air was thick with the musky scent of animals, but it was dry and sheltered from the rain.

Batakrishna carefully laid Mira down on a bed of hay, making sure to keep her warm and dry. The hay rustled softly beneath her weight, and he sat beside her, holding her hand tightly in his own. Despite the chaos outside, there was a sense of peaceful stillness in the cow shed, and Batakrishna found himself breathing a little easier, knowing that Mira was safe and protected.

"I'm here... I won't let anything happen to you... You hear me... " He hushed to her ears.

Mira however, continued to shiver, her body wracked with tremors. Batakrishna recognized the signs of hypothermia, and his mind raced as he tried to figure out how to help her. The thunder outside seemed to echo the tumultuous storm within him. He knew he had to act fast.

Taking a deep breath, he made a quick decision. He opened his torn shirt and took Mira in his arms, holding her close to his body to share his warmth. The two of them were now wrapped in each other's arms, sheltered from the rain in the cow shed. Batakrishna hoped that his body heat would be enough to revive her.

"I'm here love... I'm love... " He continued to hush in her ears.

As he held her, he noticed how fragile she felt in his arms. He felt a deep sense of protectiveness and love for her. He could feel her heart beating weakly against his chest and he whispered to her to keep her spirits up.

The storm outside raged on, but inside the cow shed, the two of them were the only thing that mattered. Batakrishna held her close, watching over her as she shivered, waiting for the warmth of life to return to her body. His heart ached as he looked at Mira's beautiful figure, her body shivering uncontrollably. He couldn't bear to see her suffer any longer. Gently, he untangled the wet fabric from around her, revealing her delicate skin beneath. Even in her weakened state, she looked stunning, like a precious jewel glistening in the stormy night. Batakrishna couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with emotion at the sight of her. The red tangled piece of clothing came of her body, unsheathing her completely, and without wasting a breath he made her lie down on the soft hay once again, and then lay down above her, in a sensuous alignment, carefully wrapping her body with his own. He could feel the cold seeping into his bones, but he ignored it, focused only on sharing his warmth with Mira. His body was her shelter, her protection from the storm outside. It was a perfect contrast between the raging storm outside and the intimacy of their embrace was striking. The wind still howled outside, beating against the walls of the cow shed, but inside, there was only the sound of their breathing and the rustling of hay beneath them.

"Mira... Open your eyes love... Please... " His warm breath fell on her face.

As he held her close, he felt her body temperature rising like the sun slowly peeking through the clouds. Her shivers subsided and she lay still, like a sleeping doe in the quiet of a forest. Batakrishna couldn't help but feel drawn to her, her beauty more alluring than ever before. The warmth of her body against his was overwhelming, and he couldn't resist the romantic thoughts that came flooding in.

He traced the contours of her face with his fingers, marveling at the softness of her skin. He noticed the curve of her neck, and the way her hair cascaded down like a waterfall. The sound of the raindrops hitting the roof of the shed was like a symphony, the perfect background score to this moment of intimacy. Batakrishna felt as though he could stay here forever, just holding her close and basking in the warmth of their embrace.

She was breathing softly. Her eyelids moving.
Batakrishna kissed her on the eyes. He couldn't help but think about the sensuous intimacy of the moment. With Mira's soft and warm naked body, pressed up against his own nakedness, he felt the heat rising in his own body. The warmth they shared was like two bodies becoming one. He couldn't help but notice the beauty of her skin, the way her hair lay in wet strands around her face, and the gentle rise and fall of her chest as she breathed. The storm outside was a distant memory, and in that moment, it was just the two of them.

"Wife... " He whispered, and Mira opened her eyes slowly.

His heart skipped a beat as Mira's eyes met his. He felt a rush of emotions flood through him - love, desire, fear, and hope all mingled together.
The moment was incredibly romantic, like something out of a dream. He couldn't help but let his mind wander, imagining what it would be like to hold her like this forever. Her skin was soft against his, and he felt a tingle run through his body. As much as he tried to resist his wild thoughts, they kept creeping back in. He knew it was wrong to feel this way, given their circumstances, but he couldn't help himself.

Lost in his thoughts, Batakrishna didn't even realize that he had leaned in closer to Mira. His heart was beating faster and faster as he moved in, their unsheathed body stuck together, hers pressed under the warmth and strength of his, until their lips finally met in a passionate kiss. The storm still raged outside, but in that moment, nothing else mattered.
