Chapter Forty-Three

INIHAGIS ni Vengeance ang hinubad na coat sa ibabaw ng couch. Habang niluluwagan ang suot na neck tie ay tinungo niya ang bar. Nasa garahe na ang kotse ni Meredith. Mukhang hindi pa iyon natatagalan mula nang dumating dahil nang hipuin niya ang hood ay medyo mainit-init pa. Inililis niya hanggang siko ang sleeve ng suot na pang-itaas bago kinuha ang bote ng brandy at nagsalin sa isang rock glass. Hindi na siya nag-abalang lagyan pa iyon ng yelo at basta na lamang pinangalahati ang laman. Gumuhit ang pait at init sa kanyang lalamunan.

"May sakit si Manang Florencia. The doctors will run some test on her pero pupuwede naman siyang maging out-patient since hindi siya komportableng nakaratay sa ospital. I also think Almira will be a great help to us to do some chores around the house."

He picked up his coat from the couch and started walking upstairs, to their bedroom. He didn't bother looking back to see if his wife followed. Ngunit ramdam niyang nakasunod ang tingin nito. He took off his clothes and went inside the shower.
