To You - Dadaji
Name Series P2
Its been one year
Since you've gone,
And life has been a rusty hill --
Full of leaves and thorns.
I'm a seed sown in ground
Last year - now a sampling
Trying to bloom.
I remember the day of you,
Climbing the stairs to heaven
As clear as raindrops.
On your eve of leaving,
The sky was a lilac - yellow.
Twilight was creeping in slowly
Like an actor entering their part
In the play.
I was downstairs
In my own gloom,
It was 7pm when I looked upto the
Sky and a red hibiscus fell down -
On my hand.
I know it was a gift;
A token of your love for me.
When you left
There was rain,
And now there are flowers growing.
When you left,
We were a cracked land -
Still are but now the land is healing
Itself.
The ecstasy, I get when you visit me
Is unfathomable.
Your appearances make me happy.
I hold your messages in my
Treasure chest.
I'm turning into a river of yours &
Dadi's;
Borrowing the best from everyone.
Had you been here today -
I would've chirped my poems and
Fondness of Keats to you.
Your snow-white hair,
Oval face, sharp eyes makeup for the
Good in the lost life.
Though we met late,
You're as near & dear to me as
Keats.
I know you visit me when I'm
Asleep;
Watch me like a guardian angel.
The candle you left burning is still
Alive today.
The legacy you left behind,
I'll take it forward.
Even the great winds,
Couldn't dim your spirit.
Give us strength,
Be our guide.
Forever in our hearts,
Adìeu Dadaji.
I love you.
(Dadaji means grandfather in Hindi)
