Eight - irrespictive of the pain it carries my heart is still pure➰
The clouds were heavy, the storms on the way, ready to knock down trees and weak houses. The light blue sky turning into dark spooky ash color, illuminating the the upcoming lightening. I was driving back home after a long hectic day at school. The roads were empty as I drove to my destination. My mind was jumbled as thoughts were clouding my head.
I took a sharp Left turn to my house street as the rain started pouring very hard as if it was timing my arrival. I got to our house gate and honked waiting for the gateman to rush through the gates struggling to open it in a jiffy as he always does. But this time since its raining he might take a while looking for an umbrella to protect himself from drenching. I waited patiently for Malam Adamu to come open the huge black and golden gate in front of me as I looked around the streets. The streets was clear from any human or animals that stumble through them everyday due to the heavy rains.
I spotted a tiny black kitten under the heavy rains Searching for some shield to protect itself from getting drenched. It was so innocent and cute.
I got out of my car, the rain drenching my white dress as I walked straight towards my cause of attraction. I walked slowly not to startled the kitten.
As I got closer to it, the kitten meowed and rushed towards me as if it knows me. To say I was shocked was an understatement. I bent down to the wet floor and picked the kitten up. It was totally an throughly drenched. It looks so cute and innocent.
I felt a small pain in my heart as I saw how scared and terrified the kitten was. It was shivering in my arms as I walked back to my car and kept it on the passengers seat. I sat on the drivers seat as I roared my engine to start and drove into the house compound, parking into the car porch. I grab by hand bag that's full of school books and gently carried the kitten in my arms and rushed into the house.
"Maamaaa" I screamed from the living room as I strolled to the kitchen to check if she was there. No one at sight so I went upstairs straight to mama's room. I knocked before turning the door knob to enter. I opened the door and piped my head through as a smile spread onto my face. I was still holding the cute drenched kitten.
"Sabreena? You're back? Come in." Mama said as she got up from her prayer mat and folded it. She turned around, hands akimbo, and raised eyebrows. From her looks she knew what I was up to.
"What is it?" She asked still looking at me, trying to read me like an open book.
I opened the door widely and smiled at her. Bringing my hands slowly from my back to expose the little cute animal snuggled to my arms. Looking adorable.
Mama's eyes widen, her mouth slightly open as she grasped what was happening in front of her. She looks taken aback from my actions. She looks shocked.
Mama isn't a fan of cats, like she literally hates cats, she suffers from Ailurophobia, it is a specific Phobia, the persistent fear of cats.
But I just hope she doesn't overreact.
Irrespective of the pains it carries, my heart is still pure. I just couldn't bring it to myself to abandon an innocent cute animal at the streets when it's raining. It's so inhuman of me.
I cringed when I saw the fear in my mothers eyes. I know she's scared of cats but I never knew it was up to the extent she becomes paralyzed. "Mama...I am sorry I know you don't like cats, but...I promise to return it tomorrow and look for its owner." I explained looking at her eyes to search for any reaction.
"No" she said.

Hello guys! It's been ages.
I gave up writing, which is soo sad. I started writing as a hobby not really meant for people to see, and gradually I started posting on wattpad to get encouragement. But I lost inspiration. I don't know what to write again and maybe because I am quite a busy person. I'm a law student, artist, photographer and a writer. I squeeze time to do these things and honestly sometimes I forget one of those. Anyways I'm back now hopefully. And my coming back is mainly because of a devoted reader who is soo persistent and always asking for an update. I couldn't falter her hopes. Mamama_aleeyu thank you dear and this chapter is for you.❤️
Yours khamee
