Under The Influence
*......"No... I'm still locked. I need to be set free, I need entry" A figure boomed as it struggled against the heavy glowing chains that held it captive. It was dark, surrounded by dark energy. Purple swirls energy were floating around it, making it's features masked. It tried to break free to no avail. "I can't.." just then in the distance of the void it saw swirling red energy, "Wait..I think I can reach it" it said and it's forehead glowed and a beam of purple shot to the red energy, after it hit the energy, it exploded and scattered instead of swirling again. Just then the figure got a flash and saw Alan. It chuckled, I think I have a chance...*
......."Alan.." "Alan..." "Alan..".. he kept hearing voices calling him, he opened his eyes as they grew quiet. His mother was beside him.
"Mom?"
His mother looked at him and got close checking his fever "You okay sweetie?"
"I think... what happened?" Alan said, he felt his throat dry, like he was screaming. He touched it.
"It's okay, you're now okay" she assured.
"What happened, mom?"
"Nothing you just..passed out" she said giving him a glass of water, as he took it he felt something was off. "Mom, what aren't you telling me? Something happened"
"Nothing happened, you just passed out dear" she said as she watched Alan, her eyes glistening with tears as she tried holding them back.
"Mom..?" Alan scooted closer, "Just tell me..I know it's me"
She cracked a smile but failed as a single tear fell, "Mom why are you crying?" Alan said, his heart clenching as he wiped off his mother's tears. Her breath shook as she sighed
"You uh.. you have another mark" she managed. Alan frowned in confusion then checked himself to find another glowing mark, on his left hand. It was totally different from the first one. "Oh My..."
"I think we should send you to school, I mean you stay there"
"But mom, how about-"
"-dont worry, You'll tell your friends. If you stay here.. you'll be in danger, I mean you're in danger but you'll be in more danger. You'll hurt your friends and family, you won't be yourself when the dark side takes over Alan..and I'm afraid of losing you" his mother said holding back more tears.
"Mom, I'll go, stop crying please..dont worry"
"Fight the dark side, dont let it take over. Use all your strength to fight it"
"Okay, mom" he laid his head on his mother's shoulder. She rubbed Alan's hand comfortingly, Alan's vision became blurry as his eyes stung. He gently closed them and tears fell, he thought how he was going to be alone in that school, I mean he has friends but these ones were with him in all times. Seeing his brother, even though he can be an idiot sometimes will not be everyday. He sighed as tears welled again, he forced them back.
"It's okay" his mother comforted. Alan felt his eyes getting heavy, and he relaxed more as he fell into a sleep...well... only one way to find out if it was dreamless or nightmarish...
*.....Alan opened his eyes to find out that he was looking into total darkness, he couldn't see anything, he squinted his eyes and saw two things glowing, they were like ropes, coming from two opposite sides. Tying something or someone. He started walking to the place and boom! He was there, he gasped as he looked around, "how did I get here?" He thought, but a booming sound interrupted him from further thinking.
"Release me Element" the voice said. Alan heard clinking, the figure tried getting off from the chains but couldn't, Alan saw that they were glowing chains. "Who are you?"
"Your power"
"Huh?"
"I'm your power, you are getting out of control because I'm chained. Powers are leaking"
"What are these, then?" Alan mocked and lit his hands up. Green energy in his hands.
"You think that's all your power? That's just a fraction, you don't know anything about it"
"What makes you say that?"
"Because I know"
"Wait.. you're the 'inside voice'?"
"What? If you put it like that then yes"
"Why are you locked?"
"Because, they think I'm a threat"
"You do look like one, what with all that aura"
"This is just a mask" then the darkness around the figure disappeared to be replaced by man, he was glowing a soft yellow, he wore a yellow attire and he had short black hair, yellow glowing eyes and the chains had kept him from breaking free.
"Woah"
"Free me, Alan, I will grant you the rest of your power"
"But.. that's..how...what if you are a threat?"
"I'm not, trust me, do you know why your aunt unexpectedly to get the rest of your powers that night?"
Alan remembered......
*..."Okay but you need to travel to the depths of your power... You need to take all of your powers"
"So I just have some of them?" "Yeah.. You need to do it tonight"
"Yeah..I remember but I don't know why"
"It's because it's the same day she chained me"
"What if she was right?"
"What if...."
"I..." Alan started, unsure.
"Do it Alan, for your benefit" he pressed.
Alan hesitantly raised his hand and channeled his powers, opened his palm to release the energy to break the chains but stopped.
"No.. this amount of power I have, has driven me nuts. It's stressing me out.. I don't know how to control it, I don't know how to live with it. If I unleash all of it, it would be chaos" he retracted his hand.
"I'll teach you Alan, that's why I'm here"
"Yeah, I know. But that still doesn't mean that my aunt didn't chain you without a reason. I'm not breaking those chains until I have answers"
"I have those answers!"
"Not the right ones...I'm sorry but I'm not breaking those chains" he started backing away slowly.
"Alan! Come back!"
"No.."
"Come back you stupid boy! You're going to break these chains, whether you like it or not!" He said in anger and dark energy surrounded him as his forehead glowed and shot a beam, Alan dodged it and was about to run tendrils of red energy captured him. "Let me go!!" He yelled as he struggled against them, he used his powers to remove the tendrils of energy but he was too late. He didn't notice as another beam was sent his way. It hit him on his chest, and he felt something entering him, he gasped as he felt the air leave his lungs. He closed his eyes and summoned his Element power, his eyes and body glowing green but not his chest, it was still red from being hit by the beam, he tried pushing it back. He collected power on his chest to send back the beam but-....*
He woke up breathing raggedly. He looked around, he was in his room. And it was still night, he got up to go drink some water. As he went to the kitchen he checked if his mother was sleeping but she wasn't there when he opened the door to check. Weird. He thought. He reached the kitchen, and took a glass of water but before drinking it he heard "Alan we need to leave now" it was his mother's voice. He put the glass on the table and followed the voice to the living room, but when he reached there, there was no one.
He frowned in confusion "Mom?"
"She isn't here" the voice boomed. Alan turned back to find a shadowy purple figure standing infront of him. His eyes widened a bit but he raised his hand to send a blast of power only to freeze, he then started floating and stopped in mid air. "No..no..this isn't real, no!" Alan yelled.
The voice chuckled sinisterly. "I know, but why use much energy while I can do it in here?" "In where!?"
He looked around and when his eyes landed on the floor he was shocked. There was the mark that was on his right hand there. It was big, like carved on the floor and it still glowed. "No!" He screamed and tries using his powers but couldn't get out of the spell. Swirls of purple emitted from the mark and surrounded Alan. His screams were cut short as he saw his chest glowing red and his more energy rotated around him. He vision got blurry as he felt something taking over him-....
Alan gasped as he breathed raggedly. He immediately felt his chest. His heart was pounding like crazy. It was a dream, it was all a dream. His mother immediately came to the room to find him sweating and breathing frantically. "Alan, what's wrong"
"I just had a dream that there's this creature who was chained, persuaded me into freeing him, then I tried escaping but he captured me and I felt him sending something in me"
"It's okay, it's a dream"
"It felt so real" Alan said just as he felt his body behaving different. "Mom I-" his words were cut off as he jerked his head up involuntarily. His eyes glowed purple completely, and the two marks glowed again.
His mother gasped as she called "Alan?"
Alan chuckled, his voice distorted as he slowly brought his head down. "Yes Mom?" He grinned. She got up from the bed and backed away, still not believing what she just saw. "Alan, it's me"
"I know that, feels good to have such a power mom" he said as he twirled fire in his hand then stopped. "How about I give you a piece of it" he said and threw the fire at her. Her palm glowed as she caught it and extinguished it.
"Get away from my son" she said getting angry. Alan started floating then started playing with dark energy in his hands. He chuckled as he went higher 'till he nearly reached the ceiling. "Who said I'll do that?" He then threw a ball of dark energy, but she created a shield and the energy bounced but she waved her hand and the shield pulled the energy back into it and she redirected it to Alan.
Alan waved his hand and the energy hit the wall, exploding it. She made her hands glow with power and got prepared. Alan was still floating, he smiled and went after her, before he could reach her she grabbed his hands and turned then slammed Alan on his bed. But Alan, grinned and his mother was tossed by an invisible force, hitting the door. She got up and raised her hand, Alan slammed the wall and grunted in pain.
"Get out of him!!" She commanded.
Alan's eyes turned normal, "Mom, you're hurting me" he croaked, his sound now normal. She immediately let him go. And went to him "Dear, I'm so sorry, are you okay?" Alan smiled, "Of course mom, why wouldn't I be?" Then he grasped his mother's throat and started choking her and his eyes returned to the purple glow. She tried prying his hand off him but, he was too strong. Just then, the door busted open and James entered the room, seeing what was unfolding he raised his hand, and Alan froze as his insides tightened, he loosened his grip and his mother got away from him to James.
James let him go, "Mom, what has happened to him?" "He's possessed" "Wait, spirits are real?" She gave him an incredulous look. Before she could answer, Alan chuckled, his voice distorted. "I didn't know you were that dumb" he said then started floating as wind came out of nowhere. "You bastard, give me my son back!" She commanded again. Alan kept laughing, his voice echoing. His mother snapped her fingers and whispered "Cloacver Sanctunium" and outside their house a barrier of glass surrounded it.
"Mom, what's that" "I just masked the house, everything that happens here, know one will know, unless he breaks it.. because it's gonna get very ugly, so be strong for you, your brother, and me, since your father is on a work trip, let's do it on behalf of him too" she said in all seriousness. James nodded as the wind grew strong, Alan snapped his fingers and the ceiling blew up, the two marks were right on top of the house floating, but they weren't that big. He laughed as dark energy surrounded him "You can't defeat me now, even though I haven't taken full control of the boy, feel my wrath" his distorted voice echoed in the wind.
"Bring it on" she said and lit her hands up. James's eyes turned blue as he got ready too...
