Chapter 2: Vault 397

Chapter 2: Vault 397

Sabrina dusted cheese dust off her fingers, and swallowed. The rest of the group wondered around the otherwise empty vault.

"I hope these people didn't really care about their stuff." She said. "Becasue if so, i basically ate their only possesions."

The assorted group of fangirls/ fan guys looked at her strangely.

"I REGRET NOTHING!" Sabrina proclaimed loudly.

"There's something wrong with her..." Whispers and mumbling flooded the group and if Sabrina heard them she didn't respond. She did get up swinging in a wide circle. Her keys jingling in her pocket.

"Okay, Next Vault!" A slightly crazy smile her face.

Immediately people started shooting numbers at her, a dizzying blurb of words that didn't quite sound like English anymore. She thought she heard a couple of people start shouting curses in Greek.

"342!"

"No, Do 212!"

"342!"

"Shut up! She's going to do 457!"

"Your all wrong! 984!"

"342!"

"212 and if anyone says otherwise, I'll kick there butt all the way to Tartatrus!"

"There will be no kicking off butts to dark places of the underworld!" Sabrina yelled but she didn't think anyone actually heard her. Wizards in tailored black robes were pulling out wands attempting to curse other people, demigods were jumping and down itching to pull out there assorted weapons. Random mutants flared with colors displaying a variety of powers.

"ENOUGH!" Sabrina screamed loudly.

Everyone stopped, some inches from attacking another person, and turned to look at her.

"I have the keys." She stated firmly. She jingles the many keys for emphasis. Then she turned to the person closest to her, a guy with almond shaped eyes and dark hair. "You, what's your name?"

He gave her a confident smile flexing his arms for no reason. "Harrison Fletcher. But you can call me anytime." He winked.

Sabrina actually snorted. "Right...I'm sticking with Weird Guy." She turned him to face the crowd and plucked another person from the crowd a girl with four inch heels and face caked with makeup. Her outfit was rather revealing and Sabrina wasn't quite sure why she chose her.

"who are you?" Sabrina asked lining her up with Weird Guy.

She gasped as if appalled. "You don't know me? I'm Percy Jackson's girlfriend!"

"I thought Annabeth was blond and...notaslut." She said the last part really quickly into her shoulder.

"What was that?"

"Nothing. Nothing!"

"Besides I'm not Annabeth! She's so weird! And nerdy! I'm Anastasia." She smiled proudly, not aware that half the group had stepped away from them. Sabrina wished she was one of them.

"Did you even read the series?"

"No!" Anastasia said popping a piece of bubblegum with her tongue. "Books are stupid! Besides I'm much too pretty to have to read."

Sabrina looked away instead of sneering her eyes picking a less obvious person from the outlying people.

"Hey kid in the back with the Ent shirt, come on up here!"

The guy paled considerably, shaking as he wiggled through the crowd. Was it Sabrina or was he turning green?

"What's your name?"

He was shaking so bad he nearly dropped elven woven bow from his hands. "M-M-M-M-" He stuttered. "M-M-Michael."

"Okay Michael, you, Ms. Delusional, and Weird Guy, are all going to pick a number and the person closest to mine gets to pick the vault." She swirled a circle humming over the sounds of protest coming from everyone else. "I'm thinking of a number, One through...infinity!"

"42!" Michael shouted instantly blushing red and ducking back.

Sabrina nodded and turned to Anastasia. "Well?"

"It's so obvious!" Anastasia said. "It's banana, duh!"

Sabrina stared at her for a second trying to determine if she was being serious not.

"Your not joking...Okay then, we have 42, banana, and...." She turned to look at Weird Guy. He stared back, grinning a set of perfectly aligned white teeth.

"Let's just forget all this number stuff, babe." He breezed putting his arm around her shoulder. "Just let me take you-"

"PICK A NUMBER!" Sabrina screeched.

"Okay!" He girl screamed. "7! That's my number! Please don't hurt me!"

"Really out of all the numbers ever invented, you guys picked 42 and 7?" Sabrina asked.

"It's the answer to life...." Michael mumbled.

"Well actually," A guy with thick black glasses that were taped over the nose, pushed the front. "It can't be. There is no answer to life, because life itself is not a question. Take this book for example, or that apple. What's the answer to the book? You can't answer it because you don't know what you're looking for in the first place. It's like a-"

"Please." Sabrina cut in. "Please, whoever you are, nerd, smart guy, please just shut up. We're going to vault 397."

Many teens questioned that asking how she got that from 7 and 42.

"Well everyone else couldn't pick a freaking number so I picked it."

Sabrina turned and lead the way out of the vault. "Are you guys coming?"

Sabrina lead a short jog, not trusting to take a cart again. A couple of the boys decided to joke around in the back. Pushing, shoving, Sabrina wasn't surprised when the idiot on the edge fell over.

"Help!" the boy screamed he kept falling into the dark blackness.

The crowd stopped gasping. Harrison Fletcher leaned over the edge with a phone and snapped a picture. Sabrina walked over to him, and he laughed showing her the picture. Sabrina smiled and took the phone then she threw it over the side.

"Can we please keep going now?" Sabrina said. "And try not to push anyone else over the edge, they might want refunds which I don't give out."

Sabrina walked over to the vault, sticking in a key that looked exactly like all the others. The lock turned with agonizingly slow Tick-tick-tick. Sabrina flung the open the door.

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!"

Sabrina screamed and the rest of the crowd surged backwards crying "what's wrong?" Someone actually threw a spear through the gap in the door.

"Nothing." Sabrina said. "I just felt like screaming. Oooh look at this!"

Sabrina skipped into the vault gasping a staff from the middle of the room. It was made of twisted branches with a dazzling stone on the top. She smiled spinning the staff like a baton. She laughed. That was until she was tackled.

Michel gasped. "Oh for the love of Gandalf!" He yelled. He tackled the weird tour guide. Sabrina let out a yelp. The staff sent out a binding flash of white light that completely obliterated the opposite wall. "You idiot!" He yelled at Sabrina, "That's Gandalf's Staff! You could have killed us all!"

Not that Sabrina was listening, or even cared. Mainly because in the opposite wall The smoke was clearing. And standing in the doorway was an actual Dragon.
