-Somewhere Deep In The Night-
Nighttime is a time of the day where the sun sets, out of view and instead the moon takes its place. Darkness shrouds the sky.
But not, completely.
Stars, beautiful balls of fire decorate the sky like ornaments on a tree, giving the world light.
Nighttime was quite peaceful.
But tonight, was different. Something unexplainable was happening within the air.
An eerie sensation traveled brusquely within the brisk wind which unfortunately upset the animals in the forest.
Wolves howled and weeped. Birds and owls chirped and cooed, over and over again. Even the bugs seemed upset, flying crazily and wildly in the air as if they had little control over their own bodies; just desperate to hide from the strange outside world.
Today, this night, felt unusual.
Menacing.
And that, was because a great battle of good and evil was unfolding this very moment, deep within the woods where a large, white building was stationed. In the middle of the wilderness, was where the building was located which shook and rattled, unstably standing upright.
But, if you listened closely, distant screaming and cries of battle could be heard echoing throughout the forest, upsetting nature, itself.
Naruto's P.O.V
Punch.
Jab.
Kick.
Scratch.
Scream.
The once peaceful hideout that was filled with demon hunters was now a horror show as Kurama and I scoured the halls and made a waste of the people that ran within them.
Many hunters rushed at us in waves, welding different weapons and honing a disparate set of skills.
But with anger, hatred fueling my heart, I was too much of a threat to take down. The hunters didn't stand a chance.
While running side by side through another endless hallway, Kurama and I ran into yet another wave of hunters. These particular sets of hunters held guns and swords to fight their battles.
This, is wave two.
Wave one was a pathetic bunch with only guns which didn't affect us at all. Our bodies move too fast to be stopped by measly bullets. So the men fell as soon as they arrived.
So now.
My amused red eyes stared onward as seven hunters in cloudy black and red coats rushed towards Kurama in an attempt to slay him. While I simply launched myself into the air above the other group of hunters, their hands holding on tightly to their precious weapons. Battle cries echoed through the entire hideout but such sound came to a halt once, wave two, caught my sudden movement.
"Naruto's open!"
"Shoot him down!"
A smirk pulled at my lips as I steadily flew across the air, just right over them, my body slowly growing closer to the group of men in coats which were bundled together within the hallway. Rapidly, my trench coat flapped behind me in the wind that rushed through my clothing by my movement.
But the hunters commands were not just empty words. A few of the hunters that held guns quickly began to fight back. Fingers pulled the triggers to rifles which released fast moving bullets that flew everywhere in an attempt to harm me.
And so on that note, I acted fast, dodging the bullets by swinging my body left and right within the air. And from there, I jumped down towards the group of men, to regain my footing.
Landing on a hunter's body, my own body crouched upon the male's shoulders, one clawed hand of mine positioned directly on his forehead.
But because my weight was quite heavy, my body massive, I managed to knock the surprised male down onto the marble floor, causing him to bump his head in the process.
"A-Ahh-ugh!"
A horizontal swing at his throat with my claws silenced his surprised yelp, blood oozing out of the now deadly wound. Shakily, the male shook below my crouched form from where he laid, his eyes widened in shock as he finally realized what I had done. The strike was quick and was done with absolutely no hesitation so I understood his confusion.
But I didn't care.
It felt exhilarating to finally kill the ones that have been haunting me from the very beginning, ever since I stepped foot on this planet. Individuals that have killed every last one of my species, my family, that has sealed me away for centuries and, has tortured my precious little one, my love.
I will make every last one of these bastard's pay.
So, with that promise in mind, I only gave the choking male below me a sadistic smirk before I was quickly thrown back into battle, my being now surrounded by the enemy.
And the group of men didn't wait to attack.
The ones with swords rushed at me and began to swing the sharp end to their weapon at all angles of my body, quicker than an average human. But being a demon in all, I read their move before they could make it. So, I watched them, all eight men turned to only attack while I was occupied. But as they sought to wound me with their weapons, nothing but screams of malice, venom..
Hatred.
Were thrown at me. Words that I found highly humorous..
"Die, demon!"
"Go back to whence you came!"
"Crawl like the filthy dog you are back to hell!"
"Vermen! Taste defeat."
My crimson eyes bled red, glowing amusingly at the men who rushed at my crouching form with a means of ending me. My blonde hair was now painted with droplets of blood, actually, my entire body was splattered with my enemies blood.
But I paid such a detail no mind.
I, was only interested in playing with my enemy a little. I licked my lips.
This should be fun.
So to do that, to trick the idiotic buffon's running at me, I remained crouching where I was and allowed the the hunters to stab me..
All, at, once.
Once all eight swords met my demonic being, my body launched forward brutally, blood from within shooting from my gaping mouth and meeting the clean, white floor. Even some of the dark, red liquid spilled on the now dead hunter below me, his eyes fixated on the ceiling above.
I let out a chuckle upon my predicament for I felt quite different.
Unusual.
Oddly enough, I felt no pain from the swords that pierced through my flesh, through my body.
I felt, absolutely nothing.
My large body was pierced in several different spots by the hunters' sharp swords. Mostly the bastards attacked from behind, so most swords were found pierced through my backside, shooting out of my chest. But two were found in my arms as well.
But such actions caused me no pain which was diverting but also relieving. It only made me realize that Hinata was safe and also...
Very close.
My body was fueling off of her life force and was using it to become stronger, so strong, pain was not a problem for me. And because of that, I worked up a good laugh in response.
First, it started as a chuckle, my body trembling, shaking. Then the chuckle grew louder and from there, I threw my head back and cackled, laughing my ass off. And like the idiots they were, the hunters that stood around me, stared down at me with widened eyes, completely perplexed by my rather unhinged state.
Kurama on the other hand was tending to another set of hunters who seemed more interested in taking him down than myself. By how fast I saw them run to him earlier, I'm guessing they think he'll be an easy target to take down.
Oh how wrong they were.
So it was quite amusing to see Kurama effortlessly dodge their wild attacks with ducks and weaves, then to only go in for the kill with his mighty tails, striking them down mercilessly. But...
I returned to the problem at hand and gave the long, mighty swords that were quite sharp at the ends, a look. Each sword that punctured my body was made in a different form but not one, brought me pain.
I chuckled at the hunters' sad attempt to wound me and I turned to spare the idiotic men a look, who stood around me, dumbfounded.
"H-How?"
"How is this bastard still alive?"
"What the bloody hell?"
Frantic questions began to arise around me but I didn't make a move to answer them and I only sought to start what I planned.
I've gotten the hunters where I wanted them. Now it's time to test the extent of my power.
So with that, I let out a deep, gruff growl and pulled my hands up, carrying the hunters swords that were embedded in my arms with me.
With two hands, I did a couple of hand signs, only a few. My body was rather tense as I did so and from there, I allowed the dark energy that surged inside of me to leak from my body, manifesting into small, round bubbles.
The hunters gasped by how the dark bubbles peeled themselves from my tensed body, slowly creeping into the air so the naked eye could see. So the hunters, could see. And from there, the men yanked their swords away from my body, tearing them away from my insides to wield again. From there, they sought to attack once more.
"Shit! What is that?"
"Nevermind that! Just attack!"
"Strike him before he finishes his assault!"
But it was far too late. Their confusion over my condition to their measly attack from earlier has cost them their lives.
So now that a large amount of the bubbles had formed and were now floating about, I only had to whisper one thing to activate them. With my power, I could change and transform it to anything I desire and I only had to say the right words to do it. So now...
I smirked slyly.
The hunter contraption outside has given me an idea.
And from there, I gladly worked on that idea. From there, I whispered underneath my breath special words to my spell and once I did, the bubbles' physical state began to change into something more, deadly.
Now the once harmless figures began to grow larger, wider, sharper until the bubbles were now black spikes, ones that surrounded myself, directed at all the hunters that stood around my crotched form.
All eight of the men that stood around me let out gasps for they knew they were all...
Cornered.
Trapped.
I cackled loudly, deeply liking the fact that the bastards that once attempted to kill me, now all were just about to face their doom.
The looks on their faces were priceless but the looks that arose after my attack was..
Even more fascinating.
With quickly whispering a few things in my special demonic language to finish my spell, I forced my hands outward with all of my might which in result compelled the spikes I created to fly in all directions, piercing anything and, anyone in their path.
The speed of the spikes were unmatched so the hunters were all dealt with quickly.
I growled, boisterously. "Hah! Take this!" I yelled, launching my attack. Louds screams of pain were heard and thuds of bodies were made as the spikes rushed through the air like rain in all directions from my crotched form, cutting and piercing any human body in sight until death was granted, an ear to ear grin rooted on my face.
"Yes, die! Fucking perish, you pathetic worms!" I bellowed out while laughing hysterically, my voice bouncing off of the walls that surrounded me. The death that erupted around me, the sweet stench of blood, the screams of pain all worked me over to the deep end.
I was really, enjoying myself.
Each time a dead body fell on the ground by my knees, my laughs grew louder, my trembling increased and my heart rate grew faster but as a result, my behavior alerted Kurama.
Now surrounded by dead hunters, his red slitted eyes shot towards my crazed form which was still held in it's crotched position, his attention now rooted on me.
He let out a quiet curse underneath his breath and quickly moved closer, bringing his legs up and over the dead men below him. Swiftly, he walked forward, shooting towards me in a hurry in order to regain his place by my side. And once he was there, he shot his hand out to quickly reach for me, grabbing it with all of his might.
I jolted up upon the action, all laughter ceasing by the sudden touch I felt. The touch was aggressive and rough, lacking tenderness which alerted me. My body snapped almost immediately towards the source and I growled at it.
Kurama, the culprit of the assault that I just underwent, put up a frown at the sight of the insanity, the savageness held within my eye. My humanity was almost gone, drained from the gore and bloodshed I was witnessing and that worried Kurama.
He gritted his teeth, pulling up his fingers to snap them in front of my face. I growled again, baring my ridiculously sharp teeth at him. The figure in front of me looked unrecognizable. I couldn't make it out at all. All I knew though that the figure before me was stopping me from killing more of my enemy. So constantly, I bared my teeth. I growled and scowled at it, like a wild animal.
Kurama shook his head at my savage behavior and quickly sought to fix me.
"Kit. Hey kit!"
I snarled louder.
I didn't hear anything. All I wanted to do was kill more.
Kill. Kill.. Kill...
To slaughter more.
Slaughter... Slaughter... Slaughter.
And by the heavy footsteps that were rushing towards us from another hall, close from here, I knew I would just get my wish.
But Kurama, didn't give up.
He pulled both of his hands down to grab my shoulders, his own body slowly slipping down into a crouched position. Once my shoulders were in his grasp, he gave them a shake which rattled my heated body, back and forth.
The orange haired male before me narrowed his eyes, clearly determined to pull me out of the state I was in.
"Pull yourself together, Naruto. This, is not the place to lose yourself. The hunters here are smart. They'll take advantage of you and will cut you down without hesitation. You have to keep a hold of your sanity. He pulled my body closer, my dazed crimson eyes falling upon his crouching form. I tilted my head.
Kurama?
The fox demon tightened the grip on my shoulders, shaking his head due at the sight of me lost, gone due to madness. "Snap, out of it, Naruto. Think of Hinata. Think of your lover. You're taking revenge on the people that hurt her. But you cannot do that if you're not attentive and alert. You will surely lose and..." One hand suddenly moved up to slip along the back of my head to pull me close, towards Kurama so I had no choice but to stare into familiar crimson orbs.
Faintly, I could hear a voice that was highly recognizable, my dazed eyes rooted on Kurama's.
He sighed, his other hand moving to pat my shoulder. "Hinata will die, if we don't save her, Naruto. We have to do everything we can, to avenge her, to stop these fools. And we have to do it, together."
Just as he said those words, all of my senses opened back up to where I was aware of my surroundings again. My crazed look dropped and now, I looked down at Kurama with widened eyes.
I blinked rapidly, swallowing to dampen my dry throat. "K-Kurama?" I whispered before whipping my head away from his strong hold to look around, my now blue eyes taking in the dirty, battered walls that were drenched with our enemy's blood, the bodies on the floor, lifeless, drained of blood.
I breathed deeply, completely out of breath at what I saw, turning back to Kurama with a confused look on my eye. "Wh-What happened? Did I-"
"Lose control? Why yes you did, kit."
A gulp slipped down my throat. But Kurama shook his head, giving me a reassuring smile.
"But that's reasonable. You're finally taking revenge on your enemy. Revenge you've been waiting to give for over a thousand years. But losing control was only gonna get you killed so, I had to do what I do best." Kurama chuckled out before pulling my bloody body to a stand which was no longer tense but more relaxed. I felt a little better.
I put up a faint smile.
Kurama's right.
I turned to him, now that I was standing and sent him the smile that was tugging at my lips, rooted positively on my bloody tan face. I nodded. "Thank you, Kurama. Fuck, what would I do without you?" I asked with an amused chuckle, just truly thankful to have a loyal and supportive companion such as he. He was certainly cherished, appreciated and loved.
Just, like, my Hinata.
The fox male let off a pleased laugh by my response, truly glad that I've come back to my senses. "You'll be dead, brat. But thankfully, you do have me. And besides, you're strong. You're relentless. You're a fucking killing machine."
A chuckle slipped out of my lips upon such compliments which amused Kurama greatly.
He smiled, continuing on with his speech which was extremely helpful at the moment. "So I say, we use those special qualities on the battlefield but, with an alert mind." His eyes turned serious and he moved two fingers of his forward to drive them into my chest. He nodded, sternly. "Don't forget why, you're fighting. The thrill of killing is nice, yes, but don't lose yourself in the process, got it? I'll never forgive you if the hunters pull one over on you and we lose, everything." He stated firmly, his finger constantly jabbing at my chest which led me to believe this little talk was a serious one and so, I listened and obeyed Kurama's wishes in response.
I nodded back, moving one arm over to throw it across his neck, pulling him in. "Ahh, it seems you've given me a behavior slip, Kurama. So therefore, I'll behave and in response, I'll tear each and every one of these bastards apart. You don't have to worry because I assure you that a victory will be achieved today. This building will burn and I will walk out of it with Hinata by my side; happy and safe." I declared with a sly grin. Kurama put up a thankful smile on his face at
the sound of my words and from there, we made our way forward, throwing ourselves into battle once more.
"Oh I know you will, kit. I know you will.."
Hinata's P.O.V
"You're broken, Hinata."
"You're weak.
"Why don't you die?
"Come with me, I'll show you a nice time in hell."
Over and over, the sound of Naruto's voice echoed throughout my jumbled up head as I was escorted rather roughly through the wobbly hideout in which belonged to demon hunters.
My body felt hollow, empty as it blindly walked forward, one hand of mine covering my mouth as I was pulled onward.
Sasori, the kind hunter that has valiantly saved my life, held my hand tightly, steadily taking me to god knows where. But all the while, I was lost within my evil infested thoughts which seemed to overwhelm me, consume me. My body trembled like never before. It was something I couldn't get my body to stop doing. The shaky tremors I was enduring seemed inescapable which only explains that the effects of the dream I experienced was still messing with me.
That dream is all, I can think about.
Nothing else mattered. Only the events of the dream, the stimulation, whatever it was called, seemed to play over and over within my head. I felt like I was going crazy. I was hearing things, abnormal things. Words, I hadn't heard before. I felt nothing but fear which tingled my body all over, identical to if one was shocked by a spark of electricity. I did not feel like myself anymore.
I gripped Mr. Sasori's hand tighter, absolutely afraid of leaving his side. The hunter before me has been nothing but good to me. He has made it his top priority to keep me safe and I was deeply grateful.
Happy.
He has saved my life. He's made me feel better, entirely better from the state I was in when I first awakened from the horrifying dream where I was tortured, harassed, raped and killed by Naruto.
I was grateful to have Sasori by my side. Internally so.
That, was the only emotion I felt that was positive and I tried so hard to hold onto it, to run away from the darkness that kept calling for me. But constantly, it tried hard to pull me back which only revealed how insane I really was.
"Run, run, little girl. You know I'll eventually catch you."
"Human girls are so frail. Just destined to get hurt."
I shook off the evil thoughts the best I could which came to me in the form of Naruto's voice. But nothing I did worked. Everytime I took a step forward, everytime I breathed, I heard him.
I couldn't escape him.
And now, he is here. In the flesh.
He found me.
In this very building where I reside, he is now roaming the halls in search of me, killing and attacking anything that gets in his way.
Screams, nothing but screams of pain and agony rang out throughout the entire building from the hunters which only brought me back to the very person I wanted to hide from. Such sounds were a constant reminder of him.
He's here to get me.
He's here to hurt me!
Naruto hasn't come here to save me from harm, he's come here to save his own life, to save his own hide.
He doesn't care about me.
Because I am connected to him, I am the key to ending his life so of course he will do anything to protect it. The hunters have threatened my life so therefore has threatened Naruto's.
No one truly wants to die after all.
Unfortunately, Naruto does not either.
I shook my head in frustration because I wanted nothing more for Naruto to disappear, to leave my life.
"You want me to do what, slut?"
At such a dark question which ran through my head loudly, it jolted me forward and I stumbled into the determined male in front of me, in shock, getting his attention in the process.
Instantly, the brave hunter snapped his head around to identify what was the matter, his eyes widening at the sight of my hyperventilating, sweaty form that slowly tried to walk onward but, I was gravely failing.
So at the sight of me in such a terrible state, the male stopped all movement and turned around to face me.
"Child, what's the matter? Are you okay? Tell me what wrong-"
"I-I-I j-j-just need a m-minute." I only whispered out uneasily, completely out of breath. I was tired of walking. I was tired of talking. I was tired of my nagging thoughts. I was tired of..
Everything.
I didn't know what to do.
And Sasori noticed the inner battle I was facing and as usual sought to comfort me. He put up a deep frown on his pale face, his hands moving forward to grab my shoulders, gripping them tight.
He sighed. "I know you're tired, Hinata. I know, you've been through hell. I know you've been through a lot so I completely understand your condition. What you need right now, is a warm bath, a hot meal and plenty of rest. But.." He looked away to look down the hall we just ventured down, his head turnt to look at what was behind. He also looked straight, checking all areas in a very quick and precise manner. But after he saw that the coast was clear he turned back to me, sending me a thin smile. "This place is not safe and I need to get you as far away from here as soon as possible and I can't afford to waste any time. So you have to hang on. You have to walk a little bit further, understand?"
Nothing but sympathy and pity was heard within Mr Sasori's voice as he tried his hardest to console me. His intentions were good and he wanted nothing more to save me but...
Why?
Why should I be saved?
What have I done to anyone? To him? Frankly, I've been a burden to everyone; literally everyone that is here inside this building. I, am the reason the very hunters within this hideout are dying.
It's because I chose to associate myself with Naruto. That's, why I am in this mess..
This, is my fault, so I shouldn't be treated so kindly.
I don't deserve it.
I don't..
Sasori should scorn me, especially since I've done awful, terrible things with his enemy. Things no teen should ever do. I've sinned more than any adult has. He, should feel disgusted by me and yet.. I lowered my head away from the red haired male in front of me, refusing to meet his gaze. I just couldn't after all.
My lips trembled. "I-I-I don't deserve-" But I couldn't get the words out because of a loud roar that erupted from behind me which made my entire body jump in fright, a loud yelp springing itself from my mouth by such a loud sound. Just from hearing such a thing, I began to freak out. But Sasori made it his mission to calm me down.
The red-haite hunter held me protectively while staring down the hall in which we just walked at the unknown individual that now stood rooted behind me, the culprit who let out such a terrifying noise from earlier.
"Sasori!"
"There you are!"
Over and over, my body trembled and trembled like a leaf in a hurricane. My defenseless legs quivered, threatening to just give out. Wet, hot tears began to prick at my side, just desperate to spill. But Sasori never left my side or let me go, in fact he held me tighter.
"It's okay. I have you. Just, get behind me." Such a command sounded like heaven to my ears and so I quickly went to do just that.
Sliding across the floor with my bare feet in a panic, I slipped my sweaty body behind the male I now trusted with all of my heart, gripping his hunter's coat for dear life.
With my lavender eyes, I used them to peek around him to stare back at the four men that blocked the hall ahead of us, all eyes directed at the red haired male that saved me.
Hate, vengeance and betrayal was held in the eyes of the four newcomers which made me even more uneasy. Slowly, I inspected the four men that were now upon us. But the only male I could identify is the orange haired hunter who stood in front of all the rest of the men. For he, was the one who helped kidnap and poison me. He, was the one that tore my mind apart.
The male that called all the shots.
The male that forced that horrible dream upon me.
Right then and there, I began to lose it, just at the mere sight of the hunter before me. I began to feel faint, a strong feeling of nausea taking over my senses. But I tried my best to hold on. I didn't want to burden Mr. Sasori.
Not anymore then I already have.
The leader of all the demon hunters stood seething from afar, hands balled together tightly. His orange hair was sweaty, sticking to his forehead and slightly covering his eyes which lets me know he had taken extreme measures in order to find the man that stood before me. And by the stern looks of the other three men that stood behind him, I'd say Mr. Sasori was in trouble.
My eyes widened.
Oh no.
But my inner thoughts were cut off once I heard the enemy talk, finally enlightening me on what's going on.
The leader stepped forward and let out a deep growl. But Sasori in response, grabbed my arms from where I stood behind him and took a step back also.
The orange haired male paused in his movement at such an action, his enraged brown orbs narrowing upon Sasori. He lowered his eyes to stare back at me from where I hid, freezing me to the spot. He scowled. "I hope saving that girl was worth it. For you know betraying me, betraying your people, will bring you a punishment worse than death, Sasori." He spat darkly, promising the male before me agonizing pain and torment. He was going to suffer for his deeds which made me grow even more guilty.
I whimpered, burrowing my head into the male's backside before me. Sasori, gripped my arms tighter, pressing his fingers into my skin.
The red-haired man whipped his head around to face what was in front of him, scowling back at his leader. "Oh, I am fully aware of what I did and I would surely do it again if the situation so happens to arise once more. Because I, have done nothing but save an innocent teenage girl from suffering. I, saved her from being killed by your hands! I didn't do anything wrong!"
A whimper slipped from my lips upon hearing such words, words that damaged me, that hurt me. And just like that, tears began to fall from my eyes down my cheeks, my heart now broken into a million different pieces. I was in disbelief. I couldn't believe that I've undergone something so terrible, something so evil.
Something so unforgivable.
I, almost died. If it wasn't for a kind-hearted soul like Sasori to fight against his orders and instead help me, I would have been..
Dead.
More tears shed down my face, now pouring more viciously than it once was.
This is insane.
I couldn't believe it and yet...
I remember everything.
In my shattered, broken mind, I remember the entire event in which I suffered from, for hours. For what seemed like an eternity, I was stuck in a dream, sedated so I was forced to sleep, and live in a world where I was haunted by my ex demon lover.
No way will I ever forgive the hunters for this.
This is abominable.
Horrific.
So I stood, crying silently behind Sasori who was engaged in a quarrel with his leader.
The orange haired male threw up one finger, pointing at him sternly. "You've made a big mistake. I did you a favor by letting you off of this mission-"
Sasori snorted, cutting the enraged orange-haired hunter off. "Oh please. Save me the lies. You only let me go so you could freely go about doing your selfish deeds. You knew from the start I would hate this plan so you wanted me out of the way. You didn't care about me or Itachi. No one. And so, this entire outcome, what's happened here today, is your own fault. You, have brought us here, boss." Sasori growled out, taking another step back, also taking me with him.
He narrowed his eyes "You're the leader of this ship but instead of stirring us towards salvation, you've stirred us down straight to hell and now, we all will pay the ultimate price." His brown eyes hardened, his face tightened in fury. "Because of you."
With those words, the male before us finally snapped, unleashing his inner indignation towards the two of us. His face looked terrifying as he stared back at us with two stone-cold eyes, cheeks locked.
He tilted his head, throwing his finger up to point at us again. "That girl is mine, ya here me? And when I get a hold of her, I, will put an end to this lunacy myself. I, will finish what I started."
And by his words, it alerted Sasori to make a move. So quickly, he whipped his body around to give my quivering body a push backwards, his eyes widened in panic.
"Go! Run, Hinata. Hide!"
Over and over he shouted those same words while the hunters that stood behind him began to make their way towards him with an intent to apprehend Sasori and, to harm me.
So obediently, I complied and I ran like hell.
The lunatic hunter from before let out a gasp upon seeing that I was escaping, limping and wobbling down the hall in an attempt to flee.
"Gah, Ramsey, get her! Don't let her get away!" He roared, giving the male to his right the task he ordered. But I didn't care what was happening behind me. I didn't even bother to look. I just kept running.
I ran and ran, turning down a hall which granted me nothing but white. The halls seemed endless, never ending. This place had so many halls, so many floors, it was confusing to know where you are without some kind of map.
So blindly, I ran, just like in my dream, I ran down identical hallways, steadily looking for a place...
To hide.
"Oh no, no, no, darling. Have you forgotten? You can't run or hide!"
Immediately upon hearing such a thing within my head, I lost my footing and from there I went falling helplessly upon the shiny floor which steadily rattled due to the carnage that was going on within the building.
Now, my body laid hyperventilating on the floor, frozen to it's spot on the ground. I couldn't move. I didn't have any more energy to do so. Thus, I only settled on lying there, to hopefully catch my breath to soon, resume running.
Naruto's P.O.V
"Ahh! Help! Help!!
Feminine screams flooded out into the hallway as I was busy tearing into a huntress's neck with my razor sharp teeth from behind, her body trapped within my hold so she couldn't escape. Growls steadily escaped my bloody lips as I consumed her blood and flesh for my very own, regaining my strength and energy.
But I couldn't do it for long because I felt a jolt of electricity shoot through my body from where a hunter hit my arm with a pole stick which was the weapon that harbored such electricity.
I gritted my teeth at the unpleasant feeling but I actually yelped when I felt it again and this time, I was driven away from my meal and onto the floor. Another hunter had swung an electricity pole straight across my face which left severe burn marks. But the injury vanished as soon as it came, healing as if it never happened.
I growled viciously from where I laid on the floor, my eyes staring through my blonde bangs at the three hunters that were approaching me with metal poles, swinging them round and round to intimidate me.
The woman I previously was feasting from was now lying limply against the wall behind her comrades, her eyes fixated on the ground before her. But the irritating sight of her was that she was..
Breathing.
But not for long.
She was going to die. The large, bloody gash that was embedded deep into her neck was one that was too deadly. She won't be able to make it while harboring such an injury.
I smirked darkly, deeply taking a liking that the woman was suffering. She picked a great fight. She was awfully skilled so it felt grand to finally see her in such a state.
But that, was one attribute I was beginning to pick up on.
The hunters are growing more skillful.
The further Kurama and I journey inside the hunters hideout, the more difficult it is to take down the said hunters.
I can't believe I was saying this but showcasing such skill was impressive seeing the fools were just human. They were beginning to move more quicker to where they could keep up with my speed and if they couldn't, they used weapons to slow me down. Ones I've never seen before. But it wasn't anything Kurama and I couldn't handle. We've dropped tons of bodies before we've made it onto floor three and from where we were standing, the hunters were growing angry.
I chuckled, keeping my eyes rooted on the hunters who were approaching my stiff body with caution, now in defensive mode.
Good. Anger only fuels me, fools.
And such an emotion was leaking off of the very people that surrounded me. Hatred, disgust, disdain. I felt it all and I loved every second of feeling such emotions.
I licked my lips, slowly peeling myself from the floor so now I was posted up on my two arms and knees, my hands resting flat on the cold floor.
My eyes were planted directly on the three beings that stepped carefully towards me, my gaze freezing them still. They were being cautious which was a good move, I give them that.
But it isn't good enough.
So with that, I began to fight again. But before I did, I planned a sneak attack.
Before the three hunters could even blink, I threw up one balled hand and summoned a fist full of fire their way which caught them by surprise.
The fire was blaring hot and burned up anything in its path, working like waves towards the three humans. But once again, I underestimated them. All three swiftly jumped out of the way, effortlessly dodging my sneak attack and to only branch out to fight again.
Two hunters began running towards me while one of them hung back to scoop up the woman I injured earlier, my eyes glancing over at them as they then, left the scene.
I clicked my tongue, my eyes glancing back at the two hunters that were now upon me. Quickly, I sent my body rolling across the floor to dodge an attack from one of those electric poles which was such an annoying weapon.
I have to rid them of it.
So, pulling my hands behind me on the ground from where I laid, I effortlessly pushed my body back onto its feet with a jump. After leaping to my feet, I didn't waste a single second and from there, I flung myself towards the two hunters.
I threw two fast punches, my fists balled tightly, so tightly my claws sunk into my skin. But I didn't feel anything. The adrenaline rush I felt was too strong so I only wanted to feel my fists connect with one of the male's faces.
But the two seemed skilled in defense for they dodged my attacks without any struggle.
I threw my fist over towards the male on my right who side stepped the hit, my leg flying over to the male on my left who simply grabbed my foot and tossed it away.
And in response, I shot a balled fist over towards him and let out another searing burst of fire which seemed to occupy him.
I put up a satisfied smirk before twisting my body to kick the male on my right who foolishly grabbed my leg as well, in result dropping his weapon.
But because I already saw his move coming, I easily worked my way out of his hold. So with another twist of my body and with pulling myself up in the air a bit, I used my free leg to kick the male directly in the face which threw him completely off of his game.
The kick was fierce as I swung it across the air and directly into his face, my heavy boot making direct contact with it. The kick was so harsh, I heard the male's jaw snap loudly. Even his partner heard it.
The male screamed in pure agony and went falling to the floor with a defeated thud. But I wasn't finished with him yet.
Just as he fell, I moved my body forward to position myself directly onto his backside. Now, I was sitting on him which caused the male to gasp and heave, my massive weight driving him into the floor harshly. I laughed amusingly at his reactions and moved one clawed hand down to grab his dark brown hair, pulling it up so his neck was exposed. The male whined at the feel of the harsh grip I had on his hair but I ignored his cries.
Famished as I was, I didn't wait to go in for the kill, my mouth dropping wide which revealed my long sharp teeth which seeped down like snake fangs. And with them, I dived straight into my target, chomping down onto his exposed flesh with a means to satisfy my belly.
But his companion wasn't having that. He had recovered from my attack but fortunately did not win against it. The right side of his thigh was burnt from previously dodging the ball of fire I had thrown at him earlier. Now, the hot element was busy eating away at the walls behind him, slowly but surely tearing the walls, no, the building apart.
Now the male had a limp but it didn't stop him from trying to save his screaming friend.
He let out a battle cry before throwing his hand into his coat pocket to retrieve a handgun. "Argh! You won't win, demon! Not now, not today, not ever!" He screamed as if his life depended on it. But I found such lunacy hilarious, my mouth continuously chomping at the wiggling man's neck underneath me. And all the while I stared up at the other hunter with my crimson eyes, sending him a look of pure mischief.
I was baiting him. The chomp of my teeth grew more aggressive, my head shaking back and forth as I ripped more and more flesh away from the male's throat.
The hunter before me gasped by my action and quickly pulled up his gun to shoot at me. But his behavior was one that rivaled a lunatic. His finger repeatedly began to pull the trigger to his gun which caused bullets, numerous bullets to fly straight towards me. But I made no move to escape.
I sat right on the limp human below me as silver bullets flew straight through my chest, neck, arms and even my face. But like before, I felt...
Nothing.
My body rejected the bullets, healing faster unlike anything before so my skin was simply tossing the bullets from my body and onto the floor which caused loud clicking sounds to arise.
But the crazy man didn't stop shooting. He kept walking closer and closer to my sitting form while continuously shooting round after round which inevitably led to the same event. His bullets did nothing to me and his act of bravery was rather...
Moronic.
It seems he wants me to take his life. It seems he was begging for me to end him so..
I shall.
So while sneakily creeping my hand towards the huntress's fallen weapon behind me, I kept my gaze upon the male that now took his place in front of me, all the while shooting his precious weapon. But once he placed the gun directly on the center of my forehead and tried to pull the trigger once more, a loud click was heard. Over and over again which indicated that the foolish buffon had..
No bullets left.
He let out a surprised gasp while I only laughed, a satanic laugh. And before he knew it, the long hunter's sword I previously was reaching for was now forced through his stomach, my body towering over him. No longer was I sitting. No longer was I feeding. I was now upon the foolish male who groaned loudly in pain from being impaled by such a long and sharp object. But I didn't end it there.
I wanted to have some fun with him.
So while pushing his body towards the wall in front of me, I pulled the sword out of his body to only place it across his throat which he scrambled up for, using his hands to try to stop me. But I was much stronger.
My hands forced the sharp end of the knife against his throat which let off several gulps, his body trembling in agony underneath my strong hold. "G-Gahh. F-Fuck." He whispered out as he sensed his end draw near, a brutal end at that. My intentions were clear.
I wanted, his head.
I pulled my other hand down onto the handle of the sword to force it against the pathetic strength of the male's, so in result, the weapon raced forward, closer to his throat. I laughed, directly within his face to see his doom enclose him, my mouth covered with his comrades blood, dripping onto the ground we stood on.
I gave my lips a quick lip, relishing the sweet taste of the metallic substance that was there while staring at the hunter deeply within the eye, taking in his entire expression and savoring it within my brain. His lips were quivering, his lower body antsy as he tried to fight back. But he only failed.
My laughs were taunting, dark and downright evil. But I didn't care. I marveled at the hopelessness on his face, the anguish. It made my skin tingle. It made me excited.
I let out a gruff moan, my crimson eyes darkening mischievously. "Hah, you talked a big game a while back. Where did all that fight go, huh? I whispered out, tormenting the trembling hunter which only worsened the fear in his eyes.
He swallowed, shaking his head. Sweat profusely dripped down his face as our hands shook back and forth, fighting against the sword which was still rooted against his neck, now cutting into his skin, drawing blood.
He pressed his lips firmly together, staring back at me with narrowed eyes. Now so suddenly, he seemed less afraid which angered me.
He growled raucously, "You won't win this battle, demon. It doesn't m-matter how many of us you kill. No matter how much carnage you bring. We will rise. We will always have brethren to fill the place of the fallen. Because unlike your family, we hunters are unstoppable- And just like that, I cut the male's words off by forcing the sword forward with all of might, breaking through his hold to instead cut into his neck which silenced him. The sword made a clean cut through since it was so sharp which caused the head of the hunter to slip straight off of his shoulders, falling over and landing onto the floor with a splat. His body followed suit, nothing but blood shooting out of the stump as it fell to its knees.
And with that, I was left with silence, my hands dropping the now bloody sword onto the floor with the rest of the carnage I had done. I snorted, wrinkling my nose down at the headless hunter by my feet. I let out a scoff. "Such filth." I whispered in a blood rage, angered by his earlier statement; bothered by his last words.
"Unlike your family, we hunters are unstoppable-"
I snarled, throwing a punch at the wall I stood beside. "Those hunters will pay for what they've done to me. I will kill every last one of them and I will show absolutely no, mercy." I whispered out darkly, setting a vow, one that I aim to achieve.
And so with that promise in mind, I allowed myself to calm down, a sigh slipping from my mouth in response.
And once I was calm, I gave the hall located towards my left a look which was where Kurama was busy fighting with a few other hunters. Earlier, we decided it was best to split up since the hunters were all coming at us in sizes that were a bit arduous. We had to split up to level the playing field.
And so now, I was done with my share so it was time to move up a level.
I wonder who's waiting for me there.
I licked my lips before taking my legs up and over the headless hunter on the ground to instead work my way further up the hallway, my body wobbling back and forth due to all the excitement I was experiencing.
I told Kurama I would stay sane for him since his reasoning was right. It isn't safe to just run amuck within the enemy's zone. I had to be careful, alert and attentive.
The hunters were beginning to grow stronger so I need to be on my peas's and cues all the time.
So with that I nodded to myself, my feet stomping the ground as I walked onward. I had faith that Kurama would win his battles and in the end meet back up with me.
But now, I was beginning to think more of Hinata, my mind was constantly on her and I began to worry.
I really hope she's okay.
I was hoping that her precious friends had made it to her, to get her far away from this place but, I narrowed my eyes.
There's only one way to be sure.
So, I did what I always have done.
I took a peek through Hinata's eyes.
With my own eyes closed, I thought deeply of her, my eyes flickering back and forth from underneath my eyelids.
And soon, I was thrown into a world that was not my own. My eyes were now staring back out into another part of the hideout but it seemed the being that possessed such eyes..
Hinata.
Was huddling on the floor, crawling. Her hands clawed the floor as if she was in agony, pulling herself forward in an attempt to move. It seemed she was having trouble moving her body. Also, distantly my ears could pick up her quiet little whimpers, also slight whispers.
"Ahh. Get out of my head. Get out."
Her words confused me as well as worried me dearly. And now that I watched her through her eyes, I also could see how much she trembled which was something severe. It was a condition worse than just someone frightened. No, it's more than that.
I sense that something is terribly wrong.
I snapped my eyes open on that note and let out a curse in frustration. "Fuck. Oh no, my precious little one." I whispered out in whimpers, my heart aching to see my poor human in pain.
Was she injured?
I didn't feel any pain and even now, I didn't feel like I was about to die. I felt perfectly fine. My health is far better now that I've fed so..
What is it?
I spared a glance at my clothing, at my body which was covered in blood that was not my own, the substances splattered all over me like tie dye. Now, I wasn't looking as sexy as I once was. Now I looked like a fucking monster.
But I cared less about that. All I thought about was...
Hinata.
I bit my lip harshly, all movement now at a halt as I just processed what I just saw on her side.
Damn it, what should I do?
Her friends haven't clearly gotten to her yet so she's somewhere in this building alone, afraid and in desperate need of help.
I need to go to her.
And I need to go now!
So with that, I was now following a new plan. My old plan of just killing all the hunters and leaving the task to find Hinata to the cheer squad was all
over.
I will find her myself.
I, will ensure her safety all on my own.
And so from there, I began to walk again, my pace soon picking up until I was sprinting.
My blonde hair flopped, up and down, as I journeyed through the halls, now in a search for Hinata. My speed was fast, my legs kicking into gear which worked me forward in no time and right up the stairs so I was now on the next floor.
The fourth floor.
I breathed heavily, looking onward, down the hall which I know will be filled with hunters that will do everything in their power to stop me but..
Nothing will.
Nothing will ever stop me from finding my, Hinata..
Temari's P.O.V
Panting and out of breath, my green eyes shot everywhere around the large, shaky hideout I was in. Ino and Sakura stood close beside me as we steadily ventured through in search of Hinata, my hands gripping there's tightly, holding them close. So far, we could tell that the demon's spell was working.
No one could see us.
Many hunters dressed in cloudy black and redcoats had run straight by us as if we weren't there at all. No one knew we were even inside the building with them. We were at a total advantage.
But, we had a slight problem.
Standing on floor four, we continuously looked around for Hinata. We looked in every room we passed by, searched down every hall and even worked ourselves up to each floor to find her but..
We haven't had any luck.
I let out a deep swallow as we walked down an empty hallway to see what was down it. But as we walked, we could clearly hear the loud screams of pain and death on the floor below us which caused all three of us to flinch and cringe.
Sakura stood trembling from where she was walking beside me, her sweaty hand gripping mine tighter. "I-I don't like this, Temari. The screams are j-j-just terrible. They won't stop." Sakura whispered out, voicing her concern which granted my attention. I turned to her from where we walked slowly down a lone hallway which seemed to stretch on for miles. But so far at looking, we know that Hinata wasn't on floor four.
Maybe she's on floor five.
But for now, I only wanted to comfort Sakura. I gave my pink haired friend a faint smile before giving the top of her hand a rub with my thumb. "I know, Sakura. This shit is no joke but we can't think about it. The demon is occupying the hunters so we can find Hinata. The plan is in effect so now all we have to do is hurry and get to Hinata.
"Wherever she is. It literally seems like she's nowhere." Ino butted in by a mutter, whimpering underneath he breath. I whipped my head over to her and frowned.
Ino was right.
It seemed no matter how much we looked, it seemed we always failed in finding her.
Goodness. Where could she be?
Is someone hiding her? Has she left the building? Has she evacuated? Is she fleeing, running away within these halls?
I had so many questions and yet, there was no one around that could help us. So the best thing to do was..
Press onward.
We have many other floors ahead of us to search so maybe..
Hinata's on one of them.
So with that, I tightened my hand on my friend's hands while walking onward, soon entering a section on this particular hall which began to open up, growing larger.
But we paid it no mind. We only continued to walk forward.
I turned to both of my friends, giving them a smile to reassure them. "Girls, I know you two are worried but I have faith that we can find and save Hinata. We have plenty of floors to search, so please, don't give up hope. Hinata needs us and we have to be there for her. We have to."
My walking came to a stop on that note and I took a step in front of Ino and Sakura, letting go of each of their hands.
I watched the two nod to my words, their movement also coming to a stop.
"Yeah, you're right." Ino whispered.
Sakura frowned. "I-I know we should be brave, that we should fight through this for the sake of Hinata but..." I watched as the frightened girl took a look around, trembling still due to our environment and the chaos that was going on inside it.
She turned back to me and sobbed. "I'm scared shitless. I j-j-just want to get Hinata and go as far away from here-"
"And we will. We will, Sakura." I whispered comfortingly while reading for both of her hands, now staring directly into her teary light green eyes. The fear was evident in those orbs of her which pained me.
Yes, this situation was nerve wracking and honestly scary as hell but we have to pull through.
Hinata has been through so, so much worse so I know we can at least get through this.
So with that in mind, I turned to Sakura, my hands lightly rubbing hers. "Sakura, Hinata really needs our help. Hinata, has been through hell. She has experienced far worse than what we have. So th-the least we can do as her friends, as her loved ones, is fight through this and be by her side. We cannot back down now. No matter what." My words were stern and serious. I tried my hardest to summon up some courage within Sakura since she was so scared. Fear was consuming her, growing stronger within her heart and that, will jeopardize our mission.
We won't be able to save Hinata that way.
So as the guardian of the girl group, as the protector, it is my mission to help and comfort my friends.
Ino stood beside Sakura with a small smile on her face, nodding to my words to show she agreed with what I said. She was managing well here in this hellhole which was a pleasant sight to see. I watched her closely as she then turned to comfort Sakura, physically. She pulled her hand up to rub the pink-haired back in circles, caressing her to hopefully soothe her nerves.
But by the way her eyes widened, I'd said my words and Ino's kind gesture worked.
Sakura put up a faint smile and let out a laugh. "God, you girls are right. I-I'm letting fear cloud my head. We need to save Hinata no matter what. We've come too far to just quit now."
"Exactly! Hinata's waiting on us!" Ino added in excitedly which made me smile, deeply glad to see the girls were back on board.
Now that's one step closer to finding Hinata.
So with that, I gave a satisfied nod and I turned around, resuming back walking.
"Well let's go then! We have so many floors to search and we can't waste any time." I declared earnesty, wanting nothing mow to get back to our task.
Ino responded by pumping her fists in the air, her mouth letting out a sound that resembled a siren. Now, everyone was ready, completely determined to achieve our task.
"Yes, let's do this! "Hinata, here we come!"
Elsewhere
Somewhere In The Hideout..
Low clicks of a male's boot could be heard as he ventured slowly throughout a hall that was littered with dead bodies.
Dead hunters.
But the silver haired man looked unfazed by his surroundings. He simply walked onward, pulling his foot over a battered and torn corpse of a comrade he worked beside..
But the male cared less about the carnage around him. He only cared for his task.
His mission was unlike anyone else's. He was done with following Yahiko's orders because his plans have all...
Failed.
His boss has become unreliable so now, the male has taken it upon himself to do the task his boss couldn't even do.
Kill Hinata Hyuga.
A pocket knife was rooted within the inside of his coat which is the weapon he planned to use to kill the girl with.
A wide, maniacal grin pulled at the tan male's face, his shoes constantly clicking the bloody floor as he walked.
He licked his lips. "It shouldn't be too hard to kill a sixteen year old human. Just one slice of the neck would do and only then, Naruto can return back to hell. Easy peasy, am I right?" He stopped to only bend down to a corpse on the ground, his finger pointing at it as if it would respond to his question.
The man was a complete lunatic but he didn't care. He actually found the new trait of his..
Useful..
With it, he knew he would get the job done without any emotions getting in the way. And besides, he cared less about the girl.
He only saw her as a whore, a cock sleeve for the enemy.
For Naruto.
He didn't care about the girl's life, only the connection she had with Naruto. He was desperate to have it completely severed.
And he wasn't going to stop for anyone.
Not for Yahiko.
And sure as hell, not for the girl.
Today was judgment day and for the girl, Hidan, was going to be, her judge.
But unfortunately for her, he will enforce a punishment for her sinful deeds and that was one thing and one thing only...
Execution.
