The two guys stared at each other like they were caught in a trance. Mika looking at the wild, overgrown dark hair that matched the deep blue eyes and plump rosy lips. Meanwhile, Cody was lost in his caramel eyes and freckles that accented his strong jaw. It seemed like the staring would last forever as they studied each other's faces until "Ehm, excuse me, earth to Cody and Mika, hello?" Cody shook his head as he stopped staring. He looked at the cash register abruptly and turned a pale pink.

"Cody, act like he just walked in, and I'm in the back," Bumble spoke from where he was situated on one of the bar stools to watch.

"Welcome to Bumble's Bakery and Café, what would you like me to get you?" Cody barely managed to not stumble over his every word. He was also supposed to look the customer in the eyes, but instead, he was looking at the opposing male's white shirt.

Mika had to think about what his usual order consisted of. "I'll take the…. Honey Cream Latte and a bag of Cherry Blossom Filos'' Cody nodded and took the order. "You can sit at a booth till it's done." Mika nodded and went to look outside from a nearby booth.

Cody had already made some Filos that morning, so Bumble went to get them as Cody started on the latte. Bumble exited the swinging door, placed the bag of pastries on the counter, and then walked over next to Cody.

"He's hot, isn't he?" Bumble said as he had his back leaned against the wall, looking at Cody as the ravenette choked and gained a red hue, but still held the lever for the coffee.

"Eh, what!?" Cody looked at Bumble in confusion. "What, I was just vocalizing what you were thinking." Bumble said casually like calling another guy hot in public was fine. "No, I wasn't!"

"Sure, that's why you've been staring at him as he sits at the booth doing nothing," Bumble pointed out, and Cody became more flustered. "Uh, well, er," Cody closed his eyes as he felt more blood rushing to his face.

"Watch the cup," Bumble said, causing Cody to open his eyes, noticing the cup was almost full. He let go of the lever and pulled away. "Are you gay Cody?" Cody coughed at this like he was losing a lung.

"WHAT!?" He yelled before covering his mouth and sitting on the cold floor so Mika couldn't see him thanks to the counter. Cody twiddled his fingers together as he looked at Bumble, who also slid down. "Yeah," he said, burying his head in his knees. "That's cool, so you like Mika?" Cody was caught off by the casualness of telling a guy he was attracted to his male friend.

"I guess he's attractive. Do you like him? Cause you've known him longer and I-" He was stopped by Bumble putting a finger to his mouth. "No no, I'm aro ace" By Mika's confused expression he decided to explain "Aromantic and Asexual, it means I have little to no romantic or sexual attraction to anyone, but I can still tell when a person's attractive."

Cody blushed. “I’m not attracted to him,” he says, standing back up before, putting the cream into the coffee and snapping the lid onto it, walking back to the register in an attempt to end the conversation.

“Here you go, sir.” the ravenette called out, setting the cup down and brushing his hair out of his eyes. Mika looked up and walked over to the register happily.

“T-Thank you.” Mika stutters, staring at the brunette in what he hopes is a subtle manner.

“Well, that’ll be $5.30,” Cody says, flustered but becoming somewhat annoyed with the strawberry blonde’s presence for messing with him. It only brought on an uncomfortable atmosphere thanks to Bumble and his openness during a week he would rather not have experienced by now. At least, it was Saturday.

Mika paid, but he didn't leave immediately, trying to build up the courage to ask for Cody’s number, only because the other seemed stressed.

Even though he didn’t seem all too friendly at the time, he knew Bumble wouldn’t have hired an asshole so it must've just been his week. And he was kind of… pretty, in a straight way, of course.

“Do you need something?” Cody asks, trying to sound angry, but it comes out sounding genuine, and he mentally cursed himself for not sounding more annoyed.

“Yeah, I was wondering if I could maybe get your number. You seem kind of upset right now, but I’d like to get to know you better and maybe help if I can?” Mika says, smiling awkwardly.

Even though the brunette wanted to snap at the other male, he can’t find it in him to be upset with the strawberry blonde. Giving into his sweet smile, Cody reciprocates his kindness, handing Mika his phone, letting him know to put his number in.

Mika’s previously apprehensive facial expression breaks out into a full grin as he sees the shorter’s smile for the first time.

"By the way!" Bumble chimed in, causing Cody to panic."You guys go to the same school, you know!" Bumble smiled for the two of them as he brought that fact up.

"Really, oh that's nice, I could show you around the school on Monday, maybe even around town!" Mika said as if there was never any awkwardness or apprehension between the two.

"Um yeah, thanks," Cody said, taking back his phone, trying not to drop it as his heartbeat accelerated.

"Well, see you later, Bumble, and I hope to see you around Cody!" Mika said with a wave before leaving with his coffee and bag of Cherry Blossom Filos. All Cody could do was wave back before crumbling to the floor again. "I'm staying on baking duty."
