Chapter 3.1: {Sun and Sky}: Nonsense...
As always Akk was the first to wake up. In Akk's opinion, though smart, Ayan was always a bit lazy. That's just who he was.
Akk had already spent three nights at Ayan's house. And yet all three times, Akk was the one to wake up first.
Akk sat up and his gaze automatically went to Ayan. He looked so beautiful even in his sleep. Unknowingly, Akk's face lit up, his lips lifted up to form a shy smile as if he wasn't supposed to see that mesmerizing sight. Ayan's back was turned towards the wall, his hands wrapped around Akk's arms like a koala, not wanting to let go of the tree.
Even before Akk was considered Ayan's friend, he had secretly admired Ayan, though he never expressed it or Ayan would tease him about it every single day.
"Are you so in love with me? You keep staring and smiling at my face," Said Ayan. Ayan always knew what Akk was doing and Akk always got caught. Akk sometimes even wondered if Ayan was actually a human being. How did he know every single thing Akk was doing or about to do?
"Nonsense," Akk had murmured. Akk used that word so many times with Ayan that Aye had every conversation with him preserved in his mind. That's how much Aye knew him. Whenever Ayan made a flirty remark, Akk would turn his face away, panic silently and mumble 'nonsense!'.
But it didn't stop Ayan anyhow from flirting with the man. He liked his reaction. He liked how Akk was never taught about the phrase, 'the more you deny something, the more the other person will be convinced that it's true'.
Ayan liked it and deep down, he knew Akk did too. He fixed his posture to lean on his hand on the bed and looked at Akk's panicking face. He's always just so cute. "Get up!" Akk yelled suddenly, hitting Ayan's arm to move Ayan who was looking at his flustered red cheeks.
Obeying Akk's remark, Aye got up from the bed and Akk followed after. "It's the weekend. Can't you stay here today?" Ayan asked as he walked his way towards the dining room along with Akk.
"No!!" Akk yelled, unnecessarily loudly before realizing his tone and trying to come up with an excuse. "I-I have homework to do," Akk mumbled.
Ayan nodded while the smile he wore turned just a bit pale. Akk did notice the change of expression but he didn't think much of it. He was always clueless. "Such a shame. I could spend some more time with you," Ayan murmured and took a seat on the couch.
Akk followed after and sat on the couch silently as if uncomfortable. He rubbed his hands and legs as Aye looked at him with clear confusion. "You don't have to eat with us if you don't want to, you know? I can drop you off at yours," Ayan mumbled, getting closer to Akk.
"That's not it. Your parents..." Akk started but didn't continue. The two nights he stayed with Ayan before was when both of his parents were out of town for some reason. It was the first time he was going to have food with Ayan's parents.
"Oh, you don't have to worry about them. They're cool," Ayan replied, his hand resting on the arm of the couch as he leaned backwards, just enough to sit comfortably.
"But..." Akk tried to say but Aye consoled him by rubbing his arm. Overthinking was one of the bad habits of Akk and it didn't matter how much he wanted to avoid it, he always ended up doing so. In a minute, Ayan's dad came with a few bowls of food in his hand. He silently pressed the food on the table in front of the couch.
While steam was still coming out of the food, Kongpob dragged a chair to take a seat. To make the atmosphere a bit less awkward, he started speaking. "How is Ayan at school, Akk?" He asked. Akk silently chuckled, hearing the question. Though Ayan was smart, he never really paid attention to classes and always got in trouble which Akk assumed that his parents didn't know about. In class, Aye was always busy staring at Akk.
"He's... good." Akk mumbled while his eyes were fixed on Ayan who was almost giving him a death glare. Kongpob shook his head slowly, looking at the two.
"Does he have any other friends, Akk?" Kongpob asked again. Akk's face turned pale again. He looked at Ayan for the possible answer. Akk didn't know why the word 'friend' used with Ayan hurt him so much but it just did.
"I don't, dad. Akk's my bestest friend," Here. Ayan said it too. They're friends. Best friends. Akk may not feel the same way but that's what they're supposed to be, best friends.
But Akk didn't say anything. As always, he pretended that nothing happened, that he was not upset in any way. He grabbed the bowl of food which stood in front of him and started gulping the meat balls down.
Both Kongpob and Ayan looked at him with surprise but he looked too upset to say anything. "Isn't the food hot, Akk?" Kongpob asked and Akk immediately opened his mouth as if gasping for air, finally coming back to senses and realizing that the food was still burning hot. He coughed aloud, blowing hot air from his mouth.
Ayan passed the glass of water towards him before Akk grabbed it and chugged all the water down. "Eat slowly na," Ayan mumbled, looking at Akk and slowly leaned forward to wipe some food off of Akk's mouth, smiling. "Are you a little baby or what?" Ayan pressed and focused back on his food. Akk was left more than just speechless. His cheeks automatically turned red as he looked around again, panicking. "Nonsense."
After the breakfast, Ayan dropped Akk at his house. Akk laid on his bed, his legs swinging along the bed slowly as he remembered the moments he just had with Ayan.
Is he really just his friend? Does he think of him as his friend? He asked those questions to himself but he couldn't answer them. He didn't know the answers. He didn't know what else he could have thought of Ayan if not friends or enemies. But he knew Ayan was special. He was not like any other sky Akk had been the sun of.
But Ayan shouldn't even be his friend in the first place. Then why was he special? Why should he reserve a special place in Akk's heart? Akk still didn't understand. Why did his heart have a special place for Ayan? Shouldn't he have a worse place? Akk didn't understand his heart. He just didn't. Why did his heart always have to beat so fast when he's with Ayan? Couldn't it be someone else?
To stop himself from overthinking, Akk looked out the window. The sun's shining. The clouds were covering the sky. He tried to console himself, maybe it's just the sun getting attached to the sky, just like how right then it was.

Kan's worried about his friend. He was acting strange those days. Sitting on the couch, he thought to himself. Was Ayan trying to get Akk on his side? And since when were they friends?
Could it be something else? Something he didn't know about? Something Akk was hiding from them? Since Ayan joined the school, Akk was slowly starting to distance himself from Wat and Kan. It's as if they were drifting apart. Not only that, Akk had been extra moody. Did Ayan have any ulterior motive?
Annoying himself into thinking about ridiculousness, Kan brushed off the worry. Ayan might not be completely on their side but Kan just knew that he was not a bad person. He wouldn't do anything bad to Akk.
Sitting on the couch and playing with his own hair, Kan picked up his phone and scrolled through Line. He didn't have many messages. Except a few from Thua. Kan stumbled on the school roundabout walkway the other day and sprained his ankle. Thua was asking how he was doing.
When he fell, Thua was the only one who noticed and after, Thua was also the only one asking him about it though many others saw him falling as well. Thua was always sweet and caring. No wonder Kan liked him so much.

A/n: I didn't want to change the Akk we knew so I didn't. I kept his character as he was and rumbled the story up a little bit. Hope you guys liked this chapter!
