Carrie lifted the machine from the table.

"Success! I finally did it!!!" she said in joy. "I have the ability to travel through time and space!!!

The machine was very similar to a TV remote. It had many different buttons. Sone were for traveling through time, but some were for traveling to different universes. The number buttons were for the years.

"I shall call it the Literal Universal Remote! Or LUR for short (pronounced as lure)." Carrie said.

Carrie needed to wait for when the time was right to show everyone. Including Mrs. Kankerbottom.

She decided to keep it secret from Mrs. K for now, because she knew Mrs. K hated being proven wrong.

During school, Carrie took LUR to show some of the kids at recces. However, she didn't have a lot of friends and her best friend went missing a few days ago. They were very close.

On the way back to the orphanage, she took a shortcut to the shed. She had made a huge mistake.

"Alright you little brats! Line up for after-school rolecall!" Mrs. Kankerbottom yelled

She pulled out a clipboard of all the orphans names and started reading them out loud.

"Jenny is here, Ed is here, Carrie is...." Mrs. Kankerbottom then stopped and looked around with a cranky look on her face.

"Where is Carrie?" She asked.

No one replied for they were nervous and were just plain unsure.

"You!" She said as she pointed her wrinkly, wart covered finger at Jimmy. He was like an average teachers pet to her at times.

"I-I-I d-don't k-know m-ma'am" he stuttered "M-maybe she t-took a shortc-cut to the old s-shed?" He was shaking.

Mrs Kankerbottom gave him a happy grin and said "Thank you sweetie!" She then turned aroumd to walk to the shed and yelled "Go inside!" and everyone darted inside. She knew Carrie was going to have a BAD TIME.

Carrie had been also working on a device that project holograms of musical instruments, a stereo and more! It can also be used as a portable phone charger. It uses solar and stable nuclear power that she perfected. She called it "The Many Thing Orb".

Suddenly the door was kicked open. Carrie jumped up and saw Mrs. Kankerbottom at the door with an evil expression on her face.

"You missed rolecall young lady." She said. "Come with me back to the orphanage so we can have a little 'talk'."

Carrie had just about enough of being harassed, teased and punished by this old hag.

She put her foot down, crossed her arms and said "No."

Mrs. K then give an angry twitchy eye and replied "I'm sorry, what?"

"No! I'm not following you and you can't make me." She said angrily and nervously.

Mrs. Kankerbottom's face seemed to be turning red with anger. She pointed a sharp finger at Carrie and said "If YOU don't come with me right now young lady, I'll make your life miserable!"

Carrie growled and yelled "MY LIFE IS ALREADY MISERABLE WITH YOU IN IT!

Mrs. K. lost it. She yanked the LUR right from Carrie's hands and held it up high.

"NOW YOU'RE GOING TO GET IT YOU LITTLE BRAT!" She yelled

Carrie squinted at her and said to herself. "Oh no you don't."

Carrie hopped off the table and tackled her fiercely swatting at her and attempting to get the LUR back fron her.

However, when she did manage to get it, Mrs. K's face seemed to be fiery red with anger.

Carrie wanted to escape but, Mrs K. was blocking the door. Carrie had no choice.

"Freeze ball!" She said and threw a snowball-looking orb from her backpack

Mrs. K was then frozen in ice. But Carrie had froze her while she was still in the doorway. That was definitely a problem.

Suddenly a certain red glow came from the ice. It seemed that Mrs. K had heated and melted the ice! Which sent her charging at Carrie!

They both wrestled each other again while unknownst to them, the LUR said "coordinates set for 18--" it became muffled as the two were wrestling on top of it.

Suddenly there was buzzing which appeared to be coming from the LUR. The girls then stopped, jumped up and moved away from it. Suddenly, a small beacon of light came from it and became a swirling vortex or portal!

The girls tussled again and this time, Mrs. K had the upper hand. She grabbed Carrie by the turtleneck and said to her straight to her face "Don't...come...back"

Carrie stared at her wide-eyed and Mrs K. threw her in along with her backpack and laughed evilly as the portal closed.
