Chapter 4
Godt's POV
I was almost in tears as I made a call to my manager.
"What's wrong, Godt?" she asked upon hearing my quivering voice.
"P'Rose! I am being bashed all over the internet!" I tried to stabilize my quivering voice by taking deep breaths before I continued, "I am being blamed for the cancellation of the other original actors by the producers of Two Moons the series! I am getting hate messages nonstop by the fans of Bas and the other actors!"
"Calm down, Godt," said P'Rose, "just calm down. You have a strong character. You will be able to weather this through. Just focus on your current projects for now."
"I will try," I said before ending the call.
I decided to call Bas. I wondered what was going on after I got directed to his voice mail. He usually picks up on the first ring because he had assigned a ringtone to me. I tried texting him.
"Hey, Kermit" (this was my code name for him, Kermit the Frog)
When he did not respond after ten minutes, I tried texting him again.
"Are you busy? It's past ten. Is your modeling event still going on?"
When I did not get any response, I tried calling one more time. Again I got directed to his voicemail. What the hell is going on with him.
Fortunately, I had his mom's contact number. His mom was aware of Bas' and my relationship and was very supportive of us and made sure it was kept a secret from everyone else.
"Hello, mom?" She was okay with me calling her mom.
"Yes, son, how are things going?" she asked with some concern in her voice.
"I'm doing fine, mom, I'm trying not to let all the hate messages affect me," I replied, "actually the reason I called was because I can't get through to Bas. Do you know if he's still at the modeling event?"
"I think it finished just before nine this evening," she replied, "he texted me to say he was gonna have some dinner at some restaurant first before coming home."
"It's taking him an awful long time to finish his dinner," I chuckled trying not to sound worried. "Did he mention which restaurant he was going to or with whom he was going to have dinner?"
"He didn't say with whom," said Bas' mom, "I assumed that he was going with the rest of his group. He didn't say which restaurant either. Do you want me to try calling him?"
"If it's not too much of a bother, I would be really grateful if you could," I replied, hoping hard that she would be able to reach him.
"Okay, son," she said, "I will get back to you if I'm able to reach him."
"Thanks a million, mom, I love you," I said before ending the call.
"I love you, too," she said, "talk to you later."
It was almost an hour before my phone rang. It was Bas' mom. Her voice sounded really, really worried.
"Godt!" she cried before I could even say hello, "Bas is here now, he is so drunk, he is practically unconscious!"
"Who brought him home?" I asked, my voice almost cracked with intense worry.
"Someone I don't know but looked familiar," she replied, "Bas was too drunk to introduce him to me and the guy said he was a friend but did not say his name."
"Was it any one from his group?" I asked, hoping against hope that it was either P'Tae or P'Kim or any of the others in the group.
"No, Godt," she replied, "I know every single member of his group. This guy was someone I had seen somewhere before but I didn't think he would ever be in Bas' company."
"Okay, mom, as long as he's home safe and sound," I replied, not wanting her to know that for some reason my heart had just sunk to the bottom of my feet.
