Chapter 3

Third Person POV

As the group of SBFive stood waiting for the cue to start walking on the runway, Tae, the oldest in the group noticed that Bas, the youngest, had separated himself from the group and was looking at his phone.

He's probably missing his P'Godt and must be texting him right now, thought Tae.

After a while Tae noticed that someone had approached Bas. He was tall although Godt was probably an inch or two taller than him. Tae recognized him as one of the models from the other agency who were part of the event they were in.

Tae watched as the guy shook hands with Bas and started chatting with Bas. Then he saw Bas handing his phone to him and the other guy called his phone from Bas' phone. What the hell, they just met for the first time and they were already exchanging numbers. This guy must be up to no good.

"Tee," he nudged the other member of SBFive, "go get Bas before he gives out any more personal information about himself to that other model. He seems to be very interested in Bas. I don't know what the status is of Bas' friendship with Godt, but if it's more than jut friendship they are into, Bas is headed for trouble with Godt."

Tee didn't need to be asked twice. He walked towards Bas and the other model.

"Bas," said Tee, looking curiously at the other guy, "I believe it's time to get ready to walk down the runway."

"P'Tee, this is Joss my new friend," said Bas to Tee.

Joss held out his hand to Tee with a friendly smile. Tee took it in a disinterested manner.

"Let's go, Bas," said Tee, taking Bas' hand and leading him back to their group.

Joss did not feel offended by Tee's unfriendly action but Joss vowed that he would not stop until he got Bas to hang out with him.

The opportunity presented itself to Joss when after the modeling event, he overheard the manager of SBFive say that they didn't have any other engagements for the next two days.

Joss quickly approached Bas.

"I'm sure you haven't had your dinner yet. Would you like to try out the newly opened Indian restaurant just a few minutes away from here?"

"Umm..."

"My treat," Joss said quickly hoping for Bas to agree.

"Give me a second," said Bas as he walked quickly to his group mates.

Joss watched from afar as he noted the group trying to dissuade Bas from joining him. That guy Tee in particular who had been introduced to him earlier by Bas seemed to be more vocal than the others in trying to convince Bas to just stick to his group.

In the end, one of the members who seemed to be about Bas' age seemed to be telling Bas to go ahead and have fun with Joss. Bless his heart, whoever this kind young man was, thought Joss. Maybe Joss could ask Bas to introduce that young man to him and maybe they could all hang out together next time, but this evening, he wanted to spend the evening alone with Bas.

Bas walked back to him and said, "Yes, I would like to try that new Indian restaurant with you. Have you tried it before?"

"Only once and I really liked the food that they serve there," Joss replied.

"By the way, should I be calling you P'Joss? I believe you are older than I am," said Bas.

"I wouldn't mind if you just called me Joss, but if you'll feel better calling me P'Joss, I wouldn't mind either," was Joss' reply. "Let's go. My car is parked not too far from here."

The restaurant was indeed just a few minutes away from the building where they held the modeling event.

"What dish do you recommend?" asked Bas when the waiter presented the menu booklet to them.

"You might like the chicken tikka masala or the chicken biryani. And then we could order some naan which we can dip in a palak paneer," Joss suggested.

"Have you tried them all before?" asked Bas.

"Yes, I have and they all taste good," said Joss.

"Then let's have them all!" Bas exclaimed happily.

Joss turned to the waiter and gave their orders.

During dinner, it was hard to talk to Bas because he was so concentrated on the food and just kept on praising the food in between shoving them into his mouth.

"I am so full," Bas complained after he chewed the last piece of naan and drank the soda that he had ordered. "I don't think I can eat any dessert."

"I feel the same way," said Joss, "would you like to watch the last full show at the nearest movie house from here?"

Bas hesitated.

"I don't want to stay out too late," he said, "I don't want my mom to wait up so late for me. She doesn't go to sleep until I'm home safely."

Joss glanced at his watch.

"What's the latest time that you can stay out?" he asked Bas.

"Ten thirty or eleven at the latest" said Bas.

"It's nine thirty, that gives us an hour or so. Would you like to hang out at my place instead? We can watch a home movie from there and we can always stop watching if it's time for you to leave," Joss suggested, not wanting Bas to decline his offer. "We could also have a few beers. You won't have to worry about getting buzzed because I will be the one driving."

"That sounds good to me," said Bas. He offered to be the one to give the waiter a tip but Joss declined.

"Let's go," said Joss after paying the bill and giving the waiter a generous tip.

Bas slowly got up from his chair. He was really feeling so full.

"Come on, Bas," said Joss, taking Bas by the hand, "I can't wait to take you home with me."
