Chapter 18
Copter's POV
Just after we wrapped up our promo event, everyone said their goodbyes and I started walking towards my car.
I was about to open my car door when P'Kim grabbed my wrist and turned me around to face him.
"How long are you going to keep up this childish act of yours, huh?" he asked me angrily.
I knew he was referring to the fact that I had been ignoring him and giving him the cold shoulder ever since that time that he had rudely yanked me out of P'Joss' company after he saw me walking out of the theater with P'Joss.
"Don't force me to talk to you or be friendly to you, you selfish bastard!" I yelled at him. "You have no right to act as my guardian and decide who I can or can not spend time with!"
His face turned cold and hostile. He took a deep breath and poked his index finger at me.
"Don't you ever call me a selfish bastard again. From now on, I don't know you and you don't know me."
With those words, he turned and walked away from me.
I climbed inside my car and before I could stop it, hot and angry tears started falling down my cheeks.
I needed to talk to someone. I took my phone out of my pocket and tapped on Bas' number.
Joss' POV
I had hardly placed Bas onto my bed when his phone started ringing.
"Please mute your phone, Bas," I said.
"Wait, it's Copter," he said, "this is his ringtone."
"Can't it wait?" I asked.
"Something's telling me to take it," said Bas, "he has never called me this late before."
"Go ahead then," I said in a disappointed tone.
"P'Cop, what's wrong," Bas said in a worried voice, "talk to me P'Cop."
Bas turned to me.
"Something's terribly wrong," he said, "he can't even talk. He's just sobbing on the phone."
I wasn't a bad or selfish or insensitive person. If Copter needed Bas' help I was willing to forego my happiness and help out in whatever way I could.
"Let me bring you to him," I said.
"Okay, thanks," said Bas and went back to talking on the phone.
"P'Cop," I heard him say, "where are you right now." pause ......
"Okay, P'Cop, wait for me. I'll be there."
Bas told me that Copter was still in the parking lot of the building where they had their promo event.
Although I was sad that our time together had ended abruptly, I was alright with the fact that at least he was able to greet me a happy birthday in person.
"Let's go then," I said.
Bas flashed me his killer smile and I went weak in the knees.
"You are a good person, P'Joss," he said gratefully, "I am confident that you will meet the right person one day."
I just made a face at him and he laughed.
Bas' POV
As soon as P'Joss dropped me off at the building, I rushed over to the parking lot where I saw P'Cop's car.
P'Cop was inside his car, his head was face down on his arms that were resting on the steering wheel.
I tapped on the window of the passenger side and he let me in.
"I had a fight with P'Kim." he cried without any preliminaries.
"I knew it!" I said. And I knew why even if P'Cop did not elaborate.
How could I tell P'Cop that the reason that P'Kim had acted that way was because P'Kim had confided in me that he loved P'Cop but was too afraid to tell P'Cop just in case he did not feel the same way?
"Can you excuse me a minute, P'Cop?" I asked. "I need to use the bathroom"
I stepped out of the car and as soon as I was out of sight of P'Cop, I made a call to P'Kim.
"Come back here to the parking lot building," I said as soon as he took my call.
"What's going on?" he asked.
"Stop making your and P'Cop's life miserable and confess to him already," I said. "He doesn't understand your actions and he's jumping to all the wrong conclusions. Unless you confess to him all these misunderstanding will never stop. Please, P'Kim come over already. He is a crying mess."
"Wait for me," said P'Kim, "I'll be there."
"No," I said, "I'm going to ask P'Cop to drop me off at my house. You go over to my house and hijack him from there."
"Brilliant idea!" said P'Kim.
