Chapter 5: World so Cold
Bane watched as Silver ran into the unclaimed territory. He sadly looked over at Seether who just gritted her teeth in annoyance and twitched her ears towards the disappearing gray wolf. Instantly, three of the orange brute's wolves chased after Silver.
"No! Silver run faster!" December yipped shrilly. Her voice was laden in fear.
Seether smirked and her remaining wolves surrounded them. The two backed up into a tight circle.
"Bane, any chance you have a Moon Kingdom Crescent Scythe?" She asked quietly.
Bane shook his head no. A Moon Kingdom Crescent Scythe was an exclusive weapon from his kingdom. It was a curved blade shaped like a crescent moon that was used for cutting down grass in ancient times, but now it was a weapon that thieves used.
"I am no thief! What do you take me for!?" He whispered loudly.
December shrugged. "Well great, we're gonna die."
Seether's green eyes kept moving, looking from Bane to December and back. The flames rose higher on her back. She then finally pounced on Bane.
The navy wolf rolled over to pitifully try to dodge. This exposed his belly. Seether took advantage and nipped his belly. He hissed quietly in pain and kicked her off with his hind legs.
The small wound had caused quite a bit of bleeding.
The rest of Seether's wolves pounced on December, overwhelming her.
"Hey! Stop! That's not fair play! What are you a rogue!?" Bane barked.
Seether scrambled up quickly and glared at him. "Did you just call me rogue!? Well! You aren't so higher up yourself ex prince! The nerve!" She spat, getting spittle in Bane's eye.
He blinked it away and swiped at Seether's face, this caused three deep scratches to appear on her left eye.
Her face twisted in pain and she pounced on Bane, grinding his face into the dirt with her paw. She pushed her muzzle into his ear.
"I'LL DROWN YOU FOR THAT YOU MUTT!!!" Seether roared, snapping his head up. She drug him by his hair to the water's edge. She grabbed his head and shoved it under the surface, holding it down with one paw.
Bane struggled, his fur covered in dirt and mud. He started having flashbacks to when he was younger.

A group of small pups surrounded a small pond that was wolf-made. One pup shoved a navy and white pup's shoulder.
"Come on Bane! Get in that water! What are you? A cat?" He squeaked.
This caused laughter among the pups.
"It's Prince Bane! And no! I don't want to!" The navy and blue pup squeaked.
"Is it because you're a cat? Meow?" The first pup jeered.
The others started making cat noises.
Prince Bane ruffled his fur out. "No! I'm not I just-"
"Hey! Hey! Boys! Let's put Prince Kittyheart in the water!" The biggest pup barked.
The others agreed and advanced upon him.
Prince Bane backed up. "I! I'm warning you! I'll g...go get mother and father.... they will punish your parent-"
The biggest one shoved Prince Bane into the water.
He was about to draw a breath but sucked in water instead. Prince Bane had no clue how to swim. He flailed his limbs wildly, making wild ripples appear across the water.
He hit a rock, it scraped his heel. Blood floated from the wound like scarlet smoke. He vaguely saw the silhouettes of the pups above the water. Prince Bane's lungs screamed for air. He flailed more, black spots appeared across his vision. He closed his eyes and passed out.
A dark gray and pale gray wolf with green eyes jumped from her throne to the pond.
"My sweet and precious! Bane!" She shrieked, diving into the water. She grabbed his scruff in her teeth and swam upward.
She broke the surface and laid Prince Bane on the water's edge. The wolf got out and placed both front paws on his tiny chest. She pumped and he got up coughing and vomiting water out.
The pup's scooted back. "Queen Crescent.... it was an accident-"
The female snapped her head towards them. "I'll kill you and your parents for this!"
The pups begged for their lives but were executed along with their parents later that day.
Prince Bane slept extra cozy that night.

Bane began to see spots again and he fell unconscious. Seether walked off, knowing that he would drown.
One of her wolves glanced over at Bane who's face was face-down into the water. His eyes widened and he prodded Seether.
"What!?" She snarled.
"We need to bring Bane with us to the castle alive...." he whispered respectfully.
"Why!?" Seether demanded.
"Because, we will be rewarded by the queen and King Comet will come for him and pay us a fortune for his return," The wolf explained.
The orange wolf's flames died down. She grinned widely. "Ah! How silly of me! You brilliant thing!" Seether walked past him and brushed against his side briefly. She looked past him at December. The other wolves had backed off and she lay broken and bleeding. "This one is not our concern but I will take her anyways. It's better if she doesn't run free to warn anyone. I have a letter I'm going to write to the king."
December just stared blankly up at her, barely conscious.
"Y....you...... will n.....not win," she coughed.
Seether stared down at her. "We'll see about that." She hit her in the side of the head and knocked her out. She looked at the No-Kingdom Territory. Her wolves were not back yet. She and her wolves scraped up Bane and December and went back to the Sun Kingdom.
