—Doc's POV—

After 2 busy months, I've finally came back. Of course I expected change but it was still so unexpected. Lush green grass was slowly eating up all the mycelium in this island, a variety of posters hanged loosely on almost every wall of every shop, including mine. It was different but nonetheless messy.

Seriously, everything is a mess.

Currently I have stumbled upon one of the newest changes in the shopping district. Aside from the town hall at its glory, belittling me, a man in a purple suit stood near the main entrance carrying what appears to be a cat. The man noticed my presence, and with gleeful eyes, placed down the feline on the ground and rushed down the stairs to meet me in person.

"Doc your back!" The ex wizard exclaimed.

The man tackled me in a quick hug and I couldn't contain the chuckles that escaped, it honestly felt refreshing to be back. "The Goatfather has finally returned! And I see that I'm in the presence of a politician," my hands gestured on the mayoral outfit that Scar was currently wearing.
Scar hummed, and groaned from the sudden pat in the back I gave, "Mostly I thank Bdubs for helping me out with the campaign, I'd probably be running around in underpants without him."

I turned my head to let out a scoff, "Seriously what can that man not do?"

"Reach our height apparently."

We both stood there in silence till our sudden laughters escaped from our throats as we could not hold it in for to long. "Besides that, Bdubs was an incredible manager and I thank him and the hermits for supporting me," Scar smiled, shoving his hands back in his pockets.
Before Scar could continue the conversation we had, he noticed the feline coming down stairs and in smiled in awe, "Awww Jellie came to say hi to you!" He lifted the cat and gestured her paws to give a little wave.

"Oh?" A raised my hand and returned the wave with a nervous smile. The cat squirmed, escaping Scar's grasp and jumped towards me. Out of pure instinct I carefully threw the cat back at Scar and let out an unsuitable yelp!

"GYAA-"

I started stumbling backwards before hitting the diamond popsicle stand against my back. What felt like my heart beating at a hasty speed, my reaction was unforeseen. Even Scar's  baffled expression screamed 'what the heck did I just witness?'

"What just ha-

"It's n-nothing!" I declared before he could finish his sentence.

Scar gave a suspicious look at his cat before slowly raising Jellie near my face, as expected I secretly slid from the other direction, but Scar finally caught on. His wryly smile showed how hard he was trying not to laugh, a few giggles would occasionally slip up before he could finally talk without said giggles from stopping him. "Doc... are you scar-

"I am not scared of cats!" I declared again. Scar's serious face fell to a fit of laughters as howled out those overwhelming giggles. "I SAID I'M NOT!!"
"Y-You're sc-ared of cats? The almight-y goatfather isphh- scarED- HAHAHAHA!!" The hermit now sank on the ground with his continuous laughter and wheezing , honestly he looked he was having an asthma attack.

"For the last time I said I'm no-" My eyes widened from how incredibly close Jellie was as Scar slowly nudges her next to me. I stumbled back again, this time hiding next to the popsicle stand. Scar's laughters grew as he slowly ran out if breathe, tears were visible near his emerald eyes.  "I didn't know you were scared of cats?" He said with a smirk on his face.

"Well! Maybe I am scared of cats, big deal!" I exclaimed loudly enough to know that I was now upset.

I stayed behind the stand and sank on the mycelium ground with both my arms wrapped around my stomach. There was this overwhelming sensation crushing me, I felt pissed, fearful, weak-kneed. The teasing finally died, and I sensed someone's shoulder brush mine. Scar sat beside me, worried.

"Hey, you know it was a joke right?"

"Yeah, sure."

Silence kicked in and the only noise in the area was the meows of Jellie in the background, giving me more anxiety. Scar did not dare mutter a single word, probably scared to hurt my feelings. But of course his presence and regret was noticed, so I did not complain. I stayed in my vulnerable position, out of character of me but oh well.

"Creepers are scared of cats," I said.

Scar teared his eyes away from the floor and finally looked at me, confused. "What?" He muttered. "It took me a while to remember that creepers are scared of cats, and I'm a creeper myself, make sense," I smirked to myself. "But that's normal!" Scar cried out, "A lot of us have our own fears, that makes you no different because it's okay to feel scared."

I shook my head, "I make no difference? Tell that to Notch!" I was a mistake, creepers were a mistake, even the person who created us said so himself. I was meant to be a pig for Notch's sake!"

"And yet he still kept them, Doc."

Scar held a grip on my shoulder, keeping serious eye contact on me. That's when I suddenly felt too weak to protest, instead I hugged my stomach tighter, uttering convulsive gasps. Through my blurry vision I noticed the extended hand holding a white, clean cloth. Looking up was Scar offering his handkerchief to me, but I declined the offer.

He frowned at my declined, but only to replace it with his hand rubbing my back. He went from 'don't cry' to 'just cry'. Fortunately I did not cry, this was enough vulnerability for poor Scar to feel guilty about. "Scar it's okay, I'm not mad at you," I returned the pat in the back.

He didn't look convinced but smiled nonetheless, "Sorry.."

"But still, even if creepers we're never meant to exist, your not a mistake Doc. And I am sorry for teasing you like that" Scar brought himself to finally stand, and pulled my hand and helped me getting back on my feet. He then went back to pick up Jellie and gestured her paws and waved back, keeping the distance from me and her. "Jellie's sorry too," He giggled.

I hummed softly, amused. "Apology accepted, mostly Jellie for scaring me," I joked. After putting her back on the ground, the hermit pulled me to another embrace, only this time a returned one back. Scar pulled back and his smile left to the same bewildered expression he had before. "Doc are you..."

"Hmmm?" That's when I sensed a small stream of liquid on my cheek, escaping my eyes. It caught me off guard as I tried wiping it off with my sleeve, but by the first wipe Scar already tried handing me his handkerchief again. I accepted the handkerchief this time until Scar pulled me into a tighter embrace. That's when I let out a genuine chuckle.
