CHAPTER 13 - The Unexpected
"Liar."
Harry stared at Lily, who was glaring at Harry in the most menacing way he had ever seen, a glare Ginny would have been proud of. James and Sirius were still in too much of a shock to know Harry is James and Lily's son, and Lily, always being the one to react the fastest, replied in a nasty way.
"You are lying. Just to get rid of me." Lily said firmly, her hands balling into fists, shaking slightly as her face started getting red with what Harry assumed to be anger.
Harry gave Lily an incredulous look. "Are you kidding me? You have proof right in front of your eyes. Don't you feel revolted you just kissed your son? What the hell is wrong with you mom?"
"Don't call me mom!" Lily roared, reaching towards Harry in one large stride and pushing him with all her strength, so that Harry tripped over the hem of his robes and hit the table behind him.
Shocked, Harry stared at Lily. The stories sirius told him when he was younger, how kind, gentle and understanding Lily was, all that just evaporated in the air. The murderous glint in her green eyes scared the wits out of Harry.
He remembered Ginny's brown eyes who when scrunitized Harry as though he were raw meat, but after encountering dear Evans, he could stare into Ginny's angry brown eyes forever without flinching.
Sirius and James finally jerked out of their daze, and with bewildered expressions took in the staring match between Harry and Lily.
"What is going on?" Sirius inquired as he stepped forwards.
"Stay out of this Sirius." Lily snapped, raising her hand without even glancing at him. Sirius's jaw dropped.
James, despite of himself, grinned at the new Lily. Wow, he did like the badass. Then, he frowned. But he did NOT like her hooking up with a random dude claiming to be his son.
"Whoa whoa wait up a minute," James interrupted, holding up both his hands and stepping between Lily and Harry. "I need to clear few things."
Harry raised an eyebrow, but from the inside he was shaken. Merlin, this is something he would NEVER forget. "What?"
Before James could even open his mouth, Lily elbowed him out of the way, so that James fell on his butt with a huge THUD! and grimaced with pain.
"Ow!"
Lily ignored him and charged towards poor Harry, gripping his collar and yanking him towards her, so that their noses were barely an inch away.
"Tell me you are lying," Lily hissed, her eyes glowing, face contorted with anger. "You are just spinning a story. Tell me!"
Harry finally snapped. His mother was acting very differently from the stories he has heard, and now he has to take control. He gently brushed away Lily's hand from his collar and willed himself to look into her eyes. "I'm not Lily. Trust me."
Lily opened her mouth to snarl, but Harry cut her off. "No really! Don't you understand? I am Harry James Potter," James smirked at that, "Not Harry Jones, I am your son. No matter how many times you try to deny, it will not change the fact that you and James get married and have me."
Harry placed his hands on Lily's shoulder and shook her vigourously. "This. Is. The. Truth."
A loud, ear piercing blood curdling scream echoed around the office, and Harry scrunched his eyes shut, pressing his palms on his ears, his eardrums rattling terribly.
Panic gripping him, he opened his eyes immediately after the scream died down, thinking the scream was emitted by Lily but she had too dug her fingers in her ears, along with Sirius and James.
Furrowing his eyebrows, Harry sprinted towards the door and swung it open, to see a third year Ravenclaw on the floor, her back arched several inches off the floor, mouth open wide in a silent scream.
Harry's eyes widened, the memory of Katie Bell surfacing above the muddled thoughts in his head. Harry knelt down next to the girl, racking his idiotic brain. What was he supposed to do? If she was cursed, he can definitely not touch her. Please, Harry Potter had this much sense.
The girl went limp. Harry stared at her with shock. Lily shrieked behind him as Sirius and James came trailing after her.
Another loud grunt of pain sounded near the corner and Harry whipped his head to his right. A sixth year boy came staggering, clutching his sides hissing in pain. Harry shot to his feet sprinting towards the boy, but then again, before Harry could touch him, the boy fell to the floor, unmoving.
Harry felt his heart speeding up, thumping painfully as a bead of sweat trickled down his forehead. Something was terribly wrong, very very wrong. What is all this going on? Why are -
"Aargh! Flitwick! Get Jones! NOW!!"
"Somebody HELP!!"
"AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!"
Harry felt himself trembling, confused with all these shouts all around him, and he saw a small man running towards him with his tiny legs, and soon, Flitwick was standing in front of Harry, panting heavily.
"Jones......outside......trouble..." He managed to say, between his heavy breaths.
Harry felt adrenaline course through him and he turned sharply, almost making Flitwick trip and he ran at top speed, his robes billowing behind him as several more screams erupted, an air of panic seeping. He encountered few more students on the corridor, who were either screaming at the top of their lungs, or lying limp on the floor.
Harry felt the strong wind hit his face, his bangs plastered to his forehead. Impatiently brushing away his hair, Harry almost vomited at the scene in front of him.
Several students, many of them, lay on the ground unmistakably dead, their robes dark with what seemed to be blood. Limbs were mangled in a very grotesque way, the innocent faces grimaced with pain, and Harry was sure they died a painful death.
Harry felt it difficult to draw in breaths. He spotted Mcgonagall waving her wand over a screaming first year, but her face held and expression of hopelessness. Rachel Smith tried forcing potions down the limp bodies but she too was crying with despair.
Eyes wide with terror, he slowly looked at the tall figure in front of him, who was clad in midnight blue robes, his long white beard swaying with the wind, looking at Harry with his blue eyes filled with dread.
The first time Harry saw dread, fear and helplessness in dumbledore's eyes instead of the usual twinkling.
Dumbledore stared at Harry, showing his helplessness with the sitiuation, conveying a message which made Harry's heart drop several inches.
Help.
Dumbledore too, fell onto the ground, eyes rolled up his head and Harry stumbled behind with complete shock, panic increasing ten fold. He felt a cold presence behind him, and at that precise moment his scar seared with white hot pain, but Harry swallowed it.
He knew his destiny.
He turned around like one true Gryffindor to meet his fate.
I will miss you Ginny. Was all Harry could think.
