39- It's time
Ethan proudly poured himself another drink after being by Sadie he should have another one. "When I said to have another drink, I didn't mean for you to actually have one." Sadie giggled.
"Well when you offer like that, how can I say no?" Ethan grinned "Don't you two girls have something to do... like go shopping?"
"Well, if you put it that way, then yes... we will go shopping." Sadie smarted back, looking over at Antonio.
Grace walked over to Ethan holding out her hand, raising an eyebrow. "Can I borrow your card?"
He reached into his back pocket, grinning, and shaking his head while pulling out his wallet. "You can't borrow it, but you can take, and use it for whatever you want." he says, handing her his wallet "Might as well take the whole damn thing, I won't be needing it."
She smiled while taking his wallet, surprised he was handing it to her, and took it out of his hand. "You trust me with your entire wallet?"
"Take it all, once were married, it's all yours anyway." he chuckled.
Grace, and Sadie giggled as they walked upstairs. Sadie walked over to Ilona and talked with her, letting her know they were going baby shopping, and asked for her to keep an eye on the kids. She also let her know Ethan, and Antonio were downstairs getting drunk, and to let them be.
Ilona was surprised to hear they were allowing them to get drunk, and her eyes widened. "You want them to get drunk, and pass out?"
"Yes, we do, we have something to do when we get back, and will most likely need your help, if that's alright." Sadie whispered in her ear.
"OK, I can help out." Ilona smiled, walking away to find the kids. She had a feeling what they were up to, and figured that was their reasoning on allowing them to get drunk.
Sadie found Gabriella, and Isabella, asking if they would like to go shopping. "I'll even buy you some new clothes." Sadie said, in hopes they would come with.
"I'll go!" Isabella said happily "I could use a new outfit."
"Me too!" Gabriella got off the chair, grinning. "I think we both could use some new clothes.
Antonio, and Ethan were sitting at the bar playing quarters, trying to get the quarter into the shot glass. Antonio bounced the quarter off the table, and it landed on the ground. "You missed, my shot." Ethan laughed.
Ethan bounced the quarter on top of the bar, making it into the shot glass, and pointing at Antonio as he laughed, making him take his shot. "Something is up that they want us to get drunk, that's not like them." Antonio said, looking serious, wondering what they possibly could be up to.
"I'm not going to argue about it, last time we got drunk it got us into trouble, and now they're encouraging us to get drunk." Ethan says as he took a sip of his drink. He then leaned back in his chair, and grinned "I was thinking, do you realize that I caught up to you with kids, just like that?" he asks, snapping his fingers "Six months, or so ago, I went from having zero kids, to one, to finding out that I have six on the way. That's seven kids Antonio... I still can't believe it. I honestly believe this is Harlow's doing, especially after I visited her that day, asking for her help, and to help guide me in the right direction. Then the goofy woman had a damn bird shit on me. That one, I still can't get over."
Antonio laughed shaking his head, he grabbed the quarter, and bounced it on the bar just right, making it into the glass. "After all the shit you put her through over the years, I'm sure you had that coming. Now it's your turn to take a shot."
Ethan held up his shot glass, staring at it for a minute. "I miss her Antonio, I miss her a lot."
"I know you do; I miss her too. But she's in a much better place, and I know she's looking out for everyone as we speak."
Ethan didn't want to think about it anymore, and took his shot, set the glass down onto the bar, and started chuckling "I've got something for you that'll make you laugh."
"What's that?"
"The other day, this little boy named Mikey asked his dad what's in between mommy's legs? His dad looked at him, and placed his hand on his shoulder Now that's paradise son. Mikey looked up at his dad, looking confused Well then, what's in between your legs? His dad smiled That's the key to paradise. Mikey paused, and stared at him I think you better change the lock, because the asshole next door has a spare key.
Antonio laughed, and stood up "I don't know about you sometimes... would you like to play a game of pool, or darts?"
"Game on, you're going down brotha!" Ethan walked over to the pool table, and began racking the balls. "I call for us to take a shot each time we scratch the ball, and a double shot, if your ball goes into the pocket that you don't call."
Antonio grabbed his pool stick, chalked his stick, and looked at him. "Fair enough." Ethan started getting cocky towards Antonio, making him laugh, and walked around the table looking for his next shot. "I wouldn't be too cocky if I were you, you haven't been able to win a game against me in a long time, usually I end up letting you win because I start feeling sorry for your dumbass." Antonio laughed, and aimed his stick at Ethan, touching the end of the stick against Ethan's forehead, leaving a blue mark from the chalk.
He tried rubbing the chalk off, and only made it worse by spreading it on his forehead. "I'm glad you can laugh at my expense." Ethan grinned, after Antonio couldn't stop laughing.
"Anytime."
For hours, they talked, laughed, compared jokes with each other, and continued with their drinking, and shots. They kept trying to figure out what the girls were up to, and placed bets on what they were doing. After playing another round of pool, and drinking shots of Tequila whenever they missed their shot, they both reached their maximum limit, and passed out.
Sadie, and Grace finally came home from shopping, and snuck into the house, carrying bags up to the new baby's room. Ilona saw Sadie, and Grace walking quietly up the stairs, and sprinted over to them, helping them with the bags.
"Are they passed out?" Grace asked her.
"I'm assuming so, they were pretty noisy for quite a while, but I've noticed they've been quiet for about a half hour now."
"Perfect." Sadie says, thrilled. She looked inside the room, and got quite the surprise she wasn't expecting. "You did it already?"
"I had time, and help from Luca, and Lilliana... don't worry, they promised not to say anything. All the kids know to stay out of the room, and to keep the door closed." Ilona assured her.
Grace left the room, wanting to go check on Ethan. As she walked down the stairs, all she could smell was booze, and had to plug her nose. She sat next to Ethan, waking him up. "Hey beautiful." Ethan slurred, with a cheesy smile "Did you end up buying yourself a new shade of lipstick?"
"Come on, time to go home." Ethan stood up, and was wobbling side to side. Grace took a hold of his hand, and tried helping him walk up the stairs "I love you Grace." he slurred trying to keep his eyes open, swaying on each step he stepped.
"I know you do, now let's go home, and sleep it off."
Ethan barely made his way to the top of stairs, and stumbled while walking to the door, to put on his shoes, and fell trying to put them on.
"Grandma, would you like me to drive you both home?" Gabriella asked, looking worried.
"It's alright, I've got it, but thank you." Grace says, smiling, and hoping she'll be able to get him out of the car and into the house when they get home.
"Let me help walk him to the car." she said, walking over to Ethan, and helped put on his shoes. As she walked Ethan to the car, she nearly dropped him when she heard Grace squeal in pain, and saw her bending over, holding her hand on her stomach.
"Maybe you should drive us." Grace says, barley getting the words out of her mouth "Do you think you can get us home safe?"
"Yes, let me go tell mom I'm driving you home."
Gabriella ran into the house, letting Sadie know what was going on. Sadie panicked, and insisted she wasn't driving without a valid license, telling her she would drive them home. Gabriella looked at her, looking upset, and wanted to prove she could get them home safe. "Mom, I can do this, you won't be able to help get Ethan into the house, trust me... I can do this."
Sadie sighed, worried about her driving, and didn't want her losing out on taking her driver's test the following week. She rested her hands on her hips, and looked away. "Drive careful."
She quickly ran out of the house, got into the driver's seat, and began heading to Ethan's. Grace sat in the back seat holding her stomach, worried about the pains she was having. They were getting stronger, and Gabriella began to panic after hearing Grace's moans getting louder, and deeper, and started driving faster.
Grace's pains continued, and Gabriella drove even faster, earning cherries flashing behind her. She pulled over, and began crying, worried about getting arrested for driving without a license.
The officer knocked on the window, motioning for her to buzz the window down. As she buzzed the window down, the officer peeked his head inside, saw Grace in the backseat, and Ethan slumped over with his head leaning against the window.
"Going a little fast wouldn't you say?" The cop asked.
"Wow, you must have been doing over 100mph to catch up with me!" Gabriella said, shocking herself for smarting off to the cop. She then realized it was Ethan who taught her to lighten the mood, after being pulled over. The officer tilted his head to the side, and gave her a confused look.
"I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was driving fast, but once I realized that I was, I felt it would only be right to keep up with the flow of the traffic, that is, until you pulled me over." The officer furrowed his eyebrows, and was getting ready to tell her to get out of the car, until Grace started screaming.
Gabriella saw the look on his face, and knew she was about to get in trouble, and took a deep breath. "Look, officer, here's what's going on... I was going to bring them home, my uncle is drunk, my grandma is pregnant, and she's having bad pains. She's not due for another couple months, so instead of taking them home, I decided to bring her to the hospital."
The officer shined his light on Grace, looking at her again. Seeing the sweat on her forehead, and the pain in her eyes, he called out to dispatch, informing them he was going to accompany a woman who was possibly in labor to the hospital, then looked at Gabriella. "Follow me, I'll lead the way, and put your hazards on please."
The officer went back to his car, turned his sirens, and lights on, and pulled in front of Gabriella, leading the way. Gabriella sighed in relief, and looked in her rearview mirror "Don't worry grandma, we'll get you there."
She followed the officer to the hospital, and once they arrived, the officer went inside, letting the nurses know what was going on, and brought out a wheelchair, helping Grace into it.
Gabriella parked Ethan's car, and sat in the car for a few minutes, nervous, and worried. She got out of the car, and opened Ethan's door. When he didn't move, she slapped him across the face, trying to wake him.
"Owe, what the hell was that for?" Ethan groaned, rubbing the side of his face. "Damn, have you been taking lessons from Grace?"
"Wake up, and open your eyes, we're at the hospital, and I think grandma is in labor."
Ethan slowly opened his eyes, he was feeling groggy, and looked around to see where he was, trying to remember the night. He looked over at Gabriella, and squinted his eyes, trying to focus on her. "Where are we?"
"At the hospital, now sober up, we need to find where they put grandma."
Ethan panicked, and got out of the car quickly. His heart dropped once he understood where they were, and as they raced towards the hospital entrance, his heart pounded faster, causing him to sober up enough, to know what he was doing.
Gabriella called Sadie, letting her know she brought Grace to the hospital instead of Ethan's, explaining she thought she was in labor, and that she's in room 371.
Sadie dropped the phone, and ran downstairs to wake Antonio, shaking him until he opened his eyes. A smile crept up when he saw Sadie, and his smile quickly faded when he saw the look on her face.
"What's wrong?"
"Gabriella drove my mom, and Ethan's drunk ass to the hospital. When they left here, she was having strong pains in her stomach, and before they got to Ethan's, the pains got to be so unbearable, that she drove her to the hospital, it's sounding like she could be in labor"
"Gabriella? She doesn't have a license to drive." he groaned.
"Yea no shit, but she got them there."
Antonio sat up, rubbing his eyes, trying to wake up, and focus. "Wow, we must have done a number." he says, eyeing the empty bottles of Bourbon, and Tequila sitting on top of the bar.
"We need to go, I'm worried about her."
"Alright, I'm getting up." Antonio stood up, and stretched, feeling his head spinning. "You'll have to drive."
"I already know that."
Sadie explained to Ilona where Grace was, what happened, and letting her know they were on their way to the hospital. "I'll leave the van keys; in case you need to drive to the hospital." she tells her, grabbing her purse.
Sadie drove to the hospital, knowing she couldn't be mad at Antonio for getting drunk. She knew it was her, and her mother were the ones who encouraged them to get to that point, and knew this was a fluke for Grace to end up in the hospital. "I hope she's all right, she's not due to have a c-section for another month and a half."
"I'm sure she'll be fine. How in the hell did Gabriella end up driving them anyway?"
"I should have drove, but Gabriella insisted on driving them home, saying she would be the one who would be able to get Ethan into the house, thinking we wouldn't be able to do it. But then again, I could have drove, and brought her with too."
"Maybe she's ready for her license next week." Antonio smiled.
"I sure hope so." Sadie sighed.
Once they got to the hospital, they made their way to Grace's room, and as they walked in, Ethan was pacing back and forth near the window, while Gabriella was sitting in the chair, watching Ethan.
"How is she?" Sadie asked worried, and looked over at her mother, who was sleeping.
"They called her doctor, and is on his way here. Sounds like she will be delivering the babies tonight." Ethan says, stopping to look at Grace. He walked over to her, and kissed her forehead. "Everything will be OK." he whispered.
"Why was she having pains?" Sadie asked worried. Antonio stood behind her, and started rubbing her shoulders, trying to get her to relax.
"They're thinking because of her age, and carrying as many babies she is, is too much for her, and her body. She's already bigger than what the average woman would be at nine months pregnant. They told us they need to deliver the babies as soon as possible, to help her, and the babies survive." Ethan ran his hands through his hair, and started pulling on his hair, causing his hair to stand up, when his hands released from his hair.
Gabriella looked at Ethan, and couldn't help but giggle "You look like you stuck your finger in a light socket."
Ethan looked at her, and smirked "I suppose it will be my new look from now on, until I know everyone is OK."
Grace's doctor finally arrived, and examined Grace. He removed his glasses, and looked at Ethan. "Looks like you'll be a dad here within the next hour or so." the doctor says, patting Ethan's shoulder.
Ethan groaned, he couldn't help but worry about Grace, and his kids "As much as I'm excited about hearing that, I'm also scared at the same time."
"She will be just fine, the kids are doing well, and she's in the best hospital, with the best care around." the doctor says, assuring him.
"That is true, she's in the best care here." Antonio smiled, as he looked at Ethan "This is the best hospital in Montana, with the best doctors around."
A nurse walked into the room, and talked with the doctor for a moment. Then looked over at Ethan. "They have a room ready for her to deliver."
Antonio looked at Ethan, and placed his hand on his shoulder. "Are you ready for this?"
