Maya's POV

'You can have her'

Was he actually being serious.

I'm not some object people could use and subsequently pass on.

I didn't bother to turn around.

I allowed them to bicker like two little children.

I let them express their disagreements pretending like they even had a say.

I waited for them to finish up so Sameed could take me home.

Yes I was mad at him, furious, but I couldn't walk home and the last bus left hours ago. I had no choice but to stick by him, even though he basically told Max he could have his precious possession. That's what it sounded like at least.

Sameed never had me in the first place and he most definitely will never have.

"What game are you playing Sam, huh?"

They were talking so shortly after eachother that I after some time didn't even know who was insulting who. It was like their voices merged together.

Until..

Until four words came out so clear that it instantly gave me goosebumps and at the same time brought up the anger that was persevered inside me from the entire night.

"Fine," Sameed yelled

His yelling made me flinch which made me also realize which person was talking.

Everyone was quiet, including my thoughts.

"You wanna know what game I'm playing?" He scoffed.

We all waited for him to answer his own question.

"She was a bet!" He this time yelled.

Everything immediately went silent. I couldn't hear anything or anyone anymore. The loud music coming from the Christmas Market sounded like whispering.

His words were being played over and over again in my head until I finally realized what kind of disgusting words had left his mouth.

My ability to hear came back before I heard him follow up with "But I actually fell for her, okay".

This time I heard some kind of emotion in his voice. The way his voice cracked when he said 'okay' made me realize he felt bad for doing me over.

I scoffed at his follow up and once I wanted to turn around I felt dizzy- so dizzy I was searching for some kind of support to keep me up.

Something was wrong.

I was scared

And at their sudden quietness, I knew Max and Sameed were too. 

"Guys something is wrong." I whispered.

My legs started shaking and everything started to become blurry. I took a hold of the fence in front of me trying to regain my balance.

I felt someone place his arm around my waist picking me up a tiny bit before my entire body would collapse. His strong grip held me up.

"What did you give her."

"What did you give her Sameed"

"I don't know man we just drank one drink but.."

My head was so out of it that it wasn't receiving any new information. I also had no control over my body anymore. Something was terribly wrong.

"Maya are you okay?"

"Maya are you okay?"

"I know where she lives, let's just take her home."

"This is your fault"

"That doesn't matter right now, we need to take her home."

"Fine, move!"
