Chapter 3
Now outside of the room, Storm smiled. This wasn't so bad- Storm's thoughts were interrupted by the phone ringing.
"Hello? This is Toriel. You have no left the room, have you? There are a few puzzles ahead that I have yet to explain. It would be dangerous to attempt them alone. Be good, alright?"
With that, she hung up and Storm shoved the phone in his pocket,"How could she tell?"
"Eh, Mama just knows." Eva shrugged before pointing ahead,"Lookie, a Save point!"
Storm sighed and approached the sparkle in the leaves ahead, still not believing in the whole 'Save' thing.
"Playfully crinkling through the leaves fills you with determination." Eva giggled.
"Do you do that every time?" Storm raised a brow.
"Yes." Eva smiled as Storm entered the North room, a room with only a bowl of sweets on a pedestal,"Hey, it says take one."
Storm grabbed a handful of monster candy and knocked the bowl onto the ground.
"You feel like the scum of the earth." Eva shook her head.
"D-Don't tell anyone." Storm pointed as they left the room.
"Nobody can see Eva, who is Eva going to tell?" Eva rolled her eyes.
As they progressed down the hall, a Froggit hopped close. Again, Storm complimented it and flattered the creature that didn't understand them.
"Ribbit." The Froggit blushed deeply, still hitting Storm with a group of flies, although it seemed reluctant.
Storm smiled, sparing the creature as it hopped away. Storm then entered the next room, letting out a small scream as he fell though the floor. Eva slowly floated down to meet him.
Storm sighed,"Thanks Eva."
"Eva didn't want you to be alone." She hummed as Storm climbed through the passageway that took them back to the main room.
The pair then headed into the next room. There was a row of spikes and a rock by a switch. Storms phone rang again.
"Hello? This is Toriel. For no reason in particular... Which do you prefer? Cinnamon or butterscotch?" Toriel asked.
"Uhm.." Storm looked over at Eva.
"Butterscotch." Eva nodded happily.
"Cinnamon?" Storm answered.
"Oh, I see. Thank you very much!" Toriel hummed before hanging up.
"Eva is so mad." Eva crossed her arms.
"Eva, I'm sorry." Storm chuckled softly as the phone rang again.
"Hello? This is Toriel. You do not dislike Butterscotch, do you? I know what your preference is, but.."
"I like them both." Storm assured her.
"Right, right, I understand. Thank you for being patient, by the way."
Storm put the phone away and pushed the rock onto the switch, causing the spikes to disappear.
"You know... Three out of the four very rocks recommend you push them." Eva hummed.
Storm went to continue as another Froggit appeared. Again, they complimented it. This seems to be the best way to deal with them. This time, Storm managed to avoid the flies before sparing the Froggit.
The pair continued into the next room and saw a room with a very collapsible looking floor.
"Eva.." Storm looked over at her.
Eva studied the floor and floated forward,"Follow."
Storm carefully followed along the path that Eva floated, their adrenaline spiking every time the ground beneath them seemed slightly uneven. Storm managed to spare two Froggits by the time they reached the end of the room.
"T-thanks." Storm let out a sigh of relief.
"No problem." Eva smiled as they continued.
In the next room, there were three grey rocks with switches and a small bridge covered in spikes. As Storm went to push the first rock, a Froggit and a new monster, Whimsun drew near.
Storm complimented the Froggit and avoided most if the attacks, a fly managing to get their soul. Storm spared both of them, the Whimsun didn't need much convincing.
Storm went on to push the first two rocks with no issue, it was the third one that had a problem. The rock had a lot to say for a rock. Eventually, after some trouble and Eva definitely getting their point across with threats, they made it over the bridge and into the next room.
All there was was a mouse hole and a table with some cheese on it. That and a 'Save Sparkle'.
"Knowing the mouse might one day leave its hole and get the cheese... Fills you with determination!" Eva smiled.
Storm chuckled at Eva's little narrations, they were cute. They then walked into the next room where a ghost lay on some leaves, blocking the way.
"Zzzzzzzzzzz... Are they gone yet... Zzzzzzzzzz." The ghost kept saying 'Z' out loud repeatedly as it pretended to sleep.
Storm sighed and tried to move the ghost.
"Hi Blooky." Eva hummed,"I didn't know he came here."
Storm hummed, deciding to cheer Napstablook on. He gave the ghost a patient smile.
"Heh.." Naptsablook looked a little bit better, using its tears to attack Storm.
Storm managed to avoid most of the tears before cracking a little joke for Napstablook.
"Hehe..' Cheering seems to have improved Napstablook's mood again.
Storm cheered once more and it looked like Napstablook wanted to show them something.
"Let me try.." Napstablook formed a top hat out of his tears,"I call it 'Dapper Blook'. D-do you like it?"
Napstablook eagerly awaited Storm's response to which Storm applauded him.
"Oh dear..." The battle ended,"I usually come to the Ruins because there's nobody around... B-but today I met somebody nice... Oh, I'm rambling again. I'll get out of your way."
Napstablook then disappeared and Storm conquer ahead with a smile of his face. It was a small room with two cobwebs and a small sign.
"Oh- It's a spider bakesale!" Eva smiled.
Storm put 7G that they had collected into the smaller web. Some spiders than crawled down and gave them a donut.
"Thank you." Storm smiled as they walked off.
