Chapter 1
Storm hurried through a stone archway and came face to face with a small, golden flower. This one had a face!
Eva was there too, arms crossed as she hovered in beside Storm.
"Howdy!" The flower grinned,"I'm Flowey, Flowey the Flower!"
"Y-you talk!" Storm jumped back slightly.
"Of course I can talk, silly." Flowey giggled before looking up at Storm,"Hmm, you're new to the Underground, aren't you?"
"Y-yeah.." Storm nodded slowly.
"Oh golly, you must be so confused. Someone has to help teach you how things work around here." Flowey tilted his head to the side,"I guess little old me will have to do."
"No! Eva will help." Eva pouted although her protests were ignored.
"Right, here we go." Flowey blinked and suddenly a red heart was floating in front of Storm,"See that heart? That's your soul, the very culmination of your being."
"My soul.." Storm voice came out as just a whisper.
"Your soul starts off weak, but can grow strong if you gain a lot of LV." Flowey told them.
"L..V?"
"What's LV stand for? Why, Love, of course!" Flowey's grin broadened,"You want some Love, don't you?"
Storm looked around before nodding, they wanted to be stronger.
"Aw, don't worry! Here, I'll share some with you." Flowey winked before five, little, white, seed-like pellets appeared around him,"Down here, Love is shared through... Little, white, Friendliness Pellets!"
"R-right." Storm nodded again, growing uneasy.
"Are you ready? Move around, catch as many as you can." Flowey instructed, the pellets slowly floating towards their heart.
"No! Don't touch, don't touch!" Eva shook her head rapidly.
Storm quickly moved their soul out of the way of the pellets, gaining them a disappointed look from Flowey.
"Uh, buddy, you missed them. Let's try again, okay?" He sighed, sending five more pellets towards Storm.
Again, Storm dodged them. Something seemed off about... Y'know, something was obviously going to be wrong about the strange, talking flower.
"Are you serious? Are you braindead? Run into the pellets!" Flowey raised his voice as the sent the pellets again.
This time, however, they were too fast for Storm to avoid and one collided with his soul, the pain causing them to fall the ground.
"You idiot." Flowey chuckled grimly, his face now terrifying to look at,"In this world... It's kill or be killed!"
"Storm!" Eva knelt beside them, glaring at Flowey.
"Why would anyone pass up an opportunity like this?" Flowey then surrounded Storm's soul with pellets,"Die."
Flowey laughed maniacally as the pellets inched closer and closer and just as Storm braced for the worst... Their injuries were healed and their HP restored.
"Huh..?" Storm blinked.
"What the f-" Flowey began before a fireball hit him, causing him to fly out of sight.
That's when a tall, goat woman, dressed in a purple robe appeared, a second fireball in her hand to create light.
"What a terrible creature, torturing such a poor, innocent youth.." The goat woman shook her head.
Storm slowly stood up, making a vain attempt to hide behind Eva.
"Ah, do not be afraid, my child. I am Toriel, Caretaker of the Ruins." Toriel introduced herself calmly,"I pass through this place ever day to see if anyone has fallen down. You are the first human to come here in a long time."
"I see.." Storm nodded slowly.
"Mama! I've been waiting for you!" Eva floated over happily,"Can we please go home and see-"
"Come! I will guide you through the Catacombs. This way." Toriel held a hand out to Storm, ignoring Eva.
Storm took Toriel's hand and let her lead them through to a purple-bricked area as Eva floated close behind. Red leaves crunched around them as they approached two staircases. Toriel climbed one and went through an open doorway as Storm stopped to touch a golden spark.
"The shadow of the ruins looms above, filling you with Determination." Eva whispered from behind them.
"Huh?" Storm spun around.
"Eva knew you were special! You are just like Eva." The ghost girl smiled,"Eva could Save too!"
"Save?" Storm raised a brow.
"Mhm." Eva hummed,"If something bad happened to you, then you'd appear right where you last touched a sparkly thing."
Storm just nodded slowly before following after Toriel. Saving? This wasn't a game, it was real. You couldn't just Save your progress... Right?
