-Y/n's POV-

I woke up a little after 10 am after tossing and turning for the rest of the night. My headache may be gone, but I am definitely feeling sore after the Sports Festival yesterday. I roll out of the bed and move for the shower as I take my sleepwear off and leave it on the floor as I go. I'll clean it later.

Probably not.

Anyway before I stepped in the shower I turned the water on for it to warm up and I looked in the mirror and saw I still have the bandages on my chest. I peel them off to see a large circular bruise right on my solar plexus about eight inches wide. The center was a dull blue and the edges were already yellowish so it was healing up fast, but damn did it look nasty. It looked like a less severe version of All Might's scar. I poked it without a second thought and the pain immediately made me wheeze. Okay, don't do that again. I stepped into the water and immediately sighed as the warm water passed over aching muscles. I'll spare you the details of my exact routine, but it was great. Just like a warm shower after a nice workout.

As I stepped out I saw my phone had a new message, so after drying my hands I checked it. It was a message from Mina.

"Remember to meet me at the station closest to school at lunch. You promised! :P"

I never promised anything about today, but it'd be rude to ignore her since I have literally nothing to do today. I see it's close to 11 so I get dressed and prepare to leave. I throw on the first clothes that I see and slip on some sandals by the door after I grab my wallet and keys.

As I'm walking to the station I couldn't help but feel eyes on me. I look around and see a decent amount of people that I pass looking my way and whispering.

"Hey, doesn't that kid go to UA?"

"That's a kid, why is he so tall?"

"Yeah he was one of the finalists yesterday!"

"He was a little brutal in the end wasn't he?"

"Yeah, but so was that explosion kid."

I just tried my best to tune it out as I walked. I got to my station and waited for the train to meet Mina. As I stood there I felt a need to stretch so I reached above my head and cracked my back. I heard a gasp and saw a child pointing at me and his mother cringing at the sight of my bruise because apparently my shirt rode up from as I stretched. I quickly covered it and made my way through the crowd on the platform. Thankfully the train finally showed up and I stepped on.

As I was looking at my phone, out of the corner of my eye I noticed a young boy around 10 or so sneaking peeks at me from his spot next to his parents. I pretended not to notice him and when he looked away I started staring right at him. When he looked back again he jumped slightly in surprise as he realized he'd been caught. He stood as straight as a board and looked forward. I chuckled to myself as I read my feeds, waiting for the train to make my stop.

As the train announced my stop I got up and made my way out. It was a little busy because it was almost lunch time so it was loud with shouting vendors and bustling people. I looked around and I couldn't see Mina so I made my way over to a bench by the edge of the platform and sat down. After some waiting I look at my phone and see it's almost 12:45. First she makes me leave the house on a day off, then she's the one that flakes. As I'm considering grabbing a quick bite and going back to bug Izuku I hear my name being called.

"Y/n!" Mina shouted as she came over. She was wearing black thigh high boots with a V cut at the top and a long sleeved blue and white striped sweater dress that hung below her shoulders. She also had what looked like a teal bead necklace and a longer black one with a matching handbag. As I stood up she stopped and looked at me confused before laughing.

"What?"

"Heh- What are you wearing?! Haha!" She asked between laughs.

I was wearing the first articles of clothes I saw in my room. I had on a pair of black forest camo cargo shorts with a D-ring belt, an unbuttoned blue, red and gray plaid shirt with a white undershirt, and a pair of white ankle socks and slip on sandals because I didn't feel like putting shoes on.

"This?" I ask as I grab my shirt. "This was the first stuff that I saw that was clean." I was looking over my attire when I heard a camera snap and looked up to see Mina with her phone out. "You just take a picture of me?"

"Yep! I just have to record this travesty of fashion." She said as she put one hand on her hip and waved her phone around. "Okay! Forget about lunch, we need an emergency shopping spree! Come on, I know a couple of shops around here that'd be perfect!" She said as she grabbed my arm and started pulling me towards the exit.

"What for?" I asked as her surprising grip led me.

"To get you some new clothes, dummy!" She said as if it was obvious.

"But I have cloth-!" but I was cut off as she whisked me away.

After what amounted to about two hours later Mina was walking down the sidewalk with me behind carrying six or seven bags, after being promised food for my effort, I somehow heard my name being called over the sound of my stomach growling.

"L/n!" I turned around and saw Kirishima and Sero walking up to me. Kirishima was wearing some gray board shorts, a dark red V-neck that had 'D.J' in bold black letters on it, and bright red crocs. Sero on a black and white track jacket, blue jeans, and a pair of black converse.

"Yo."

"Woah that's a lot of stuff, what'd you get?" Sero said as he reached into the bag.

"Wait these aren't--!" I tried to say as he pulled out a bright pink tank top that said 'QUEEN' in rhinestones. "--mine..." They stood there for a second before they burst out laughing. I couldn't tell if it was at me or the situation, but I was a little red either way.

"So you mind explaining what this all is?" Kirishima asked as he opened another bag, then quickly closed it with a blush on his face. What was in that bag? Mina had just handed it to me earlier.

"What was supposed to be me getting Mina some natto as an apology for being a dickhead at the festival turned into a shopping spree to get me, quote, 'a better fashion sense', turned into me holding all of the stuff she bought under the promise of food." I said as my stomach growled. "I don't think I'm getting the food..."

"Y/n, where'd you go?!" I heard Mina suddenly yell through the crowd.

"I'm 6'4" how do you lose me in a crowd!" I yelled as I looked around to find her. She quickly spotted me and rushed over.

"Heh, my bad." She said as she rubbed the back of her head. "Anyway! Look who I found~!" She said as a floating blue and pink striped tank top with white shorts and black tube socks popped out of the crowd.

"Yo what's up Hagakure!" Kirishima said with a wave.

"Hey guys!" Hagakure said with pep. "What are you all doing here?!"

"Me and Kirishima were picking up some pre-workout, he ran out before the festival and I wanted to try some." Sero said as he pointed his thumb between himself and Kirishima.

"I have been turned into a pack mule." I said in a monotone voice. Mina slapped my side for that one.

"Well since we're all here let's do something fun!" Hagakure suggested.

"Yeah that sounds like a blast!" Kirishima agreed.

"I'd rather just get something to eat and go ho--"

"*gasp* There's a karaoke place nearby!" Mina quickly interrupted me.

"That's perfect, let's go!" Hagakure shouted.

And as before Mina was somehow pulling me along. I tried to stop only to feel little resistance under my feet. I looked down and saw a thin layer of purplish liquid under my foot. I looked back up and saw Mina looking back. After seeing that I finally noticed, she stuck her tongue out at me and continued to pull me with her. Cleaver girl.

We all managed to get a larger booth for a few hours at a rather good price, apparently the owner was a big fan of the sports festival. Thankfully they also had a food menu that you could have delivered to your booth. I ordered a chicken sandwich that didn't look too bad, and listened to a few rounds of songs from the others.

"Come on! You gotta sing at least ooonne!" Mina whined at my denial to sing.

"Sorry, but I'm not singing." I said matter of factly.

"Come on, not just one?" Sero asked as he finished his turn and pointed the mic to me.

"I'd really rather not cause you guys hearing loss with my tone deaf self." As I said this my sandwich was delivered to the door to the booth as I got up to reach it Mina raced to the door and took the bag with a quick thanks to the staff. She held the bag in one hand and had a glob of acid in the other.

"If you don't sing, you don't get food!" She said as she held the bag away from me.

"Oh come on!" I said as I reached over, she strained to keep it out of my reach and succeeded. "*groan* Fine!" I grabbed the mic and went up to the touch screen to select a song.

I decided something high energy from my workout playlist should work. I looked over my shoulder and saw Mina and Hagakure were pretty much vibrating in their seats and Kirishima gave me a thumbs up. I turned back around and hit play.

When I finished I immediately heard my friends cheering, Kirishima slapped me on the back in praise.

"That was killer! You really rocked it!" He said.

"Yeah that was totally awesome! You completely blew Sero's performance out of the water!" Hagakure cheered.

"Hey..." Sero said sounding hurt.

I brushed off the praise and immediately went for my now unguarded meal.

After another hour of turns, minus mine, we ran out of time and left. We walked around the shopping district for a little longer until Kirishima had to rush home because he forgot to grab some groceries his parents asked him to get. Sero leisurely walked home after laughing at Kirishima's blunder, and Hagakure whispered something to Mina then said her goodbye.

It was getting late in the evening now and Mina told me her place was on the other side of the nearby park, so we took a shortcut through there. The trees were all in bloom so the park was full of vibrant greens from the trees and pinks from the cherry blossoms. As we walked Mina actually looked nervous about something as she rubbed her shoulders and kept looking my way.

"So what's bugging you all of a sudden?" I break the quiet and ask, she jumps a little at this.

"It's just, um, well...You had fun today, right?" She shuddered, but quickly asked me.

"Ehhh I mean, it really wasn't how I'd have preferred to spend the day..." I said with a shrug.

"Augh!" Mina groaned as she stopped and plopped down on the rim of the fountain we were walking past.

"Okay. What's your deal today? You've been doing one thing right after another today and dragging me around with ya."

"It's just...I've been trying to cheer you up okay?" She said as she hugged her knees to her chest and moped.

"...You spent your whole day trying to make me feel better?" I asked confusedly, she silently nodded while looking away. "*sigh* And why were you doing that?" I asked as I sat down on the fountain as well.

"It's because for the last week you've been so down in the dumps around class and yesterday whatever the sleepy looking guy did to you and Ojiro made it worse! Grrr!" She growled in frustration as she ran her hands through her hair. "...So I wanted to cheer you up and take your mind off whatever was wrong...I don't like seeing my friends sad like that, everyone looks better with a smile." She said as her voice tapered down. I looked at her face and she looked absolutely distraught, she's really this worried about a friend she met a little more than a month ago.

"...Well, um...thanks." I said as a small smile grew on my face at the thought of the effort she went through for me. Mina saw this and shot up to her feet and cheered loudly. "Heh, what is your deal now?" I asked with a laugh.

"That!" She said with a big grin as she pointed at my face. "That is the first real smile I've seen on your face in weeks! Yes!" She cheered and danced around.

"Alright, alright already you did it. Heh, now it's getting late so we should get you home." I said as I got up and went to pick up the bags, but Mina beat me to it.

"Actually~ I should make my way home by myself. I told my dad I was out with the girls from class and if he knew I was out all day with a guy, he'd totally flip!" She said as she expertly grabbed her bags and skipped away. "See ya~" She called back with a wave. I just smiled and waved before making my way back home.

Today really wasn't that bad I guess I thought as I flopped down in bed with a smile still on my face. I spent some time with friends, got a new pack of undershirts, spent the rest of the day alone with Mina.

...Wait.

I spent most of the day. Alone.

With Mina.

Oh fuck.
