Present Mic: "Who could've predicted the developments at the beginning or this conclusion? Right now, the first person back in the stadium is that man..." he said as he looked to see who came in first "Izuku Midoriya's made a huge splash!" he yelled over the mic and the crowd erupted. "Followed my Bakugo in second, Todoroki in third, And L/n in forth!"
As I collapsed into the fake grass of the stadium gasping for breath I heard the crowd roaring and I looked up to see Izuku standing there with a tear filled smile on his face along with the scoreboard on the big screen.
Y/n: "First? Not bad, bud. Not bad at all." I thought with a smile on my face as I looked back at Izuku with pride.

-Y/n's POV-
I came too face down in the grass a few minutes after finishing in fourth place. It felt like I was asleep for like 3 months, but whatever. I rolled over onto my back as I heard someone running past me.
"Deku, you were amazing!" Uraraka praised as she walked up to Izuku. "First place is awesome! I still have a long way to go...!" As she was congratulating him, Iida was having an existential because of how far down the board he was even with his quirk meant for speed. Seeing as no-one was making any move to help me up I sat up with a groan.
"*grunt* Don't worry guys I'm fin-?!" As I tried to stand up it felt like I was suddenly shifting dimensions and everything was spinning faster than it should, that being not at all. I fell forward trying not to throw up my non-existent breakfast.
"Y/n!" Izuku saw me go down and rushed over to me. "What happened, are you okay?!" He asked in a panic, kneeling down to me. "Do you need me to go get Recovery Girl? Or maybe get All Migh-!?" I cut him off before he went into complete disarray.
"I'm fine Izuku." I stopped him as I used his shoulder as a prop to stand up. "I didn't eat anything this morning and you know how much my quirk takes out of me." I said as I fully stood up. "I just pushed myself too hard again. Don't worry about it." I drolled out as I waved off, what I called, his unnecessary concern.
"What does your quirk have to do with you almost passing out?" Uraraka wondered out loud from behind Izuku as Iida walked up.
"It's why I eat so much at most meals. I'm pretty bad at explaining it so I'll let Izuku do it." I said as I gestured to him.
"Oh okay!" he quickly agreed because of how much he loved talking about quirks. "You see because of Y/n's quirk whenever he makes rocks on his body, instead of using the ones around him, it takes a lot of the iron and fat in his system!" he quickly explained. " That's why Y/n has to eat so many carbohydrates and keep his iron levels up so much." he finished.
"But I thought you said your quirk is similar to Bakugo's in that it utilizes your sweat?" Iida asked me as I shrugged.
"Like I said I'm bad at explaining it. It's more along the lines of my quirk using the pores in my skin to grow the stone when I need it. The more I make with my quirk the more it takes out of me, if I push a little too hard I'll get dizzy and my blood pressure will drop from the lack of iron." I finished off the explanation.
"You mean pushing it like that cool move you did at the end there, right?!" Uraraka questioned while she pointed at me. "That was so awesome!" she exclaimed as she threw her hands up.
"Yeah! What was that?! I've never seen you do that one before?!" Izuku asked with stars in his eyes.
"Like that one, huh?" I ask with a smirk on my face. "I've been working on it and a few others since last week. I found out when I cover my whole body the power boost is way more than just doing each limb separately. I call the move Juggernaut Rush." After the quick explanation we started idly chatting about how we performed till the end of the event.
As we were talking I noticed Yaoyorozu coming through the gate with a very distraught look on her face. Before it could ask what was wrong I noticed the problem. Meneta was clinging to her back with his quirk.
"Two birds with one stone, I'm a genius!" Mineta bragged out loud. I walked up behind them with a stern look and grabbed Mineta by the head and squeezed hard making him yelp in pain.
"Mineta..." I said in a very threatening tone. "If you don't let go in the next three seconds, we're gonna see if your head actually has a brain in there or if it's just grape juice." I swear his eyes were completely white from fear as he hesitantly nodded his head. He let go of Yaoyorozu and ran to the other side of the field.
"*sigh* Thank you so much, L/n. You have no idea how h-horrific it was to have that happen with the public eye on you." She stammered out with a blush on her face as she turned to face me. When she did I finally noticed she had her gym uniform open, I could feel my face start to heat up and redden.
"I-I guess you needed more than what you could make with your forearms during the race, h-huh?" I blurted out while I tried to keep my eyes on anything, but the attractive girl in front of me with an open shirt. Yaoyorozu looked up at me with confusion before a look of realization appeared on her face. She looked down at her undone shirt and her mild blush turned into full blown red face.
"Y-Yes d-during the second portion with the robots I made a c-cannon to deal with the ones that weren't f-frozen." She quickly stuttered out with embarrassment, now looking elsewhere herself and fidgeting with her shirt trying to close it.
"A cannon? That's cool.*cough*" I said absentmindedly before clearing my throat. After a awkwardly long bout of silence we both spoke up at the same time,
"I'm ah, gonna go back over the-./ If you'll excuse me a momen-."
We both stopped to let the other talk and after another moment of silence we started to laugh a little. Her laugh was light and delicate, but had so much joy behind it. After a moment we calmed down. I made a very exaggerated bow and my best fake posh accent.
"After you, ma'dam." she giggled again, putting a smile on my face, before taking on the same joking demeanor.
"Why thank you, sir." she said as she walked away. She turned around giving me a smile and a quick wave that made me feel rather warm inside. As I turned to walk away I found Kaminari and Sero looking at me absolutely slack jawed.
"...What?" I asked as they just stared at me.
"Dude. How are you that good?" Kaminari asked me in awe.
"Good at what, that accent? I just looked up some videos online when I was bored." I said with a shrug and walked away.

"The first game of the first-year stage is finally over." Midnight announced a few minutes after the last runner finished the course. "Now take a look at the results!" She said with a flourish and gestured to the big screen in the stadium. Looking at the board I noticed almost everyone from class 1-A finished within the margin, except for Aoyama. (A/n:Sorry Sparkle Boy, had to be done.)
"The top 42 made it through to the next round. It's unfortunate, but don't worry even if you didn't make it! We've prepared other chances for you to shine." Midnight said as he licked her lips. "The real competition begins next! The press cavalry'll be all over it! Give it your all!" She said hyping up the crowd. "Now then, here is the second game." Another slot wheel pulled up on the screen behind her and started spinning. "I already know what it is, but what could it be? What could it be?" She said in a teasing voice. "And here it is!" When the wheel stopped it said 'Cavalry Battle'.
"A cavalry battle? I'm bad at those..." I heard Kaminari mumble.
"--It's not an individual event, so I wonder how it'll work..." Tsu commented.
"The participants can form teams of two to four people as they wish." Midnight explained as a picture depicting 13, Present Mic, and All Might demonstrating the formation. "It's basically the same as a regular cavalry battle, but the one thing different is based on the results of the last game, each person has been assigned a point value."
"So it's point based like the entrance exam, hmm." Sato realized.
"So the team's points are based on who is on them." Uraraka thought out.
"Oh I get it!" Mina said, just now understanding the event.
"You guys don't hold back even though I'm talking, huh?!" Midnight yelled out in irritation. Composing herself she continued. "Yes, that's right! And the points assigned go up by five starting from the bottom." She said as the board changed to show what ranking is worth what points. I skimmed the board to see I had 195 points, but what caught my eye immediately was first place.
"But the point value assigned to first place is..." Midnight further explained as I looked at Izuku, who is now noticing what the board says too. "...ten million!"
That meant if you took the points of whatever team Izuku was on, you were in first place. I swear even though I wasn't the ones they were looking at I still felt the malicious glares every first-year giving Izuku. Even those I would call his friends had an evil look on their face, it sent shivers down my spine.
"That's right. It's survival of the fittest, with a chance for those at the bottom to overthrow the top!" Midnight said as the overwhelming pressure grew. "Now ten, I'll explain the rules. The time limit is fifteen minutes. Each team is worth the total of its members' points and the riders will wear a headband with that number on their foreheads. Teams will try to grab each other's headbands until time runs out, and try to keep as many points as they can. Headbands must be worn front the neck up." She went over some other minor rules before telling teams to gather up. I'm confident whatever plan Izuku is coming up with both involves me and a solid strategy, so before I team up with him I need to get something in my stomach so I'm not running on fumes for the event. As I made my way for the exit of the field I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Hey, you." A rather monotone voice stopped me. As I turned around to see who it was and scowl came over my face. It was the guy from general studies that called me out the other day.
"What the hell do you wa--" I was cut off as my mind went blank. I was still conscious, but it's like I was thrown into the backseat of my own head, I couldn't control my body, my mouth, or my eyes. I didn't like this.
Not at all.
I had no control, every action and reaction were not mine. This feeling brought up a memory I never wanted to remember.

Flashback 11 year ago
Manhattan, New York
I had just turned 6 years old a few days before it happened. I was sitting in a stark white room. There was a window on one wall that looked into another room that was typically buzzing with workers of some kind and the door on the other wall. The only things in the room with me were a small toilet, bed, and some dollar store toys. I was in a hospital gown because my clothes were absolutely shredded. I had just gotten my quirk, but I could care less given the circumstances.
I don't even know how long I sat in that room. All I clearly remember was I was scared. I couldn't cry, scream, eat, move, sleep, or even use the damn bathroom of my own accord. It felt like everything was dialed back to one. I just sat on the bed most of the time. My emotions were dulled, I felt disconnected from everything. There was this woman in a lab coat who would come in a few times every day. She had me eat, use the bathroom and run tests that she would record on the clipboard she always had. I did what she told me to whether I wanted to or not. Later I found out that was her quirk, it was some form of advanced hypnosis. They told me it was for everyone's safety I was kept like that. I knew that wasn't why, but I literally couldn't fight it.
I remember seeing a woman, who I later learned was my aunt from Japan, the woman with the clipboard, and an older man dressed in a suit arguing in front of the window a few times. My aunt would argue for hours at a time with them with tears in her eyes and she would be waved off. The man in the suit looked at me with disdain whenever he glared at me through the window and the woman looked at me indifferently, like this was just another day at the office to her.
I was told that was almost the daily routine for five months. Like I said I barely remember anything from the time. The day the woman stopped coming in was the day my aunt took me in. She came into the room and approached my bed slowly. As she sat down on the bed she introduced herself. She had blue eyes, and long blonde hair that's mostly combed back save for her bangs. She wore a simple baby blue sleeveless top that was tucked into a dark blue knee length skirt with a buckle that looked like the upper half of a cat's paw and matching short heeled shoes.
"Hi there Y/n, you may not remember me, but I'm your Aunt Ryuko." She said as she put a hand on my lap. "I know you've been through alot lately, but you're going to live with me from now on, okay?" She asked me as I just stared ahead at the wall with lightless eyes. She saw this and started to tear up as she pulled me into a tight hug. As she hugged me I finally realized I was tearing up myself and my head was clearing up. I slowly brought my hands up to my face to see that I was in control of myself again. The first thing I did was latch onto my aunt and not let go. I cried out all of the bottled up emotion that was stuck in my head for the last months into her chest. We sat like that until I fell asleep.

"In third place, Tetsute-- Huh? What, it's Team Shinso?!" I heard Present Mic yell over the speakers. My mind was a complete mess. I remember that purple haired prick stopped me and the rest of the event was a complete haze to me. I vaguely remember what happened, but not clearly. I remember I was the front of the cavalry formation with Ojiro and some guy from 1-B as the back and the general studies guy as the rider. We skirted along the outside of all the major fights and only took the smaller valued teams headbands and built up a score from that. I vaguely remember facing Izuku's team at one point and I saw what looked like a faint multi-colored flame burning where his heart was, but I brushed it off because of how broken the memory was.
"Thanks for the hard work." The prick, Shinso I guess, said with a smug smile on his face. Before he could walk away I grabbed his shoulder and whipped him around and grabbed him by the collar.
"What the fuck did you do to me!?" I yelled in his face with my teeth bared. He just looked me in the eye with a smug look and replied.
"I don't belong here, huh?"
I growled and threw him on the ground and stormed off. Present Mic announced Izuku's team took forth, but I really wasn't in the mood to listen. After a moment we were excused until the next round. As I was marching off the field with my fists clenched at my side, Mina trying striking up a conversation.
"Hey Y/n, I didn't see you guys on the field. Where were you?" She asked as she tried to keep up with my pace.
"I don't want to talk about it." I said flatly.
"Hey, what's up with you? I mean you weren't first, but you still moved onto the next--oouf!" She was interrupted when I stopped walking and she ran into my back.
"I don't want to talk about it." I said with far too much venom behind it. She was stunned by my tone as I walked away.

I made my way to the bathroom and splashed some cold water on my face to clear my head. My mind slowly calmed down after relieving all of those emotions so suddenly. My stomach growled, I sighed as I leaned off of the sink to actually go get something to eat. As I came out of the bathroom someone I really never wanted to see again appeared.
"Endeavor." I stoically said.
"L/n." he coldly replied back.
He was a tall, sturdily-built man with a very muscular physique. He had short crimson hair which he wore spiked up around his head and sharp turquoise eyes. His beard and mustache appeared to be made of fire. His hero costume consisted of a tight, navy turquoise bodysuit with lines of flame streaming across his chest, upper torso, arms, and most prominently his shoulders. He used his flames as a makeshift mask around his eyes, and the tall boots he wore appeared to be either made of fire themselves or constantly left alight, as only their soles and laces are visible around the flames.
Honestly when I was a kid I was really excited to meet Endeavor because I thought he was really cool and because he could do so much with what people labeled a 'highly destructive' quirk just like they did mine. So imagine my shock when the first thing that came out of his mouth was an insult. I've encountered Endeavor once or twice at the Pro hero events I've been to with my aunt. I can confidently say none of them have been pleasant, between him calling her a two-pit hero, calling me a 'waste of lineage', etcetera, etcetera. So we are not on the best of terms after I punched him in the crouch when he insulted my dead father. According to my aunt he knew my mother years ago and apparently tried to literally buy her hand in marriage for her strong quirk to have kids. The concept alone gives me chills.
The last time I saw Endeavor was before junior high, before I had pretty much all of my growth squirts at once. Before I was barely above the bottom of his pecks, now I'm eye level with him. We stared each other down for a solid minute before I broke the silence.
"*tsk* Fuck this, I don't have the energy for this." I said as I started walking toward where the food stalls were.
"My son is going to go far beyond anything you do." He said in a both matter of fact and challenging way.
"Honestly I didn't know you had a kid." I told him as I continued walking.
"You should be acquainted with Shoto, if I understand correctly." He said. I stopped walking and looked back at him over my shoulder and stared at him for a moment.
"...Yeah I see it." I said as I turned around to continue walking. "You both have that arrogant look on your face."
"...Miserable brat." I heard Endeavor grumble under his breath as he walked into the bathroom.

Eventually I found a pretty damn decent ramen stall. It was on the smaller side compared to the others, but the food made up for it. The place was called Ichiraku Ramen or something, but I wasn't in the state of mind to really read the sign on the front. I had four empty bowls stacked next to my right and was working on my fifth when a woman sat down next to me.
"I thought I'd find you where the food was." She said with a chuckle as she ordered the same meal I was having from the older gentleman behind the counter. I knew who it was before I glanced at her. It was Midnight, but she was wearing a hoodie and sweatpants over her hero costume. She had her glasses on and her hair up in a very sloppy ponytail.
"What up with the 'walk of shame' look?" I asked her.
"How do you know what that looks like?" She asked as she was handed her bowl.
"You came over to my aunt's house in the morning because it was closer than yours enough times she had to give me 'the talk' a few years earlier than she was expecting too." I said with my mouth half full the egg in my bowl.
"Anyway!" She said, trying to change the subject. "I saw you during the Cavalry Battle and you looked really out of it, what happened?" She said as she ate her noodles.
"I was out of it because that punk, Shinso I think his name was, used his quirk on me." I said as I took a sip of my soda. "It was some form of mind control. I'm not sure specifics, but he got me and the other two on the team." After a moment of silence Nemuri broke it.
"You want me to get him kick out of the festival? I can do that." She asked with a devilish smirk on her face.
"*sign* No. Either way he was still within the rules, but...thanks." I said with a small smile still looking and my bowl. There was another moment of silence, those are happening a lot lately.

No One's POV
"It felt just like back then. After it happened." Y/n said as all positive emotion fell from his face.
"...It's really been 10 years, huh?" Midnight asked while she just looked down at her bowl too.
"...11, actually, it was right before my sixth birthday." He corrected her. They were both quiet for a moment before Midnight got a look of realization on her face.
"Wait! What's today's date?!" She suddenly asked as she started rooting through her handbag. She checked her phone and breathed a sigh of relief. She calmly put her phone away and took out a small rectangular navy box pushing it on the counter towards Y/n. "Happy birthday, runt. I can't believe it fell on the same day as the festival." She said as she went back to eating her food.
"*sign* You didn't have to get me anything." He said as he took the box.
"Of course I did, especially after you got me that imported bottle of liquor for Christmas. How the hell did you even get that?" Midnight asked with an accusing look on her face.
"When you're 6'4" and built like a statue, the old man with poor eyesight at the liquor store doesn't exactly card you." Y/n said with a smug look.
"*fake gag* Yeah yeah sure Mr. Mature, now open it before I change my mind." She said, waving a hand at the box. Y/n chuckled and opened the box, his eyes grew a little wide.
He pulled a shiny watch out of the box. It was a Rolex with a two toned pearlmaster bracelet, it was silver on the edges and f/c on the inter band with an oyster clasp that matched. The inner face was f/c with silver hands and Roman numerals.
"Holy shit Nemuri, how much did this cost!?" Y/n asked, absolutely surprised.
"Not much, honestly. It's a knock off." She said with her mouth full, waving her chopsticks in the air dismissively.
"Ha, figures. Still it's great, thanks." He said putting it back in the box.
"Don't mention it, now go rest up you're gonna need it for the next event." Midnight said as Y/n put the box in his pocket and went to pay. "Don't worry about it I got it, my treat."
"Thanks, see ya later." He said as he walked back to the stadium. As Midnight took a sip of her drink the old man handed her the bill, she spit out her water after seeing the tab.
"He had five bowls!?" She asked the man in shock as he nodded his hand. "Miserable brat..." She grumbled under her breath, reaching into her handbag to pay.
A/n: Hey everyone, I just wanted to say thanks for sticking with this story after that small unannounced hiatus because of health issues and thank you so much to those that gave me such positive comments, it means so so much! As always let me hear your thoughts and comments. Peace!
