[Indigo League Journey Day 1, The forest between viridian city and pallet town, Kanto Region. 4PM Kantos Standard Time]

Serena's POV

Ash and I were on our way to Cerulean City and had just left Pallet town. The forest kept getting thicker as Pallet town got farther and farther from us. Pikachu was sitting on Ash's shoulders like always and was looking around the lush and green forest. Faint sounds of Pidgeys and Spearows were audible, different colors of flowers were blooming around the bushes of the thick green forest.

(In thoughts) "I still can't believe me and Ash are on a journey all alone! This is really exciting!" I said in my thoughts as my cheeks started to light up like a Charizard's tail. (In Thoughts) "I really wish Ash could come clean and make me his Girlfriend, i've seen the way he looks at me at times. I do hope this journey changes things between us. Or i'll do it myself like last time!" I said to myself in my thoughts again as I recalled our goodbye at the Airport in the Kalos Region. "I hope he breaks out of his shell soon" I said in a low voice without even realizing it. "Huh, Serena? Did you say something?" Ash said as he didn't seem to pick up on what I said but heard me regardless. "No, Ash! I didn't say anything!" I replied quickly in a nervous tone as I didn't feel that it was the time to talk about such stuff. Suddenly, two voices started to pop up in my head. One had a harsh tone, while the other spoke with a sweet melody.

(In head) "But how will he even know that you basically want to have his babies if you never tell HIM! He'll either accept it, or get away from you. Even IF he leaves you, you'll eventually find another guy!" My darker side told me as it tried to persuade me into going completely honest and clean with Ash, risking my friendship in the process.

(In head) "No, don't listen to that Serena, listen to me! You'll tell him when the time is right! You can't risk your friendship like that by taking things too fast, okay?" My lighter side said as it opposed the dark side and wanted Me to wait longer instead of putting my friendship with Ash on the line.

"Both of you! STOP!" I yelled out loud without realizing that it was my own thoughts that I was trying to stop from speaking. Ash listened to me and quickly stopped walking. "Pika?" (Why?) Pikachu said as he looked at me in a completely confused expression. "What happened, Serena?" Ash said to me as he turned around with one eyebrow raised. "Oh, nothing, Ash. It's just that.." I replied to Ash as I tried to come up with something. "Why don't we have supper?" I replied to Ash saying that I wanted to eat. Knowing Ash, He'd be thrilled to eat anytime! "Sure, Serena! let's have supper!" Ash said in a relieved manner. It felt like he was waiting for me to bring it up first. Ash reached his bag and took out a small green cloth that he put down on the ground. He sat down on it and started to take out some food from his bag that he had packed before leaving. "Cmon Serena, let's eat!" Ash said to me with a smile as he gave Pikachu some food to eat. 

"When should I even bring up such a risky topic?" I pondered as I kicked a small pebble on the ground in frustration. The Pebble flew deep into a few bushes nearby, and making a small noise. Suddenly, a buzzing sound started coming from the bushes. Pikachu picked up on the buzzing sound as he twitched both of his ears, leaving his food and positioning himself on all four of his feet and his yellow spiky tail in the air, ready to attack. Suddenly, a swarm of beedrill came out of the bushes, and looked completely pissed off. They were probably in the bushes and got disturbed by the pebble I had accidentally kicked towards them. "Quick! Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Ash yelled as he quickly commanded Pikachu to attack the wild Beedrill. 

"PIka----CHU!" Pikachu yelled, jumping high up in the air as he built up electricity in his cherry red cheeks, causing sparks of electricity come out of his body and his cheeks as they filled up with electricity, and released it from them, as he executed a lightning thunderbolt attack. Pikachu's thunderbolt was powerful enough to affect all of the Beedrill that had just come out, causing them to retreat their attack. 

Writer's POV

"Whoa, that was close! You okay?" Ash said to Serena as he extended his arm. "I-I'm okay, Ash" Serena replied as She took Ash's arm and stood up. 

The pair then heard a glittering and sparkling noise. Everything around Ash and Serena seemed to had lit up from a huge flashlight beaming from above. Ash and Serena both looked above them and spotted Ho-Oh flying away towards the direction of the Viridian Forest. "Who's that Pokemon? Do you see it too?" Serena asked Ash as she didn't know about Ho-Oh. "That's a Ho-oh, Serena. I was wondering when it'd show up." Ash replied with a happy tone. A rainbow-colored feather, most likely from Ho-oh floated down and landed right on Ash's hand as he was speaking "You were expecting it?" Serena replied to Ash in confusion. "Whenever I start off to go on a journey, Ho-Oh appears and guides me. It was going towards the Viridian forest" Ash explained. "Do you mind if we take a slight detour? I wanna see if this means something. we might as well go visit my friend Brock in Pewter City, which is just next to the forest." Ash added as he explained to Serena. "Sure, Ash. I don't mind at all!" Serena replied with a positive attitude. She could tell that it was important to Ash to know why Ho-oh wanted it to take a detour. "We should move now, this place isn't exactly safe. We're almost at Viridian City so we'll just have our supper there" Ash said as he packed everything in bag and picked it up.  

[Time skip, 5PM, Viridian City]

Ash and Serena have now arrived in Viridian City on their way to the Viridian forest. The pair are walking on a pavement next to the road. The whole area is filled with different types of shops, each with their own bright and colorful banners. Different people were walking around and going about their respective business. Pikachu is sitting on Ash's shoulders as always and Serena is walking side-by-side with them through the beautiful Viridian city's urban landscape. 

Soon, the people around Ash and Serena started to move away as they saw Ash and Serena together. It was as if they were completely surprised to see the two walking there. People in the distance started whispering to each other "Hey isn't that the boy from the--?" "Yeah, i thought so! i wonder what he's doing here?" a few women talk to each other looking at Ash in a faint voice behind him.

Serena's POV 

(In thoughts) "Why is everyone suddenly surprised to see us? I wonder if something's on my face" I thought as I quickly grabbed my pocket-mirror out of my bag to check my face. Thankfully, nothing seemed to be on it.

"Hey! you're Ash from pallet town, right? can I please have your autograph?" a small girl said in a very sweet manner as she approached Ash with a pen and a small notebook. "Uh--Yeah sure, but why are you asking for MY autograph?" Ash replied in confusion as he grabbed the pen from the small girl and autographed on the notebook. "Silly, it's because you're Ash!" the small girl replied as she went off, not making any sense whatsoever. As soon as the small girl left a few more people came to Us saying they too wanted an autograph. It started to get crowded quickly and soon it became hard for us to even breathe! There could've been nearly a hundred people tugging Ash just so they could see him.

"Get out of the way!" Officer Jenny said as she appeared in the sea of people and quickly dragged Ash, Pikachu and me out of the huge crowd. She quickly pulled us into the back seat of her Police Patrol car and didn't waste any time hitting the gas and getting us out of there. 

Ash' POV 

"You shouldn't be wandering around in public like that. not without hiding your public identity, at least." Officer Jenny said to me as she drove the car. "Sorry to say this but, I have no clue what just happened, Officer Jenny. Would you mind explaining?" I replied to Officer Jenny since I had no clue whatsoever what she was talking about. "You've gained some instant fame after this article came out today" Officer Jenny said as she handed me a newspaper "This is an article about evolution in Pokemon. What does it have to do with me?" I asked Jenny as I read the Article. "Look down here, the article is a summary of an interview with Professor Sycamore. I believe you know him, right?" Jenny replied to Me as she pointed towards a sentence that mentioned the Professor. "Yeah, we know him. So what?" I replied in a still confused manner as I still couldn't understand how I managed to gain fame. "Just read the whole thing. You'll get it. It's national news, by the way. Could go on a global scale if the prove gets solidification" Jenny said as she replied while still keeping her eyes on the busy road.

"Show it to me too" Serena said as she grabbed a part of the newspaper so she could see the article too. "So that's why!" I said as I read the article. "Yes, Ash. According to current research conducted by Professor Sycamore, you're the only human alive that has the rare power to use the bond between you and your Pokemon to increase their powers and temporarily transform them in battle. An ancient ninja village in Kalos was home to the last person known to have this power before you. And that was many years ago" Officer Jenny said to Me as my jaw dropped after reading the whole article. "Your ability had been gathering attention after the Lumiose Conference when the general public saw your Greninja in its transformed form" Officer Jenny added, explaining everything. 

"So what do we do now? It seems impossible to go around if so many people know me" I asked Officer Jenny since I was instantly irritated by how the crowd treated me. "Just wear a disguise when you're around too many people to avoid recognition. Can't say if this is a lifetime of fame or 15 minutes of it. If everything is true, you'll have to get used to it" Officer Jenny replied as she brought the vehicle to a stop right in front of a clothes shop. "Right! Thanks, Officer Jenny!" I said as I got out of her car and went straight into the shop with Pikachu and Serena right behind me. I started to think about how champion Diantha behaved since she too disguised herself to prevent people from recognizing her in public. Serena managed to find the right size of clothes for me as I had to wait in the trial room to avoid risking people recognizing me.

Writer's POV

Serena searched around the store and gave Ash a pair of black sunglasses, a blue extended jacket, and a blue hat to go with it. Ash tried it on and came out. "How do I look?" Ash asked Serena in a nervous manner. "You look quite different! It's hard to know that it's you or not" Serena replied much to Ash's relief. "Good. That's exactly what I want. Where do we go from here?" Ash asked Serena. *Gggrhrrrhphmm* Serena's stomach rumbled, causing her to quickly place her hands over it in embarrassment.  "Well, we could go and get some supper now. I could use some food after all that tugging I went through in that crowd. I hope this outfit makes it harder for people to recognize me" Ash said to Serena as he walked towards the counter and paid for his clothing. 

 Pikachu jumped on Ash's shoulder as usual but was met with a surprise: Ash's new jacket was extremely hard to get a grip on! Pikachu fell down face first since he didn't expect the new jacket to be any different than the one before. "Oh, sorry Pikachu. I didn't know that was gonna happen" Ash said to Pikachu in a silly manner as he chuckled a bit. "Here, you can sit on my shoulders, Pikachu" Serena said as she picked up Pikachu. Pikachu jumped right off of Serena's hands and climbed up on her shoulders just like he does with Ash. "Appreciate it, Serena. let's go" Ash said to Serena as he got out of the shop.  

Serena's POV

(In thoughts) "I had no idea that the jacket I found for Ash would make it hard for Pikachu to sit on his favorite spot. He's on my shoulders but I don't know if he likes sitting here or not. I hope Ash doesn't think bad about me" I thought to myself as Me and Ash went to a small cafe next to the clothing shop and grabbed a bite to-go. Ash seems to have gotten scared of crowds fast. He just keeps thinking someone will recognize him and he'll have to go through the same pain all over again. 

"let's just leave town and go into the forest. we'll be much safer there than in a Pokemon Center. What do you say?" Ash asked me as he wanted to avoid people as much as possible. (In thoughts) "I hope he doesn't pick up a phobia of crowds" I thought to myself as I zoned out, not realizing I hadn't answered Ash's question. "Don't worry, I've brought the necessary stuff for a stay in the forest" Ash added as he thought I was concerned about not being prepared for an outdoor stay. "Okay, Sure, Ash" I replied, agreeing to going to the forest. Ash, Me and Pikachu went on to exit the City and entered the Viridian forest. "Phew! that was close" Ash said as he took off his sunglasses and hat since nobody was around anymore. It was almost sundown now and we soon decided on a spot to set camp for the night.
