Note: Whenever I use the words 'holographic shape of a helix', I mean the holographic somewhat DNA-Like shape that briefly appears in front of a Pokemon after it completes its Mega-Evolution. I have no clue what this shape is actually called, so that's why I use the admittedly incorrect term: 'helix'.

Narrator: "As our hero takes the next step to become stronger, his journey brings him back to the Kanto Region. Little does he know, he's about to get a surprise visit---"

[Viridian City Airport, Kanto Region. 2PM]

Bonnie took a deep breath, looking around at the city. She was standing right outside the entrance of the Airport, all alone.

Ash came running outside, and joined Bonnie. "Sorry I'm late!" He said. Pikachu was sitting on his shoulder.

"Where were you?!" Bonnie said to Ash, looking up to his face.

"Ah-- I was just swapping out some Pokemon from the Professor's Lab" Ash replied, rubbing the back of his head. "pika--chu--" Pikachu said, rubbing the back of his head as well.

"Huh? What do you mean? Which Pokemon did you swap?" Bonnie asked.

"Oh, you'll see later--- Let's replenish our supplies at the PokeMart. We have to make way through the Viridian Forest to get to Pewter City. It'll take a bit over a day." Ash said, as he started walking.

"Uh--- sure, fine--" Bonnie said, as she started walking alongside Ash.

...

Meanwhile, Over at Detective Riley and Mars---

The pair were going through Viridian City, in Riley's Patrol Car. As usual, Riley was driving the car while Mars was in the passenger seat. A moment later, Riley pulled over in front of a PokeMart and got out of the car.

Riley walked around the car, and stood near the door of the Passenger seat as Mars got out of the car as well. The door to the passenger's seat was open, and right before Mars could close it, Suddenly---

*Pew*

*ThHP*

A voice of a suppressed bullet came, as it hit the opened door and got deflected away, hitting the ground. The door, along with the rest of the car was bullet resistant, the reason why the bullet deflected.

"Huh?" Riley said, as his sights went towards the window of the door, where the bullet hit before deflecting. That exact point had a large mark of shattered glass on it that made it clear that a bullet had hit.

Mars also looked at the door, as her eyes opened wide.

Riley's sights quickly went on the top of a 4-story building in the distance, where three figures were visible. One of them had a sub-machine gun aimed towards him. The three figures were Team Rocket Grunts. They shot another round towards Mars.

*Pew*

"GET down!" Riley yelled, as he quickly grabbed Mars and pulled her towards him. He then quickly dropped to the pavement, causing the open door of his car to act as a shield.

*ThHP*

"What just happened?!" Mars exclaimed, as she looked at Riley. She then looked at Riley's left shoulder, which was rapidly bleeding. "No! Riley! Your shoulder!" She said with widened eyes, as she looked on. She quickly grabbed Riley's shoulder, putting pressure on it to reduce the bleeding.

"Quick--- Agh---" Riley said, as he moved a bit. "Some Grunts are shooting at us---" He added, looking at the open door that was constantly shaking because it kept getting shot at with a rapid rate of machine-gun fire.

The surrounding crowd already panicked, with people running away from the area.

"Get on the driver's seat when--- I tell you--- okay---?" Riley said, with pain in his voice.

"O-Okay---" Mars replied, still shocked while applying pressure to Riley's wound.

Suddenly---

The automatic sliding doors of the PokeMart opened, and Ash, along with Bonnie came out of it. The two looked at Riley, and immediately recognized him along with Mars.

"Riley! Mars! What happened?!" Ash exclaimed, looking at the blood on Riley's shoulder and on Mars's clothes.

"Someone's shooting at us!" Riley yelled, looking at Ash. "Form an Aura Shield around us! NOW!" He added.

Ash quickly nodded and raised his arms straight ahead, as his eyes and hands glowed with a blue Aura. He then formed a large Aura Shield around the whole Car and himself, including Bonnie.

Riley grabbed a hook under the passenger seat, causing the seat to slide completely ahead and allow entrance to the backseats. He then quickly got up on his feet, shaking with pain. Mars was still holding his shoulder, applying pressure.

"GO!" Riley said to Mars, grabbing her hand on his shoulder and taking it off. Mars quickly ran around, and got into the driver's seat. She wasted no time in pressing the ignition button and starting the car.

Riley quickly jumped inside the backseat, while holding his shoulder firmly, applying pressure.

"Bonnie, Get in!" Ash exclaimed. Bonnie stood still, completely shocked while her legs shook in terror.

"GET IN!" Mars exclaimed as she leaned from the driver's seat, and grabbed Bonnie's arm. She then pulled her inside, and pushed her to the backseat right next to Riley. Mars then grabbed the passenger seat and straightened it, allowing Ash to get seated.

Ash quickly leaned and got inside the car, with his hands and eyes still glowing blue. He quickly closed the door of the car as he got seated. His hands were now over the dashboard, still focusing his powers and keeping up the huge Aura Shield that was protecting the whole car.

"Get us out of here! Quick!" Riley exclaimed, looking at Mars.

Mars quickly nodded, and slammed the Gas pedal, causing the car to go into a wheel spin.

*tire Screech*

"Take it easy!" Riley exclaimed. "That's a 1000 bhp engine under the hood! Take it easy for a sec!" He added.

"What? A Thousand? What is this? A racecar?!" Mars said, releasing half of the gas pedal. The wheel spin stopped, and the car jetted off at great speed.

"You need power to carry such ridiculous amounts of Armor---!" Riley said. "agh--- the leather is ruined---" He added, looking at the seat which was getting stained by his blood.

Ash was looking at the Grunts that were firing bullets. He kept looking at them until they were no longer in sight. He then lowered his hands, relieving himself from the stress.

"Riley--- what just happened? Why were those people suddenly shooting at you? Were those Team Rocket Grunts?" Ash asked, as he turned around and looked at Riley lying on the backseat.

"I--- ugh---" Riley said in pain. "Just--- get me to a hospital--- I'll explain later." He said, as he closed his eyes.

"Riley!" Mars yelled, looking at Riley through the rear-view mirror of the car. "Dammit! He's losing blood fast! We need to hurry!" She said, as she quickly pressed a button for the siren of the car.

*Police vehicle sirens*

"Hang on to something!" Mars exclaimed, as she slammed the gas pedal.

*Tire screech*

*Engine revving up*

...

...

Nearly 2 hours later, at the hospital.

Ash, Bonnie, and Mars were sitting on some chairs outside the operating room.

"Did your blood match?" Ash asked, looking at Mars who was looking at a small Band-Aid on her arm.

"Yeah" Mars replied, pulling her sleeve back over her arm.

A Doctor came outside. She was wearing a white lab coat, black glasses, and had short blonde hair going down till her shoulders.

Mars quickly stood up and looked at the Doctor. "Is Riley okay?" She asked.

"Yes. He's perfectly fine. The blood you donated was very helpful. O negative doesn't come by very easily." The Doctor said. "You can see him now if you wish." She added, before walking away.

Mars quickly rushed inside the operating room. Ash and Bonnie followed.

Riley was sitting on the bed, with his legs on the ground. He was shirtless, revealing his muscular body. He had a bandage on his left shoulder, covering his wound where the bullet had hit him.

"Riley--- are you feeling okay?" Mars asked.

"Never better" Riley replied, looking at his hat and vest on a table to the side. "It's a good thing the Grunts were using low velocity rounds." He added, as He stood up on his feet. Mars quickly grabbed Riley's right arm firmly, supporting him.

"Hey Riley---" Ash said. "Shouldn't you rest?" He asked the Detective.

"No time--- those Grunts might come looking for us here. We need to get out of here as quick as possible." Riley said, as he walked towards his hat and put it on his head. He then grabbed his blood-stained vest as well.

"Are they just going to let a patient go so fast?" Bonnie asked.

"Don't worry. My badge is powerful enough to get us out of here without discharge papers. Let's just grab the prescribed medicine and get out." Riley said.

...

A few moments later---

Ash, Bonnie, Riley, and Mars walked out of the hospital. Riley's car was parked right in front of the main gate. Everyone stood in front of Riley's car now.

"Where are we going to go? I hope the plan's changed." Mars said to Riley.

"No--- Those grunts are probably waiting for us--- that would be a dumb move" Riley replied. "Probably someplace away from here" He added.

"Well---" Ash said, thinking. "Isn't it best if you went back home? You do have a house, right?" He asked Riley.

"Yes--- but that's here in Viridian City--- The Grunts will have an ambush there too--- They might be getting smarter---" Riley said, thinking. "Where are you two headed?" He asked Ash and Bonnie.

"Oh--- we're actually headed to Pewter City--- then we're gonna move up north towards Rota." Ash said.

"Rota? You mean you're going to Cameran Palace?" Riley asked in a surprised manner.

"Yeah--- I'm actually on a journey to get stronger, so that's my first stop." Ash replied.

"Hmm--- would you like it if I gave you a lift? I myself wished to visit that place again for a very long time, but I just didn't have an excuse--- till now." Riley said, looking at his left shoulder.

"Uh--- sure---" Ash replied.

"Riley--- what about the investigation?" Mars asked.

"We need to wait a few days. Let things cool down--- It's extremely dangerous right now." Riley replied. "Besides, we've done a month's worth of work in one day. Nobody's complaining if we take a few days off" He added.

[Meanwhile, in the distance over a building]

Two Grunts stood on top of the building, looking down across the street. They were looking at the group. They both had sub-machine guns attached to their waists, and one Grunt had an RPG (Rocket Propelled Grenade) Launcher attached to his back.

"Do we really blast em'?" Grunt1 asked Grunt2.

"We got clear orders. We have to kill Mars at any cost." Grunt2 replied, loading up his Rocket Launcher and aiming it straight at the group, with his crosshair focused on Mars.

"Bombs away" Grunt1 said, covering his ears as the Grunt holding the Rocket Launcher pressed the trigger, launching a rocket straight at everyone.

[Back at the Group]

Suddenly, Ash and Pikachu's ears twitched, as they sensed the rocket coming towards them. Ash turned his head, spotting the rocket approach everyone.

Ash's pupils dilated, and his expression went completely serious. He quickly raised his right arm aimed straight at the oncoming rocket, causing it to glow with a blue outline and suddenly stop mid-air one meter away from everyone.

"AH!" Riley, Mars, and Bonnie said in a fearful manner, as they looked at the Rocket hovering in mid-air, controlled by Ash's Aura.

Ash quickly formed a fist in his right hand, and twisted it, causing the rocket to turn around 180 degrees, aimed straight at the source.

"Cowards. Up there---" Ash said as his eyes glowed with an intense blue Aura.

The Grunts quickly reloaded their Rocket Launcher and fired another Rocket, aimed straight for the group again.

Ash's hand stopped glowing, as he released the Rocket from his Aura's control. The Rocket went straight towards the newer oncoming rocket, causing a mid-air collision which resulted in an explosion.

*BOOM*

*crowd screaming*

The Grunts quickly went on a rampage, as they reloaded their Rocket Launcher and aimed at the roof of the hospital building, launching a rocket straight up.

"No!" Everyone said, as they looked at the Rocket hit the top of the towering Hospital, causing a large amount of rubble and huge chunks of concrete to rain down on everyone. The impact also created a fire on top of the tower.

Ash quickly went for his Pokeballs attached to his waist, and threw one up in the air.

*Pop*

"Ra!" Lucario exclaimed, as he came out of his Pokeball.

"Lucario! Shield us! Full power!" Ash exclaimed, as he raised his arms up high. His hands and eyes glowed with a bright blue color, as he created a shield over everyone and Riley's car.

Lucario also raised his arms up in the air, causing Ash's Aura shield to gain strength and intensity. Riley raised his one arm up in the air, doing his best to help strengthen the shield.

*BAM* *BOOM* *boom* *bam*

The huge pieces of concrete hit the Aura Shield, cracking it a bit in the process but successfully deflecting it away. Numerous other large pieces also fell around the area, causing a roadblock and blowing up other nearby cars before puncturing their fuel tanks.

Fires formed around Ash and the rest, as they got surrounded.

"Agh-- Riley!" Ash said, looking at Riley.

"I know--- It's getting hot in this shield---!" Riley said, looking around.

"What do we do?!" Ash asked.

"Don't any of you have any water-type Pokemon?" Mars asked.

"AH!" Ash said. "I don't!" He added.

"Bonnie! What about you?!" Riley asked Bonnie.

"No-- I only have Dedenne and Squishy." Bonnie replied.

"Can't Squishy use Land's wrath? That might take out the fire!" Ash exclaimed.

"It's no use!" Riley said.

"Huh? Why?" Bonnie asked, looking at her Squishy.

"Zygarde Cells can't travel through Aura Shields--- we'll be toast before Zygarde absorbs any cells." Riley said.

"Then What do we do?" Mars asked. She wiped the sweat off of her forehead using her arm while looking around.

"Dammit! Ash! Lucario! Just focus with full power! We'll have to wait here till the fire department makes it way!" Riley said, focusing his Aura on the shield to keep its strength up and the flames away.

A few moments later---

*Police vehicle sirens*

...

"About freakin' time--" Riley said, as him and everyone else sweated continuously.

"Wartortle!" "Wartortle!" "War-Wartortle! War!" Numerous voices of Wartortle came from around the whole area.

"Wartortle Squad! Use Hydro Pump!" Officer Jenny's voice exclaimed.

...

Smoke covered the whole area, as the Wartortle Squad extinguished the fire instantly.

"War? War-War-tortle?" Wartortle said, as he walked up to Ash and the rest. It was Ash's Wartortle, the leader of the Wartortle Squad wearing his spiky black sunglasses.

Ash lowered his arms, and so did Lucario and Riley.

"It's Wartortle!" Ash said, as his mouth opened wide. "Pi-Pikachu!" Pikachu said, looking at Wartortle.

"It's your Wartortle again!" Bonnie said, looking at the Water-type Pokemon.

"Waaaar!" Wartortle said with a smile, as he ran up to Ash, with his tail wagging.

"Buddy!" Ash said, as he knelt down on the ground and hugged the shellfish Pokemon.

The smoke still remained, blocking the view of the Grunts who were waiting to see if they were successful in their mission. Riley's sights went straight towards the building in the distance, from where the rockets came from. His eyes glowed blue, as he saw the Auras of the lifeforms surrounding him. He saw through the smoke, and spotted the Grunts standing still in the spot.

Riley quickly took out his Pokeball and threw it in the air. "Lucario! Aura Sphere on that building's top!" He exclaimed.

*Pop*

"RA!" Riley's Lucario exclaimed, coming out of his Pokeball. He closed his eyes after looking at the place Riley was pointing.

"Lucario! You too! Aura Sphere on those Grunts!" Ash exclaimed, ordering his Lucario.

Both Lucarios closed their eyes, and put their hands together. They formed a blue ball of Aura between their hands and looked at the Grunts using the power of Aura.

"RRA!" Both Lucarios exclaimed, throwing their Aura Spheres straight at the feet of the Grunts and causing an explosion.

*BOOM*

"AAAAH!" The Grunts exclaimed, as they fell towards the ground since the Aura Spheres knocked out the floor under their feet.

*BAM*

The Grunts fell on the pavement, as the smoke cleared.

"You two! You're--- agh--- You're both under arrest!" Riley exclaimed in a bit of pain, as he started walking towards the Grunts. He was holding his shoulder pain.

Officer Jenny, and the rest of the Wartortle Squad came running and joined everyone.

"Officer Jenny! And the rest of the Wartortle Squad!" Ash said, looking on. "There's a fire up there too!" He added, pointing up.

"Wartortle! War!" Ash's Wartortle said to his teammates, pointing at the entrance of the hospital.

Officer Jenny quickly nodded, along with the rest of the Wartortle Squad. She ran straight inside the hospital building, along with her team of fire-fighting Pokemon except Ash's Wartortle.

The Grunts quickly got up on their feet and went for their waists to grab their guns, but then realized that they dropped their weapons when the explosion happened.

"You're over!" Riley exclaimed. Mars stood beside him, ready to throw a Pokeball and call out Arcanine.

Both Lucarios also stood beside Riley and Mars, ready to attack the Grunts. Ash, Bonnie, and Ash's Wartortle joined them.

"Heheh--- why don't we settle this then?" The two Grunts said, as they went for their waists and took out one Pokeball each. They then threw the Pokeballs, calling out a Dragonite, and a Hydreigon.

"Drra--!" "Hyyy--dreigoonn! The two Pokemon exclaimed, as they came out of their Pokeballs.

"Whoa--- when did Team Rocket get such strong Pokemon?" Ash said in a surprised manner.

"Ernest and his big mouth--" Bonnie said in a grumpy manner, thinking back.

Ash looked at his Lucario, who was breathing heavily due to using the power of his Aura for so long.

(In Ash's thoughts) "I think its better I bring out Charizard--- A few Dragon Rushes and these two will be gone" Ash thought to himself as he quickly took out a Pokeball.

"War!-- Wartortle!" Ash's Wartortle exclaimed, as he grabbed Ash's hand and stopped him from throwing the Pokeball.

"Huh?" Ash said, looking at Wartortle.

"War-War!" Wartortle said, forming a fist.

"All right---" Ash said, as he nodded his head and put Charizard's Pokeball away. Wartortle walked and stood in front of Ash, ready to battle.

"Lucario--- Take a rest" Ash said, aiming Lucario's Pokeball at it and calling him back.

Riley's Lucario walked up ahead and stood in front of Riley, ready to Battle. Mars was going to throw her Pokeball, but Riley grabbed her hand, stopping her from interfering in the battle.

"This is going to be a fair battle---" Riley said in a completely serious manner.

Ash and Riley looked at each other, and nodded.

"Lucario! Use Aura Sphere!" Riley said, ordering his Lucario.

"Wartortle! Water Pulse!" Ash said, ordering his Wartortle.

"Rrr--AA!" Lucario exclaimed, forming a blue ball of Aura between his hands and launching it at Hydreigon.

"Waaarrr--Tortle!" Wartortle exclaimed, as he opened his mouth and shot a blue sphere of energy aimed straight at Dragonite. The sphere exploded into water on contact.

*BOOM*

"Agh!" The Grunts said.

"Dragonite! Thunderbolt!" One Grunt said.

"Hydreigon! Dragon breath!" The other Grunt said.

*BOOM*

...

...

*BOOM*

Wartortle got sent flying away by Dragonite, and landed in front of Ash. His body was covered in marks.

"RA!" Lucario exclaimed, as he delivered the last blow of his Close Combat on Hydreigon, taking it out. Hydreigon got launched away and landed straight on top of the Grunt that was commanding it, taking him out along with it.

"Come on, Wartortle! Show em' what you've got!" Ash yelled.

"Pika-Pika!!!" Pikachu said, forming a fist. "You can do it!" Bonnie exclaimed. "Nenene!" Dedenne exclaimed. Squishy silently looked on, observing the battle from his yellow bag.

"Warrrr---- TORTLE!" Wartortle exclaimed, as he opened his mouth wide, releasing a multicolored beam of Dragon-Shaped energy aimed straight at Dragonite.

*BOOM*

"AH!" Ash said, with wide open eyes.

"That was Dragon Pulse! Awesome!" Bonnie said, with stars in her eyes.

Suddenly---

"War--TORTLE!" Wartortle exclaimed, as his body started glowing with a bright blue color.

Ash's eyes opened wide, as he looked at Wartortle's body increase in size. "Pi-kaaa---" Pikachu said in a surprised manner, with wide open eyes as well.

"It's---" Mars said, looking on. "Evolving---" Riley added. "Yes!" Bonnie said in excitement.

Wartortle's body grew in size as its ears changed into a triangular shape. Its tail got shorter and less noticeable. The bright glow on Wartortle's body left, revealing that Wartortle had now evolved into a Blastoise.

"BLASssss--TOISE!" Blastoise exclaimed loudly, causing the ground to tremble a bit from his loud thick voice.

"Awesome! Wartortle! You just evolved into a Blastoise!" Ash said, forming two fists. "Pika-Chu!" Pikachu said, forming a fist.

"Blass-toise!" Blastoise said while looking back at Ash. He adjusted his glasses, before turning back towards Dragonite.

"Now! Blastoise! Use Dragon Pulse!" Ash said, forming a fist.

"Dragonite! Use Thunderbolt!" The Grunt exclaimed.

"Blaaaaasss---TOISE!" Blastoise exclaimed, as he took out his two shoulder-cannons, and launched two small multicolored Dragon-Shaped energies from them aimed straight at Dragonite. The two energies merged mid-air, forming one normal-sized Dragon Pulse.

"Dddrrrraa-!" Dragonite exclaimed, as the two antennae on its head sparked, and released a yellow beam of electricity aimed straight at the oncoming Dragon Pulse.

*BOOM*

Dust formed and cleared, revealing that the two attacks had cancelled each other out.

"Argh--" Ash said, as he started grinding his teeth.

"Do you want Lucario to lend a hand, Ash?" Riley asked.

"NO!" Ash replied. "Blastoise and I--- this is our Battle!" He added, forming a fist.

"Blas-Blastoise!" Blastoise exclaimed, forming a fist as well. His expression was completely serious.

"If our attacks are equal in strength, then we'll just have to get stronger!" Ash exclaimed, as his eyes glowed with a blue Aura. "Blastoise! Dragon Pulse! Full POWER!" He yelled, as suddenly a series of blue rays emerged from his body, and went straight into Blastoise's body.

"What" "Huh" "No way!" "pii---ka--!" Everyone said, as they looked on in a surprised manner.

"We can get even stronger if we work together!" Ash yelled, as Blastoise's body reacted to the blue rays and glowed brightly. It increased further in size, and its two Shoulder-cannons merged into one. Two small shells formed on its arms as well.

Blastoise's body stopped glowing, revealing that it had Mega-Evolved into Mega-Blastoise. A holographic icon of a helix also appeared briefly in front of Mega-Blastoise.

Bonnie's PokeGear showed a notification of some sort, but since it was put on silent mode, Bonnie didn't notice.

"NOW! Blastoise! Dragon Pulse let's go!" Ash yelled.

"Blaas---TOISE!" Blastoise exclaimed, as he aimed his arms straight towards Dragonite and deployed a cannon from the shell on each arm. Blastoise then fired three differently colored beams from its three cannons. The beams then combined into a giant multi-colored energy dragon.

"Whoa---" Bonnie said, looking at the huge Dragon Pulse.

"What in the world--- Dragonite! Thunderbolt it!" The Grunt exclaimed.

Dragonite charged up its antennae and released a yellow beam of electricity from them, aimed straight at the oncoming Dragon Pulse.

Blastoise's powered-up Dragon Pulse pierced right through the thunderbolt, going straight for its mark. The Dragon Pulse reached and chomped the Grunt's Dragonite with its jaws, causing a large explosion.

*BOOM*

...

Dust formed and cleared, revealing the Dragonite on the ground, completely unconscious with spirals in its eyes.

The Grunt looked on in a scared manner, as he saw his Dragonite lying on the ground. He turned around to run away, but suddenly saw Riley's Lucario standing right behind him, holding a Bone Rush bone and ready to attack.

"Rrr--" Lucario said, showing his teeth while growling a bit in anger.

The Grunts quickly got scared, and fell towards the ground, passing out.

Mega-Blastoise reverted from his Mega-Evolved form, standing still in front of Ash.

"Whoa---" Ash said in a bit of surprised manner, as he looked at his hands. He was breathing heavily. (In Ash's thoughts) "Just like Dad taught me--- Connect the Aura--- and you can Mega-Evolve your Pokemon without the stones---" He said to himself, forming two fists.

"Ash---! That was so great!" Bonnie said, with stars in her eyes as she looked at Blastoise.

Ash turned towards Bonnie. "Yeah--- I guess it was---" He said.

"So you finally learned how to use the powers of Aura to Mega-Evolve Pokemon--- impressive for someone that's still a teenager" Riley said, looking at Ash.

"Thanks---" Ash replied.

...

...

Moments later---

Everyone looked on, as a SWAT truck took the two Grunts and their Pokemon away. Officer Jenny had managed to get the fire on top of the building extinguished, and now stood alongside everyone with the Wartortle Squad.

"Thanks a lot, Blastoise--- you were Awesome!" Ash said, looking at his Blastoise.

Blastoise nodded back, forming a fist.

"War--tortle--?" One of the Wartortle said, looking up at Blastoise.

"Well, this is a trouble" Officer Jenny said.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Ash asked.

"How am I supposed to take Blastoise with me? He can't fit inside my patrol car" Officer Jenny said.

"Hmm-- that does seem like a problem" Ash said, thinking deep.

"Oh, cut the mushy stuff---" Bonnie said in an annoyed manner. "Officer Jenny! Ash would like to take his Blastoise with him on his journey!" She added, looking at Officer Jenny.

"Huh?" Officer Jenny said in a surprised manner. "Well, if that's what Blastoise wants--- I can't say no." She added.

"Really?" Ash said, looking at Blastoise's face. "I'm starting my journey to become the strongest ever, Blastoise--- do you wanna join my team? I still haven't figured out what I'm gonna do about my water-type slot." Ash asked.

Blastoise looked at his squad, and thought deeply.

"I mean, I totally understand if you wanna stay with your buddies--- I won't get mad at all." Ash said.

"Blastoise-Blas!" Blastoise said, taking his glasses off, and handing them over to the Wartortle Squad.

"Warrtortle---" The Wartortle Squad said, as they gathered around and looked at the glasses of their leader. "Wartortle!" The Wartortle holding the glasses exclaimed, handing them back to Blastoise.

Blastoise looked in a surprised manner, but then took his glasses back. He then wore them, and nodded his head while looking at his squad.

"War-tortle!" The Wartortle Squad said, as they formed a thumbs up sign. Blastoise nodded.

Blastoise turned towards Ash, and formed a thumbs up sign.

"Y-You mean it, buddy?" Ash asked in a surprised manner.

"Blastoise-Blast!" Blastoise said, forming a fist.

Ash's eyes opened wide. He then quickly walked forwards and gave Blastoise a hug. "Welcome to the team, buddy!" He said, as Blastoise returned the hug. "Let's start on our journey and get stronger together!" He added.

*Beep*

Officer Jenny's PokeGear beeped. She took it out and looked in it. "Well, I think it's time to say goodbye. There's a fire in sector D that needs immediate response." She said. "It was nice meeting you again. Later" She added, before running off into her Patrol car.

The Wartortle Squad looked at their evolved leader. They walked forwards, hugged and saluted him, before running away and getting into the patrol car.

"Bye, Wartortle Squad! Thanks for everything!" Ash said, waving goodbye as the Wartortle Squad waved goodbye.

"Blaaastoise!!!" Blastoise exclaimed, waving goodbye while smiling.

"Wartortle!" "War!" "War-Wartortle!" The Wartortle squad exclaimed, as they waved goodbye from the windows of Officer Jenny's patrol car.

Mars lowered her head, hiding her face. "*sniff* so touching" She said.

"Are you crying?" Riley asked Mars.

"No--- my eyes are just sweating--- that's all--" Mars replied.

"Come on, let's get out of here before more Grunts find us" Riley said to Ash, Bonnie, and Blastoise.

A few moments later---

Everyone were in Riley's car. Mars was driving, Riley was sitting in the passenger seat, while Ash and Bonnie were in the backseat. They were driving through the Viridian Forest.

Ash looked at Blastoise's Pokeball in his hand, thinking deep. He then smiled, and attached the Pokeball to the belt on his waist.

"So Ash---" Riley said, grabbing Ash's attention. "When do you plan on joining the International Police?" He asked.

"Huh? Me?" Ash said, pointing at his face.

"Yeah--- it's actually a trend of every Indigo League Champion to join the International Police. The amount of skill you have in Pokemon Battling as a Champion is exactly what's praised in the organization." Riley said.

"I'm not sure yet--- I guess I'll think about it" Ash said, thinking deep.

"Yeah, make sure you think about it---" Riley said. He then took out his PokeGear, and pressed its button. "Riley to Viridian HQ. Do you read me? Over" He said.

(On-PokeGear) "Loud and clear, R. Over" The operator said.

"I have diverged from initial plan to strike Team Rocket bases in Johto. I have been attacked numerous times and shot by a group of Grunts, so I'm taking a few days off to let myself heal and let the heat lower down. Over" Riley said.

(On-PokeGear) "Roger. Request has been submitted and is awaiting approval. Expect confirmation in a short while, R. Over." The operator said.

"Understood. Over." Riley said.

(On-PokeGear) "Mind if I ask when you'll be staying in order to let your wound heal? Over." The operator asked.

"Oh, I'm headed to Rot---" Riley was saying, but got suddenly cut off by Mars.

"We're headed to Pallet Town!" Mars quickly said.

(On-PokeGear) "Come Again? Pallet Town?" The operator asked.

Riley looked at Mars's face in a surprised manner. Mars gently nodded her head and looked at Riley's wound, giving him a hint about what she was thinking. Riley then focused back on the PokeGear.

"Uh--- That's a Roger. Headed to Pallet Town in order to take some rest. I'll keep an eye on Mars in the meantime as well. Will get in contact once I'm back to full strength. Over" Riley said.

(On-PokeGear) "Thank you, R. Have fun on your break. Over and Out." The operator said, before ending the transmission.

...

Riley looked at Mars. "What do you mean? Why did I have to lie?" He asked Mars.

"Remember how you were talking about a mole in the Organization? What if the Mole finds out we're headed to Rota?" Mars said.

Riley, Ash, and Bonnie's eyes opened wide.

"Whoa--" Riley said, in realization. "That's--- smart---" He added, thinking.

"Yes. Now call Detective Lawrence and tell him to stay on the lookout if any Grunts suddenly appear in Pallet Town. The only person you told about going to Pallet Town is your own organization." Mars said.

"Hmm--- Impressive" Riley said, looking at Mars. "Is there anything you can't do?" He asked, looking at his PokeGear.

"Uh--- I can't play the Piano, I guess. Mom was so disappointed in me because of that--- I ran away from home just because of those forced daily classes." Mars said, after thinking for a bit.

"Oh--- well, you're great with the rest of the skills you have." Riley said, while looking at his PokeGear. He was dialing a call to Lawrence.

"Oh--- Thank you, Riley---" Mars said, as she blushed and smiled a bit.

A few Hours later---

The sun was starting to set, as everyone approached Pewter City.

"Go over to the Pewter Gym--- I've already got in contact with Brock. He says it's completely fine if we stay the night over." Ash said.

"All right---" Mars said, nodding her head a bit.

An Hour later---

Ash and Brock were standing in the hallway of Brock's home. Pikachu was not on Ash's shoulder.

"Do you have any idea how weird it is to know that Mars is staying in my house? The same Mars that worked for Team Galactic---?" Brock said.

"Well, it looks like she's had a change of heart--- Detective Riley and those two seem really close" Ash said.

"Yeah" Brock added, looking at a medic kit he was holding. "I changed Riley's wound dressing--- and Mars has been sitting beside him this whole time, keeping watch." He added.

"Well, good for them, I guess" Ash said. "Is Bonnie gone to sleep?" He asked.

"Yeah. She's kind of like a sister to all of my siblings---" Brock said. "Pikachu's gone to sleep along them all" He added.

"Good to know---" Ash said. Then, something came to him. "Hey, Brock--- Can I ask you for something?" He asked.

"Yeah, sure--- go on ahead, Ash. This is your house." Brock replied.

"You have your Mega-Evolving Steelix with you, right?" Ash asked.

"Uh-- yeah---" Brock replied.

"Wanna battle it against one of my Pokemon?" Ash asked.

"Right now? Everyone's gonna wake up---" Brock said. "How about we have a battle tomorrow?" He asked.

"Great!" Ash said, forming a fist. "It's a deal!" He added.

"In the meantime--- mind if I ask you some questions?" Brock asked.

"Uh-- what kind---?" Ash asked.

"Come on, let's take a seat in the living room." Brock said, walking ahead.

...

...

A few moments later---

Ash was sitting on a couch, while Brock was right in front of him.

"PLEASE! Tell me how you did it!" Brock said, as he got down on the ground, doing an extreme version of the bow.

"What--- are you talking about?" Ash asked Brock.

Brock raised his head. "How did you manage to get so close to a girl--- You proposed to her--- and she said yes--- and now she carries your child--- I need answers so I can do something like that to the next girl I fall in love with!" He said, looking at Ash straight in the eye in a serious manner. He quickly took out a pen and a notebook, so he could write down what Ash said.

"Really---? I don't know---" Ash said, rubbing the back of his head.

"PLEASE! Tell me whatever you know!" Brock said in a desperate manner.

"Uh--- Serena and I--- we actually went through a lot together--- we started our journey through Kalos as acquaintances, but as time went by, we became really close friends." Ash said.

"Hmm--- start off with a hello --- get to know her and become a friend" Brock said, writing on his book. "Then what happened next?" He asked.

"Um--- Uh--- well--- it was actually Serena who made the first move---" Ash said, scratching his head in a nervous manner.

"Hmm--- okay--- girl made the first move---" Brock said, as he wrote in his book. "Then what?" He asked.

"Uh--- we actually spent many months apart right after Serena kissed me on the lips for the first time." Ash said, thinking deeply.

"Hmm--- months apart--- okay---" Brock said, noting down a pointer. "Then? What next?" He asked.

"Then, when Serena was in a life threatening situation I quickly traveled thousands of miles and saved her from Team Rocket in the nick of time--" Ash said.

"Okay--- heroic act--- save girl from bad guy cliché--- hmm---" Brock said, writing. "Next?" He asked.

"Then we just traveled together, and kept on getting closer as a couple, leading me to realize that Serena was the girl I wanted to be with--- So I proposed" Ash said.

"Hmm--- okay--- got it--- hmm---" Brock said, noting everything down. "And now we've reached current time---" He added, reviewing everything.

"I guess that's all--- I just never forced anything--- she just sort of told me whenever she felt like it was time to take our relationship a step ahead." Ash said.

"Hmm---" Brock said, reviewing everything he had written down. "Sounds like I need to get out there and try this stuff---" He added.

"Oh yea--- I almost forgot to tell you, Brock---" Ash said.

"Huh? Forgot? What?" Brock asked, as he walked towards a couch opposite to Ash and sat on it, looking at Ash.

"Actually--- There's this--- prediction---" Ash said, as he started to explain.

30 minutes later----

"And now I'm on a journey to become stronger, so I can protect Serena and defeat Lucifer once and for all when the time comes" Ash said, ending his whole explanation.

"Hmm--- So let me get this straight--- this Lucifer--- your evil twin--- actually killed Serena?" Brock asked, in a serious manner.

"Yeah." Ash replied, nodding his head a bit.

"But the Tears of Life brought her back with those powers she has now--- yes?" Brock said.

"Yes" Ash replied.

"Hmm--- that explains a lot---" Brock said, thinking deeply.

"So--- will you come along with me on my journey to help me get stronger? We'll start off with a visit to Rota up north, and then to another Region. Haven't decided actually." Ash said.

"Sure--- But I have one condition" Brock said.

"Huh? A condition?" Ash said, surprised.

"I want you to defeat me in a one-on-one Pokemon Battle." Brock said in a serious manner.

"What? Are you sure? I'm pretty confident I can beat you" Ash said.

"There will be one special rule in our battle as well, Ash---" Brock said.

"Huh? What's that?" Ash asked.

"You'll get to know that tomorrow--- on the Battlefield" Brock said, as he got up. "I look forwards to our battle, Champion. Good night" He added, before leaving.

"Huh?" Ash said, surprised. "Strange--- Even for Brock---" He added, looking on.

...

Meanwhile, over at Riley and Mars.

Mars silently looked at Riley's sleeping face, and then at his gunshot wound that was all wrapped up in bandages which Brock had replaced moments ago. She was sitting on a chair right next to the Bed Riley was sleeping on. The lights were on at this moment.

Riley's hat was placed on the side of the bed on a table. Riley was wearing a black tank top, with his body covered with a blanket.

"Guess those painkillers the Doctor gave put Riley in deep sleep" Mars said to herself, looking at Riley. She then lowered her head, thinking deep while looking at the brown carpet on the floor.

(In Mars's thoughts) "Team Rocket Grunts actually tried to kill me because I was helping the International Police---" Mars said to herself. "Never thought Daddy could go this far to actually want me killed---" She added, thinking deep as she looked back at Riley's shoulder.

...

...

The next day, morning time.

Riley woke up, and looked at Mars lying near his feet. She was asleep. "Huh? What is she doing?" He said, looking at Mars as he got up and sat. Mars was wearing a black top that Brock gave her to wear while her clothes got cleaned from the blood stains.

"OW!" Riley exclaimed, as he forgot about his wound and used his left arm to support himself, causing pain in the process.

"Huh?" Mars said, as she suddenly woke up from Riley's voice. "Riley--- what is it--? Are you okay?" She asked, with her eyes closed.

"Y-Yes--- I'm fine" Riley replied, looking at Mars.

"I-- can't open my eyes---" Mars said, as she rubbed her eyes.

"Oh, must be that--- come closer--- I'll take it out of your eye" Riley said.

Mars slowly crawled from Riley's feet and on top of his body, crawling and stopping with her face only a few inches away from Riley's face.

"Uh--- there you go---" Riley said, as he used his right hand to carefully wipe the gunk out of Mars's both eyes, allowing her to open her eyes and look straight at Riley. "Were you crying?" Riley asked.

"Y-Yea---" Mars replied, looking down at Riley's chest in embarrassment.

"Why?" Riley asked.

"B-Because--- you got hurt when trying to save me---" Mars said. "If I wasn't helping you, the Grunts probably would've never attacked like that---" She added, closing her eyes.

"Hey--- don't be sad--- I survived, okay? We both did. In a matter of days, we'll be back on their tail and we'll take them down!" Riley said, placing his hand under Mars's chin and raising her head up.

"Tell me--- why did you risk your life like that for me?" Mars asked.

"Uh---" Riley said, as he looked away.

"You like me, don't you?" Mars said, grabbing Riley's right hand in the firm grasp of her both hands.

Riley looked at Mars with a shocked expression on his face, as his cheeks lit up.

"I really like you, Riley--- I really do--- You're one of the few people I know that treat me like a human." Mars said, as she gripped Riley's black tank top in her hands.

Riley's eyes opened wide, as his cheeks lit up even more. "How can you say that you like me? You've only been with me for around two days." He said, as he kept looking into Mars' red eyes.

"The moment I saw you for the first time, I knew I felt something--- but I chose to neglect it thinking it was something else--" Mars said. "But then the way you arrested me--- and said that I had the right to remain silent--- I fell for you that very moment." She added.

"What the---?" Riley said, with blushing red cheeks. "How do you even like someone that way? I've been doing that for ages and whoever I throw in jail just wants my head." He said.

"I'm different--- And so are you" Mars said, looking into Riley's blue eyes. "When you said you couldn't take the risk--- but then changed your mind--- It showed that you're a great person--" She added.

"I was-- just trying to be nice---" Riley said, looking around nervously.

"I'm just trying to be nice to you too--- Stop me if you really want to--- I have the right to remain silent, but you can violate my rights all you want---" Mars said, as she put one hand around Riley's neck and leaned towards him, going in for a kiss. Riley didn't move an inch. Riley and Mars both closed their eyes, but before their lips touched, Suddenly---

*Door Opens*

"Hey, I got your clothes stitched and clean--- whoa---!" Brock said, as he entered the room and looked at Mars on top of Riley, with her lips barely an inch away from Riley.

"AH!" The pair said in a surprised manner, as they looked at Brock. They quickly separated from each other.

"Sorry!" Brock said, as he quickly placed Riley's vest and Mars's Black & White frock on a table next to the door. He quickly jetted out, closing the door behind him.

The two looked at the door which was now closed. They then looked back at each other, with embarrassed looks on their faces.

"You should--- get off now---" Riley said, looking away.

"Riley--- Is that what you really want?" Mars asked, with red cheeks.

"I-- um--- uh---" Riley said, as he looked straight into Mars's eyes. "Agh-- My--- shoulder hurts---" He said, moving his left shoulder.

"Oh--- my-- I forgot---!" Mars said, as he eyes opened wide. "You didn't have your morning medicine yet! I'm so sorry!" She added, getting off of Riley's body in an instant.

...

...

[Meanwhile, over at the Battlefield]

Ash stood at one edge of the Rocky Battlefield, while Brock stood at the other edge. They both looked into each other's eyes in complete seriousness. Pikachu stood beside Ash on the ground.

Forrest, Brock's younger brother acted as the referee. Bonnie, and the rest of Brock's numerous siblings were standing on the scaffolding present on the edge of the Battlefield.

"This will be a One-On-One Battle. Brock is going to choose his Steelix, while Ash is required to use a Pokemon that is weak against Rock, Ground, or Steel type Attacks but also has attacks that are super-effective against Steelix's Steel/Ground typing. The battle will be over when either Pokemon is unable to continue." Forrest said, stating the rules.

"Go! Steelix!" Brock said, throwing a Pokeball in the air.

*Pop*

"Steelll-ixxx!" Steelix exclaimed, as it came out of its Pokeball and stood in front of Brock.

"Hmm--- so a Pokemon that's weak against Steelix's attacks and has super-effective attacks, huh?" Ash said, thinking. He then took out a Pokeball, and threw it up in the air.

*Pop*

"Grr--!!!" Charizard exclaimed as he came out of his Pokeball, and stood in front of Ash.

"Hmm--- Charizard--- A classic, huh? Good move." Brock said, looking on.

"Thanks, Brock. Charizard and I are gonna show you how strong we are, and how much more stronger we're gonna get!" Ash exclaimed, forming a fist.

"Show me everything you've got!" Brock said, forming a fist as he started to get excited.

"I will, Brock. But I have my own condition for this Battle, Brock" Ash said.

"Huh? What's that?" Brock, and everyone else said at the same time.

"If I win this battle, not only are you coming with me, but you'll also promise to tell me something" Ash said.

"What's that?" Brock asked.

"Two words, Brock---- Professor Ivy." Ash said, forming a grin.

Suddenly---

Brock turned into a statue, and fell towards the ground while looking away at the wall behind him. His body was curled into a ball. "That name--- ugh--- the horror---" He said in a dark voice.

"What happened to Brock?" Bonnie asked Brock's siblings, while looking at Brock lying on the ground.

"Dunno" "No idea" "No clue" Brock's eight siblings that stood beside Bonnie said, shaking their heads.

"Who's Professor Ivy?" Bonnie asked in a loud voice.

"UGHH!!!" Brock yelled, while still lying down, curved into a ball. "Please don't say that name again---" He said.

"Uh-- okay---" Bonnie said. "Who's You-know-who? And why is Brock acting so weird when we ask about her?" She asked.

"This battle will give us the answer! Show me you're the Gym Leader Brock I know!" Ash exclaimed, forming a fist.

Brock got up from the ground, and then looked at Ash in a serious manner. "My pride is on the line now--- So, I will respond accordingly! Steelix! Mega-Evolve!" Brock exclaimed, as he put his hand inside his spiky hair, taking out his Keystone. The Keystone glowed brightly, reacting to the Steelixite fitted in the back of Steelix's head.

Steelix's body glowed brightly as it Mega-Evolved. The glow disappeared, revealing Mega-Steelix. A holographic shape of a helix also briefly appeared in front of Steelix as it completed its Mega-Evolution.

"Yes--- Mega-Evolution---" Ash said, as he grinned. "Let's see how strong they are first---" He added, getting ready to battle without using his powers.

"Battle Begin!" Forrest said, raising two arms up in the air.

"Steelix! Use Stone Edge!" Brock exclaimed.

"Charizard! Quick! Dodge it!" Ash said.

"Stee--Lixx!" Steelix exclaimed, as it slammed its tail on the ground. This caused multiple glowing blue rocks to form on the ground and rush straight towards Charizard.

Right before the Stone-Edge reached Charizard, he dodged it by flying straight up in the air.

"Now! Let em have a Flamethrower!" Ash exclaimed.

"Grr---!!!" Charizard exclaimed, as it spewed a stream of red-hot flames straight towards Steelix.

"Dodge it!" Brock exclaimed.

*BOOM*

Dust formed and cleared, revealing Steelix standing still. It had some marks of injury on its huge body.

"Now! Steelix! Autotomize!" Brock said.

"Steeelll---Iixxx!" Steelix exclaimed, as the prism-like protrusions on its body quickly spun on their own axis for a second at incredible speed, releasing a white energy. This lowered Steelix's weight, and increased its speed.

"Now! Use Stone Edge!" Brock said.

"Charizard! Dodge it and use Flamethrower again!" Ash exclaimed.

"Steeelll---IXxx!" Steelix exclaimed, as it slammed its tail on the ground, causing glowing blue stones to form and rush straight towards Charizard at a greater speed than before.

"Gr-?!" Charizard said in a surprised manner, as the Stone Edge rushed towards him and hit before he could dodge.

*BOOM*

A dust cloud formed, as the Stone Edge hit Charizard.

"Charizard!" Ash exclaimed, looking on as Charizard flew up and out of the dust cloud. It landed right in front of Ash, with numerous marks of injury on its body.

"Argh---" Ash said, grinding his teeth. "pi--ka---" Pikachu said in a worried manner, looking at Charizard's body.

(In Ash's thoughts) "We need to get stronger--- losing the part-flying type would reduce damage from that stone-edge--- So I guess it's time---" Ash said, looking on.

"What's the matter, Ash? You're not backing off, are you?" Brock said.

"Nope! Charizard! Let's do this!!!" Ash exclaimed, placing his fist on his chest. "Power it up!" He yelled, as suddenly a vortex of red-blue flames burst out from under Charizard's feet and covered his body as it transformed into its spiked-up bonded form.

The Vortex of flames split around Charizard's body, and went into his tail-flame and elbow-flame, revealing the Ash-Charizard form.

"Yay! Go Ash-Charizard!" Bonnie exclaimed, looking on. "Nenene!" "Wolololooo!" Dedenne and Squishy said, cheering on while standing on top of the rails.

"Go, Brother! You can do it!" Brock's siblings exclaimed, cheering for Brock.

"So the Fire/Dragon type form, huh?" Brock said, as he grinned. "Steelix! Use Dig!" He added, ordering his Pokemon.

"Steeelll--iiixxx!" Steelix exclaimed, as its body spun on its own axis, and burrowed its way underground.

"Not gonna work!" Ash said. "Charizard! Use Earthquake!" He added, forming a fist.

"Grr--!!!" Charizard exclaimed, stomping his feet hard on the ground. A white underground energy formed that went straight ahead of Charizard, and hit Steelix who was still underground.

*BOOM*

Steelix got launched out of the ground, and landed right in front of Brock.

"Ah!" Brock said in a surprised manner. "Steelix! Can you still battle?" He asked his Pokemon.

Steelix got back up from the ground, ready to continue.

"So it held on, huh?" Ash said, looking on.

"Yep! Steelix has great amount of defense! You can't easily take it out that way!" Brock exclaimed. "That was a great counter-attack against Dig, Ash" He added.

"Thanks, Brock!" Ash replied, smiling as he formed a fist.

"All right, Steelix! Let's end this!" Brock exclaimed.

"All right then, Charizard! Now!" Ash said, as his expression got serious. "Blast---BUUUURN!" Ash yelled, as him and Charizard moved at the same time.

"Grr---!!!" Charizard exclaimed, as he covered his body with red-blue flames. He then punched the ground, causing an orange-colored energy to travel underground aimed straight towards Mega-Steelix.

"AH! Steelix! Dodge it!" Brock exclaimed, as the orange energy came right below Steelix and caused an explosion, with red-orange flames coming out of the ground, bursting upwards.

*BOOM*

Dust formed around the whole battlefield, as the Blast Burn hit its mark. Everyone looked on, as the dust cleared. Steelix got revealed lying on the ground with spirals in its eyes, as it reverted from its Mega-Evolved form.

"Steelix is unable to battle! Charizard wins! Which means that the match goes to Ash!" Forrest said, raising an arm towards Ash.

"Yipee! Way to go, Charizard!" Bonnie said as she grabbed her Dedenne and Squishy, and ran towards the stairs of the scaffolding. She got down on the Battlefield, and then rushed towards Charizard to take a closer look.

"Steelix! Return!" Brock said, aiming a Pokeball at Steelix and calling it back in its Pokeball. His other eight Siblings came running up to him, with worried expressions.

"Don't worry, you all---" Brock said to his siblings who came up to him and hugged him. "I had lots of fun! That's what matters in a Pokemon Battle!" He added, looking at his siblings. He then stood straight and walked towards Ash & Charizard.

Ash was patting Charizard's head. "That was awesome, Charizard--- Good work---" He said, looking on as Charizard reverted from his Ash-Charizard form.

"Grh!" Charizard said, nodding his head as he formed a thumbs up sign.

"That was great, Charizard!" Bonnie said, looking up at Charizard's face.

Brock walked over, and stood in front of Ash. Ash looked at Brock.

"So, I guess you're coming with us now, huh?" Ash said to Brock.

"Yeah, but It was just a joke actually---" Brock said.

"A Joke?" Ash asked. "I don't get it" He added.

"I wanted a real passionate battle from you, Ash. And I knew if there was something on the line, I'd be able to battle the real Ash. The one that's the champion." Brock said.

"Oh, well thanks for the battle, Brock! Your Steelix was an awesome opponent!" Ash said, forming a fist. "Pika-Pika!" Pikachu said.

"Thanks. I appreciate the words" Brock said.

"So Brock---" Bonnie said, looking up at Brock's face. "You mind telling us about you-know-who?" She asked.

"You don't have to though. It was just a Joke from me too" Ash said in a silly manner, rubbing the back of his head.

"Tell me about Professor Ivy already!" Bonnie said in a grumpy manner.

Suddenly, Brock dropped to the ground and curled up in a ball. "Don't say that name again--- please---" He said, looking away.

*Ash and Bonnie laugh*

[An hour later]

"Goodbye! Take care, all of you! Dad will be home by evening, all right?" Brock said, looking at his siblings wave goodbye to him as he got inside Riley's car.

"Bye, Brock!" "Bye Bonnie and Ash!" "Bye Riley and Mars!" Brock's siblings said while waving their hands, as the car sped off.

Inside the car, Mars was driving while Riley sat on the passenger seat. Ash, Brock, and Bonnie sat in the backseat.

"Next stop--- Rota" Mars said, looking at Riley.

"It's been like forever since I got to that place--- wonder how Ilene has been all these years" Riley said.

"Who's Ilene?!" Mars asked with wide open eyes.

"You mean Lady Ilene, right? The descendant of Lady Rin? The Queen?" Ash asked.

"Yes, Ash" Riley replied. "I haven't seen her in ages. Wonder how she'll react by this surprise visit." He added.

"Wow! We get to meet the Queen! Isn't that great, Dedenne and Squishy?" Bonnie said while looking at her yellow bag. "Nenene!" "Wolololooo!" Dedenne and Squishy said, with their heads peeking out of the yellow bag.

"It's been a while since we had a visit to Cameran Palace. Wonder how much has changed around it" Brock said, thinking deep.

"HOLD ON A MINUTE!" Mars yelled. "Who on earth is Lady Ilene?!" She asked Riley.

"Someone very dear to me---" Riley replied.

"What--- oh---" Mars said, as her tone got downed. "S-Sorry---" She added.

"What do you mean by Sorry? You're making zero sense" Riley said to Mars.

"I mean--- no wonder you're not trying to get down with me---" Mars said. "I didn't know you were already taken---" She added.

"Oh--- hahaha! It's not like that, Mars!" Riley said, as he chuckled a bit. "Ilene and I--- we're close, but we're not like that---" He added.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Mars asked, looking at Riley's face.

"I can't believe how quickly you jumped to a conclusion---" Riley said, shaking his head. "Ilene and I--- we're close, because we're siblings" He added.

"Uh-- oh---" Mars said, as she understood everything.

*Sniff sniff* Bonnie acted as if she was sniffing something. "Do any of you smell it?" She asked.

"Huh? I don't smell anything" Ash said, sniffing deeply. Brock did the same, and couldn't smell anything weird.

"I smell Jealousy" Riley said, forming a grin while looking at Mars.

"Exactly!" Bonnie said.

"Wh-What?" Mars said, as her cheeks lit up.

"Hmm--- You're cute when you're jealous. Who would've known?" Riley said, looking at Mars.

"I'm--- I'm--- I'm not jealous of anybody!" Mars said, as her face went red.

"Hah--- yea right--- keep telling that to yourself." Riley said, chuckling.

Bonnie took out her PokeGear, and checked a notification in it from last day. "Huh? What's this?" Bonnie said, checking the notification.

"What is it?" Ash said, as him and Brock peeked at Bonnie's PokeGear.

"It's a notification that says Mega Evolution Energy was detected--- there was a Keystone and Megastone nearby us when we were battling the Team Rocket Grunts!" Bonnie said.

"Huh? You can check that?" Ash asked in a surprised manner.

"Yeah! I was telling big brother about how my keystone is useless without a Mega-Evolving Pokemon, so he installed a sensor and an app on my PokeGear which tells me if there's any Mega Stones or Keystones nearby!" Bonnie said.

"Whoa--- Awesome---!" Ash said. "Science is so amazing!" He added, with stars in his eyes. Pikachu had the same reaction.

"It shows that the keystone was a Blastoisinite." Bonnie said. "Ugh--- I really wish I hadn't put my PokeGear on silent mode--" She added in a downed manner.

"Well, don't worry Bonnie!" Riley said. "You'll have a great chance at finding MegaStones in the area surrounding the tree of beginning." He added.

"Really? All right!" Bonnie exclaimed, forming a fist. "I'll catch lots of new Pokemon, and I'll also find a Megastone!" She added in determination. "Nenene!" "Wolololo!" Dedenne and Squishy said in a joyful manner, with their heads peeking out from Bonnie's yellow bag.

Meanwhile, over at Lumiose City, the Kalos Region. Early Morning.

In a dark alleyway in the city, four people stood straight in pairs of two. One pair wore a black Team Rocket outfit, while the other wore a red Team Flare outfit.

Both the Team Flare Grunts were male, while the Team Rocket Grunts were a pair of one male and one Female.

"This is everything you'll need for the assignment." The Female Grunt said, as she handed the Team Flare Grunt a USB flashdrive.

"You do remember our deal, correct?" The Team Flare Grunt asked.

The Team Rocket Grunts nodded their heads. "Complete the assignment, and our boss will break out everyone belonging to Team Flare from prison personally" They said.

As the deal took place in the Alleyway, high up in the air of the morning sky, a Hot-air balloon shaped like a Meowth floated.

Jessie, James, and Meowth looked around in the city, using tactical night-vision binoculars.

"Hey, Jess" James said, looking around the numerous alleys under them through his binoculars.

"Yeah, James?" Jessie asked, while continuing to look around.

"You really think we're fit as the good guys? The stuff with your mother has ended, you know?" James said.

"Yeah" Meowth said. "I lost eight of my nine lives searchin' through that blizzard" He added.

"Mommy is still in a coma--- We can't move an inch at least until she's recovered" Jessie said in a serious manner.

"That's all good, Jess--- but why do we have to still work for the International Police? It's a bore" James said, stopping looking through his binoculars and closing his eyes.

"Second dat" Meowth said.

"Well, what do you guys want to do? Mommy's medicare isn't cheap or anything--- It's the least we can do to stay afloat." Jessie said.

"That is true---" James said. "Although, these International Police guys pay quite well-- but I miss going after the twerp and his Pikachu. Think we should join some other evil organization?" He added, thinking.

"Eva' since Team Rocket disbanded, we've got nowhere else ta' go. Everyone knows about how we've been colludin' with the Government." Meowth said.

"Wait! I found something!" Jessie said, as she spotted the meeting of Team Rocket and Flare Grunts.

"Where?!" Meowth and James said, as they quickly shifted their binoculars at the meeting.

"Hey! Its da glasses gang!" Meowth said, looking at the Team Flare Grunts.

"Yes, it looks like they're having a party with the remnants of Team Rocket" James said.

"Let's go crash their party--- Team Rocket style!" Jessie said, as she pulled a lever to make the balloon stop right above the meeting. She then grabbed a rope that was attached to the basket and threw it down.

"Let's go!" James said, as him, Jessie, and Meowth hopped off the balloon, sliding down with the rope. They landed right in the middle of the two pairs of Grunts, falling on top of each other.

*BAM*

"AGH!" Jessie said, as she moved. She was right under James and Meowth. "MOVE already! What a pain!" She yelled.

"Oh right! Sorry, Jess" James said, as him and Meowth got off of Jessie.

"Huh?" The two pairs of Grunts said, looking at the Trio.

"Who the heck are you three supposed to be?" The Team Rocket Grunts said.

"AHA!" The Trio exclaimed as they quickly got up on their feet.

"Prepare for trouble! There's nothing you can do!" Jessie said.

"And make it double! Yaba-daba-doo!" James said.

"To protect the world from devastation---"

"To unite all people within our nation---"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love---"

"To extend our reach to the stars above---"

"Jessie"

"And James"

"Team Rocket searches crooks at the speed of light!"

"Surrender now or prepare to fight fight fight fight---"

"Meowth! Dat's right!" Meowth said.

*Pop*

"Woooobuffet!" Wobuffet exclaimed, coming out of his Pokeball while saluting.

"Hey! I know you three!" The Male TR Grunt said, pointing at the Trio. "You're all working for the International Police!" He added.

"Dat's right!" Meowth said, forming a fist.

"Now, you're all coming with us pronto!" Jessie said.

"You're going down!" The Male TR Grunt said, taking out a Pokeball. The rest of the Grunts present also took out one Pokeball each.

The Team Rocket Grunts threw the Pokeballs up in the air, calling out their Pokemon: Grimer and Zubat.

The Team Flare Grunts threw their Pokeballs up in the air, calling out their Pokemon: Croagunk and Espurr.

"Not so fast!" James said, taking out a Pokeball. "Inkay! Use Psybeam!" He added, throwing the Pokeball.

"And Gourgeist! Use Shadow Ball!" Jessie said, taking out a Pokeball and throwing it in the air as well.

*Pop* *Pop*

"Inn--kay!" Inkay exclaimed as it turned upside down, and shot a blue colored beam of energy aimed straight at the Team Rocket Grunts' Pokemon.

"Goooor--geist!" Gourgeist exclaimed as it formed a dark blob in front of its mouth, and used its hair-like extensions to grab the Shadow Ball and throw it straight towards the Team Flare Grunts' Pokemon.

*Boom*

An explosion occurred, and both pairs of Grunts blasted off high in the air. "Our Boss won't forgive you for this!" The Grunts said, flying high up in the air.

*Twinkle*

"Uh--- you think we took it too far again, James?" Jessie asked, looking up high in the sky.

"Yes--- Looker told us to grab them-- not blast them. Those special Pokemon diets and exercises from the Headquarter facilities sure have made our Pokemon strong." James said, looking high up in the sky.

"I wonder if this is what the twerps feel like when they blast us off in the air." Jessie said.

"Hey! Wait a minute---" Meowth said, as he noticed something lying on the ground where the Team Flare Grunts were standing. He walked up to it and picked it up.

"What is it, Meowth?" Jessie asked. James looked on.

"It's--- a--- flashdrive---" Meowth said, showing it to Jessie and James.

"Hmm-- Let's report back to Looker--- maybe there's some clue in it about what's going on in Lumiose City. This is the first time I've seen the glasses gang after the twerps took them out all those months ago." James said, taking the flashdrive from Meowth and putting it in his pocket.

The Trio called back their Pokemon and went back up on their Balloon, before jetting off to Looker's office located over at the other side in Lumiose City.

Moments later, at Looker's old office: The Looker Bureau.

Detective Looker was sitting on a chair, reading through some files that his ex-assistant Emma had put together. They had pictures of cloaked figures in the alleyways of the city, having meetings where they traded suitcases.

Emma's Espurr nicknamed 'Mimi' was peacefully sleeping on a chair in the distance.

Looker's ex-Assistant Emma is 21 (The same Emma/Essentia from Pokemon X/Y games). For those that do not know who Emma is, here's a somewhat brief introduction to her in this Pokemon: Generations episode. The timeline of events right now is post-video, meaning what you see in the below video happened long ago, when Emma was younger.

Emma walked up to Looker, holding a plate that had a mug filled with coffee. She placed the mug on the table in front of Looker.

"This looks good---" Looker said, looking at the pictures.

"You think so, Mr. Looker?" Emma asked, looking at the files.

"Yes---" Looker replied, flipping pages and pages of evidence. "It seems like it was a good decision to get you this whole building to run your operations in Lumiose City." He added, looking at the pictures of various Team Flare Grunts that were cloaked, not allowing their identity to be seen.

"Thank you, Mr. Looker" Emma said. "Do you have any clue about what these people are doing? I haven't been able to connect the dots at all yet" She added.

"Hmm--- I need time to think as well--- This is a far more complicated matter than I previously thought. You were right about it being organized crime instead of just common street thugs." Looker said, placing his hand under his chin. "I guess I'll figure it out after my morning coffee kicks in" He added, grabbing the mug of coffee Emma had brought. He proceeded and took a sip.

Emma looked around the Office. "Sir--- where are those two Agents and that talking Meowth? I haven't seen them all night" She said to Looker.

"I sent them on patrol to find any of these dealings that you've been capturing." Looker said. "Although they're not the best detectives around, they still somehow manage to get somewhat of a job done." He added.

"I see---" Emma said, looking at the main door in the distance.

*Thunderstorm*

Looker and Emma turned around and looked at the huge window behind them, with their eyes up at the sky.

*Heavy rain*

Looker got up from his chair and walked up to the window, looking outside. Emma stood beside him.

"That's some guerrilla downpour" Emma said, looking at the heavy rain. "I hope those three will be okay---" She added.

"They've--- experienced far worse. Don't worry, they'll be fine" Looker said, smiling as he took another sip of coffee.

Meanwhile, over at the Ex-Team Rocket Trio, Balloon---

"Quick, Meowth! We have to hurry!" Jessie said.

"I'm tryin' to stay on-course! Don't bother me!" Meowth said, controlling the handle.

"I'm doing my best to keep the flashdrive dry--- don't worry!" James said, covering his pocket from the rain.

"Look! There's the Bureau building! Quick! Land on the top!" Jessie said.

"Aye Aye, Cap'n!" Meowth said, as he steered the Balloon.

*Pop*

"Wooobuffet!" Wobuffet exclaimed, coming out of his Pokeball while saluting.

"Ugh-- stay in your Pokeball!" Jessie said, aiming Wobuffet's Pokeball at it and calling it back inside it.

Meanwhile, back at the Looker Bureau---

...

*Deep inhale*

"I just love the scent of rain" Emma said while smiling, taking deep breaths. She and Looker were still standing still, looking outside the window and listening to the peaceful rain sound.

*Muffled voices of feet thumping upstairs*

Looker and Emma turned and looked at the staircase door to their right. The noises of thumping got louder, and suddenly the door burst open.

Jessie, James, and Meowth jumped out of the door, falling down to the ground on top of each other. They were all soaking wet.

"You three--- did you find anything?" Looker asked the Trio.

"Sir!" The Trio said, as they quickly got up their feet, standing in a straight line. They were saluting. "We found two pairs of Grunts in the alleyways near Lysandre Cafe." James said.

"Lysandre Cafe? Could you not catch them?" Looker asked.

"No, Sir." Jessie said.

"One of da' pair belonged ta' Team Rocket, and one was from da Glasses Gang--- Team Flare." Meowth said.

"Team Rocket and Team Flare working together?" Looker said in a surprised manner.

"Yes sir." James said. "Although we couldn't catch them, we were able to recover this from their possession" James said, walking forwards and handing the flashdrive to Looker.

"Hmm--- Okay. Good job, you three." Looker said, looking at the flashdrive. He then quickly got on his seat in front of the table, and pulled out a laptop from his drawer.

Looker inserted the flashdrive into the laptop, opening up a bunch of files.

"Huh? Look at dat" Meowth said, as him, Jessie, James, and Emma leaned towards the laptop screen, taking a closer look.

"This is serious---" Looker said, looking on as he opened up a bunch of pictures. The pictures had maps of different parts of Kalos' cities, routes, towns, etc. with red dots at specific spots.

"Weapons---" Emma said, as her eyes opened wide while reading through the paragraphs at the lower edges of the pictures.

"Dem Glasses Gang sure are takin' da gloves off." Meowth said. "Yea--" Jessie and James said.

"We need to investigate--- make sure these weapons are secured" Looker said, getting up on his feet.

"I'll go get changed" Emma said, as she walked away.

"What do you mean? What are you changing into, Emma?" Looker asked.

"Essentia" Emma replied, opening a door and entering it.

Looker looked on in a surprised manner, standing still as he remembered the fact that when Emma wore her Expansion Suit, her codename was Essentia.

....

Meanwhile, at the outskirts of Lumiose City.

The two Team Flare Grunts stood still, dusting their clothes. One Grunt pulled out a Holo caster, and dialed a call to someone. A holographic image of a speaker got visible on the Holograph of the Holo caster.

(On-Holo Caster) "Speak" A Man's calm voice came.

"We've been unable to grab the exact pinpoint details" The Grunt said. "Some idiots crashed the meeting" He added.

(On-Holo Caster) "Were you able to clear the negotiations with the rockets?" The Unknown Man asked.

"Yes." The Grunt said. "They say all of Team Flare will be out of Prison once we manage to get the job done" He added.

(On-Holo Caster) "Good. Fall back, and execute the mission using your Pokemon. Steal any if you want from the city. I hear Professor Sycamore has some real gems in his laboratory. Go pay him a visit." The Man said.

"Roger that, Sir." The Grunt said, ending the call. He then put the Holo Caster away in his pocket.

The two Grunts looked at each other's faces, and nodded their heads before walking straight back towards Lumiose City, headed towards the Professor's lab.

*Freeze Frame*

Narrator: "As Ash starts his journey to get stronger, two fallen Organizations: Team Rocket, and Team Flare continue in their efforts to rise once again. What is being planned by these two villainous organizations residing in Kanto, Johto, and Kalos? What is this mysterious 'Assignment' Team Flare has been given? The answer is yet to come! As the Journey continues!"
