[Indigo League Journey Day 4, Vermilion City, The Pokemon Center. 11AM]

Writer's POV

Narrator: "After Ash defeated Calem; the unconventional trainer from Kalos, Bonnie manages to capture his two Pokemon that he had mistreated very badly. Also, Charizard received an Egg from Charla via Liza that he quickly passed on to Ash and Serena to take care of. Now, our Heroes are at the Pokemon Center, to check on the Celebi's current condition."

"Hey there Professor! How's Celebi doing?" Ash said as he entered the special treatment room from the back of the Pokemon Center. "Hey Ash, Celebi is doing quite well! Celebi might gain consciousness any minute now." Professor Sycamore replied to Ash with a relieved tone.

"Well, that's great to know." Serena said as she looked at Celebi who was still on the medical examination table. Nurse Joy, Kurt, and Sophie were all working on different machines apart from the Professor himself. 

"What's that Egg you got there, Serena?" Professor Sycamore asked Serena as he just noticed she was carrying an incubator. "Oh, this Egg belongs to Ash's Charizard. We're taking care of it currently." Serena replied to the Professor in a casual tone.

"Professor, could you take a look at these two?" Bonnie said to the Professor as she released the newest additions to her team, Plusle and Minun. "Come on out, you two!" Bonnie said as she opened both of the Pokeballs. "Plus--" "Min--" The two Pokemon exclaimed weakly as they got out, and they didn't look as energetic as they were supposed to be. 

"Marvelous! You managed to catch two Pokemon! It surely is---" Professor Sycamore was saying but quickly stopped as he took a closer look at Plusle and Minun. "They look like they've been abused! Were they abandoned?" The Professor said as he picked up the two Pokemon like they were infants.

"Actually, yeah. Their previous trainer didn't feed them and abused them because they were weak. " Bonnie said to the Professor, as she looked at the two cute little Pokemon.

"Hey, Kurt. You mind telling us anything else about the GS Ball?" Ash said to Kurt, who was cleaning dust off of the Mysterious ball now. "Apart from everything I've told you, I do have hypothesized that the GS Ball can only be used by someone who is worthy" Kurt replied to Ash, as he looked at the 'GS' markings on it. "A Heart as valuable as Gold, and a soul as pure as Silver. HeartGold, and SoulSilver. Two traits of one trainer that can power the GS Ball." Kurt added as he pressed the button on it, and getting no response from the Ball at all.

"Oh. Could I take a closer look at the ball?" Ash said to Kurt. "Sure, here you go" Kurt said as he handed the GS Ball to Ash. "This thing sure is a mystery on it's own" Ash said as he looked at the 'GS' markings on the Ball.

Suddenly, Celebi got conscious. At first, it looked around, and suddenly spotted Ash, and the GS Ball in his hands."Bi!, Bi!" Celebi exclaimed as she got up and hit the glass covering on the treatment table, breaking it easily. "Celebi! We're your friends!" Ash exclaimed as tried to calm down a scared Celebi. Without anyone noticing, the GS Ball started giving off a gold and silver glow. 

"Bi!" Celebi exclaimed as it charged straight towards Ash, as if it was going for a tackle attack. "AH! Celebi! stop!" Ash exclaimed as he shielded his face with his arms, preparing to take a hit with the glowing GS Ball still in his hands. 

"Pi-Ka!" (Ash!) Pikachu said to his trainer, getting his attention as he positioned himself, ready for battling the Legendary Pokemon. "NO, Pikachu! Don't attack!" Ash exclaimed as he stopped Pikachu, who was about to use a thunderbolt on Celebi.

Celebi almost hit Ash, but then suddenly stopped and floated still, right in front of his face. "Bi! Bi-Biii-!" (Ash! I found you!) It exclaimed, in a happy manner while pointing at Ash. "What?" Ash said as he thought he was about to get plummeted by a tackle attack. 

"The GS Ball is glowing!" Bonnie said as she noticed the Ball. The glow on the ball started to get brighter and more visible by the second. Kurt looked at the Ball in surprise, along with everyone else in the room. "I knew it! The Ball definitely has a connection to Celebi!" Kurt said as he witnessed the GS Ball glowing due to being in close proximity of Celebi. 

"Marvelous!" Professor Sycamore said. "Amazing!"  Sophie added, as everyone looked at the glowing GS Ball.

Ash's POV

(In Head) "Catch it. It's a gift, Son" Dad's voice said to me as he got in sync with me again. I remembered this feeling which I get only when in-sync with Dad. "What?" I said, in a confused tone as I looked at the glowing GS Ball in my hand, and then to the floating Celebi in front of me. 

(In Head) "I sent my loyal Celebi your way so you could use it in your battles. After feeling the fire inside you early when you defeated that boy, I you have solidified my belief that you are worthy of commanding a Legendary Pokemon without it's overwhelming powers messing with your head. Although I had sent it to find you and become your friend anyways, I feel much better knowing you can handle it now" Dad said, in his humble voice as he communicated from Arceus knows where. I wish he was less mystic about his location and all.

(In Head) "It's mine, but I want you to have it. Try using the GS Ball. Happy early Birthday, Son! *chuckle*" Dad said as he chuckled, and his voice started to slowly fade. Soon, I couldn't feel him anymore. 

(In thoughts) "How did I forget it's the month of May! My Birthday is just around the corner!" I said in my thoughts as I looked at the Celebi, who was hovering right in front of me as it flapped it's small wings with a little smile. It sure looked like it was a well-trained Pokemon. well, it was trained by Dad, who had also previously raised and trained my buddy Pikachu.

With a bit of doubt in my mind, I raised my hand and pointed the glowing GS Ball towards Celebi, who quickly bumped it's head on it, and willingly went inside. Just like it was trained to do so. 

"You've got to be Joking!" Kurt said in a bit of an annoyed manner. "What do you mean?" I replied in confusion, as I looked at the GS Ball, which had stopped wobbling around and made the *Ding* noise, implying I captured Celebi. "All these years I carried this Ball and couldn't do anything with it and now you manage to catch a Legendary with it like a little pet!" Kurt said as he ripped his hair out in frustration. 

"You just caught a Celebi! Your first Legendary Pokemon!" Serena said to Me as she came closer, looking at the GS Ball in my hand. "Yeah! You're right! I just caught a Celebi!" I said, as I couldn't believe that I held the powers of a Legendary Pokemon in my hands. "Yeah! Pikachu! We did it! We caught a Legendary!" I said to my yellow little buddy in excitement. "Pi-Pi-ka!" (Yeah!) Pikachu exclaimed as he stuck out two fingers and made a 'victory' sign with his little palms.

Although it was technically a gift given by none other than my Dad, but since he clarified himself that I had proven myself worthy of a Time-travelling Pokemon, It felt like I had actually captured it.  

"I wanted to catch Celebi! >.< No fair!" Bonnie said to me in jealousy as she saw the GS Ball in my hand. "How does it even work?" Kurt said as he grabbed the GS Ball from my hand, and pressed it's button to release Celebi, but the Ball didn't respond at all.

"Let me try" I said to Kurt as I took back the GS Ball and pressed it's button, which made it open and release Celebi like any normal PokeBall would do. "Bi---!" Celebi exclaimed as it got out of it's Pokeball.

"I guess it's yours then. Since you managed to catch a Pokemon with it too and can alone use it." Kurt said to me in a bit of a depressed tone. 

(In Thoughts) "How come I can use the GS Ball now but when I had it before all those years ago? And Dad knew about the GS Ball as well. I wonder if they're connected. The Celebi belongs to Dad, so it is possible that the GS Ball was originally in Dad's possession." I said to myself in my thoughts as I connected the dots between the stuff that just happened. 

(In thoughts) "If I can only use the GS Ball along with Dad, does it mean that the fact that I can use the Bond Phenomenon is triggering the GS Ball. That does sound possible and explain a lot." I said to myself again as I thought even more deeply about the whole situation. 

"Wait, Ash. Don't you already carry 6 Pokemon? How come this one didn't just transport itself to Professor Oak's Lab?" Brock said to me as he started to think about this whole situation.   

"What Pokemon do you have on hand, Ash?" Professor Sycamore asked me about the Pokemon I carried at the time. "Well, I have Pikachu, Charizard, Greninja, Meganium, Butterfree, Hawlucha and now, Celebi. That does make 7 Pokemon. Weird." I replied to the Professor as I counted the Pokemon I was carrying in my fingers.

"The GS Ball might have some connection to this, I guess. Since it can't be sent over to the Professor via the normal way, It's not going this way either." Brock said as he pointed out how the GS Ball isn't able to be transmitted electronically.

"So, Ash can carry 7 Pokemon at a time? Isn't that a violation of the Pokemon League rules?" Sophie said, as she pointed out that it is a rule that trainers are allowed to carry a maximum of only 6 Pokemon at a time. "If the PokeBall isn't transferred by itself, It doesn't make it a violation" Kurt said to Sophie, as he cleared things up. His opinion was reliable, since he was one of the few people who had written the Pokemon League rules in the first place. 

"7 Pokemon at a time. Awesome!" I said as I looked at my newly acquired Celebi. "Bii--!" (Yayy!) Celebi exclaimed as it raised it's hand in the air, celebrating along with me.

"Hey, Ash!" Bonnie said to me, making me quickly look at her. She was making a really weird face at the moment. "Celebi is a Legendary Pokemon, Right...?" She said, and then suddenly took out a Pokeball and released her Squishy. The look on her face was talking clear to me, and I had a clear answer in my head as well.

"You're on, Bonnie!" I said to Bonnie, accepting her challenge to battle my newly-acquired Celebi. "Let's go, Celebi!" I said to Celebi, as we all moved out, and onto a clear open field which was now our battlefield. I stood on one side, and Bonnie stood in the opposite one.

"Plusle! Minun! Dedenne! I want you guys to cheer me on!" Bonnie said as she released her three electric-type Pokemon on the side of the battlefield with Serena and Brock.

"Okay, Celebi! I choose you! Let's see what you can do!" I said to Celebi as I pointed my hand forward. Celebi flew and stood in front, ready for a battle. "Squishy! I Choose you!" Bonnie said, as her Squishy jumped right in front of her. "Okay, Squishy! 25% form!" Bonnie said as she commanded the Legendary Pokemon to change into it's Pyroar-like form. 

Squishy made his weird sounding call, as numerous Zygarde Cells appeared around the whole area and shot at him as he absorbed them, and transformed himself into his 25% form.

"Let's see what you can do, Celebi" I said as I opened up Celebi's Pokedex entry in my PokeGear to see what moves it could use.

"Okay, Celebi! use Leaf Storm! Let's GO!" I said as I commanded my newest comrade for the first attack. Celebi raised its head and exclaimed "Biiii---", as multiple leaves gather around it and start to glow green. Then Celebi pointed its head at Squishy, and the leaves fired at it like a cyclone, at great speed.

"Squishy! use extreme speed to dodge it!" Bonnie exclaimed, as Squishy quickly ran using the four legs of it's 25% form, dodging the attack completely untouched.

"Okay, Squishy! use Dragon Pulse!" Bonnie exclaimed, commanding an attack. Squishy roared, shooting a huge Dragon-shaped pulse from it's open mouth and straight towards Celebi.

"Celebi! use Safeguard!" I said as I ordered a counter to Squishy's Dragon pulse. Celebi quickly closed it's eyes, and suddenly got surrounded in a pink and green colored energy shield, which took the Dragon Pulse head-on. The shield effectively repelled Dragon Pulse.

"Plus!" "Min!" The two electric-types exclaimed as they cheered their new trainer, with small electric pom-poms in their hands. They kind of seemed like Bonnie's personal cheerleaders.

"Okay, Celebi! Use Dazzling Gleam!" I exclaimed as I ordered a Fairy-type move. It should be effective against the Dragon-type Squishy. Celebi called out as a rainbow-colored shine surrounded it's body. 

"BiiiiIIII--!!!" Celebi exclaimed as the shine got brighter and brighter, to the point where it could be comparable to the blazing bright Sun itself. Everyone there, including Bonnie and Squishy closed their eyes and looked away as they couldn't handle the intensity of the light due to the move. Suddenly, extremely high speed rainbow-colored rays started to shoot out of Celebi, and straight towards Squishy, who was standing there with it's eyes closed.

*Boom*

Dust kicked off from the powerful move. Everyone looked in shock as they waited for the smoke to clear. The smoke cleared soon, and a perfectly okay Celebi was in sight, but the same couldn't be said for Squishy, who was looking quite worn out from that single attack. 

"Yeah! Now we're talking! An equally balanced fight!" Brock said, as he looked at how the two Legendary Pokemon were equally matched opponents. Apart from the fact that Bonnie had a lot to learn about ordering a counter-attack even when she couldn't see much.

Suddenly, some voices started to come from the inside of the Pokemon Center that was quite near us. Many trainers that saw the huge light come from Celebi's Dazzling Gleam looked towards us in curiosity, and spotted the two very powerful Pokemon battling each other.

"Hey! It's Ash Ketchum! Look! and he's got a Celebi!" A kid said as he came running towards our battlefield with a camera pointed at me and my Celebi, which was flying in front of me while looking at the kid in a confused manner. "Hey look!" A few more kids said, and soon a swarm of people started to gather as they recognized me, with a Celebi. It was news fuel to say the least.

Soon, the same memory of getting suffocated started to come back to me, something that I hated with a passion.

"Let's Get out of here! You guys, return!" Bonnie exclaimed as she returned Plusle, Minun, and Dedenne back in their Pokeballs. "Quick! This way!" Brock yelled as they all ran from the now HUGE crowd of people after them. 

Everyone was running, even Serena who had the Egg in her arms. Suddenly---

"Ow!" Serena yelled as her foot hit a pebble on the ground, making her trip over it and fall, along with the Egg in her arms!

"No!" I yelled, turning around and looking at a falling Serena, with the fragile Egg in her arms as well.

Right before Serena and the Egg hit the Ground, a loud voice came: "Biii---!" Serena and the Egg started floating, right a few inches above the ground, while covered with a light blue color. "Biii---!" Celebi exclaimed as it got near the two, as it's whole body was glowing in a light-green color. It was using Psychic to stop Serena and the Egg from hitting the ground!

Within a few seconds, Celebi raised Serena back on her feet. The huge Crowd started to catch up on us now, and it looked like I was in for some suffocation. "Squishy! Use Land's Wrath!" Bonnie exclaimed as she commanded Squishy to attack the crowd. Squishy roared as it glowed green, and huge beams of green light emerged from the ground as it cracked. The whole crowd suddenly stopped as they saw Squishy use it's immense Power. 

"Quick! Let's hurry!" Bonnie exclaimed as she bought us some time. I took the Egg from Serena and continued on running, with extreme caution as to not trip like Serena did. Soon, we were out of sight from the crazy crowd of people and hid behind a building to avoid getting spotted. 

"Phew! That was a close one!" Serena said as she panted. "Is the Egg okay?" She asked me, since I was the one holding the Egg now. "Yeah. The Egg's fine. You?" I replied to Serena as I panted as well from all of the sudden running. "Yeah, I'm fine." Serena replied, as she took hold of her breath.

"Wait is this the Vermilion City Gym?" Bonnie asked me as she noticed the Pokeball logo on the building we were hiding behind. The building was more like a warehouse, with many yellow Lightning bolts painted all over it.

"Yeah, looks like it. You want a gym battle for the thunder badge, right?" Brock asked Bonnie. "Yeah!" Let's go, Squishy!" Bonnie replied, as she moved ahead inside the Gym's main entrance with Squishy, who was still in his 25% form. 

"Celebi, you should go inside the GS Ball. I don't think it's wise to keep you out on display like this and gather even more attention" I said to Celebi as I put it back in the GS Ball, that only I could use. Brock, Serena and I follower Bonnie inside the Gym with Pikachu now on my shoulders.

[Meanwhile, a bit away from the group]

Writer's POV

Jessie, James, and Meowth, were on to their usual business. The Team Rocket trio were high up in the air, on their Meowth-shaped Hot air balloon as they looked at Ash and his friends, going inside the Vermilion Gym.

"Well, well, look at who we have 'ere!" Meowth said to Jessie and James in his usual tone. "Is it a rare bottle cap collection museum?" James asked Meowth in a curious tone. "Is it that cute actor who's starring in the new movie?" Jessie asked Meowth as she blushed a bit. 

*Whoooz* *Whooz* (Meowth using Fury Swipes on Jessie and James's faces.)

"Shut up your Me-owths! I meant to say it was the twerps!" Meowth says to Jessie and James, who were laying down in pain with scratch marks on both of their faces.

"You didn't have to do that to get your point across, Meowth!" James said in an annoyed manner. "You twos keep on dreamin', while the twerps got Celebi and Squishy!" Meowth said to the two.

"Celebi and Squishy? Together? You thinking what I'm thinking?" Jessie says to James and Meowth.  "Yes! We should quit Team Rocket, get away as far as possible from the Twerps, find new jobs, maybe change our names, and I'm going to call you Angelica!" James replies to Jessie as he crosses his arms. He knew how slim their chances were against two Legendary Pokemon.

*WHAM* "No, you Idiot! We're going to catch those two Pokemon!" Jessie said to James as she smacked his head. "But Jess, how are we even going to catch them?" James replied to Jessie in pain. 

"Yeah... now that you mention it, we can't just grab two legendary Pokemon with these two losers on our team." Jessie says as she referenced the two losers in their team as Arbok and Weezing. "Hmm... Maybe I have an Idea!" Meowth says to Jessie and James. "What Idea, Meowth?" Jessie asks Meowth with a doubtful tone. 

Meowth takes out a small cube from a bag and presses a button on it. A screen-like hologram appears above the small cube with a phone logo on it. Meowth presses on the phone logo, and gets connected to Team Rocket Headquarters. 

(On-Screen) "What do you want?" Giovanni's assistant says as her video feed appears in the hologram screen. "We need to talk to the Boss. We have some important information." Meowth replied to the assistant. (On-Screen) "Fine. I'm diverting your call" The assistant said as she looked down.

Suddenly, Giovanni appeared on-screen. "Sir!" Jessie, James and Meowth said as they saluted their boss. (On-Screen) "What is it? I believe you have completed the mission like I told you three." Giovanni said, in his harsh voice. 

"We've located the Mysterious Pokemon, Boss. It's another form of Zygarde. The same Pokemon that Team Flare was after in the Kalos Region." Meowth said to Giovanni, still holding his hand at his forehead. (On-Screen) "I see" Giovanni replied in a serious tone. He didn't sound impressed at all. 

"Furthermore, Sir. We've found that the kid with the Pikachu has captured a Celebi. We're going up against two Legendary Pokemon at a time, So..." Meowth said to Giovanni, but got cut off in the end. (On-Screen) "Well done. Report back at Headquarters. Dr. Namba has something for you three" Giovanni said as he terminated the call.

Jessie, James and Meowth stood in silence, as they couldn't believe that Giovanni had praised them for the intelligence they had gathered. "YEEAH!" The trio said as they jetted off in their hot air balloon without making any contact with Ash and the rest. 

[Back to Ash and his friends]

Ash and his friends entered the Vermilion Gym. The inside of the Gym was dimly lit. With the battlefield being the only thing that had proper lighting. Ash still remembered the day when he came there and battled for his thunder badge against Lt. Surge. Bonnie moved forward and stood under the lights, which were on a tough, dusty and stiff Battlefield.

Bonnie spotted Lt. Surge, who was sitting in the shadows. He spotted her as well and proceeded to get up, and come under the lights. "Heya little baby. You here for a Gym battle?" Lt. Surge said to Bonnie in his usual cruel tone as he saw her enter the Battlefield. "Raichuu---" Lt. Surge's Raichu said as it emerged from the shadows as well. 

"Whoa! It's you! It's been a long time, kid!" Lt. Surge says as he spots Ash, who just came under the lights as well. "Oh h-hey, Lieutenant Surge!" Ash says to Lt. Surge in a bit of a surprised manner as he didn't expect to get recognized.  

"This yo' friends?" Lt. Surge said. " And is this little girl here for a gym battle?" He added as he went towards Bonnie and knelt down a bit in front of her, to get to her equal height. "Wanna battle, little Baby?" He says to Bonnie, making Bonnie extremely angry at this point for being called a little baby.

"Yeah, These are all my friends. Serena, Bonnie, and you must remember Brock. Bonnie is here for a Gym Battle." Ash said to Lt. Surge as he introduced his friends. "Great! Let's get this over with! Raichu! get ready!" Lt. Surge said to his Raichu as he walked and stood straight on the battlefield with him, ready for a battle. 

"Okay, Squishy! Let's show em' what we can do! " Bonnie said as Squishy moved forward. *Roar* Squishy roared, ready to battle since he was already in his 25% form.

One of Lt. Surge's staff members stood at the edge of the battlefield as the referee for the battle. "This will be a One-on-One Pokemon Gym Battle. The battle is over when either Pokemon is unable to battle. The Gym Leader, Lt. Surge has chosen Raichu. Whereas the Challenger, Bonnie has chosen-- Uh--" the referee said as he had no clue what Pokemon Squishy was.

"It's Squishy." Bonnie said to the referee. "Doesn't look very Squishy to me. But it will be squishy when i'm done with it" Lt. Surge said as he looked at Squishy.

"This battle isn't even going to last a minute." Brock says as he looked at the type match-up. "What makes you think like that?" Serena asked Brock in a confused tone. "Well, Squishy is a Legendary and a Dragon/Ground type whereas Raichu is an electric type. Electric types are extremely weak against Ground types, so Squishy won't even feel most of electric attacks at all." Brock replied to Serena as he explained the whole match-up, which was completely one-sided.

"Battle Begin!" The referee said, as he started the Gym battle between Bonnie and Lt. Surge.

*Freeze Frame*

Narrator: "After capturing Celebi and a brief Legendary Pokemon battle between Celebi and Squishy, Ash and his friends were forced to stop the battle and run, to avoid the public. Coincidentally, they hide behind the Vermilion City Gym, and are now Bonnie is battling for her Seventh Gym badge, The Thunder Badge. The Match-up heavily favors Bonnie at first glance, but will everything go down just like Bonnie thinks it will? Find out! as the Journey Continues!"
