Chapter 43
As soon as we reached home, my mother started to bombard me with questions. We had to lie to her saying that we were showing Jessica the country side and forgot about the time.
After dinner we were all exhausted and went straight to bed.
"Tough day." Jessica sighed.
"Yeah. I never thought Mr Seth Adams would turn out to be so evil." I replied with disappointment.
"I never thought I will talk to a ghost who is not evil." Jessica replied.
We looked at each other and we both laughed aloud.
"Do you think Ryan is still mad at me." I asked.
However when I looked at Jessica she was already asleep.
I didn't receive a goodnight text from Ryan yet. So, I guessed he was still furious and I texted him myself. I didn't realize when I drifted off to sleep.

"Wake up." I heard someone shouting.
I opened my eyes slowly and I saw Jessica standing in front of me. She looked fresh and ready to go out.
"Why are you always so active?" I asked as I threw my pillow at her.
"Stop. We need to go and meet Anita. Ryan is waiting in the kitchen. I mean..... He's eating too." Jessica said.
"What? Ryan is here?" I asked out of shock.
"Of course. Why?" Jessica asked.
"I thought he would still be mad at me." I said.
"No he can't live without you. Now get up." She said and threw back the pillow on me.
I woke up and washed myself. I stepped down into the kitchen and I found Ryan devouring the pancakes. He was always hungry.
"Are you ready? Let's go!" He said with his mouth stuffed with food.
I said nothing and hugged him tight.

Anita was already waiting for us at the beach. There was no one there. Ryan said the legend of the yellow birds scared people.
"Hey Florence." Jessica started.
"I mean Anita. We should probably get along with that change in name soon." Jessica laughed.
"Sorry for being late. Did you find the number?" I asked.
"Yes I found them this morning." Anita said as she handed to us a piece of paper.
I took the paper from her and my hand rubbed against hers. It felt so real. Her hands were soft and warm. No one would believe that she was actually a dead person.
Jessica dialed the number of the psychiatrist and put the phone on speaker.
However, there was no respond. She tried again but in vain. We tried some more times but still we got no response.
"There is the number of his secretary at the back of the paper. Try that." Anita said.
We called the secretary and the lady picked up soon.
"Hello." A lady said.
"Hello. Can I talk to Mr Philip please." Jessica talked.
"Oh Mr Philips? I'm sorry to say but he died some days ago. I'm really sorry." The lady answered.
"Oh. No problem. Thank you." Jessica said and hung up the phone.
"How is that possible?" Anita murmured.
"He just died guys. It is possible." Ryan said, trying to get rid of the tension among us.
"Yeah. Okay I should get going." Anita said.
"Where? We need to plan our next move." Jessica asked quickly.
"Yes but I have to meet Brie. Adams is out with his dear wife and daughters." Anita said as she rolled his eyes.
"Great. We can come too then. I want to meet your mother." Jessica said.
"Yeah nice idea. She will feel better too." Anita smiled.
