"Forget all that now Ryan. It's her life. Maybe I can change it." I said.

"Woah woah woah. Stop. Stop right there. You'll change her life? What are you up to now?" Ryan asked with his eyes widely opened.

"I will ask her out. If I'm his boyfriend I can change her life right?" I replied as I blushed.

"Do you want to get beaten or something?" Ryan asked as he furrowed his eyebrows at me.

"But what?" I asked.

"You just got to know her. If you propose her so quickly, she will leave! Give her some time. Get along with each other first." He explained.

I was a bit startled at that moment.

"How come you know so much about these things Mr super brain?" I asked, trying to tease Ryan.

"I watch movies." He said as he crossed his arms.

I looked at him fixedly. I really didn't know what to say. And I didn't even know what was the right thing to do so I guessed I would be listening to his advice.

"Call her and ask her number so that you can text her later." Ryan said.

"Ryan are you mad? I HAVE her number!" I shouted and gradually I started to laugh at his stupidity.

"I was joking." Ryan laughed too.

Me and Ryan always noticed that time moved way too fast. But then I realised that no, WE wasted a lot of time by cracking jokes all day.

"Okay. Okay." Ryan said as he held his breathe.

"Call her. And ask her to come with you to an ice cream treat." He completed.

"Hey. Nice idea. I want to eat an ice cream too." I said excitedly.

"Then what are you waiting for. Go on. Number the dial." Ryan said.

"What?" I asked.

"I meant.... Dial the number." He answered with a smile.

I called Florence and she picked up immediately.

"Hello. Florence speaking." She greeted.

"Hi. It's me, Twan." I replied.

"Hey what's up. I was waiting for your call." She said enthusiastically.

"She was waiting for my call!!!" I whispered to Ryan with so much of excitement that I didn't realise I was hitting him..
Ryan pushed me and told me to behave.

"Yeah. I was wondering if........you know....if you had time..." I stammered.

"Time for what?" She asked.

"For an ice cream!" Ryan shouted.

"Oh shit! I'm so...sorry...it's my friend.....it's not..I mean he's just joking...I'm sorry..." I panicked on the phone and gave Ryan a stern look.

"It's cool Twan. If you're really inviting me for an ice cream treat, I would love to come with you." She said.

"Really?" I asked.

"Why not?" She answered.

"Okay then. I'm giving you an ice cream treat. Will you come with me." I asked with a glow on my face.

"Of course! When?" She asked.

"You can decide when you want." I replied.

"Okay maybe at 2 pm?" She said.

"I'm cool with it." I said.

"Great!" See you then. In Manville. I know a vendor there. He has a sort of stall near your university itself. We can go there!" She replied excitedly.

"Yeah cool. Thanks Florence. Have a nice day." I said.

"You too. Bye." She said and hung up the phone.
