Samantha's Trial

"None of these wounds are that deep," Mario observed, standing next to a still upset Peach and an unusually quiet Rosalina. "What the hell does that mean?"

"I don't know," Rosalina sighed, clutching her stomach. She now wore a pink dress instead of a blue. "I really have no idea."

"Come on you guys... I don't know what you guys are going through, but if we don't figure out this murder, we'll all die."

"I know," Rosalina looked down. "I was just thinking of my...children. Samantha really didn't deserve this.."

"She really didn't," Peach shut her eyes. "What sort of madman would do this..?"

"You'd think the first stab wound would've told the murderer to stop," Kaira shrugged. "Oh well, it just makes me innocent, which is fine."

"It is pretty dumb," Saiko agreed. "But maybe the murderer wasn't sure Sam was dead..."

"Oh, come on. Any of these wounds she would've died from. Except for... wait. What are those wounds on her arms?"

"Self harm wounds," Krystal spoke up, making the two look at the blonde. "She was... hurting herself."

"But why? She was fine.."

"She looked fine," Krystal stared straight at the two. "But was she really?"

"What the hell are these hairs?" Toad questioned in annoyance. "They look like straight up monster fur."

"Straight from a movie," Toadette laughed slightly. "One reminder of home."

"You're right. But seriously, look at it. It's kinda gross."

"I didn't realize we were shooting a horror movie," Toadette raised her brow in amusement. "Whoever's animal this belongs to is a mess."

"Animal?"

"Well, obviously," Toadette said. "What else could this have come from?"

<><><>

"The trial starts... now!"

"The victim was found with multiple blood stains," Peach started, trying to get back into the swing of things. "Self harm wounds were present and little... hairs."

"We think the wounds on her arms were self inflicted," Krystal interjected. "Those are definitely-"

"I don't think so," Kaira was quick to interrupt her. "The wounds look a little too perfect to be self inflicted. I mean, I could be wrong, of course. But it just looks too... Perfect."

"I don't think that when people self harm they think about it," Krystal admitted. "Maybe Samantha was a perfectionist."

"But she didn't show any traits of being one," Saiko reminded them. "She never seemed like one."

"It just seems a little too tacky," Kaira said. "This wasn't a suicide by any means, and the wounds on her arms make me feel like that's what we're supposed to think. There's no way any suicide would've gone through all this stabbing..."

"Self harm isn't tacky!" Krystal snapped, annoyed with Kaira's assumption. "She could've really just been having a hard time, hacking away at her arms... the killer could've come after her! Besides, Samantha could've stabbed herself three times-"

"No offense," Boo interrupted. "But she seemed to have a pretty stable life. I've checked in on all of you guys-"

"Wait a second, you've checked in on all of us?" Birdo exclaimed.

"Yeah, I can go through walls," Boo shrugged. "She's never self harmed, which is different then what I can say from some of you guys."

"Hey!" Birdo frowned. "Just what have you seen?"

"I don't think you want that shared in front of everyone," Boo smirked. "But she's never harmed herself, I can tell you that much."

"Okay, so it's not a suicide," Soleil said, bringing the conversation back to its original focus. "But that doesn't bring us any closer. We still don't know who murdered Samantha."

"Well, Samantha must've put up quite a fight for the killer to stab three times," Kaira responded. "So that means the killer wasn't extremely strong."

"I guess that's true," Rosalina nodded. "Or the killer just really wanted to make sure Samantha was dead."

"That seems unlikely," Toadette replied dryly. "One hit and she's as good as dead."

"Okay, so we're saying the murderer's weak," Toad said. "These are all just assumptions."

"Haven't you learned that everything we've done in all these trials are assumptions?"

"Well, What are these hairs?" Waluigi questioned, involving himself in the conversation. "They're blonde."

"Rubi, Peach, Rosalina, Krystal, and technically Ingrid all have blonde in their hair..."

"Yeah, but it's not human," Toad reminded them. "So I don't know where you're going with that."

"Well, no one has any sort of hair on their clothes, right?" Mario asked, and quickly looked around. No one had any sign of the hairs. "So... now what?"

"Samantha didn't have a pet," Krystal replied. "So... it's gotta be our culprit's pet, I guess. But no one has any hair..."

"So we're back to square one?" Birdo sighed. "I don't know why I'm surprised-"

"Not really," Peach spoke up finally. "We've gotten a lot farther..."

"Yeah, we've discovered a lot more," Rosalina agreed. "Like-"

"Like how you're a murderer?" Boo sneered in Rosalina's direction, and Rosalina gasped at the assumption. "Oh please, it's so obvious now!"

"What?" Rosalina was appalled at the thought of her killing someone. "I would never-"

"Well, first we start with the fact of saying our murderers weak, and you're rather slim," Boo scowled. "And you disagreed when we said our murderer was weak, by the way. You changed your dress earlier, from blue to pink! I bet if I checked your closet, I'd find those hairs on it..."

"I would never kill Samantha," Rosalina disagreed. "Please, you have to believe me. Samantha was a dear friend-"

"Can you give us a reason to believe you then?" Peach looked at her friend, hoping that she had something to say. "An alibi?"

"I-"

"Oh, that makes so much more sense now," Saiko sighed. "Saiko was wondering why that yellow couldn't be seen on anyone."

"I didn't do it!" Rosalina screeched, desperate. "I really didn't!"

"Everything points to you."

"N-no," Rosalina's eyes shifted from side to side. My mom would be disappointed. "The hairs are blonde, or could've been-"

"We already established that it's not long enough to be human hair."

"Oh, geez..." Rosalina's eyes widened. "F...fine. They're my children's hair!"

"What?"

"I've done it now," Rosalina ducked her eyes under her arm, presumably so they couldn't see her cry. "My mother would hate me... my children would be disappointed..."

"Rosalina, I'm confused as hell," Soleil admitted. "What?"

"My children," Rosalina grew slightly irritated. "For fucks sake... my pets! You know, dogs, cats? They're my Lumas! My little stars, they're all going to grow up to do great things! But they can't do that if I'm not there, I need to get home and help them!"

"Well, I guess we figured it out," Mario looked at the ground. "Rosalina..."

"Please, I don't want to die," Rosalina begged. "They need me..."

"Sounds like it's time to vote," Monokuma smirked down at them. "Up and at em!"

"Yeah, it's Rosalina," Monokuma screeched. "Y'know what that means..."

"Please," Rosalina shouted, tears streaming down her face. "Take care of my children. I live in the Comet Observatory... please."

"Enough of this," Monokuma smirked. "It's punishment time!"

The platinum blonde was tied to a rocket, which launched into space. It continued going up, and Rosalina began to choke from the lack of air. Just as she was about to suffocate, the rocket exploded.

Hey everyone! Sad to see Rosalina go? My favorite canon character had to go, lol.

Did you guys get the notification for this chapter?

Was it hard for you to figure this one out?

Who do you want to see more of next chapter?

I'm pretty sure some of you have access to my notes by the way, since you claim you have no idea and then you get it right. Wtf?

Yes, her children weren't actual children, they were pets.

Thanks for reading!
