I got onto my knees in shock and horror. As I ran my fingers over the pile of dust that used to be my best friend realization hit me. Thanos had won.

"No, Bucky," I whispered under my breath. Who else was gone? My vision was clouded with tears and my heart ached. For the first time in forever, we had lost.

"So, what do we do now?" Natasha asked as the remaining Avengers sat around the large table.

"I know what I'm going to do. I'm going to kill Thanos," Hawkeye said in a raspy and threatening voice filled with pure rage. His eyes stared vacantly into the distance. He had lost his family to Thanos and hasn't been the same since.

"Don't do anything rash," I said gently to Hawkeye. He looked at me with wild eyes.

"Thanos just killed half the universe and you're telling me to sit by and do nothing!" Hawkeye screamed emphasizing the word me.

"Afraid Hawkeye's right, we lost, but if we're going to do down we're going to go down swinging," Rocket said standing up.

"What's the plan?" I asked.

"Now you're talking," Rocket cocked his gun. Within an hour we were ready. Before the day was over we had put together a plan to carry out our goal. We got word of where Thanos was and took off to find him in Rocket's spaceship.

"You better not puke on my ship," Rocket said before we took off. We landed on the planet where Thanos had last been spotted and stepped into the dirt.

"What?" Natasha said when we saw the sight. Thanos was already dead and the infinity stones were lying next to him.

"The time stone," I mumbled under my breath. "We have to use the time stone," I said louder. Hawkeye ran up to take it.

"No, Hawkeye, it will kill you," Thor yelled after him.

"Better dead than to live without my family," He said with tears streaming down his face. Thor jumped on top of him before he could touch the stone.

"Who should wield the stone?" Thor asked still hanging onto an angry Hawkeye.

"I think you should Captain," Natasha looked up at me.

"Me?" I pointed at myself.

"I agree," Rocket added.

"Okay, I will bring our friends back," I promised before picking up the stone. As I picked up the stone I flashed through my entire history. A small, powerless soldier, Hydra, a supersoldier, Bucky, the Avengers, and everything else. As I looked through everything from our triumphs to our failure time stopped. It was the time when Thanos first showed up. Loki was being choked by Thanos.

"No, Loki," I screamed throwing my shield at Thanos. He dropped Loki and as I went to grab him and pull him away from Thanos. Just as I touched him the time stone started acting weird again and pulled me back into my timeline dragging Loki along with me. My next destination in time was the moment when Thor hit Thanos in the chest with his ax.

"No, brother," Loki cried running out from behind the tree where we were hiding. Thanos dropped to his knees groaning.

"You should have gone for the head," He said. Just as he was about to snap again Loki, who was now behind him drove his knife into Thanos's head and Thanos fell to the ground limp.

"You're welcome brother," Loki said holding his arms out.

"Brother!" Thor boomed pulling him into a hug. Footsteps ran towards me from behind. It was me but it didn't look like he could see me. As I ran through me we phased and there was only of us. The timeline was fixed even though I wasn't the hero. Even if no one knows I don't care. I pulled Bucky into a huge hug and we laughed together.
