Sarada was shopping when her mom Sakura called.

"Honey, Boruto called me earlier and said he proposed to you!" Sakura exclaimed from the other line on the phone.

"Yes mom. And I said yes!" Sarada replied with excitement.

"Oh my, I am so happy for you." She said rejoicing.

Hinata came to their home, looking worried she rushed to enter the door uninvited.

"What a surprise Hinata? Are you here to talk about the wedding preparation already?" Sakura smiled.

"No Sakura, I am worried. Is that Sarada on the phone? Can I talk to her?" Hinata said.

"Sure, no problem Hinata, we'll be in laws soon." She gave Hinata the phone.

"I am so happy for both of you Sarada." Hinata said in a weak voice.

"B-but, I don't know what I am feeling right now. I should be happy, but I felt very nervous since I cannot contact, Boruto. We just talked one hour ago and he told me about the good news. My phone was battery empty but after I charged it, I can't contact him until now. Are you with him?" Hinata asked worrying.

"He's at aunt Karin's laboratory. " Sarada answered.

"I called Karin already, But Karin said he left." Hinata replied. "Please check on him Sarada. I can't contain my nervousness, my intuition tells me, something bad happened to my son. "

"Don't worry auntie, I will call you after I check on him." Sarada appeased Hinata.

"Mommy, look at the news on TV." Hana called Sakura's attention.

"Oh no! Sarada be careful. The news said a poison spread on the waters from that place. It killed about 1/3 of the Hidden Mist population! " Sakura wailed.

"How could this happen?" Hinata commented. "Oh Kasai is on the news. She's being interviewed right now."

"Kasai, there has been a massive death that happened because of the poisonous waters. They say the poison emanated from your laboratory in the Hidden Mist. What can you say about this?" The news anchor asked her.

Kasai shed a tear and replied to the question. "It was so sad that this calamity happened. It was my fault for allowing my blind sister, Sarada inside the laboratory. She accidentally push some buttons and flushed out some toxic chemicals to the river."

"And that river was the source of drinking water on your place right? " Asked the news anchor.

"Y-yes... I am so sorry for what my sister have done. I will take full responsibility with what happened." Kasai responded.

"No! That is a lie! Sarada is blind but she isn't stupid." Sakura shouted and she switched off the TV.

"Sarada, did you hear that? Kasai is putting the blame on you. "

"Mom, that's not true. I have never been inside her laboratory. I suspected they were cooking something in the heavily guarded room. But I have never entered it." Sarada explained her side.

"I know honey. You are not irresponsible. For now keep yourself safe. The police might investigate on you. we will go there to rescue you." She ordered.

" Yes mom. I will. " But as soon as Sarada finished the call, she felt an egg was thrown to her face.

"You're the curse girl who caused the death of many people in our village! " An old woman shouted.

Another threw tomatoes, and another eggs, until almost all in the grocery store attacked her by throwing eggs and tomatoes on her.

Sarada cried as she heard the mob whining and saying she's a curse. She cannot fight with them for she understood the people were angry about the death of many villagers. She could only talk to defend herself.

"I didn't do it. I have never done anything...!" She said in a loud voice. But to no avail, people didn't believe her.

" Liar! You're a liar. You're the curse that came to our village." One man said.

"Our place was safe and peaceful until you Konoha Ninjas came." Another from the mob accused her.

The mob was angered all the more and they started to punch Sarada.

"No, please don't. Please. " She said in a weak voice.

She cringed as they continuously hurt her even if she's not fighting back. Until a fire alarm noised the grocery store and people run out to the exit leaving Sarada badly beaten.

A young man helped her and carried her when she collapsed.

She awakened on an unfamiliar voice beside her. Putting ointment on her bruised body.

" Who are you? " She asked.

"I am the one who turned on the fire alarm to stop the mob. Call me Fox." He answered in base voice.

"I am putting ointment on you if you don't mind me touching you. " He asked for permission.

"Thank you. I can do it myself. I am a medical ninja." She stopped him and smile weakly.

"Why did you allow yourself to be beaten if you are a ninja?" He asked with sarcasm.

"Why did you helped me? Didn't you hear what they were saying about me. I am a curse." Sarada said.

"I don't believe in curse." he said.

" But don't you know me?" She asked.

"I know you are Sarada Uchiha, the blind Kunoichi. Sister of Kasai Uchiha, the world heroine for peace. I saw you both on TV. " He said. "Well, I just helped you because I don't believe the TV news. Therefore, I don't believe you are the reason why people died, or why my father died."

"Your father died? " She sensed he was crying a bit. "I am sorry for your loss. "

"You can't pay it with sorry. Yes, he was poisoned by that bitter water. And I am determined to investigate on this." He touched her forehead and gave her something to drink.

"Here drink up some medicine. I am expecting you'd be able to help me dig through the bottom of this problem." He said.

"Thanks" She gulped the medicine. "Why did you think it wasn't me? Everyone think it's me. Kasai even broadcasted it on TV."

"Because it sounds like a convenient excuse to close the case and put a blame on some dork who can't even protect herself." He said.

"Dork? I am not a dork!" She said."

"Yes you are." He insisted.

"I know that you are sad from losing your dad... I'm sorry about that... And you're right, it wasn't my fault. I don't know why my sister is doing this to me. But I am not a dork, kid." She whined.

"By saying that makes you a dork. And I am not a kid. I am a man ok." He retorted.

"By saying that makes you a kid! " She retaliated.

And they both stopped arguing and laughed aloud.

"You're just bitter like this medicine I drank. " Sarada said while she returned the empty cup to him.

"You're also bitter to have a sister who betrays you." Fox smile wryly.

"Yes I am. I know." She accepted his definition of her.

"Don't worry, I am ending that bitterness by letting you drink the bitter water from the river which they called Wormwood."

Sarada tried to puke as she realized what she drank wasn't medicine but the water that killed the villagers. Her body numbed and she felt dizzy.

She thought, He is killing me by poisoning me with the same water that killed his dad.. The wormwood.
