I'm Old, So What The Hell
I've bin there
done that
worn out a few hundred tee-shirts.
I don't need to ask who I am
where I'm goin'
what the future holds.
I've seen the world fighting itself
man killing his brother
genocide.
I watched a man walk on the moon
or wherever it was
(seems the jury's out on that one!).
I've loved and lost
known all the emotions kids seem to think are new
and I've come out the other side.
Death don't scare me
I've known it all my life
it's inevitable.
My conscience is clean
I've always done what had to be done
despite not always happy with the doing.
I don't believe in heaven
or hell
nor any god.
I am me
when I die
there's Oblivion.
I'm old
I no longer give a damn
so what the hell!
