Daphne

After my dad carried my soulmate out the door in actual fucking handcuffs, I was inconsolable! Mom tried to comfort me by saying she was going to talk to dad, but I wouldn't stop crying! I literally cried myself to sleep in Felix's arms.

Honestly, it's good that I had him trough this, at least he could relate to my situation or empathize with me. It's not like I could talk to my mom about my mate!

The next day, mom took me to see an ob-gyn. She then examed me, took some blood and talked to me about my options. Mom was there holding my hand all the time. If I'm honest, it felt good having a supportive parent, for once. Especially one who is a medical professional. It's always been my dream to become a doctor just like her!

She gave me a doctor's note for school and said I could go home, but I told her honestly I didn't want to be alone. I preferred being with Felix and my friends. So, she gave me money and I took a cab to school.

I arrived sometime before lunch. Felix asked me how it was at the doctor's as soon as he saw me. I explained what I've learned from my consult and we continued with our classes.

At lunch break, I went to Dan's table to find out more about Nate and freaked out when I saw him over there eating. I ran to him and he met me with open arms. We held each other for what it felt like an eternity. And then we sat together at their table.

"How?!" - It was all I could muster from the shock.

"My dad's lawyer got them to set a bail. And my dad posted it. I was out this very morning. Honestly, my father threatened to call the Mayor if Chief Ford didn't release me. It was awesome!" - He explained, beaming with joy.

"I'm glad you're out, brother! I mean it!" - Dan said to him, touching his arm.

"We're glad too, Nate!" - Mike told him. But Tom and Carl were also looking at him happily.

"However, this is a serious charge and my lawyer said my best hope was to get your father to drop them." - Nate spoke, looking at me.

"I think there's a better chance that the President pardons you." - I snickered, but in a somber tone.

"You know I never wanted for this to happen, right?" - I told him. - "I don't know why you went to my house yesterday. You're crazy!" - I smiled faintly.

"I din't want you to think you're alone in this! This baby is mine too! I'll be there for you no matter what!" - Nate spoke in a confident tone. His head was high, he was adamant.

"Thanks Nate, I love you!" - I admitted.

As I said it, everyone looked at me gasped. Even I was surprised I said it. Dan was gobsmacked. But Nate was floored.

"I love you too!" - He spoke as he looked at me with lovesick eyes. And then we kissed.

"See Felix, be happy you're a guy and don't have to go through this! Can you imagine if Dan got YOU pregnant?" - I joked, poking at him.

"That's impossible! If anything, I got him pregnant..." - He said it and everyone's mouths were agape. I mean, everyone was surprised. And everybody stared at Dan, shocked at the revelation!

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to say it like that..." - Felix rushed to apologize to Dan, who was gobsmacked.

"That's okay, Felix. And here I thought werewolves were loud mouths!"- He snickered.

"Daniel Huntington, you keep surprising me everyday! I mean, when we were together you didn't even let me..."

"Lauren!" - Daniel screamed, interrupting her. "TMI!" - He spoke and we all laughed at his embarrassment.

Nate

When we got home from school, dad was waiting for us with the lawyer at his office. So me and Dan went straight over there, just after we dropped our school bags.

"Good afternoon, gentlemen. I have news!" - The lawyer said in an eerie tone.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Mathews. What is it?" - I asked him, worriedly.

"So, I don't know if you know this, but we have a Romeo & Juliet law that protects young people from being charged with a sex offense, even if one them is at the age of 18 or older. But the law only applies if the couple had consensual intercourse." - Mr. Mathews stated.

"It was consensual! I swear it!" - I shouted at the lawyer, wide eyed.

"As I was saying, apart from this, Texas State law says that the age of consent is 17. Therefore, Chief Ford has no legal ground to charge you with statutory rape as the minor involved is 17 years old!" - He continued. And I gasped.

"Oh my Goddess! That means he has to drop the charges?" - I questioned him, excitedly.

"Yes, no charge can be filed against you for this. You're free!" - The lawyer said with a serious tone.

I was ecstatic! Dan rushed to hug me. We basically jumped up and down with joy. That is until...

"However..." - The lawyer started again and my heart sank. Dan and I looked at him, worriedly.

"Chief Ford did use his position to file a restraining order against you. You're not allowed to be within 15 feet from his daughter." - He stated and I dropped to the floor. Dan caught me as I fell and helped me up.

"What?!" - Dan screamed. The lawyer handed me the paper containing the order of protection.

"How can this happen?" - I asked him. I was so astonished. So shocked. I lost my balance!

"We can fight it, but unfortunately for now, you have to maintain your distance from her." - The lawyer stated, seriously.

"But Mathews, they go to school together!" - Dad argued.

"Yes, but even in school he's not allowed to go near her, otherwise Chief Ford has cause to arrest him again." - Mr. Mathews explained.

"Kill me now. Just get it over with! If I'm not allowed to see Daphne, I don't want to exist!" - I said and Dan comforts me in a hug. I start sobbing.

"We'll fight this! You heard the lawyer." - Dan told me, trying to encourage me.

After we left my dad's office, I went to my room and called Daphne.

"You're not gonna believe this, your dad..." - I started but got interrupted.

"I know, he just told me!" - She replied, I could tell she was crying.

"I'm so sorry this is happening to us! I fucked up!" - I said as I started sobbing again.

"No, you din't! This is as much my fault as it is yours!" - She deadpans.

"I can't live without you, I can't! I know we've only known each other for a few weeks but I honestly can't imagine my life without you!" - I confessed it.

"I know, I feel the same way!"

"I mean, we've just seen each other at school and I miss you already!" - I told her, so deeply sad.

"I miss you too!"

"Have you decided what you're going to do about the baby?" - I asked her, expectantly.

"Not yet! Honestly, with everything that's happened I didn't have time to think about it."

"Just please know that I support you no matter what! Even from a distance!" - I croaked.

"I know, Nate."

"See you at school, I mean at least over there I can look at you." - I said to her with a saddened tone.

"See you tomorrow!" - And then we hang up the phone.

I don't know what I'm gonna do! How am I supposed to NOT go anywhere near my own mate?

I mean, I just got served with the restraining order and already I was missing her! I missed her smile, her kiss, I even missed how she always made feel embarrassed. Though Felix certainly gave her a run for her money today with Dan. Speaking of which, Dan enters my room.

"How are you?" - He wondered.

"I just spoke with her. She sounded devastated!" - I told him, crushed.

"Poor Daphne! First, the unwanted pregnancy, now this!" - He pondered, frowning.

"Yeah, it's been a difficult couple of days!" - I replied, pensive.

There was a brief silence between us.

"So... Felix huh, who knew?" - I snickered.

"Yeah... Certainly I didn't!" - He answered, I could tell he was embarrassed at the revelation.

"Was it your idea..?" - I asked a little uncomfortable.

"No, it was all him! I mean, he suggested it and I went... huh. I did not see it coming!" - He told me with reddened face.

"Me neither! And how was it? I mean, not the technical part, just the act in itself?" - I asked carefully.

"If I'm honest, I fucking loved it! Of course, it was my first time with a guy. But it was as you said, when it's with your mate, everything is wonderful! Especially sex!" - He replied with a wide grin.

"Oh and so hot! I mean, he was on fire that night!" - He continued, excitedly. I could see he was very happy.

"OK, I got the point. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself! I really am, you certainly deserve it!" - I told him with a weak smile. I tried to be happy for him, but unfortunately all that I heard just now made me miss my mate even more!

"You'll get over this, I know it." - He said as he noticed my brooding mood.

"I hope so! I don't know what I'll do if I can't be with her, Dan!" - I spoke with a sad realization.

"I understand, brother." - He replied with a gloomy voice.

"I miss everything about her! Especially now that she's with child. But even if she doesn't keep it, I just want to be with her, by her side, forever and ever!" - I said as I can't stop the tears from falling down my face.
