It was dark. Cold and scary in the forest. I had lost my ball. I was wandering aimlessly. Scared. Not knowing where I was. My family didn't even know I was out here. I was only four.
I heard far off voices calling my name. Not knowing if those where the voices in my head or a search party looking for me.

"Aleesia! Where are you!" It was my father. My big brother had come too.

I started crying out. Because I was afraid.

"It's alright Aleesia. We've got you now. There's no need to be afraid." Aiden said picking me up.

"I was so worried about you. Your mother was too. I thought I lost you forever." Father said rubbing his cheek against mine. I blushed furiously. That was the last time I remembered my father smile like that. The one that reached his eyes.

We were back at home where mother was waiting with Alyssa crying in her arms.

"Alyssa!" I said calling her name. Making her glance up at me. Her puffy eyes were red around the rim. I never want to see her cry like that again.

"My little Sia! Don't you dare worry me like that again!" Mother said running towards me and pulling me in my arms.

Mother used to call me "My little Sia" when I was hurt. She was always gentle. And the most beautiful woman I have ever met in my lifetime. I don't know any more beautiful than my mother. I just hope I turn out to be like her.

It's why I was so worried when I thought I lost Caddy when I was in pain. I was afraid. It's my weakness. And I don't like being afraid. Not at all. I promise that I'd protect my mother as I grew stronger. But in the end I was too late. Just like how I thought when I lost Caddy. Yet she came back. And my mother? She would never come back, fate was already set and stone for her. But my little Caddy still has a long way to go. And I want to keep it like that.
