✉ how to get noticed
❝I am not popular. I'm a noob potato. ❞
Hi, my angels,
In this chapter, I'm going to answer your questions.
* crack my knuckles * okay, let's do this.

[ Hi. Can I ask you how did u become so popular across wattpad? I mean can u give me some tips. ]
I honestly don't consider myself as popular, I mean, did you see those books with millions of reads? And not nine books combined but like one single book having that many reads, it's unbelievable. When talking about popularity I would simply point at one of my besties on Wattpad tayxwriter she got five million reads in one book (her book is awesome, you should check it out if you haven't already). Plus, she got like 30K people (and counting) following her, I didn't even have a quarter of it. To simply put, I'm not popular. Though thank you for saying that I am, now I could pat myself on the back and tell my sister that I'm not a loser anymore (lol). Seriously, I'm flattered.
In my opinion, if you want to be popular, be kind to everyone. Sure, some people can get popular from doing terrible things but do you really want to be famous for being a bad person? I don't think so. My dad used to be a Buddhist and he said that positivity will invite positive energy.
Now, let's get to the tips!
1. When I finally came to term that no one will read my book if I don't promote it in some way, I did R4R (a lot of them, I got like 50 books to read daily). It's tiring (so I don't recommend you to do this). Other than that, some people would request you to read a specific book (which happened to be one of those genres that you don't really like). After 6 months of doing this, I finally stopped.
If you want to truly do R4R, I suggest you do the 'honest R4R' by joining BOOK CLUBS. Why honest? Because people could tell if you're simply voting on their books without reading (lol). Don't do it if you're not going to really read their books because it's rude and not nice (and I would feel really bad if I do that, which is why I really read all of those books despite hating the genres).
Which leads to you having pressure. Reading becomes an obligation instead of something you enjoy.
So what should you do? Search clubs on Wattpad. There are a lot of them with many threads. I used to join Teen Fiction's How Many Reads Does Your Story Have?; Share the last paragraph that you wrote; and three others. There is also one which let you have a chat with others (some sort of group chat, I'd say, it's easier to access using your PC though, using phone's browser is so frustrating, you have to refresh the page every now and then). There, you can find people with a common interest (same taste in books, music, etc); those are the people you should engage if you want to do an R4R. But I must warn you not to ask them in that group chat because it's not allowed (you can message them or write on their message board but don't be a creep or persistent or spammers! Cos you'll get muted for that).
If you're too shy to ask for R4R, go to their profile, see if you like one of their books, and try to read the first chapter (comment and vote if you like). When they see you reading their book (like I said, comment or vote so they'll know), they usually do the same to yours. But I can't 100% guarantee that will happen, some people would just ignore tbh lol. Don't feel bad or regret anything, you're spreading kindness and love so you shouldn't regret it.
The best solutions, however, is to join book clubs. Those people who are in the book clubs are people who truly want to do read for read. And some book clubs doesn't require you to read one whole book, some might give you different book to read every week. I've joined one before and that's how I met @lolalovesprites she was there (she used to be lolawrites if I'm not wrong 😅). We've become friends even after I got out of the book clubs to focus on my writing.
2. Enough about R4R (since I don't really recommend that anyway). Do you know that you can promote your story in clubs? There is a special thread called:
SHARE YOUR TEEN FICTION STORY HERE | OFFICIAL THREAD | TO BE REFRESHED xx/xx/18
Yes, that's a monthly thread. I used to post my book (especially TBNB) there every month. You can add a summary, link to your story, and also your cover (there's a guideline on how to do that on the top of the thread). Believe it or not, it works the magic.
3. Have an awesome book cover! I know everyone says: don't judge a book by its cover; but seriously (and honestly) the cover is the first to see, the first to catch the eye. How are you planning on attracting readers when your cover is not eye-catching? How would they know that your book is good if they're not even interested in picking it up in the first place?
There are tons of cover shops here on Wattpad (and Pinterest is always there to help), you should visit them and request a cover to your liking.
Those are the tips that I could think of for now (dang, I need some tea or coffee now). I will add some more when I can think of something (or remember something that I did in the past to gain readers).
Most importantly, when you write, enjoy the process. Let the passion takes over you, don't think about whether your book will get read by someone or how many votes will it get.

[ What exactly did you do for your book to reach so much fame? And is it necessary to focus on a particular genre? ]
The answer would be everything I wrote above (this is the beauty of answering questions in a chapter lol I don't have to copy paste or rewrite if I'm on phone).
In my opinion, you don't have to focus on a particular genre although here in Wattpad, these two genres stood out more than the others (Teen Fiction & Fan Fiction). But, I don't think you should write a book just because you want to be famous or excel in that genre. Write anything you like. You write in Wattpad, it's a platform where you can write any story you love to write. In real life, you get a theme, like an editor will tell you specifically what they're looking for and you're supposed to write about those themes (or trends). In wattpad, you're like having a blank canvas, pick up your brush and start painting your story, love. Any genre would do! x

[ Which genre is your favorite to write about? Where do you get your inspiration from? ]
I would say that I enjoy writing Mystery but not the killing or creepy stalking kind of mystery (although I enjoy books written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, Robert Arthur Jr.) but I don't think my heart could take it. Like, I couldn't bring myself to write about killing someone. I also enjoy writing Teen Fiction and New Adult, if you combined all things I enjoyed writing, you'll get TBNB and TBCN.
Other than that, I love writing Greek Mythology related books (Entwined, Enamoured, Engulfed). Those are my first books ever. Entwined came to me in a dream (believe it or not) then I did some research about Androgynous (soulmate). Since I love Hades (I seriously think he's a misunderstood guy), I want to write a story where he's the good guy. Before you ask, no it's not Percy Jackson kinda story (cos Rick Riordan is too awesome, there's no way I could be as good as him). Instead of 'half-blood', my characters are the descendants of the gods himself. (I don't want to get sued by J.K. Rowling for using half blood LOL plus, I want to create something new).
