"Is that your name, Yami?" Yugi asks, hopefully. Yami looks towards him, with a look of such joy, Yugi's heart leaps into his chest.

"Yes." Yami simply says. Yugi pouts.

"Well? Aren't you gonna tell us?" He persists, making Joey, Tea and Tristan laugh. Yami smiles.

"It's... Atem."

At his words, a portal opens in front of the gang; showing pyramids, and a golden throne. Yami turns to Yugi, deep sorrow penetrating his crimson eyes.

"I'm sorry Yugi. But our time together has to come to a close." As Yami finishes his sentence, Yugi's eyes fill with tears. He slowly shakes his head.

"No... I can't lose you... Not now... You were just starting to know everyone! You've done so much for us-"

"And you in return," Yami quickly adds.

"B-But... Yami... Atem..." He takes a deep breath. "Dance with me."

"What?" Yami asks, shocked.

"Dance with me. One round, before you leave for good. I'd like one memory I can keep forever, with no regrets. Unless you don't want to, of course." Yugi explains, his cheeks flushing soft pink. Yami notices, and chuckles.

I'm pretty sure I know what this is about, Aibou. I'll play along, as long as you let me express my feelings before I have to leave. Maybe I might not have to, if you feel the way I do...Yami thinks, while closing off his link, so Yugi can't hear him. Feeling Yami close it off, he pouts towards him.

"If you're going to hide your thoughts from me, fine. Just please tell me what to call you. I can't keep using both names in a sentence, it's way too confusing..." Yugi says, irritated. Yami laughs.

"Yami is fine. And yes – I'll dance with you."

Tea digs in her pocket.

"Found ya!" She exclaims, while whipping out her phone. "Come on... Yes!" She says, while tapping on it. "Internet connection! I have just enough battery for 1 song, so choose wisely."

Yugi and Yami look at each other, communicating through their mind link. Eventually, Yugi walks up to Tea, and whispers in her ear. She laughs, then finds the song on her phone. Tristan and Joey look annoyed.

"Don't worry, you'll find out what the song is soon enough." Yami calls over to them, diverting his attention away from Yugi and Tea. Feeling a bit jealous, even though there's nothing between them, he shouts over to Yugi.

"Do you want to start the dance, or what?" He asks impatiently. Yugi giggles.

"You ready, Tea?" He says. Tea nods, and Yugi strolls over to Yami.

"Shall we sing?" He whispers to his darker counterpart. Yami laughs, and nods, thinking of the expressions from their friends faces. They walk to the middle of the room, and Tea presses 'Play' on her phone.

The opening music starts, and Yami, Yugi and Tea have to struggle to contain their laughter, at the expression on Joey and Tristan's faces.

"The club isn't the best place to find a lover, so the bar is where I go," Yami sings. Now it's Tea's turn to be shocked also. Yugi holds back his laughter, as Yami looks entirely focused. They both start to sway to the music, as Yami continues to sing.

"Me and my friends at the table doing shots, drinking fast, and then we talk slow." Yami continues. He glances towards Yugi, who nods, before they continue dancing along the floor.

"You come over, and start a conversation with just me, and trust me, I'll give it a chance. Now, take my hand, stop! Put our song on the jukebox, and then we start to dance." Yugi interrupts.

"You changed the lyrics, Aibou." Yami comments, using mind link.

"Well, what song is 'Van the Man'? This abbreviation is much better, in my opinion." Yugi replies.

"Fine then: from now on, lets change the lyrics to what we like." Yami laughs, and they pop back into the real world, continuing the dance, Yugi starting off.

"And now I'm singing like-"

"Hikari, you know I want your love, your love was handmade for somebody like me. Come on now, follow my lead, I may be crazy, don't mind me-"

"Aibou, let's not talk too much, grab on my waist, and put that body on me. Come on now follow my lead. Come. Come on now follow my lead."

They swished along the floor, Yami's graceful dancing making up for Yugi's terrible skills at anything close to the sort. Yugi's cheeks blushed brighter as he tripped, but Yami caught him, making it look purposeful, as well as incredibly romantic.

"I'm in love with the heart from you." Yami sings, as he pulls Yugi into his arms. "We push and pull like our mind links do. Although my soul isn't pure like yours, I'm in love with your innocence."

"Last night we were in our room, and now our duel deck is brand new, everyday defeating duellists, not like you, I'm in love with your confidence."

As they spun around, Yugi's eyes twinkled in pure joy, and Yami gave a big smile, taking in the fact that Yugi loves his time with him.

"I'm in love with your innocence."

They continued to dance, Yugi noticing his friends were clapping and cheering them on. Yugi's heart soared, wanting to freeze this moment forever.

"I'm in love with your confidence." He sang.

"New verse." Yugi spoke to Yami with the mind link.

"Yes. You prepared?" Yami asked.

"You worried I'll think of better abbreviations than you?" Yugi asks. Yami laughs.

"You worry, Yugi. I'll beat you, and enjoy it the whole way." Yami sarcastically torments.

"Same goes for me." Yugi finishes, before they go back to the real world to continue their dance.

"One week since, we let our story begin, we began our first duel together. We are both quite crafty, so we go all the way, we fill our heads with victory."

"We talk for hours and hours, about our love and compassion, and whether you'll find your memories."

"And then I appear, not just as a soul, but as a human being as well."

"Well done. You win this round." Yugi communicates to Yami through the mind link. Yami recognises that Yugi is pouting slightly, and chuckles.

"If it helps, you did win last round." Yami says. Yugi's eyes light up.

"Really?" He asks.

"'Now our duel deck is brand new'? Genius. You won for sure." Yami answers. Yugi jumps up and down, before they both went back into the real world, and repeated the chorus.

"Last section, winner takes all." Yugi says in the mind link.

"Yugi?"

"Yes?"

"If I win, I'm going to confess something to you." Yami says, turning his head away, so Yugi won't notice his cheeks flushing slightly.

"I'll do the same, with the same circumstances." Yugi agrees, without realising doing the same thing as Yami, and the deal is done.

"Come on, be my Aibou, Yugi."

"Come on, be my Aibou, Yami."

"We belong together, Hikari."

"I couldn't be without you, Yami."

They repeat these lines, multiple times, then comes the final chorus, before the song ended.

Breathless, Yami and Yugi stare at each other.

"Who won?" Yugi asks. Yami deliberates for a second, then turns to Joey, Tristan and Tea.

"They'll tell us." Yami says. The gang protests, but agrees in the end. Tea goes first.

"What's your favourite line that was spoken?" Yami asks.

"It wasn't changed by much, but I like the line Yami said: 'Aibou you know I want your love'." Tea says. One point for Yami. Before continuing, Yami pauses to notice how red Yugi's cheeks are becoming, before turning to Tristan.

"Yours?"

"Obviously 'Now our duel deck is brand new'! It was so creative, I didn't see it coming!"

Yami smiles. "That's what I thought too." He turns one more time. One all.

"Joey?"

Joey doesn't respond for a while.

"Can I split my point in half?" He asks. "They're both so creative and both have so much imagination. Please?"

Yugi and Yami look at each other. They nod simultaneously. Joey gives them a thumb's up. Then they turn to each other.

"I guess this is it." Yugi says through the mind link. He turns, about to close the mind link, when Yami stops him.

"We still have to confess to each other, remember?" Yugi nods. They come back to the real world.

"Let's say them together. On three." Yami says, pretty sure they are about to confess the same thing. Yugi, who has no idea, stares at Yami in confusion, but nods in agreement anyway. The gang reaches in, anticipating the secrets about to be told.

"We'll count you in." The gang says.

"One." Tea begins. Yami takes a deep breath.

"Two." Tristan continues. Yugi takes a deep breath.

"Three!" Shouts Joey, and Yami and Yugi both exclaim:

"I love you!"

...

"You love me too!" They both exclaim again. Yugi runs into Yami's arms, and they exchange one soft kiss. It was sweet, and so romantic. It wasn't harsh, it was perfect, especially for a first kiss. Yugi pulled back, tears in his eyes.

"Now you have to leave." He mutters softly. "I would go with you, but it would mean leaving my other friends, and Grandpa, behind..."

Yami kissed him again. "No, I'm going to stay."

"What?" Everyone else says.

"The rules are, if I leave for any reason, when I speak my name, if I haven't found someone who loves me, then I have to receive a wife in Egypt, and rule there, regardless of my opinion. However, if I have a lover, then we can both decide my fate. Whether I stay, or go."

"So... You can stay?" Yugi asks, hopefully. Yami nods, and Yugi jumps into his arms, giving him a big hug.

"Let's go, guys." Yugi says, turning to the others. They yell their agreement, and together walk out of the area, and back home, leaving the portal spinning, until it closed off, for good.

I hope you enjoyed my very first fanfiction. I love Yu-Gi-Oh, so I had to make it my first one!
