Chapter 29 - Amity Much?
Chapter 29 - Amity Much?
Tobias
It's seven am when I wake up naturally, not by Indy.
"Where is he?" I ask myself.
I get out of bed and walk out to the living room only in my boxers. There I see my Tris petting Indy's belly. He looks like he's in heaven.
"Good morning." She says walking over to me. "He was going to wake you up, so I took him out here so you could sleep longer."
"Thanks." I say.
She moves closer to me resting her hands on my bare chest. All she's in is one of my T-shirts that comes just below her thighs.
We stand there in each other's embrace for what feels like forever; but it's still way too short. She looks up at me and presses her soft lips to my chapped ones. We stay like that until Indy starts barking.
I jump up and start sobbing. Indy is barking at me.
"Go away!" I yell throwing my pillow at him.
He yelps and dodges the pillow. I continue to sit there and cry. The ghost of her lips still on mine. But when I touch them and it's like her ghost has vanished then returned once I take my hand away.
I get up, take her shirt and lay down. I just cry and cry into the shirt. I don't even look up when I hear tiny feet coming into the room.
The feet stop at my bed, then he jumps up on my bed. I just keep sobbing.
He tries to fit his head in between me and the shirt, but it doesn't work.
Then he sits up and licks my face before the tears can fall. He decides that that isn't working so he just sits there.
Then he begins to whimper. He puts his head down on my lap and begins to whine.
It's like he knew her as well and is crying with me.
"Wh-what are y-you sa-d abo-ut? Y-ou ne-ver knew her." I manage to say.
He sits up and licks my face.
I just lay down and stare at the wall. I feel like she's still here somehow, somewhere.
Indy lays down on the bed next to me. He still continues to whimper.
I look at the clock. Seven am. It was the same time in my dream. I have to be in Josh's office in two hours or else they'll get curious and come to find me.
I sit up and hug Indy. It's more like I almost lay on top of him.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." I continue to say over and over.
"I should have never thrown the pillow at you. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have taken it out on you. I'm sorry. It's not your fault. I'm sorry. Your such a good boy. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." I sob.
He licks my face as if he was replying.
For once I one hundred percent now understand why Mom got me a dog.
For the times like this.

Zeke
As normal, I get up at five to work the morning shift from six till eleven am. I don't wake Shauna up becaue she doesn't have to go to work till eight, so she doesn't have to be up this early.
I get to the control room around five fourty-fiveish and sit down to begin.
It's pretty average... People messing around in the pit, beople walking through the Chasm, people leaving their apartments for work that morning. Nothing out of the ordinary. It's better if it always stays this way.

It's around nine thirty when something finally happens, but not on the cameras. Most of the Dauntless leaders including Josh and Four enter the Control Room.
My first thought is...
What did I do now?
Josh explains this whole plan and how they need to have people from the Control Room go to Erudite to work with them and cameras and other stuff.
"We will be choosing ten people to go but by volunteer first, then it will go by most experience. Any volunteers please raise your hand now." Josh says.
"I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!" I yell quoting a really old movie and trying to be, well, myself.
I gain many weird stares from the people that don't know me or that old movie, The Hunger Games, and I get chuckles from the people that either do know me or they do know The Hunger Games.
"Okay then, Zeke." Josh says shaking his head while writing down my name on a paper.
It ends up that enough people volunteer that they don't have to choose people. Four and another leader, Greg will also be going with the ten of us. I still really don't understand what we are going to be doing at Erudite though... Eh. I'll learn as I go.
"We are going to be needing you guys to pack up equipment from here and other necessities for yourselves. You will be staying there for two weeks max, so bring enough stuff. They will have cars pick everyone up in two days at eleven in the morning, they're going to give everyone access to their cafeteria for meals, and they're going to give us temporary "living quarters" as they call them for you all to stay in. Two people per quarter, so I advise you to choose who you want to room with. I think that's all. Thanks for your time." Josh says and him and the rest of the leaders leave.
Tobias
I'm so annoyed that Greg is the other leader going on this thing. I mean I know all of the stuff! Why does he have to go? He's such a difficult person to work with. He disagrees with everything I say and is going to totally ruin this important research. I was hoping Josh or Sarah was going; or at least someone I could work with.
I just hope that I'm not expected to room with him.
I'll talk to Zeke later and try to room with him. At least I won't be 100% pissed the whole time if I room with him.
Maybe Greg will be lazy and just come along as a field trip and ignore me the whole time.
Boy would that be nice...
Zeke
"Lunchtime!" I yell as I leave the Control Room for my lunch. Considering that I've done my shift, I'm actually done for the day. After lunch I'm going home to take a nap and pack.
I hope that Four isn't suppose to room with that other leader for the thing at Erudite because I don't really trust any of these people enough to go to sleep knowing that I'll wake up the next morning...
"Hey, Zeke!" I hear someone call.
I turn and see Four waving and walking towards me.
"Hey bud! Long time no see!" I wrap him in a bro hug that he immediately rejects pushing me off of him. I just laugh.
"Are you high on bread or something?" He questions laughing.
"Possibly...." I say giggling like a girl.
"Anyway, you wanna room for this trip to Erudite?" He asks.
"I thought you'd never ask! Of course!" I continue to use my girly voice.
"Ugh. Maybe I'm already re-thinking this if your going to keep talking like this for the rest of your life."
"So that Greg dude... I'm guessing he's an butt hole?" I ignore his statement and loose my girly tone.
"Yea... I still am so tipped that he has to go. I mean he's going to ruin everything! He'll question everything I say, and he'll try to do things him way. I know the whole plan, so why does he have to go? I think it's stupid."
"Yeah. Sucks."
Tobias
We finally arrive at the cafeteria and head over to our table.
George and Amar are already here and I do a double take.
Amar who use to have a black ponytail down his back no longer has hair. He's got a kind of a really, really long buzz cut. It makes him look really different, but in a good way. It's going to take some getting use to though...
It's kind of like mine, but a little shorter now that mine has grown out to its old length it had been when I met her.
"No more ponytail, huh?" Zeke says.
"Just mixing it up." He shrugs.
"It looks good. It's defiantly going to take some getting use to, but it looks good."
"I told you they'd notice!" George laughs. "You owe me a cake!"
"Sharing is caring!" Zeke yells at Amar as soon as George mentions cake.
"Since when have you transfered to Amity?" He laughs back.
Like I said; we are just a bunch of brothers who can't stand each other, but still love one another.
Yet somehow I may be the most mature out of all of us...
A/N-
Hi humans! I was hoping to update before this, but I've been pretty busy with homework, musical instrument situations (I play the piano, clarinet and tenor saxophone) and reading for this book competition that takes place in the spring for my school.
I hope I can update soon! I usually update on my spare time, and my week is pretty packed, so I'm just going to hope to update again this week!
I still have a partial writers block on this story... I know where I want it go, but I am working on how to get it there. I think I've got this fanfic finally off the ground now which is a good thing.

Let's talk about the Insurgent trailer. Personally, I never saw Evelyn that young looking, unlike Marcus actually looks like he has a son in the 18-24 range. I still love her though! She looks so badass! Uriah and Marlene... Just butterknife me now! It just... Perfection!!! *faints*
Until next time!
Stay amazing!
