'Oh, hi Will.' I replied, blushing, taken aback by the familiarity of which he greeted me. He smiled at my unease, and both to my relieve and slight chagrin he withdrawn his hands from my sides.

'You look cute when you blush.' He said smiling, taking my tray and piling it with a plate of spaghetti carbonanra, a coke and a bowl of apple crumble before paying for me as well.

'You don't have to pay for me!' I said, but Will just flashed me a smile and pulled me towards his table. I turned around to look for Hannah, not wanting to leave her alone in the lunch queue, but then she caught my eyes and winked at me, mouthing 'go on' with a shooing motion.

I rolled my eyes, typical Hannah, I looked around to make sure that our friends who we normally sits with are already at the table so she won't be alone before turning my attention back to Will.

'So guys, this is Anna.' Will put his arm around me and introduced me to his friends. They are seated at the best lunch spot next to the school fountain in their close friends groups (during summer time, when it's winter we all sit inside). His friends all looked up with interest.

I earned some evil looks from the a few cheerleaders, while the rest of his friends said hi to me nicely enough, my sister Gina and her friends were part of the group, so I felt less intimidated.

'Hi Anna, are you Will's new conquest?' one of the guys asked me, then high-fiving the guy next to him. I blushed and shook my head, Will smacked the guy's shoulder playfully who in turns pretended to be hurt.

'Shut up, that's my sister.' Gina said, not too seriously, but this caused some head turning at my direction. One of the cheerleader who gave me evils even snickered.

'Wasn't she like, ugly or something? What did you do, get plastic surgery?' I winced as she said it, Gina shot her a glare, Will frowned.

'OK, my sister did NOT get plastic surgery. It takes at least a year to recover, and it's only been 3 months since school breaks. Read much Torie?' Gina retorted logically, most people visibly relaxed at the thought that I did not had plastic surgery. Torie tried to think of a good come back while Will stepped in.

'We saw her at the mall only 2 weeks after summer starts, didn't we guys?' Will said, some of the guys nodded, Gina shot Torie a dirty look that said 'loser', while Torie shut up.

'I would like to see how someone can have a plastic surgery in 2 weeks.' Gina said victoriously, Torie tried to say something, but then decided against it and walked away with her friends with their lunch half finished.

'Don't mind Torie, she is probably just mad that you stole Will.' Said the guy who asked if I were Will's new conquest. 'I am Ethan by the way.'

I smiled at him and said hi back, before the table resumed to their lunch and conversation before I interrupted. I ate my food listening to their conversation, I didn't feel too comfortable talking out loud to them yet.

Their conversation moved from cute freshmen to Mr Canning's new hairstyle to their summers. Then Ethan turned towards me with a looked that would be completed with a light bulb.

'Anna, are you coming to Nick's party this Saturday?' He asked, everyone's head snapped to me, I nearly choked on the piece of apple crumble that I just put in my mouth. Will laughed slightly at my situation and patted my back.

'I was going to ask her before Friday when we now each other better, but since you mentioned it. Anna, would you like to go with me?' Will said, running a hand through his hair looking extremely hot, I swallowed the food and nearly choked again. Everyone's eyes widened, expecting my respond.

'Um...sure.' I said, our commotion had caused some head turning from the head turning from the other popular people close by, including Whitney and Aidan's group nearby, Nick, who was the guy that Ethan high-fived exchanged a look with Will before smiling at me.

'This year's theme is beach party, since the weather is still nice. So bikinis please ladies.' Nick said, winking at my sister in particular, who rolled her eyes but still chatted to her friends excitedly about this party.

Will turned to me, his cheeks slightly red, omg, is he blushing? He scratched his head as if contemplating what to say. 'You don't have to go to the party with me if you don't want to, Anna.' He said with his eyes down. 'Not that I don't want you to, I mean, I would love it if you would come to the party with me.' He added quickly.

'No, I want to go with you.' I said, a little too quickly too, I mentally slapped myself, so much for me acting appropriately. But Will didn't seemed to noticed, he smiled brightly at me.

'So I will pick you up at 6? We can have dinner first.' He said, I glanced over at Gina, who was eavesdropping and nodded at me.

'Sure.' I said, just then the bell rang and we all hurried into the cafeteria to put our trays back.

'Hi, I am Alison.' A really pretty Asian cheerleader that I recognised in my homeroom came up to me, she was part of the group that I sat with. I smiled and said Hi to her. 'I have never seen Will Knight blush before, he must really like you.' She said as we head towards our lockers.

'Really?' I asked, a smile creeping on my face. Alison laughed, causing several boys at the hall way to stare at her with their mouth opened.

'Yeah, gosh you two are just so cute!' She said. 'And don't worry about Torie, no one like her much, but she is always hooking up with one of the guys to stay in the group.' my eyes widened as she said that, she laughed at my expression again. 'I can't believe you are Gina and Dylan's little sister. You are too different!' She said. 'In a good way.'

I smiled at her, she seemed to be a great person, she sat down next to me in homeroom, while Hannah attacked me with questions about what happened during lunch. I stole a glance at Alison, hoping that she won't be one of those cheerleaders who despise people who don't aren't fashionable, but she was talking to one of her cheerleader friends.

I told Hannah about the party on Saturday and she squealed so loud that Mrs Bridgeman actually looked up from her coffee for a second. I quickly sshed her, but Hannah being Hannah just giggled some more.

The rest of the flew by quickly, history was normal and finally, in English, my friends are all in the same lesson! They were pretty shock over my make over but none of them seemed upset over it.

'Oh my god Julie, you look great!' Lisa shouted as she waved me over, hugging me tightly.

I guess it would be less confusing if I introduce you all to my friends. Although I was a nerd, but I still had some friends who I hang out with at school. There is Melissa, known as Lisa, she is a junior and an artsy person like Hannah, she is half Chinese and pretty. And then there is her boyfriend Luke, he is a swimmer and addicted to robots, a typical California guy looking dude. And my fellow geek Elizabeth, Lizzy, she and Lisa are best friends, she is tall and willowy and all shy. Oh I almost forgot Jake, he is Luke's best friend and Hannah's twin, he looked like a taller and more muscular version of Hannah, those two get along infamously well for some reason. Oh he is also kind of brainless, no offense there Jake.

We all sat together in a corner catching up while our English teacher Mrs Wilson went on and on about the poetry with her back facing us. The rest of class are being equally inattentive but she didn't seemed to notice, what's wrong with teachers in Everwood?

'Hey, who are you.' Jake asked, waking from his slumber, I saw Lisa and Hannah sigh in defeat while I rolled my eyes.

'Jake, it's Julie.' Luke elbowed him and whispered-not-too-quietly, Jake's eyes widen as if someone's poured cold water down his face.

'No way, she doesn't look like that.' Jake said, he ruffled his hair and took off Lizzy's glasses putting them on, the couch down a little. 'she look like this.' he said, all of us stared at him before bursting into fits of laughter.

'It's really me, Jake.' I said, Jake tilted his head in confusion, at least he recognised my voice, god he is really just hilarious. Lizzy got bored and took her glasses back, the rest of class passed quickly as we laughed at Jake as he slowly came into turns with the fact that I really am Julie.

Last lesson was Drama, which I had with Jake and Melissa. Mrs Bridgeman told us that she expect us all to audition and help in this year's spring production, run in association with the English society – Romeo and Juliet.

'At least it's not the Slaughter house two.' Melissa whispered, last year's play was something called the Slaughter house, where we were force to dressed up as cattle, chickens and pigs (being lowly freshmen, no one else wanted to do it) and talked about what it's like being in an animal farm and waiting to be slaughter. I admit it raise worth-while issues, but who would bothered to watch it? In fact, except for friends and families, no one bothered to came.

On the first day we only have 10 minutes of our first period, then we were all ushered into the gym where all the clubs and societies in the school had set up little stores advertising themselves trying to get people to join them. Our town is a rich neighborhood and so our school loves to promote after school activities.

I had never joined any societies in the school before, mainly because I would much rather go home and read or something, but Gina specificity told me yesterday that it's essential to get involve in as many school activities as you can without bring your grade down, if you want to be popular or more importantly, have a good college application.

I suppose she is right, but I am so not joining cheer leading. I hate sports, and watching sports while flipping your legs or pompoms in short skirts isn't any better.

There were dozens of stalls in the gym, half of them are sports team, Luke had gone to help out in the swim team already. Being a drama student automatically put me in the drama society, but being a sophomore it wasn't mandatory for me to help out, so I just milled around from stall to stall with Hannah, Lisa and Lizzy.

Lizzy was soon dragged away as we went pass debating society, one would have never thought she was good at it since she is so shy, but she is. We went pass the cheer leading's stall where tons of freshman were lining up to sign up for audition, Alison spotted me and came over.

'Anna, want to join cheer leading? It's not too late, I can write your name in for you.' She said, I smiled but shook my head.

'I am no good when it comes to sports, Gina can prove that I am about as good as a granny.' I told her, she laughed at my simile and headed back to help out. Lisa and Hannah didn't realised that I stopped and had disappear off into the crowd of people. Great, I am all alone now.

I wondered around the stalls for a bit, then caught sight of Will and wondered if I should go over and say hi, but he spotted me too and waved me over. I looked up at the store, 'Student Council', figures.

'Anna, we are one sophomore short in the committee, you should join.' he said as I came into the front of the stall, there were a couple of people behind me, the school council members I presumed, one of the guy who I recognised as the president came forward enthusiastic, looks like they are really in need of a member.

'School Council looks brilliant on your CV, college application, and if you join you get to help organise all the school dances and fairs.' the president said, sounding very much like a walking advertisement. 'And we have a meeting once every Wednesday after school.' he added.

Only once a week, hm...that sounds OK, Will nodded at me in encouragement. I love the dances and fairs, they were great fun, I hesitated for a few seconds before signing up. The president gave out a relieved sigh and rushed off somewhere. I felt a little cheated now, if this is such an easy job, why was he so desperate?

'Don't worry Anna, I will be there.' Will seemed to have read my thought and said, I smiled at him, yeah, at least I get to look at a hot guy. Will's hand suddenly flew up and cupped my cheek and lean forward. Oh my god, he isn't going to kiss me? Is he? What should I do, I don't feel like we know each other well enough yet, I mean, we are not even going out yet!
