Jake sat in the living room while we sat in the small kitchen drinking coffee, "my girls are ok" she smiled as tears once more slipped down her cheeks.

I sat for ages, listening to Clara explain everything again but this time to Veronica, I was asked several questions along the way but nothing big, she kept looking at our faces as if she'd never seen them before, "you are identical" she laughed as she reached her hand over to our chins and squeezed them as if we were dolls.

"Duhhh" I giggled,

"No I mean, you've both had full 18 years to change the way you look or cut your hair but you look the exact same except that Vanessa has highlights" she explained.

"And that Vanessa restrained on getting a nose job" Jake called from the other room making us all laugh, "You're beautiful just the way you are" Clara smiled.

"Why didn't you try keep us? Even if we would have had a bad childhood" Veronica spoke up changing the conversation with a snap of her fingers, "she's explained it Veronica" I Whispered harshly, not wanting to sound rude, "no it's fine you deserve to know" she said.

"You already know that your father left and I was to mind you on my own, my parents weren't on board at all and didn't agree with the way I had planned to raise you two, which was to take one day at a time." She explained as I watched Veronicas shoulders tense up. "And as much as i hate to admit it, my parents were right, I couldn't afford to feed you guys and I couldn't even go to school most of the time because I didn't even have enough money to send you guys to daycare" she sighed, I examined the fact that Veronica was listening very carefully, "I began to think about my future and your future and neither looked good"

"So? You could have turned it around" Veronica interrupted, "it's not that easy sweetie cause trust me I would have in a second" Clara smiled sympathetic as she placed her hand on top of Ronis but she pulled it away and placed it on the opposite side of her coffee cup and took a long awkward sip.

"One day one of you guys caught a bug and I couldn't even afford to bring you to a doctor so that was one of the many reasons, Steven, your father lost contact with me and I pretty much fell into a depression, my parents disowned me and my siblings wouldn't speak to me. There were several times where you guys would cry in hunger and you would weigh the same as when you were first born, I couldn't get diapers so I used clothes for a while which I would just clean over and over again. I was too young to feed you myself So milk from the fridge was the best I could do but you reacted badly to it so formula had to be added to the shopping list. I realized one night that I was basically torturing you Guys by trying to keep you to myself which was beyond selfish so I had to do the right thing and give you guys to a family that would feed you, change you and care for you in ways that I couldn't" she explained as even more tears stained her cheeks but Veronica wasn't having it and knocked her chair over as she got up in anger.

"You mean she went to a family that would love her and feed and care for her whereas I was dragged around the country and when the day finally came where I was adopted I cried even more at night knowing that I would most likely die in that psycho lady's house from starvation" she shouted, "I was bullied to the point where I begged my social worker to let me drop out to find my mother which the woman who adopted me told me you were dead" she cried with tears streaming down her roses cheeks, "my life wouldn't have been as bad as it is now" she stormed out of the room and locked herself in the spare room.

I ran after her but I was too late, the door wasn't gonna open for anyone, "leave her in there for a while, she needs some space" Clara explained to me so I made Jake leave to go somewhere else to shop or something so I could take the chance to FaceTime Karen.

"Hello Vanessa" she smiled with John's head close to hers, "Are you guys back together?" I asked kind of hopefully, "no" they said in unison as they separated their heads,

"Karen I have a favor to ask, well not really a favor but a really important need" I asked, "if it's money no because you just spent 700$ on a new phone, but anything else I'll think about" she smiled.

"I found my sister, my twin and she's had it rough, she's had a pretty shit childhood due to foster care and adoption" I began but Karen cut me off in less than a second, "any relative of yours is always welcome, I'll go set up the spare room, when are you coming?" She asked hopefully, "tomorrow" I smiled, finally, I felt loved and appreciated by her, not like I wasn't wanted, "her names Veronica and she's shy so please don't stampede her with questions"

I hung up and ran up to the spare room where the door continued to be locked, "Veronica can you please let me in?" I begged, "I have exciting news!" I said, I heard the door unlock , she slowly opened the door and looked at me, I pulled her in for a warm hug as her wet cheeks dried off my jumper.

"Don't be sad, it's over now and you're coming to stay with me, permanently" I smiled as her face lit up, "You're 18 so you now so it's your choice" I smiled as she tightened her hug, I couldn't tell if she was happy or upset but either way I had her now and she had me.

Clara stayed downstairs, taking Veronica's argument as a reality, she felt horrible but I didn't want Veronica to know, not right now at least.

Jake managed to get a guy to tow his truck back to LA with our luggage inside so it would be a cheap flight, it would take a while to get our stuff back to LA but the guy explained that he would take 4 Days max which suited all of us. We stayed overnight with Clara cause she had two bedrooms and a couch, she slept on the couch, jake and I in her double bed and Veronica in the spare room. She brought us out to breakfast at ihop before we'd have to go to the airport, I said my goodbyes which concluded of a tight hug and telling Clara I'd call once a week, Jake promised he'd look after us and gave her a hug, next came Veronica.

"I'm sorry" Clara said as a moment of silence passed as Veronica took her time to forgive her but thankfully it resides in a long hug.

"Ok once again none of us are next to each other, mind your passports and boarding passes and don't lose them, the flight will be 7 and a half hours long and there'll be TVs so have fun" I explained,

"Thanks mom" Veronica laughed again. I had a small carry on that had my diary's, Jakes medical pills which we now thankfully had a permit for, Veronica's weird creepy doll and toothbrushes and toothpaste.

The time came where we were to board the plane, I could see how nervous Veronica was so I tried my best to find us seats next to each other so we were the last two to board the plane, I made sure of it, I Asked the flight attendant if she could sort it out and she got the guy next to me to move, Veronica let out a sigh of relief. We sat back and I showed her how to use the small screen and handed her Bluetooth earphones cause they were better than the shit ones the plane gave you for free.

The plane took off and I've never had someone hold on as tight on my hand as she was, I squeezed back to reassure her, she asked me hours worth of questions throughout the flight.

"Yes it's very hot in LA"

"No, not everybody knows someone famous"

"No it doesn't ever snow"

"It rains maybe 10 times a year"

"Yes I live in the center of LA"

"No, I've always lived in LA"

"School is a breeze"

"I only found out I was adopted two years ago"

"No I hate them"

"Yes you have to wear sunscreen everyday"

"No it doesn't get cold in the summer"

"No we don't have a pool"

"Yes our school does have a pool"

"No my granny's crazy"

"No i've never met our father"

"Yes of course I'm in love with Leo" I laughed, but he let Rose live so I loved him a little less.

We binge watched half a season of Friends on our TVs which I ended up falling asleep to a few times but I was woken up by the food cart passing which made me more awake than ever.

Veronica says Jake came over to us and saw that I was asleep so he just talked to her for a while until an announcement was made so he had to go back to his seat, I ended up sleeping naturally for about 4 hours and when I woke up we were home. I pulled out my phone and started tweeting,

'@ChloeHeart come pick me up from LAX I want you to meet someone' I forced Veronica to take a selfie with me so I could post it, and in seconds Chloe responded,

'@VanessaAnderson stay there bitch! It's been too long! I'll be outside in half I need to get out of school'

'@ChloeHeart I'll make the call'

'That's My best friend! @VanessaAnderson'

I rang up greenlake high and once again pretended to be Chloe's mom, giving her permission to leave.

We had no bags to collect so we just went for lunch, "I'm so hungry" I laughed, "I haven't eaten in DAYS!!!" I over exaggerated, making Jake trust catch me, "time zones" jake smiled as he made me stand back up,

"Veronica get yourself a boyfriend who'll drop everything in a second to get you food" I snarled sarcastically at Jake, "Veronica get a boyfriend that will travel with you across America" he kissed my cheek and put his arm around my shoulder, "Yeah and that too" I added.

"Cheesy" I heard a too familiar voice shout after us, "you know, we come from the land of cheese" I laughed running as fast I could towards Chloe, I jumped and she jumped and she dropped her keys and I dropped my backpack. "You bitch! You ditched me in school with Aubrey" she laughed giving me a peck on my cheek, "that's me for you"

"Jake!" She smiled as they gave each other an awkward hug, "next time when you're leaving the state for two months tell me" she laughed, "and you must be the one and only twin sist- oh Jesus" she said shocked as Veronica looked up from her phone, "that's me" Veronica answered but Chloe pulled her in for a hug anyway "Vanessa must have told you all about me" she flipped her hair, "pretty much the entire plane ride" Roni giggled.

"Right, let's go home"
