Chapter 11: the freeing of the mind of Théoden
Pov narrator
"You are not alone, Mellon nin. There will always be someone there for you, friend or parent, light or dark. You are never alone; follow the stars and think about the good times you have. Let them lead you to the person you become, who you are, and who you have been. You have many who love you, little star. Always." - Saph
You and the others align with Gandalf rode to Eldora, Gandalf telling you about the king's kind being overthrown. You sighed as when you entered the city you were met silence. Deafening silence. You leaned your head on Aragorn's back as you sat behind him on the horse. As you entered the gate of Edoras, a lonely ragged flag with the sigil of Rohan floated slowly down. Both you and Aragorn looked at it in silent confusion. the inhabitants were completely silent when you rode in, just staring like corpses. you shuddered, not liking the feeling of many eyes on you. "They're just curious, Daenyrs," Aragorn said from the front of the horse. I nodded and tightened the roof around his waist. I could feel him smile at my action. It made me smile. Soon we went up the stairs, and one of the top guards met us. I could swear I had seen him before, but I had never heard his name. "I can not let you so arm in front of Theoden King, Gandalf grayhame," the guard said,
Gandalf looked at us and nodded, a way of saying we should give up our weapons. I gave my guards my sword and my bow. My cold eyes or so cold I could get them burned into the innocent eyes of the young guards. They did not meet my eyes and hurried to take my weapons. After a while, all our weapons were taken, all except Gandalf's staff. I smirked. I knew what would happen.
"your staff," the head guard said and gestured towards the white staff in Gandalf's hand. "You do not want to take from an old man his walking stick, do you?" he said and put on the act of innocence, and Legolas took his free arm. The guard considered a few minutes before he nodded and let us in.
