≈ Reader's POV ≈

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* *BE-

*CRASH*

"Ugh! It's too early!" I complain rolling over in my comfortable bed.

I had to stay up late yesterday to finish an assignment and had barely gotten 2 hours of sleep and now my stupid alarm decides to go off. Tch, like I'm really going to get up now. I look at my phone since my alarm clock was broken, again, and saw that it was 6 am.

"Thirty more minutes." I told myself.

Finding a comfortable position within the confines of my warm bed, I went back into my peaceful slumber known as sleep.

♦ Time Skip ♦

"Ngh. What time is- WHAT IN THE WORLD!?!?" I shoot out of bed and groan.

I planned to sleep in for only thirty minutes but instead I slept in for an hour and thirty minutes. The irony sucks... School or what ever starts at 7:45 so I have literally fifteen minutes to get ready and get there. Not that I care too much anyways.

I wash my face, put my hair into simple high pony tail, put on the uniform, and head downstairs to get something to eat. I then pop a bagel into the toaster, grab my school bag along with my phone, grab the bagel, and walk out the front door. I live alone in a small house since my parents are usually away and I got really bored. Japan seemed like a cool place to check out so, here I am.

Walking at a slow pace to school, I listen to music and block everyone out. Some people stop and stare with looks of pity and confusion. Confusion might come from me wearing a boys uniform. I don't have a problem with girl clothing but I'd rather kiss a frog than wear some short skirt to a school full of perverted guys, plus, pants are just more comfortable and easier to move in. The uniform consists of dark colored slacks, a white long sleeved button down shirt, a navy blue tie, and a navy blue over shirt/vest. My sleeves are folded up to my elbows as well as the over shirt and the bottom is left hanging down.

I see the school, Namimori Middle School, not too far away so I change the song and put my phone back in my pocket. It's already 8:15 so school has definitely already started. It didn't take me long to get ready so it must have been the walk and the pace I was walking.

I walk through the gates and groan when I remember I don't know what my classes are or where the stupid office is. I continue walking inside and see a boy with short black hair and sharp grey eyes. I notice the Discipline Committee band on his arm and just ignore it. He seems to be glaring at me so I sigh and take out one of my ear buds.

"Do you need something?" I ask, annoyed that he's still glaring.

"Herbivore, you're late and phones aren't allowed on school grounds. Kamikorosu." He says.

He charges at me with tonfa's making me snicker. He swings one at my head and I move back a bit with my hands in my pockets. He growls and swings toward my stomach. I move to the right and side step around him before continuing to walk forward.

"Hey, do you know where the office is Mr. Zombie? Looking for it is annoying." I asks.

Seeing me completely by pass him, he growls and charges at me again. I sigh at his persistence and block them with my bare hand. I smirk a bit and turn my head to face him.

"You talk about rules yet you have weapons on school grounds and attack an unarmed student. Either way, if you show me to the office, I'll fight you after school if you like. You seem like fun~." I propose.

He simply goes 'Hnn' at my offer and starts walking. I follow and put my hands back into my pockets. I like fighting but I hate annoying people. It's already 8:45 and I still haven't even gotten my classes yet. At least I have a fight to look forward to.

He takes me to the office and walks off. After I get my classes, the office lady tells me to not be late again or else I'll get detention. I don't reply and walk off looking for the class. She looked as pale as a sheet when she saw that kid drop me off and even more so when I told her I was new, so why is she trying to act all calm and cool at the last minute. It's just pathetic.

I finally find my class and knock on the door. Someone, who I assume is the teacher, opens the door and gives me a shocked look.

"Oh, you must be the new student. But why are you so late?" She asks.

"I ran into a few things, that's all." I reply.

She lets me inside and tells me to introduce myself. Everyone stares at me and I can feel myself getting annoyed. Why they might be staring, I'm in the boys uniform, I still have one ear bud in, my hands are still in my pockets, I'm an hour or so late, and I have long red hair. Red hair may not be too unusual, but my hair is literally blood red, and my eyes are also red. Not red like I've been crying or something either, the color is actually red.

"Hey, my name is Toni. I'm new to living in Japan but I've been here before. Hope we get along." I say with grin and bow.

I can hear some of the boys whispering things like 'she's hot' or 'I hope she likes me' and it just annoys me to no end. The girls are whispering things like 'who does she think she is' and 'why is she is the boys uniform'. I decide to make a my normal impression and answer the young ladies question.

"As I said already, I'm Toni. And as for my clothes, I prefer pants and shorts rather than loose skirts that show your underwear with just a gentle breeze." I grin.

She stares at me in shock and some others glare at me. More weaklings pushing out their chests, great~. I then went take a seat in the back and put in my other ear bud. I feel like someone's watching me so I look out of the window and barely catch a glimpse of a black fadora with an orange strip.

'Don't tell me he's here! Beauty, there goes my little pass time activities.'

"Toni, can you answer the questions on the board please." The teacher asks, catching me not paying attention, not like I was hiding.

Without taking out my ear buds, I turn to the board and answer all of them correctly. She looks shocked but I just put my head back down on my desk. Class is boring, I should've taken that other assignment.

♦ Time Skip to Lunch time since Toni went to sleep during class ♦

The bell rings and everyone gathers around my desk, bombarding me with questions. I answer a few until they keep on asking so I glare at them, making them leave me alone. I open my bag and grab my bento when a girl short golden brown hair and bright honey eyes comes up to my desk. She has an innocent and caring glow so I decide to replicate it.

"Hi! My name is Sasagawa Kyoko, but you can just call me Kyoko. Do you want to join my friends and I for lunch?" She offers.

"Hey, I'm Toni. I'll take you up on your offer. You look like a nice girl, Kyoko." I reply.

She laughs and leads me up to the roof. I sense Sky, Storm, Rain, and Sun flames coming from the roof as well as Cloud flames in the distance. The Cloud flames came from that kid this morning, so who's his boss? Kyoko opens the door to the roof and walks over to a group of students already eating.

"Toni, this is Tsuna, Takeshi, Gokudera, and my older brother Ryohei. Guys, this is Toni." She introduces.

I simply say 'hi' and sit down. This is the group with the flames I sensed earlier so I analyse them ab bit while I'm eating. Takeshi is rain with his relaxed nature, Gokudera is storm, Ryohei is sun, and Tsuna is sky even though he looks so frail and weak.

"H-Hi, you're the new girl from out class aren't you?" Tsuna asks.

"Uh-huh." I reply still eating.

"HEY STUPID GIRL!! YOU BETTER RESPECT JYUDAIME WHEN HE'S TALKING TO YOU!" Gokudera shouts.

"What, is he your boyfriend or something?" I raise an eyebrow and smirk.

He growls in return and pulls out some dynamite. Tsuna tries to calm him down and Takeshi laughs it off. Ryohei says something about extreme and Kyoko and I talk for a bit, ignoring the group. I sense something behind me so I quickly turn around and block a tonfa.

"Why are you crowding Herbivores?"

"Gom-Gomenesia Hibari!" Tsuna stutters.

"Hehe. I thought I said I'll fight you after school kid." I say with a smirk.

The group looks at me with surprise and worry before something hits Tsuna on the head.

"Ciasso Toni!" Reborn says.

I growl and pinch at him, which he caught. Lighting my hand on fire, he quickly lets go and jumps back.

"What is it Reborn!? The last time you talked to me you sent me on a boring assignment!" I shout.

"Wha. You know Reborn, Toni?" Tsuna asks wearily.

"Dame-Tsuna! You should be able to recognize another flame user. I see we will have to study this later." Reborn says, tilting his hat over his eyes and grinning.

I kick Reborn and he lands softly on the ground a few feet away. I glare and he smirks. I was about to attack him again before I'm stopped with a tonfa.

"Herbivore, you're my opponent and you're disturbing the peace. Kamikorosu."

"Yeah yeah, and what's up with you and trying to eat everyone anyway, Mr. Zombie?" I retort.

The bell rings, signaling the end of lunch so we all head back to the hell hole called class. I lean my head back on arms and stretch my legs out with my ear buds still in. I already know all of this so it's like second nature, which is why this is so boring to me. I notice that Tsuna keeps on looking at Kyoko and then blushing so I know he has a crush on her. I glance at the clock and sigh. This is going to take forever.

♦ Time Skip because class is boring at the moment ♦

It's the end of school so I go up to the roof. For some reason, Tsuna and the gang came as well which annoyed me. Once I get up to the roof, I see that Hibari is ready and has his tonfa's out with Reborn on the side.

"Are you ready Herbivore?" He asks.

"Yup. Are you Mr. Zombie?" I reply.

He runs up to me and swings at my head. I duck and move slightly to the left. He swings again so I move back and smirk. I'm simply toying with him and I know he's noticed. He runs up to me again and swings his tonfa from above. I put up my forearm and block it with ease. Grabbing his arm, I kick him on his side and toss him over me. He lands on his feet and continues to attack.

Tsuna looks worried, Gokudera looks slightly surprised, Takeshi looks impressed, Ryohei is cheering me on, and Reborn is simply smirking. He knows that I'm toying with him so he's semi-impressed. Hibari must have gotten agitated because he let his Cloud flames go to his tonfa's. Charging toward me, I teleport behind him, grab his collar, and throw him into the wall.

"You're pretty good, especially for a beginner. Although, you still have a long ways to go." I say and turn to the group.

≈ Tsuna's POV ≈

'Toni just beat Hibari!! How strong is she?!'

"Why didn't you use your flames Toni?" Reborn asks with his signature smirk.

"Because I didn't feel like killing him. And what's up with you? I know you're tutoring the next Vongola boss and all but still." She asks.

"Wait, you know about the mafia Toni?" I ask.

Reborn the kicks me and sends me to the wall saying 'Dame-Tsuna'. Toni shakes her head and sighs.

"He's the next boss? Still needs a lot of work. More than the guardians actually." Toni says.

"HEY! HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT JYUDAIME BAKA ONNA!!!" Gokudera yells while throwing dynamite.

She flicks her hand and all of the bombs are cut in half. We all look at her in shock, making her sigh again. Reborn jumps down from my aching head and walks to Toni.

"How would you feel about helping me tutor Dame-Tsuna and becoming their True Flame Guardian Toni?" He asks her.

'True flames? What's that? And why is he asking her to help tutor me!?!?'

"How would you feel about me killing you and wearing your hat as a prize? He's too weak and his guardians are all out of order. You're telling me to start from scratch, you know that don't you?" She says, her eyebrow twitching.

"I know you can do it. Besides, don't you like challenges?"

"Tch. Yeah whatever. Fine, but you owe me big time, got it? And if I even think that you have a hidden agenda including me, I'm taking your hat!"

"Same old Toni." Reborn says.

Toni then turns toward us and asks us something about True Flames. We look at her confused and she tries to punch Reborn again.

≈ Reader's POV ≈

"ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDING ME REBORN!!! THEY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING!!!" I shout.

He smirks and we talk for a bit. If they don't even know about the true flames, then they really are new to this. Sure its rare, but they should've at least heard of it through legends and stories. I throws my hands up and we begin to walk out of the school. I stay in the back of the group and Tsuna soon matches my pace.

"Yeah, sorry about all of this." He says scratching the back of his neck.

"It's fine. You just have a lot to learn still so I'm going to kill Reborn by the end of this. He already knows it too so that's why he's staying away from me." I say pointing at Reborn staying at the opposite side of the group.

"Hehe. You're friends with Kyoko, right? Has she.. said anything about me?" He asks while laughing nervously.

"So, let me get this right. You're not good academically or physically, you don't have social skills, you have a crush on the schools idol, you have her brother as one of you guardians, and then you ask if she said anything about you? Jeez, have you even tried to confess yet?" I ask.

He looks away and stays silent so I sigh. Reborn definitely took on Mission Impossible if he's trying to make this kid the Vongola Decimo. Even if we're the same age, I'm still going to call him a kid since he lacks experience with the mafia. And now I'm dragged into it too! Yup, Reborn has dug himself a very deep grave.

"I'm going to regret this, but there is one way to help you here. If you gain enough courage to confess to Kyoko, you have a much better chance of not dying before High School and I would've helped Reborn tutor you in a way." I tell him.

"So, you'll help me confess to Kyoko!?" He asks with stars in his eyes.

"Didn't I just say that?!"

He cheers and gives a tight hug. My eyebrow twitches and I punch him on the head.

"Do you always go around hugging girls?! Maybe that's why Kyoko doesn't know about your feelings! Stupid Sawada!" I say dragging him back to the group.

'What have I gotten myself into? Maybe I should've just woken up on time this morning. No, Reborn here too so it would've happened either way. At least I got to fight Mr. Zombie. But what to do with this hopeless romantic...'

≈ 3rd POV ≈

Toni continued to drag poor Tsuna by the collar to the rest of the group, contemplating on her next moves. Little did she notice the Arcobaleno watching her with a curious but knowing smirk. He had a plan that he just started, but he wouldn't tell her that. He wanted to see how this would all play out in the end.
