..:< Going Crazy - 15 >::..
I was watching Netflix on the TV that David had set up in my room. Originally, it was in his, but he said since he mostly uses the one in the living room, I could have this one for myself. Taking another bite out of my cookie dough leftover from earlier, I looked over at the clock. It was already one in the morning. I guess I had been on a binge of Disney movies for longer than I thought.
During my favorite scene of Hercules, I heard a tapping noise coming from somewhere in my room. I paused my movie, and my singing, to make sure I wasn't hearing things. When another tap occurred, I looked toward my bedroom window and saw pebbles bouncing off the glass. I groaned at the thought of leaving my comfy bed to investigate, but I knew I had to or else it wouldn't stop. I sulked out of my bed and crept to the window, careful not to present the fact that I wasn't wearing pants. Thankfully, my big Stitch t-shirt covered what it needed to.
I opened up the glass and as soon as I peaked outside, none-other than Liam Warren was outside my bedroom window, about to chunk another pebble in my face. He stopped mid throw when he met my annoyed expression. He guiltily looked at me, then the pebble, then back at me, dropping the pebble.
"This would've made a lot more sense if you lived in a two story house, but I've just always wanted to do this. So I had to work with what I got." He jested, throwing his hands up.
I kneeled by my windowsill and rested my face in my hand. "Liam?" I questioned sarcastically, "What in the absolute hell, are you doing at my house, at one in the morning?" I had begun to think letting him take me home the other day had been a bad idea. It was only a matter of time before he abused the knowledge of knowing where I lived.
Looking him up and down, I noticed he was dressed very casually. Wearing a plain grey t-shirt and sweatpants. And even though it was pitch black outside, the illumination from my room still allowed me to see his adorable face.
Fuck, I'm doing it again.
"Well, I couldn't sleep, and I was bored, and I wanted to see if you would want to go out with me? Like outside with me?" He asked like a cute little begging puppy. Who says no to a cute puppy?
Before answering his offer, I had another question. "How did you know this was my room? I don't recall telling you which one it was."
Liam smirked evilly, "That part was a little worry-some. At first I thought I'd have to guess, but then I just followed the sound of someone singing 'I Won't Say I'm In Love' and found myself figuring out your room."
My eyes widened and my cheeks became hot. Not only was it embarrassing that Liam heard me singing, but why did it have to be that song? What kind of coincidence is that?
A stupid one that didn't mean anything. That's what kind.
I attempted to turn my bashfulness into sarcasm and rolled my eyes, "Whatever, weirdo. I'm just embracing my love for Disney while you're over here being Creepy Peepy and stalking me!" I accused.
Liam laughed and held a hand out, "So, Miss Disney fanatic, do you trust me?"
Okay, okay, I admit it was smooth of him to use the iconic Aladdin line on me. But that didn't mean that I was going to sneak out with this cutie in the middle of the night.
Oh who the hell am I kidding, yes I was.
"Fine." I gave in with little fight. "Just give me a minute to... get ready." I was turning around, about to stand up, when I remembered what little clothing I had on. I looked back over at Liam, "Just turn around and give me a minute."
Another smirk smeared onto the boy's lips, as he shrugged and did as I said for once.
I hurried away from the window, not sure if Liam would try to sneak a peak. When I was safely out of view, I scavenged my dresser for a pair of jeans while wondering what kind of night this guy was about to pull me into. I checked my hair in the bathroom and decided it would be best pulled up in a bun, but as I started to do that-
"But I like your hair down."
"Holy!-" I began to shout before Liam was quickly behind me covering my mouth.
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you, but we don't want to wake anyone up do we?" Liam nearly whispered in my ear, sending an uncomfortable chill down my spine.
Frustrated, I licked the hand covering my face. Sadly it didn't phase him, but he pulled away anyway. When I turned around exasperated about to ask Liam if he was crazy for entering my bedroom, he put a finger to my lips and defended himself by saying, "I counted to sixty."
I rolled my eyes at the insensitivity and shooed him back toward the window. "Whatever I'll keep my hair down, let's just get out of here."
Before I stepped out the window, I looked back in my room again. "One sec," I ushered to Liam as I hurried over to my dresser and grabbed my camera. You never know when you'll need it.
Stepping outside my window, Liam held a hand out to help me. For a second I thought about rejecting it and making a sarcastic comment, but instead I refrained for once and took the offer. Then I even thanked him.
Liam smiled sweetly, noticing my change of character. Our hands stayed together for a few moments, until I nervously pulled away. "So uh, where we gonna go?" I questioned.
Looking upset for a moment when I released his hand, Liam shrugged his shoulders. "I'm not sure, I honestly didn't think you'd come out of your room." He said while scratching the back of his head.
"Well then," I announced, "Let's go crazy."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And crazy we went.
I wasn't sure how fast we were going, but my cares were flying out the window too fast for it to matter. The nights air was blowing through my hair and my face held a huge smile. We sped passed car after car, owning the highway. I looked over at Liam in the driver's seat, who was also smiling as we raced down the roads.
I lost myself staring at Liam, examining all his features. The blonde stubble on his defined jaw, his light blue eyes, and how kissable his lips looked...
That's it, I give up. This guy drove me insane in all the right ways.
When Liam noticed I was gawking, he gave me a twisted grin. He knew exactly how he made me feel, and he was milking the hell out of mocking me until I admitted it out loud. I will confess, the joking flirtation when I had first met Liam was all fun and games. But now that I was actually starting to like this guy, I worried if it was all still a joke to him. All the teasing and smooth comments, they had to mean something right?
I attempted to speak, but quickly realized how drowned out my voice was from the open windows. So I rolled mine up, and after seeing me do it, Liam did the same.
"Everything okay?" He asked, concerned, taking small pauses to look between me and the road. "Am I going too fast?"
Shaking my head I grinned, "Not at all, I'm having a blast risking my life for a little fun." I joked.
"You think this is risking your life?" He retorted. "Try going into a gang bust with weapons drawn praying to god that no one has the intention of gunning you down at first sight." Liam protested and I couldn't tell if he was serious or not.
I pursed my lips and worried for a moment, "Have you actually been in that situation before?" I questioned.
He gave me a raised brow, then a smile slipped, "No. But my father has."
Rolling my eyes, I scoffed. "Ah, so that's why you're a cop. Following your daddy's footsteps?" I asked sarcastically even though really I was genuinely curious to know some more about how Liam got where he was today.
"Hell yeah." Liam confirmed, "My dad was an amazing cop. Busted so many bad guys, aided so many people in need. I could only hope to be as half as good as the officer he was."
I looked at the young man with even more respect then I already had. "I'm sure you will be that and greater." I said softly with the most genuine sincerity I ever showed towards him.
Liam chuckled, then gave me a curious sideways glance. Without saying anything else, he laid his hand between us, and I immediately felt my face get red. With little hesitation, I put my hand in his, and let his fingers clasp around mine. We both said nothing and just let the roar of the engine fill the silence as we continued driving, now at a more reasonable speed.
It bugged me how flustered I got around him, he made me feel like a little girl with a middle school crush and I didn't like it. Yet there was another part of me that enjoyed the butterflies and the way he made my heart race.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not realizing I had dozed off until my eyes were fluttering open, I noticed we were back in front of my house. My hand was still wrapped in Liam's and I had absolutely no complaints. Looking over at Liam I saw that he had also dozed off, I assumed he has passed out while waiting for me to wake up. I read the clock on the dashboard, it was 4 o'clock in the morning.
Even though David wouldn't be waking up for a couple more hours, my paranoia was telling me to get back to my room. I attempted to pull my hand away from Liam's grip, but my sudden movement instead caused the boy to awaken. He groggily wiped his eyes with his free hand and looked towards me blinking harshly multiple times until his blue eyes stayed open.
"Trying to run away already, princess?" He queried, fighting a yawn. It was amazing how Liam could be just waking up, and yet still have the energy to tease me. He looked down at our hands, then curiously back up at me. "I'm sorry, were you wanting this back?"
I gave a sweet smile as I finally pulled my hand away. Liam gave me a heart-wrenching puppy dog face and I nearly caved into staying a little longer. Instead, I opened my door and forced myself out. Liam followed suit.
He met me in front of the car and we both stepped through the dewy grass to the side of the house that my room was on. The moonlight overhead illuminated us just enough to see each other as we walked. "Don't be too sad, you'll see me later today, dork. We have the photography club." I barely said as a yawn escaped my mouth.
With that being said, Liam perched his head up quickly, "Hey, maybe since it'd be pretty convenient, I could pick you up? Ya know, carpooling. Saving the environment and stuff." He attempted to say cooly, scratching the back of his head.
Now standing at my window, I smiled up at Liam. "I don't know," I began taunting, "David let's me pick the music when he takes me places." I looked at Liam with a twisted grin.
He crossed his arms and raised a brow, "I could let you do that too," returning an evil smile and letting his teasing demeanor return, "Even if I have to hear you sing Disney music again."
I rolled my eyes, "Please just be like Elsa and 'let it go'." I joked with an over-exaggerated wide mouth grin and shooting finger guns at Liam.
The boy stared at me with a blank expression as there was a moment of silence for my terribly awesome pun. Then the corner of his lip curled, "Sometimes I wonder why I like you so much."
Suddenly I felt the butterflies again and my face got hot. I pushed some hair behind my ear and nervously bit my lip, "Like me, like cops like donuts? Or like me like me?"
Liam took a step closer, erasing what little space was between us. The heat from my face dispersed throughout the rest of my body, and when he put a finger under my chin to lift my head towards his, I swore I was melting. He leaned in close to my face, and I wasn't sure if I was ready for what I thought was coming. His mouth hovered over mine for a moment, but even if I wanted to close the gap I couldn't move. Liam moved his lips up to my forehead, and laid a kiss there.
When he pulled away, his face stayed close to mine. I met his eyes, slightly confused. He seemed to force a smile.
"When's your birthday, Robin?" He asked weakly.
Oh, I understand now.
I sighed, "Still about a month away."
Liam held his head to mine. He took one hand to hold my waist, and took the other hand to hold my head as he gently played with my hair. I had my arms around his sides holding him as close as I could. If I had the choice, I would stay right here in this moment until I turned 18.
"You'll be worth the wait." He promised me as he held me tightly.
When we finally let the moment pass, Liam helped me into my window. I turned around with a sad expression, but put on a smile, "Tonight was.. nice. Thank you, Liam."
He nodded his head and held his hand to my face, gazing at me with glistening eyes, "You drive me crazy, Robin."
I grinned, "That's the first time anyone's ever said that to me with positive intentions."
Liam laid one more kiss on my head and wished me sweet dreams. I did the same and finally closed my window, ending the amazing night. I took a deep breath and fell sprawled out onto my bed. His smell still lingered on me and I couldn't get his pretty face off my mind. I looked over at the Netflix idle screen on my TV. And that was the last thing I saw before I fell asleep with the biggest smile still on my face.
