Funeral Preparations

A/N did you really think they'd just die like that? C'mon, I'm not that cruel and you've got to remember their family, it's special ^^ well! let's get to the chapter since you probably really want to read it right?

"You- I- grr"

Frustrated Phil?

"YES!! You just killed them like that and Colin! Oh god what do you have planned for him?!"

Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt my little squid boy. He just got sick from it is all

*snorts* "just get on with the story and I might forgive you"

You heard him, let's see if we can make things better *cracks knuckles*

Oh, and the song is called 'Midnight' by coldplay ;) just saying. Pretty good to listen to.

-----------

It was bright and sunny, the trees were in bloom. everything seemed peaceful, like there wasn't a care in the world. but that's how it always was up here.

Notch made his way trough the trees towards a clearing that had showed up days before.

It's got to be them this time he thought who else could it be? He hurried towards it.

The first thing he heard as he got closer was a singing voice.

It was soft as he walked towards it. Barely audible. But as he got closer he started making out some of the lyrics.

In the darkness before the dawn
In the swirling of this storm

He recognized the voice. He'd heard it before and recently.

Rolling round, and with apologies
And hope is gone
Leave a light, a light on

He picked up his pace

Millions of miles from home
In the swirling, swimming on

And he reached the edge. There they were, all three still sticking together after everything that happened. The twins sitting on logs and joining in occasionally as Mineral sang.

When I'm rolling with the thunder
But bleed from thorns

Leave a light, a light on
Leave a light, a light on

Leave a light, a light on
Leave a light, a light on

He stood there listening and watching. The serenity of it all washing over him.

In the darkness before the dawn
In the darkness before the dawn
Leave a light, a light on
Leave a light, a light on

They fell silent and he stepped out. All three turned to look at him.

"Uncle" Mineral said in recognition. She stood up and looking at him.

He nodded "It is nice to see you all settling in well" he said with a sad look in his eyes.

"Well" Mineral said putting on a sarcastic tone "We just love being dead and not able to see our family again. Not to mention our friends and then your guards are very nice. It was very fun being chased out of the city and out here by them because we were 'demons' "

"I- I didn't" Notch started but she put her hand up stopping him.

"but we understand" She said. Her tone was sad, almost guilty. "You wouldn't want something like us ruining your peace"

"That's not why" Notch said "It was designed for your father. He and I have agreed neither can come to each other's realms unless invited or tells the other they're coming"

"Then why did they come after us?" Mineral asked "We aren't him"

"but you are" Notch replied "You are his children. You have his DNA in you, they must have gotten you confused. We'll sort this out later, come" And he turned to leave.

"Why would you think we'd go with you?" Mineral asked "after all, it has been a while since we died and this is the first time you showed up. We actually went to your castle here with all the other recently deceased but were kicked out. 'on your orders' I believe" She stared at him. He sighed and turned back to look at them. A small smile played on his lips.

"You are so much like your father. Same fiery spirit" He smiled "But, if you three would rather stay here than coming back to the world of the living then so be it" he shrugged and turned to walk again "I cant force you to do anything" Mineral stared back at him in shock.

"W- wait" She said "wait" she looked at the twins who were staring interested. "We're coming"

Budder lay in his room staring at the ceiling trying to process everything that had happened. Jonas stopped by to visit that day and told the whole story about what really happened. About the fake, the deaths and everything in between. He didn't know how to respond and had just walked away. Now though a million different questions were flying around in his head.

What had really happened? Did that count as a break up? Where's the fake? Who had she said she was waiting for? What am I going to do?

Then a new thought popped into his head. It didn't seem like one he would have though

You can't deal with this. This world is not for you anymore.

why would I think that? Of course it is!

Is it? Everything bad that happens here happens to you. You broke up with your girlfriend who wasn't really her? What will your real one think?

She's dead.

Because you weren't there

this isn't my fault!

Are you sure?

doubt trickled into his mind. Was he sure? He shook his head

Yes, I am.

Then why do you doubt?

because of you!

How am I making you doubt. Aren't I you?

Now you're just confusing me.

Am I?

YES! Leave me alone!

Is that what you really want?

YES!

Then I shall

And there was silence. Budder waited and waited for the voice to come back. It didn't but the doubt remained.

Hoping to clear his mind he walked out onto the balcony right outside his room and looked into the night sky. There was a bright, full moon in the cloudless sky and everything was peaceful and asleep. Besides him. He was wide awake and didn't feel a wink of drowsiness. All he could think about was that voice. It seemed familiar but he couldn't place it. He was too busy thinking to notice anything else.

Something touched his back. He tried to turn around but by the time he did all he saw was that same cloudless sky looking down at him as he fell.

They kept walking. Like they had for several hours already. The forest didn't really change, it just seemed like the same thing they had been walking past the same thing over and over again on one gigantic reel that kept replaying.

"Where are we going?" Angel asked hopping around. She hadn't left her energy when they died. Mineral suspected neither of them really knew what had happened to them. She didn't plan on explaining it to them either.

"Somewhere to get you all home" Notch relpied. A shadow passed over head and they all looked up.

"Angel, Creed, get under cover" Mineral called. The two ran for the trees just as four more figures flew over head. The five landed in front of her and she pulled out her sword ready.

"Surrender" The lead said, his wings rustling as the folded to his back. His red hair spiked like the others.

"Now why would I?" MIneral said then smirked "Gingie" the red head glared.

"You know why. Now come with us and bring the other two and we'll go easy on you" The ginger said.

"ha!" mineral laughed "you go easy on us? yea, that'll happen"

He shrugged "then the hard way it is" he pulled out his sword and the other's did the same.

"Stop" Notch walked forward. "She isn't a threat"

"We can't do that" He said "We've seen her tricks before"

"how do we know you arent just another one?" One of the others said. Notch sighed and put his head in his hands.

"In what way would I be an illusion?" He asked finally.

"Any way. Her powers are strong" The angel said "Stronger than we first suspected if she can imitate you"

"I'm confused now" the one that had spoken before said. "Is he real or not?"

"Yes"

"No"

Mineral sighed. "Alright, I know you want to arrest me but I didn't do anything. That right?"

"Dead on" One of the obviously newer angels said. Several of the others snickered but the head just stared blankly at her.

"Will you come peacefully?" He asked. She shook her head chuckling.

"Not on your life. If I've done nothing wrong I shouldn't be prosecuted for it" she replied.

"Well the laws say different" The lead said "So we will have to take you and the other two by force"

Mineral glared at him "touch them and your afterlife will be gone just like your first" She pulled her dagger. She looked around for backup but by this time Notch had already left, where she didn't know but it didnt help her situation. The guards closed in around her.

"What's sissy doing?" Creed asked from the tree he and Angel were hiding in. It gave a wonderful view of the upcoming battle between their sister and the angelic guards.

"I don't know" Angel whispered "Now be quiet, I'm trying to listen"

"Sorry" Creed replied "I was just curious"

"Hey, where'd uncle Notch go?" Angel asked looking again.

"Right here" He said appearing behind them below them. Both jumped in surprise and almost fell. Notch chuckled.

"Why don't you two come down?" He called up. Creed shook his head

"Can't" Angel replied

"Are you two stuck?" Notch asked walking right underneath the tree.

"No" Creed said

"Then why cant you come down?" Notch asked confused for a moment.

"Sissy doesnt want us to yet" Angel said hanging off the branch by her feet. She was several feet above Notch as he looked up.

"She says it's not safe" Creed added "And we dont like those people. They're mean" he scrunched up his nose for emphasis.

"well, you can trust me" Notch smiled "Wouldn't you two like to go home?"

There was a silence for a moment. The twins just stared at him.

"home?" Angel asked

"You can do that?" Creed said quietly. Notch nodded and the two jumped down, gingerly creeping over. Notch lead them away. The sound of swords clashing could be heard behind them.

"Your father misses you" Notch as they walked. Angel tilted her head slightly.

"He does?" she asked. Notch chuckled and nodded

"Very much" He responded

"Then why doesn't he come visit?" Creed asked.

"he's not allowed" Notch replied.

"Why's that?" Angel asked this time. Notch stopped and looked at them, a small smile on his face.

"You two are full of questions aren't you?" he chuckled and picked them up. Angel smiled

"mamma says its our best trait" She grinned.

"Although daddy thinks its annoying sometimes" Creed added thinking. Angel nodded.

"Like when he's working"

"Or trying to sleep"

Angel snickered "Especially that one" Notch chuckled.

"You two are something else" they were near the town already. All around them there were people appearing who were recently deceased. Those who had lead a hard, but true life. Those who were good people and those who were lost too early were wandering about wondering to themselves what had happened and how they had gotten to be there. There were a lot more thank usual.

The three walked on in silence as they made their way through the crowds. Notch set the two down and lead them towards a grand palace made out of a white stone. Unlike the streets outside it was a still silence inside. It glowed in the sunlight as if made of the rays hitting it.

Inside was just as bright and beautiful. Windows letting light in were just as bright. Scenes played on the glass panes, each  showing a different picture and each one changing as soon as it came into focus.

"What're those?" Creed asked as they passed. He kept his voice low.

"Scenes of the past, present and future. They'll never focus for long though" Notch said with a sigh "apparently as a joke for a mistake I made"

"What was that?" Angel aske walking up to one. the picture changed to one of a medow full of a red flower. She smiled and reached a hand out to touch it. Notch quickly walked over and picked her up, carrying her away from the window and back down the hall.

"It's nto the best idea to touch them" He said and walked on.

"Why?" Creed asked.

"Because it's not" Notch responded.

"Why?" He asked again staring at one. Notch walked past and creed hurried to catch up again.

"Just because" Notch said with a slight chuckle. "Trust me with this one"

"Ok" creed said with a smile. Notch couldnt' help but smile back.

He stopped in front of a door and set Angel down. The twins stared at him as he took a key out and unlocked the door. He pushed it open to reveal a large, less lit room with a large portal in the middle. It was made of the same stone the castle was yet not as bright. The swirling colors inside changed with every rotation. One moment it was green, the next it was red then purple.

"What's that?" Creed asked

"your way home" Notch said and lead them inside and up to the portal.

Briar walked silently through the catacombs of the nether castle. They were a low, lifeles place. Giving that creepying feeling you might get in your grandomther's basment magnified thirty times. WIth more cobwebs and skeletons too.

She walked down the hall towards one room at the end. She could see a figure standing in the doorway looking in. With her head low she walked over and put a hand on his shoulder.

"They're gone" he said. herobrine's voice low and emotionless, his face tried to copy the tone of voice but wasnt as good.

"I know" Briar replied. She didn't bother trying to hide her pain. A tear rolled down her cheek as she looked at the two little stone coffins.

"But it wont help staying here watching either" She said. He nodded and turned to look at her. His eyes showed the pain he felt inside.

Briar gently put her hand on his shoulder and he turned away from the room. She lead him away from the room but he stopped. A sound had caught his ear. Briar stopped and looked back at him sadly.

"Honey-" She started but he vut her off by holding up a hand. Briar sighed.

"Hero, please" She pleaded "Dont go cr-" He cut her off again by shushing her.

"I heard something" He said and walked back towards the room.

"It's probably a silver fish" Briar said following him back.

"there are no silver fish in the nether!" Herobrine called back as he broke into a sprint. The noise came again. From the two stone coffins.

Herobrine stopped in the doorway and waited for a moment, listening. The noise came again.

Scritch!

Briar stood next to him. Her eyes wide as she looked at the coffins.

"daddy!" The cry was faint but they could hear it clearly. Herobrine rushed over and started pushing the lid off one of the coffins. Briar was at the other doing the same thing.

Once the lid was off he couldn't help but smile. Angel lay there smiling right back at him. He picked her up and held her close. Briar was crying behind him, clinging to Creed who was in the same state as his sister. Happy, smiling and very muhc alive.

"Dont cry" Creed said smiling. He brushed away Briar's tears.

"Why cry if nothing's wrong?" Angel asked hanging onto Herobrine with a smile. Briar smiled through the tears.

"That is a very good point" She replied "I believe we should go. You two must be hungry"

The twins nodded and the four of them walked back up together.
