The Clue
Professor Actriz
Estherela Actriz studies one of her many objects, this one was a small sphere. Green emeralds were encrusted in the sphere, and with the bright moon, it twinkled. Filling the room with many bright green lights. Like a disco ball, a muggle might think.
As she heard a slight knock on the door, Estherela set the sphere down, and with a wuick wave of her wand, the room glowed with bright warm light. "Come in." She said. At that moment the door creaked, and a girl walked in. "Good evening, Professor." Alissa Strout said with politeness.
"Good evening, Ms. Strout. If you are wondering why I have summoned you here-"
"Professor, I didn't do it! I-" Alissa began.
"It is not because you are in trouble." Estherela said calmly. She gave Alissa a small smile which Alissa returned. "I summoned you hear to tell you you did good in your interview."
"Professor, what she wrote, it's not true." Alissa tried to explain, but Estherela held up a hand.
"I believe you." She said. Professor Actriz's hair was pulled up in a bun, but some hair fell down on her face. She had stringy red hair and was wearing her favorite green robes.
"You do?" Alissa said in disbelief.
"Of course. Sometimes Ms. Skeeter can be-" Estherela made a pause to think about the word.
"Ignorant? Impulsive? Persistent." Alissa said, before she could stop herself. "Forgive me-"
"Yes. Both could fit." Estherela said with a chuckle. Alissa smiled and Estherela gave her a trouble maker lopsided grin. Estherela's smile had brought her many troubles when she was little. No one could believe a child hasn't caused the problem when you had a smile so suspicious like hers.
"I summoned you here also to tell you not to be scared- not that I think you are- of the other Champions. It is rare that the Goblet has chosen only females. And I believe he has chosen the right ones." She smiled warmly. And her lip curled at one side of her mouth. Making her look like she couldn't wait for the action.
"Thank you, Professor." Alissa said.
"And I also brought you here to give you this." Estherela slipped out a card from the inside of her robes and handed it to Alissa. She took it and gave Professor Actriz a confused look.
"It's your next clue. Think it through well and good luck."
Professor Seracoth
Ebella sat on a velvet armchair, her back straight, head held high. She gave off an aura of superiority. Swan-like, graceful, strong. She patiently waited, sneaking a look at the clock mounted against the wall, waiting for the arrival of Adelena. She'd requested to speak with her. Not only a minuet later, a gentle knock at the door. She was punctual.
"Come in," Said Ebella, her voice the consistency of that of warmed honey. Calm and soft.
And so she did. The door slowly opened, and in stepped Adelena, her crystal eyes trained on the headmistress carefully. The Door shut behind her with a faint 'click'. "You summoned me, mistress?" Said Adelena politely.
"Indeed," Ebella confirmed. "Come sit, child." She motioned to the armchair that sat unoccupied in front of her. Adelena obeyed, sitting with her legs crossed and hands laced in her lap. Ebella cut straight into discussion.
"How did your interview with Rita unfold?" Though Ebella had already read the newspaper where the interview had been printed, she wanted to hear Adelena's version. Ebella knew of Rita's antics all too tell. She'd had her fair share of interviews too.
Adelena shifted, the events of the less than lovely interview with Rita Skeeter replayed in her mind. Goodness, that women had been a handful. She sure knew how to press all the wrong buttons.
"It was, Erm, interesting..." Said Adelena.
"I bet it was. That article sounded interesting."
Adelena visibly cringed, though she tried to make it subtle. She'd read the article first thing this morning, and was appalled at how many words Rita had put in her mouth. Every sentence had been changed into something completely different, and the article was so dramatically written it was Unbelievable.
"She twisted my words," Adelena inhaled deeply. The last thing she wanted was for the head mistress to get the wrong idea about her.
Ebella surprised her when she said "I'm well aware, Adelena. That's what Rita does. She over does things." Ebella thought for a moment, thinking back to a few interviews she'd taken with Rita. They'd all been terrible, and were almost painful to look back on.
"You handled her well," though Ebella hadn't been present for the interviewing, she'd observed Adelena a few times, and could tell she hand a good handle on her temper.
Adelena wasn't sure what to say.
"I have a good feeling about you," a hint of fondness could be detected in Ebella's tone. "I'm expecting big things from you, Miss Zenore."
Adelena was caught off guard by the sudden appraisal. "Th-Thank you, Mistress," Adelena sputtered. Ebella nodded.
"You're dismissed, Miss Zenore." Ebella said, concluding their meeting. Adelena turned to head out.
"Oh, miss Zenore," Ebella called out just as Adelena reached the smooth mahogany door. She turned quickly to meet the headmistress's eyes. "I didn't remember this sooner. My apologies. Do take this card, and unseal it when you arrive back at your dorm."
A velvet blue enveloped with a shimmering gold seal materialized out of thin air in front of Adelena, floating gracefully down into her waiting fingers where she clutched in gently in her grasp. She looked back up at the headmistress.
"That is all, Miss Zenore." Ebella said.
Adelena nodded, not another word uttered as she exited the room.
