Someone You Loved: 4

"Okay, dump your belongings in here, boys rooms are on this half, girls on this half, non-binary and genderfluid students are free to choose whatever side whenever, FRIDAY will let me know if you go into the wrong rooms." Pepper opened the door and walked in to a large living space, with the opposite wall completely made of glass so you could see the view of the city. A massive, flat screen TV sat on the wall, a sound bar, remotes and all sorts of gaming devices underneath. Plush sofas circled around the tv with a soft carpet under foot. Lining the left and right room were three doors, each holding two beds, a bathroom and a wardrobe space. It was a huge place for the Decathlon team.

"Pair up and get everything you need for the tour."

The teens obliged, rushing into rooms as fast as they could with friends. MJ watched the mad scramble, waiting for the last available bed.

"MJ," Liz beckoned, "come with me."

MJ blinked, surprised. Liz wanted to share with her? She followed, throwing her bag on her bed. "Thanks."

Liz smiled and walked out, chatting to Betty as she arrived at the door.

"Okay, we all here? Good. Let's go."

They all followed after Pepper like chicks with their mother hen, talking quietly amongst themselves. MJ sped up to Pepper's side, falling in step next to the woman.

"How are you doing, MJ?"

"Not bad. I just have this nagging feeling at the back of my mind and I don't know what it is."

"Hm." Pepper frowned slightly, her neat eyebrows touching for a split second. "Try not to dwell on it too much. Whatever happens, you'll be with the Avengers."

MJ nodded and consciously relaxed her shoulders. Her posture matched Pepper's almost instantly, from the lowered shoulders to the strong strides.

Liz noticed that. It then got her thinking who would be the next CEO of Stark Industries. The Starks had a daughter, but she wouldn't be old enough until at least fifteen years. So who else would take over if Pepper and Tony needed to raise a child? An Avenger? No, too busy, Liz thought. Her eyes glanced back to MJ. It wasn't hard to imagine her with dress pants and a blazer on, papers in her arm as she strode through the building of Stark Industries. Hmm...

"This is the Avengers Museum," Pepper stated as she stopped at double doors. "A place to learn about your favourite heroes."

The double doors opened, revealing an atmosphere of a movie theatre, with the deep red carpet and dim walls. Standing in different points of the room were illuminated, life-size statues of the Avengers, surrounded by illuminated boards and protected artifacts.

Some people ran to their favourite hero while others took the route methodically and walked in a loop. Liz followed MJ and Ned as they idly walked around, peering at the information on some of the boards.

"Hey, I told you Cap lied sometimes. He cheated on his enlistment forms."

"Yeah, so he could protect his country!"

"I'm telling you, he's the one that put ice in your shoes."

"And I don't believe you."

They continued, making odd comments about each avenger as the did.

"Sheesh, Stark did not care about how much information to put on there, wow. I don't think I can read all that."

"Oh, look, they have one of Hawkeye's arrows! Woah!"

"Ned, you've played Mario Kart with him."

"Still!"

"Oh dang, Wanda's outfit is beautiful. (She now wears the one from Wandavision) Can I have it?"

"No, and I'm not going to call a lawyer if you steal it."

"Rude."

Ned gasped and grabbed MJ's arm. "Spidey!"

They both ran over to the Spider-Man exhibit. There wasn't much information to read, but the statue was certainly life-size.

"Who's taller, me or him?"

Ned stepped back. "Mmm... him, but by a few millimeters."

"Dang it!" MJ pouted and peered at one of the cards before erupting into laughter.

"What is it?"

She pointed to where she had been reading and Ned was soon next to her, tears streaming down his cheeks.

"Oh that is gold! He's afraid of spiders!"

"Can we prank him?"

"YES!"

Someone told them to shush and they quietened down, grinning madly.

"Okay, let's move on!" Pepper called.

Peter faced the Black Widow, relaxed but ready.

"You ready for training?" She asked.

He nodded.

"Okay." Natasha sat down in front of him, beckoning for him to join her. "I have a different way of training than the others."

"How?"

She smirked. "The majority of them aren't assassins. I am. And the point of being an assassin is to look harmless, so I don't really want to be walking around all muscle and nothing else, right?"

"Right."

"Which is why they trained us in ballet."

Peter raised an eyebrow. He was following where she was going with this, not wanting to look like some sort of buff hero or whatever, to ballet? "What?"

"I'm going to train you in ballet."

"...why?"

She shuffled a little. "You're Spidey. You need to be fast, strong, light, flexible, agile, you need stamina and you need to be able to act so no one guesses your identity."

"Yes."

"Ballerinas are fast, strong, flexible, agile, light, they have stamina and they are pros at making things look easy. Get where I'm going with this?"

"Ohhh. I see now."

"And fighting is often like a dance. You remember sequences and steps to counteract your opponent's." Nat stood up, dragging him along with her. "So that's what we're gonna do."

"Ballet?"

"Ballet." She began her lesson, teaching him the basic steps, how to do them and what muscles he needed to use. There was a lot of poking and Peter falling over, him being shocked at the amount of muscles required for one simple step and even that there were muscles in some places. Nat directed him, also explaining how a grande battement would help him kick more effectively.

They then progressed to conditioning and talked about how important it was to not push the body to its limits, no matter how spidery you were. She then put Peter through a series of exercises,  ultimately leaving Peter to wonder how to stop his gluteus maximus from being sore.

After that long session, Nat finally moved to fighting in the field, teaching him how to relate what he had just learnt in ballet to on the field.

"So, I know you haven't learnt much, but there is something that can help with the step you're about to do."

"Grande battement?"

"Yup. Use the same muscles to propel your leg in the air."

The kick landed square on Nat's training glove, sending her stumbling back a few steps. "Good, good. Keep going."

Peter dodged and weaved, throwing in some punches and kicks before switching back to defensive. Many times Nat lunged at him and Peter jumped over her, knowing now to use the plie to push through the ground, all the way through his kegs through his toes. He jumped higher than expected and nearly landed head first on the mat, but rolled away just in time to kick Nat in the small of her back.

"WOAH! THAT WAS COOL!"

Peter froze like a deer in headlights. His eyes locked with Nat's and they both turned to the viewing area, where a certain decathlon team was watching.

Crap crap crap crap craaaaaaaap. This is it, my life is over, everyone is going to know and I'm going to diiiiiiieeeeeeeee-

"Welcome to the training room," Nat said coolly, turning to the audience. "We're just finishing up if the want to come down, Pep."

"Nat, what are you doing?" Peter hissed out of the corner of his mouth.

"Saving your skin and making you less suspicious while also enjoying your embarrassment. Enjoy."

Peter sighed and turned to the door where the team was now entering. Greeeeaaat. Thanks Nat.

"Nice going, Parker," MJ said as she and Ned walked up. "Training?"

"My butt is too sore and now I'm mad at Nat because now muscles I didn't know existed are in agony."

"Haha, that's what you get for being a hero." MJ looked around, enjoying all the different activities. "Anyone wanna go rock climbing?"

"Count me in," Peter said, already walking towards the angled wall. It was tilted so one side was sloping outwards, tilting the length of the wall until the other side was more of an overhang. MJ and Peter harnessed up, not needing a belay team because of fancy technology and began climbing the hardest bit.

"So, how has your day been since I saw you last?"

MJ grunted. "Good. We went to the museum and the labs. Apparently someone  is scared of spiders."

"Oh shush. If you got bitten by one and started hallucination before being sick for an entire week and recovered with freaky powers that turned your blood radioactive, the yes, you would be scared of them."

"Well I didn't know that." She paused, looking for a place to reach. "Why did you have to go next to me?"

"Because I like making you look bad." Peter grinned down at her.

MJ shot him a death glare.

"I'm kiddiiiing, I could never make you look bad. I just wanted to climb with you, 'cause you're my girlfriend and all."

"Awww, you cute loser." MJ hoisted herself up, glaring at the last little bit. "Come on Jones."

"Wooo, you got this!" Peter climbed up, swinging over the ledge at the top. "You're nearly there!"

She reached up, latching on to the edge. Her fingers slipped and she yelped. A hand shot out and grabbed hers, pulling her up onto the ledge.

"Thanks," she said shakily. "I knew I couldn't fall, but-"

"Your brain still panicked? Yeah, mine does that all the time. It's fine."

They watched the scene below, everyone the size of their pinkie fingers, running around like an ant colony. MJ snorted as Flash punched the punching bag, which punched him back in return. Ned beat Abe in a sock wrestle and Liz and Brad were trying their hand at archery. Nat looked up at them and cupped her hands.

"Come on down, you're going to the next station soon!"

"Coming!" Peter called back before helping MJ off the ledge.

Liz and Brad watched in awe.

"Did they really climb all the way up there?" Liz asked.

"Apparently," Brad answered, his eyes shining. "She's so cool."

Liz shot him a glance. Did he like MJ? She shook her head, collecting the arrows and dropping them in their box, refusing to watch Peter and MJ abseil down together. She just wanted to get to lunch.

Pepper clapped her hands. "Okay, now it's time for lunch!"

The team let out a cheer, all of them hungry after walking around for a few hours.

"You gonna join us?" MJ asked as she unclipped her helmet.

Peter nodded. "Of course."

He was going to regret it.
