Chapter 2: The Icy Truth(13 human years later)
A/N
I found the first chapter slightly boring so I added chapter 2. Hope you enjoy! Also this is my co-writers character.
*Guinevere POV*
I brushed away the sweat that was beading down my forehead and gazed at my opponent. She glared back at me and advanced. I quickly went into attack mode and swept her legs out from under her. She was back up in an instance and jumped on my back. I bucked wildly finally managed to toss her from my back onto a bed. I was hoping for a wall but it would have to do. I immediately pounced onto the bed. We started circling each other and I was about to tackle her when a knife buried itself into the headboard. And that is how my day started. I quickly jumped back and Yarina let out a startled gasped. Standing in the doorway was a man with raven hair and green eyes."Girls!" Father said "Stop tussling around like boys and put on your dresses." We were a little taken aback, so without our normal snide comments we rushed to do as he told. When we got back we had a good look at our father. We instantly doubled over laughing. "What is so funny?" Father asked looking a little self conscious. "You're helmet!" I got out before continuing to laugh. "It looks like horns!" wheezed Yarina. Father blushed and said, "I think they look intimidating." Father started walking away and we followed still giggling. As we walked Father told us what we were going to do. "Today is Thor's coronation." he said indifferently. "You two will not be with the royal family because not everyone knows about you, so you will be in the crowd." he continued. As we strode down the hall we entered the throne room. Yarina and I gasped, the room looked amazing it was shimmering and absolutely glowing. The room had the startings of a crowd so we joined them at the end of the hall. We sat down by the wall at the far end of the room and played word games. An hour later the coronation was not yet started so I looked at Yarina and said, "This is getting boring do you want to do something else?" "Yeah, what do you have in mind?" Yarina said. "We can sneak into the treasury vault again or go see Heimdall, Father will not notice and if we don't want Heimdall to see us we can use that trick Father taught us!" "Let's go to the treasury!" she whispered. So we snuck out of the hall just as Uncle Thor flew in and started walking towards Odin. I had always thought Uncle Thor was a little too proud to be King, but oh well, he was about to become King anyway. We then casted our spell to shield us from Heimdall's view and snuck down to the treasury. There were two guards at the entrance, so we turned ourselves invisible and snuck passed them. Once inside we started looking at all the artifacts. But we soon grew bored and we worked on magic. "Do you want to try a summoning spell, Yarina?" "Sure!" she answered. So we started summoning small pieces to ourselves. But then all of a sudden our spells collided and hit the Casket which started humming. We looked at each other in horror and we heard the door start to open. The guards rushed into the vault and we hid. They looked around in confusion, before hearing a commotion behind the door they has just come in through. We realized then that the Frost Giants were raiding the vaults. Yarina and I were terrified. We saw the Frost Giants kill the guards by only touching them. They then walked to the Casket. I gasped. One Frost Giant looked my way. As the rest headed for the Casket he stalked towards us. He grabbed Yarina and I and we both screamed but instead of freezing, as the guards had, my skin turned blue. I looked up in shock and the Frost Giant looked equally surprised. I quickly kicked him away and ran further into the treasury with Yarina. We were both panting and gasping from exertion. As we ran we heard a sound of fire, we turned around to see the Destroyer kill the Frost Giants. We hid behind a statue as the door opened and we saw Odin, Uncle Thor, and Father come in. They look shocked and as they had their backs turned, we ran for it. By the time we reached our bedroom we were exhausted. There are stunned silence for a moment before Yarina cried "Why did my skin turn blue?" "I have no idea!" was all I had time to say before Father came storming into the room. "Father, what is going on?" Yarina asked. "There was a break in at the treasury." he said. Yarnia continued "That is awful, did the Frost Giants take anything?" "No," Father started but then looked confused, "how did you know they were Frost Giants?" he asked. Yarina tried to backtrack. "Well they are, our foes right?" "Guin, Yarina did you go to the vaults?" Father asked. "Maybe...fine, we did, we were practicing magic when both of our summoning spells hit the Casket and then the Frost Giants appeared and they killed the guards, we did not know what to do!" I said. "Girls, do you know what you could have done?" Father said. "Yes." I replied shortly. "You could have let the Frost Giants get the Casket back!" he continued. "We know." Yarina said. "Well, remember to think next time." Father said before storming out. Yarina got into her bed but I followed Father out the door. "Father," I called "Wait, please!" He turned and I ran to catch up. "When the Frost Giants tried to get the Casket one of them grabbed both of our wrists, and they turned blue!" Father took my wrists and examined them. "I don't see anything," he was still looking upset at us, "It must have been your imagination." He walked away. "Yes, it was only imagination" I told myself. Just my imagination.
