Chapter Twenty Four
I could hear Jake screaming my name as the wind blew through my hair. I began panicking as the ocean grew closer and closer. Maybe I should have waited before jumping. I looked up and saw Jake coming down looking like an effing torpedo. He was completely straight and facing me. He was picking up a lot of speed and before I knew it he had caught up to me. He grabbed onto my waist pulling me close to him.
"Now would be a great time for you to do something!" He shouted.
I took a deep breath calming my heart rate, I muttered a quick levitation spell causing us to come to an abrupt halt, a few feet above the ground.
"If we went splat, I promise I would've haunted you wherever the hell we were fucking sent." He Yelled.
"Well we didn't go splat...." just as those five words left my lips we fell and crashed onto the ground with a thump. I landed on Jake, he broke my fall.
"You were fucking saying." Grumbled Jake.
"Can you watch the language please, we are literally in a temple created by the moon goddess." I scolded him.
"Hate to break it to you sweetheart, but we are standing on top of it, in case you have forgotten it's all submerged in the fucking ocean!" He screamed looking up at the sky.
"I can try something." I began thinking of spells where I can levitate objects, maybe I can pull it out.
"You're telling me that you can lift up an entire temple." He laughed humorlessly, clapping his hands together and looking at me like a complete moron.
I gave him a dirty look and felt a surge of power flow through my body. I raised my hands and the whole temple began rising. The water was splashing furiously at us as the temple began getting taller. I had a gut feeling that I had pulled it up high enough so I let myself lower my hands.
"Well damn." Muttered Jake.
"I feel connected to this place it's weird." I mumbled.
"Well we are on the roof." Spoke Jake randomly. "Want to pull another trick out of your sleeve and get us down." He suggested flailing his arms in the air like a child who was just put in time out.
"We have to jump." I told him looking over the edge of the roof. I had a weird instinct that was telling me that we had to jump, not use magic.
"Are you mad!" He screamed at me.
I didn't give him a second to process what was happening as I leaped and shoved him off the edge with me. We were holding onto each other for dear life.
"If we don't die I'm going to kill you!" He screamed right before we came in contact with the icy cold water. Definitely do not recommend swimming here.
Right when I got my grip on the marble steps descending into the water, a wave crashed down on Jake and I, but instead of slamming us it was directing us.
"I am so fucking confused! When we get back I'm going to smoke so much random shit to forget about this traumatic experience with you!" He screamed right as the water pushed us to the entrance. He walked up to the door and tried to pull it open but it wouldn't budge.
I pushed him aside and tried for myself.
"What are you doing the door is locked, this was a waste of time..." right when he said that the door clicked and opened for me.
"Just fucking wonderful." He exclaimed, raising his hands in the air.
"What did I say about language." I snapped at him.
"Sorry my ducking bad." I couldn't help but let out a laugh at that one. We walked through the ginormous door and into the elegant entrance. There were intricate golden designs decorating the marble walls and floors. This really looked like a palace straight out of a Disney movie.
"Hello." I called out.
"Hello." Came from Jake right next to me.
"I wasn't talking to you, ding dong." I snapped causing him to raise his hands in surrender.
"I'm being friendly, you just told me to be friendly." He whisper shouted.
"I told you to be friendly, not to be stupid." I shot back.
"How rude!" He whisper shouted again. "That was a low blow!"
I felt almost like a push going deeper into the temple.
By now we had to be in the center of the temple, it really was breath taking. I read about places like these in books but never thought much of them. They were usually in fairytales and children's books, so they were seen as legends and myths. No one probably expected them to be real.
Suddenly there was a blinding light shining through the room. I raised my hands up covering my eyes. The brightness quickly faded and a soft and magical voice filled my ears.
"Hello my children." Jake and I looked at each other and then right back at her, how was this possible? Were we really talking to the moon goddess. She had a white dress that looked like giant tulip petals going around her waist. With diamonds scattering over her chest connecting at her waistband.
"My child come here." She spoke looking at me. I stepped forward and walked over to her.
"You have grown up beautifully, I had been waiting for this day to come for so many years. For me to be able to actually meet you. I'm sure you have many questions for me." She spoke running her hand down my hair.
"How did I get here?" I started with.
"Fate, you were destined to show up here so I brought you here." She spoke.
"What am I?"
"You are a Tribrid, but you figured that out already. I sent you down here to create peace and maintain balance but with that being said, I need you to control your powers. You my child, sent me so many souls, good and bad. I need you to get a handle on these abilities so I plan on helping you. I will appear to you in Dreams or even bring you to my temples again in the future." She spoke tracing my jaw with her finger.
"Your mate, Alpha Lincoln is quite a mess at the moment, so you mustn't stay much longer." She told me.
"But I have so many questions." I told her.
"They will be answered in time, I assure you, I will open a portal for the two of you to go back, I will see you my children, very soon." With that she clapped her hands together and golden portal opened up in thin air.
"How come I could sense what to do here?" I asked her quickly.
"You are one of my closest descendants and you were brought here as a baby, but that's different." She spoke.
"I was brought here as a baby?" I asked her.
"Go, I will answer everything soon, I promise my beloved child." She swore to me. I looked at Jake and he nodded. We gripped onto each other's hands before jumping through. There was a feeling of nausea washing over me as we landed with a thump on the wooden floors. I glanced up at Jake to see him giving me a crazed look.
"What the fucking hell?" He muttered to me.
