Chapter Twelve
*edited*
"No way!" I yelled immediately. "Brent you don't understand how angry I am at him, all the time. I could accidentally kill him." I frowned.
"You won't, he's one of the most powerful Alphas." He shrugged.
"I'm one of the most powerful people, Brent. I could accidentally kill him in the blink of an eye." I frowned.
"He's your mate Brielle, you won't hurt him." I groaned while rubbing my temples in frustration. He doesn't understand what I'm capable of. He knows I'm different that I'm a witch and a werewolf. He doesn't really know about the the whole demon thing. I guess you could say he thinks I'm a hybrid?
"Would it make you feel better if James and Rosa were there? I can mind-link him to have them nearby." He suggested finally seeing my complete distaste towards this situation. I would feel better having them nearby in case I go all crazy on Lincoln.
"No, I'll go but maybe have them close by." I asked following him out the door and down the hall.
He knocked on the door earning a nasty 'what!' Sounding from the other side of the door. Brent opened the door and once Lincoln's eyes met mine his gaze softened only for a split second before returning to their hard demeanor.
He looked up at Brent waiting for an explanation as to why we were here. I began to furiously pick at my nails due to the amount of stress I was feeling right now. I didn't want to accidentally hurt either of them.
"Luna, would like to talk to you about something, isn't that right?" He asked turning the attention back to me.
I gave Brent a 'really' look annoyed that he didn't want to tell his alpha that I was crazy and hallucinating.
"Were there ever human-like wolf things in the basement?" Brent facepalmed at my question.
"Brent can you explain?" He asked sounding annoyed.
"She said she saw half shifters, you know the things only heard of in stories. She said they were in cells in our basement, the storage section." He gave me a confused look.
"There aren't even any cells down there." He said refocusing his eyes on mine.
"They were all hungry and scared so I fed them that day when I overused my magic." I told him.
"Brielle there have never been wolves down there." He stated looking at me like I was dumb.
I felt my fury rise in me. I wanted to beat him up.
"I am not crazy! Stop looking at me like that! I know what I saw and if you don't want to believe me then that's on you!" I screamed at him. When I opened my eyes the books that lined his shelves were all over the place and Brent and himself were pressed so tightly to the wall you would have thought someone glued them.
"I'm so sorry." I frowned backing away from them immediately releasing them.
They both gave me sad looks. I didn't want them to feel bad for me. I didn't want anyone to feel bad for me. The door suddenly swung open revealing James and Rosa. They looked around in shock at the now destroyed office before looking at me.
"This is getting worse." Rosa frowned. She took a step towards me but I immediately took large strides back, keeping as much distance between us as possible. I don't want to hurt anyone. I cried out gripping at my hair, trying to get my mind to stop buzzing and my heart to stop beating so fast.
"Brielle, it's okay kid." James tried stepping forward so he was next to Rosa.
"Can you get that wolf to leave." She directed at Brent. His wolf growled at the disrespect.
"Brent go talk to Talia and see how the training is going." Lincoln ordered. He bowed his head before leaving the room. But not before giving me a look laced with pity.
"I never should have given you those pills, her demon should have been developing all those years not all at once, this is going to destroy her." She snapped at James.
"You mean you knew this was going to happen to me all along for years and didn't think to stop giving them to him! You could've been helping me with training to stop this thing." I screamed at them. I was losing my calm a lot faster than before.
"That wasn't fair to me." I frowned. "None of this was fair to me. What else have you all been keeping from me?" I snapped.
"She's having hallucinations now. She claims she saw cells filled with half-shifters in the basement." Rosa turned to me.
"If she's having visions, that can't be a good sign. I'll look into it."
"Can you guys at least act like I'm right here!" I yelled.
They all turned to me giving me shocked looks.
"Her arms." James spoke quietly. I glanced down and saw black, ridged vein-like patterns going up and down my arms.
"Control your anger Brielle." She frowned.
"I can't! I'm so angry right now!" I screamed at her.
Lincoln made his way towards me and I was about to punch him when he grabbed my arm pulling me into his chest. His arms wrapped tightly around my small frame.
"Leave." He told James and Rosa.
"It's ok, we are going to figure everything out." He spoke into my hair.
"How can you say that you haven't been with me through any of this." I said feeling angry all over again.
"I should leave." I frowned.
"No." He snapped. "No more leaving you've been gone for too long my wolf is restless when yours isn't around.
"You make me so angry, you know that?" I breathed.
"You make me angry too." He spoke. "But no matter how angry I am at you, I will never like you any less. You are perfect." I smiled at his words. My wolf was going crazy buzzing around in my head constantly begging to be near our mate. I just don't want to hurt him, especially with the whole letting out my demon. I did feel kind of bad though for being so nasty to him. For like over a week. He was just trying to help me I guess. I was just too blinded by anger to realize it.
