Chapter Thirteen

*edited(sorry idk why some of these are so short)*

"Again." I knocked the cans off of the course Rosa had created. She made a full on witch training course for me. It definitely pushed me, but I felt myself physically growing stronger and having more control over my magic.

"Have you worked on the spell of destruction recently." I just shook my head as I picked up the cans readjusting them on top of the logs.

"Why don't we do that one next." She spoke, not really asking as she stared at me intently.

"No, lets just skip that one today." I mumbled as I finally got all the cans back in their designated spots.

"No. You will do it, you can't just avoid things because they are difficult." She snapped giving me a knowing look.

"What's the next one?" I asked her.

"I already told you, the destruction spell." She snapped crossing her arms over her chest.

"Rosa, I said no." I snapped back, what was with everyone wanting me to do it. Like why would they all want to see me destroy stuff so badly anyway. Let things be fine, let them stay perfect. Was it so much to ask?

"Brielle, do you want my help?" She snapped, "Because your skills are good, I'm here to help you with more control and spells you haven't done yet. If I just have you do the same spell over and over again you will learn nothing."

"I said no!" I screamed tightly shutting my eyes. When I reopened them I saw a look of shock etched over Rosas face as her eyes widened into saucers. That's when I noticed why. All the trees around us were crumbling to the ground with loud bangs as the branches smacked against the earth. I looked around with a mixture of shock and disappointment in myself for losing control.

"I think I'm done for today." I muttered turning away from the woods as I hurried back to the house. The snapping of branches below my shoes filling my ears during my walk home.

I was losing control and fast. I didn't want anyone to get hurt because of me. It's bad enough that I'm forced to lie to the pack, but if I ever hurt one of them due to my lack of control, I would never forgive myself.

"Hey frowny face,  super pooper dooper, why are you feeling glum?" Smirked Brent as I walked passed him into the house.

"Well that was rude." He feigned shock, putting a hand over his heart.

I gave him a smile that didn't reach my eyes before heading up to my room.

I plopped down on my bed gripping the sheets turning my knuckles white. I screamed into my pillow case muffling all the noise.

A knock on the door interrupted my breakdown.

"Not now Brent." I called taking a deep breath. The door opened and I groaned.

I sat up when the strong scent of my mate filled my senses.

"What's going on, shouldn't you still be training with Rosa?" He asked glancing at his watch.

"We ended it early today." I lied.

"No you didn't. You should be out there training." He said going over to the dresser. He just didn't want me around.

"Sorry for being here." I snapped before getting up and making my way towards the door. Before I could leave he yanked me by my elbow,  pulling me against his chest and into a hug.

"Talk to me." He said breathing in my scent.

"Oh so now you want to talk." I snapped trying to get out of his embrace.

"Tell me now, Brielle." He snapped tightening his grip around my body.

"It sucks. You don't understand how lucky you are to not be like me. Everyone expects so much from me and it sucks." I muttered feeling a tear slide down my cheek.

"You are special, you have gifts people would die for." He questioned.

"Yeah and these 'gifts' got my parents killed, so how lucky really am I." I snapped. "They were the reason my old best friend abandoned me. They were the reason James couldn't be happy! They were the reason for everything that went wrong!" I was breaking, slowly crumbling to nothing but dust on the ground. I hated feeling so worthless like this.

"That's not why I left, and I regret leaving you behind every single day." He whispered in my hair.

"I don't even have to look at you to know your lying." I muttered.

"Br—" I cut him off.

"No, everyone needs to stop lying to me, I-I—I can't take it anymore." I said pushing him away from me and taking a step back. I cried out and gripped at my hair.

"It feels like there is a war going on inside my brain and I can't do anything to stop it, so stop lying. Please." I cried gripping at my hair even tighter.

"Brielle you are going to hurt yourself stop it." He spoke softly trying to get my fingers away from my hair.

"No..no...no." I cried out still trying to get away from him while trying to ignore the never ending pain and torment swirling around inside my head and chest.

"That's it, should I go get James or Rosa?" He asked as I slowly let him pull my hands down to my sides. I just shook my head slowly as tears rushed down my cheeks.

"Come here." He said pulling me into his chest hugging me tight.

"You're going to be all right, Rosa said that this will all settle down after a few days." He pressed a soft kiss to my head.

"Lets get some food in you." He said to me pulling me towards the door. "You've had a rough day and I'm sure you're hungry."

Once we got down to the kitchen he began frying some eggs and cooking some bacon. He said breakfast should always be eaten during other meal times as well. Usually James and I stuck to sandwiches and soups. Plus meats for our wolves.

It smelled heavenly. Nothing beats the smell and taste of bacon, especially Lincoln's bacon.
