Chapter Six
*edited*
After maybe the sixth game of checkers we realized how we completely lost track of time.
"He is going to literally skin me alive." I yelled at James causing him to chuckle and shake his head.
"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be fine just tell him you were here." He said folding the checker board and placing it back in its designated basket.
"He was already mad at me to begin with James." I panicked quickly putting my dirty shoes back on.
"You sure you don't want me to walk you back, it's dark outside now." He frowned peaking out the window.
"I'll be fine, I'm a big girl." I laughed still panicking deep down about how Lincoln will react. Why am I this nervous?
I shouldn't be this nervous.
"Promise me you'll visit again soon." He asked pulling me into one last tight hug.
"Of course I will." I smiled before walking outside of the small cottage. It was pretty chilly outside now.
"Hey pup! What are you doing here! Get inside!" I heard someone call however I did not see a pup anywhere.
"Hey! You heard me!" He yelled again before making his way towards me.
I picked up my pace and hurried faster towards the pack house.
"Stop it right there pup that's an order!" He yelled again. He thinks I'm a pup. I didn't stop, I had more power than him in this pack.
Suddenly I felt him grab my arm and turn me around.
"I am not a pup. Now get off me." I growled at him.
"Everyone is supposed to be inside with the Alpha in the meeting building, I'm not sure what makes you so special." He growled clearly not liking my attitude towards him.
"Why?" I asked. Why would Lincoln have a pack meeting and not think to tell me about it.
"Rogues lots of them have been getting in, if you go in there you might hear the end." He said pointing to what I'm assuming is where they have pack meetings.
"It's fine. Thank you." I said before walking away.
"Wait that was a mandatory meeting where were you?" He asked.
"I lost track of time." It wasn't necessarily a lie.
"May I get your name, Alphas orders." He asked pulling out a pen.
"Please stop, I can just ask Lincoln about everything later he won't care." I said going to walk away when he grabbed my arm so tight I felt like it was going to bruise.
"Let me go." I yelled trying to pry my wrist out of his grip.
"You just disrespected our Alpha." He snapped. "It supposed to be Alpha to you."
He went to drag me away probably towards the meeting building.
"Stop." I yelled at him. He kept pulling me however he passed the meeting room and took me towards a more unfamiliar building.
"A night or two in the dungeons should teach you some respect." He said yanking me towards the more filthy, rundown looking building.
Now I was panicking.
"Please don't do this Lincoln will hurt you." I yelled at him. This time he threw me to the ground. Hard.
I groaned in pain.
He went to grab onto me again but I felt an unfamiliar feeling come over me. I squeezed my eyes shut and tried to breathe.
That's when all hell broke loose. Literally.
When I reopened them, he was laying on the ground writhing in pain.
I squeezed my eyes shut and tried to breathe I needed to stop this. I gripped at the grass and felt it all dying under my touch. What is happening to me? I breathed out and tried to control all of the magic. When I heard his shrieks stop, I stood up on shaky legs and hurried away from the sounds of voices. I made it to the pack house and carefully made it to my room. With a lot less trouble than last time. I walked into the bathroom and splashed my face with water.
That has never happened before. I looked up at myself in the mirror and frowned at my appearance. I was paler than normal and I had prominent bags under my eyes.
My thoughts got interrupted by the sound of a knock coming from my bedroom door.
"Brielle! Open the door!" I heard Lincoln call. Dang. I tried to make myself look more like a person than like a dying animal.
I unlocked the door and opened it.
"Where the hell have you been! What did you do to that guard outside! Wha—" I cut him off quickly by shushing him.
"I was playing checkers with James and then that guard guy was being quite rude to me and was planning on taking me to the dungeons since I didn't call you Alpha! Then I lost control of my magic which has never happened before so if you would give me a flipping second to process that, that would be great!" I said in one breath. He looked shocked staring at me.
"He's in the pack hospital now." He told me taking a seat next to me on the bed.
"Why do you think your losing control of your powers all of a sudden?" He asked me and I just shrugged. He knew why. It's not like there was anyone else like me. Why did the moon goddess have to do this to me. Why couldn't she just make me normal.
This is when I finally broke. I felt a sob rack through my body when suddenly a warm arm wrapped around my shoulder.
"It's going to be okay. We will figure this out." He said pressing a kiss to my head.
"I am a mess, I hate crying." I said furiously wiping at my tears.
"My mom told me this before she passed. Just because you need to cry doesn't make you weak. It just means that you have been strong for too long." He spoke softly, running a hand up and down my arm.
"I wish I could've met her." I said quietly, leaning my head against his shoulder.
"She would have loved you." He smiled sadly, looking down to meet my eyes.
"I think I need to get help." I picked furiously at the skin around my nails, as the feeling sinked in.
"What do you mean? You have James and I." He told me not quite understanding.
"I think I need help from a witch." I frowned.
"Absolutely not." He snapped. "We can't trust them."
"I'm partly a witch, so do you not trust me then?" I asked him, using that card.
"Can we think about it a little bit first?" I gave him a pointed look.
"Fine, fine, fine. I'll look into it." He told me. I smiled and pulled him into a hug.
"Thank you." I whispered.
